So delicious!! We got takeout and everything was awesome: crispy sesame chicken, sweet and sour pork, basil eggplant tofu, chow fun, and scallion pancakes. I love that the whole restaurant is vegan and I can try so many dishes. The food was prepared pretty quickly for our pickup. I will definitely return when back in Mountain View!

Good and fast service. A lot of people came and they ate friendly. Dishes is a bit small so you should order more. Our favorite is veggie fish with seaweed.

    To-go order of General's Chicken
    Serina N.

I was running some errands nearby, so I decided to grab takeout. I went with General's Chicken and Black Pepper Chicken Chow Mein. When I arrived, there were plenty of parking spots, and the restaurant was empty. The parking lot is a bit small, so I imagine it can be tricky to find a spot when it's busy. I can't say much about the ambiance or service because it was a quick in-and-out experience. When I got to my car, I immediately vented the General's Chicken container and left the plastic bag open because I wanted to make sure it was still crispy when I got home. Note to the restaurant: I really appreciate when restaurants cut holes in the corners of containers for crispy/fried foods to keep them from getting too soggy. Having some venting for the steam to escape really helps. General's Chicken was my go-to before I went vegan, so I was really excited to find a vegan version. When I ordered on DoorDash, the General's Chicken had three spice levels: Medium, Mild, and Spicy. I went with Spicy, but the sauce didn't taste spicy to me at all. It was also super gingery, which I'm not used to. The sauce wasn't bad, but it didn't remind me of the typical General Tso sauce I'm used to. That said, I did enjoy the crispy texture, broccoli, and bell peppers. I'd rate this a 3.5/5. Yelp AI mentioned that the Black Pepper Chicken was the highest-rated item, so I decided to try the Black Pepper Chicken Chow Mein. At first bite, I was unsure of it, but as I kept eating, I enjoyed it more and more. I love that they include so many veggies, it really adds to the dish. I would give this a 4/5. Overall, I thought the food was good. I can definitely see myself ordering other items from here next time I get a craving for Chinese takeout.

I've been hearing rave reviews about this place from friends and family in the area and it does not disappoint! The food isn't an exact one-to-one match for what it's mimicking, but the flavor is so good and you feel even better after eating it. I loved the gobi manchurian the most. It was crunchy with a great meaty texture. The fish was a bit tougher than regular fish, but the flavor was spot on and I didn't mind the extra texture. The space is small and filled up quickly during dinner, but the service was super friendly and fast. Our waitress was happy to show us what the dishes looked like and explain what they tasted like, which was really helpful. I'll definitely be back to try more of their mock meats and dishes.

Flavor is on point. One of my favorite vegan restaurants in the area. Family run, authentic. Simple but clean ambiance.

VG Duck - reminds me of thanksgiving gravy- pretty good.

Very cool and interesting vegan dishes! Too many to choose from but we had the duck and pepper veal, and a side of spinach. The textures were classic parallels to traditional. Service was prompt and the food served hot and fresh. Would definitely come back to try shrimp or fish.

Everything is 100% vegan. The ribs were my favorite among the other delights like kimchi fried rice w/brown rice (optional), homemade pot stickers and garlic spinach. However a bold black pepper Chicken chow mein is not to be passed over. The noodles are thick and slightly firm. Lavender tea was very nice. Prices were average. The dishes are served family style with decent portions. We ordered a lot of food and had to pack some to take home. Service was awesome. The meal is always better when the conversation is going and lots of smiles are exchanged. Our server Yen is a beautiful and most kind and friendly young lady. We will be back!

As a Mountain View resident, I've been here a few times over the years, mostly doing picking rather than dine in. In terms of the dine in area, it's in a limited space but one should always be able to find a table. It's family owned and they're extremely friendly and will definitely give you the best recommendations! I mostly come here when I have company in the form of friends who are vegetarians/vegans and want to eat Asian food or on days I want to cut down on my meat intake. Few dishes I've frequented 1. Black Pepper Chicken Chowmein - This is their highlight hands down. Flavor is spot on without being over the top on black pepper, good portion of soy based vegan chicken, and also adjustable oil based on request. N 2. Mapo Tofu - I would get this spicy to get a Mapo Tofu with a kick and ask them to not add much sweetish flavor to this dish, because if you get it towards the milder side, you'll get a sweetish taste. But you know, the portion size is crazy and there it is not too high on oil either. 3. Wonton in Chili Oil - This has a peanut based flavor/sauce and is on the sweeter side, but I do love the peanut based flavor. It mostly contains veggies like cabbage and carrots inside. Good dish, again good portion size. Over the years, I have tried other dishes like the Hunan Tofu/Vegan chicken, the Mongolian Vegan Chicken, the tofu fries, salt and pepper tofu with most dishes being food. And oh yea, the Thai curries are pretty decent too. The weekday lunch combos are good value for money. The garlicky noodle was a bit low on flavor/bland for me. I wasn't super fond of the Singapore style rice noodle too, but that might just be due to my preferences of liking thick noodles and not rice noodles. Very consistent food and a 4 or 4.5 most times though. Parking available outside at all times in the small complex.

As a vegetarian, I always appreciate these vegan/vegetarian restaurants - the food options are endless! We arrived around 40 minutes before closing and had 10 minutes to quickly decide what we wanted before the kitchen closed. We ended up getting the Black Pepper Chicken Chow Mein, the Mo Po tofu, and a side of rice. Mo Po tofu (3.5/5): This was my first time having Mo Po tofu and it was alright. thought it could have been more flavorful. We added some chili oil and that helped a little. I wish the rice came with the dish but this is common in many restaurants. Black Pepper Chicken Chow Mein (4/5): Good flavors! The vegetables were cooked really well and I liked the black pepper. I personally liked this dish over the Mo Po tofu. We asked for it to be spicy but we didn't taste any heat. Overall, the food could be spicier, but otherwise the flavors were well-balanced and service was excellent. Good local business to check out!

INSANELY GOOD. I brought my dad who is not a vegan here for lunch, and even he was impressed with the food. I ordered the black pepper chicken chow mein based on our server's recommendation, and it was absolutely delicious. Decently sized portion, and it came full of vegetables and vegan chicken, unlike some places where they give like 90% noodles. My dad enjoyed the moo shu vegetables. The servers were quick and friendly, and the food came extremely fast, probably within 10 minutes of ordering. They have a pretty extensive menu, and everything the people around us were eating looked delicious too. I will probably be back here very very often to work through the rest of the menu!

We chanced upon this place and were greatly impressed. First, so happy to see the food came out so quickly even though the restaurant was so full. So many options to choose from! Black pepper chicken chow mein- the best of all the items we ordered. Noodles were perfectly soft, the black pepper added a nice twist. Orange chicken - kids wanted this, not very impressed, but the plate was empty, very quickly. I liked it that it is not like the usual too sweet orange chicken, it was mildly sweet. The veggie chicken did end up a little chewy. Ma Po Tofu - husband is a huge fan of this dish in general. It was good but we have had better ones before. Garlic Eggplant - was listed as spicy in the menu. It was sweet. A little disappointed. Wonton soup - all of us loved it! It is a very basic, not a lot of flavors, but that was enough Pineapple fried rice - it was good but it was a little on the mushy side. Overall, we enjoyed the food!

S9. Black Pepper Chicken Chow Mein

I rarely go to a restaurant twice within a few months as we are spoilt for choices in the bayarea. But I had a hankering for the black pepper chowmein, so we made our way back here. In addition to the chowmein I also wanted to try some eggplant dish and we were suggested to get the basil eggplant. So here is the rundown of the dishes we tried this time- Black pepper chowmein- 5/5- I came back here just for this dish. It's really good. Definitely get this!!! Basil eggplant-5/5- another epic dish. Definitely ranks high on the best eggplant dishes I ever had. Not spicy but very savory without any sweet notes. It came with tofu as well which was equally delectable. Veggie fried rice- 4/5- delicious but very oily. There was no need for so much oil in this dish. Hopefully they take this feedback and work on improving it. Organic chicken salad- 4/5- my younger one wanted this. It came with a bunch of greens topped with lots of crispy wonton skins, fried "chicken" pieces and some dressing on the side. It was surprisingly good as the elements worked together cohesively. Vegetarian wonton with chilli oil- 4/5- another solid dish, the wontons were topped with some peanut sauce. It was a tad bit sweet, though I don't prefer sweetness in my savory dishes this was great as well. It's a very cosy little mom and pop style restaurant. I highly recommend giving them a try. I can assure you, you won't miss meat.

Can't believe it took so long for me to try this place! It's right next to the vet I go to and I've had Veggie Garden bookmarked for awhile. Came by to pick up to go for lunch while visiting the vet. Lunch prices are reasonable and I thought portion sizes were good. The garlic eggplant lunch was enough for lunch and dinner for one person. They take Apple Pay and you can sub out rice for double chow mein :) Hope to be back!

The restaurant was very pretty, with a sleek and floral theme. Also, I noticed some herby smell which was pleasant so extra hats off to that detail. I placed a reservation of 5 at 7:45 pm on a Friday night with me and my family, and we had no issues getting to our table. We were a bit late, however staff made sure that we get seated in no time. Once we got sat down, we got our menus and took some time to decide what to order. Our amazing friend and waitress Elizabeth made sure to give us time to thoroughly look through the menu and decide on what we were going to eat. She was very friendly and caring, and was so excited to take our order, which elevated her experience. Her suggestions were perfect for our family. We ordered the Mixto Clásico ceviche, 2 orders of truffle mac and cheese, Arroz Con Mariscos, Pollo A La Brasa (Half chicken), Beef Anticuchero Roll, and Lengua a La Parilla. In five minutes, the staff already brought the ceviche, which included calamari, fish, veggies, and the taro chips. It was refreshing and citrusy. After we finished that , then another 3 minutes goes by, and everything arrived. I was so shocked on how fast they serve especially because of how busy they were. All the dishes were so fresh and cooked to perfection. The mac was so creamy, cheesy, and delectable especially because of the truffles. The pollo a la brasa was cooked nice and tender, served with fries, and that yellow sauce was addicting, literally ON CRACK. The lengua was great, the mashed potatoes along with the lengua, shrimp, and spicy sauce gave it texture and flavor. The nikkei beef antichchuero roll I was surprised with. Of course, we couldn't just end there, we obviously had to go for dessert. We chose the Tres Leches cake, and it was presented with chocolate, caramel, and strawberry sauce which was sweet and smooth. Paired with the cake, it was so good and a genius combination. In the end, when leaving, our staff asked us if we needed any extra help with anything before we left, which was a very kind gesture. When we left, the staff kindly greeted us a warm goodbye, and thanked Elizabeth especially for helping us order these great assortments of dishes. In the end, we left with our stomachs full of food and great memories. I am already looking forward to my next visit here, and please, give this Peruvian spot a try, because you will never go back to any other ones besides this spot.

The lighting is not too dim for you to fall asleep but ensures a nice calm environment. We tried their matcha and mocha. Unfortunately, their matcha was really bad and just tasted like milk. The mocha was really good though and very strong, which I enjoyed! Overall, great environment with lots of comfortable chairs for good studying!

Because, once again, I was distracted by the quality of the food, and there would be no way for me to do anything else, but to eat! Today, I was in the mood for something more than a salad (much as I wanted to preset what I had the first time coming here, I made a concerted effort to order something else...), thus I chose the Forager Flatbread. It took less time to make this time (roughly about five minutes after ordering), and when it came out, I marveled at how it looked like a work of art! Just beautiful! Each piece of herbed formage blanc flatbread had a nice, crunchy bottom (but not blackened) and a slightly tanginess, with a a good amount of "hen-of-the-wood" mushrooms, sweet roasted garlic and a bed of arugula. My, oh, my! My first bite was a multi-level extravaganza! The crunch of the bread, followed by the aroma of the herbs and arugula, then the saltiness of the cheese, the sweetness of the roasted garlic, the earthiness of the mushrooms - all came together as just a wonderful work of culinary art! This being my first time eating today, my saliva glands just fired off at first bite, causing a bit of intense pain from too much saliva shooting out. But, seriously, this was a very delicious entree, that I enjoyed from start to finish! Bravo for this second joyous experience!
