Raita would have been a better choice than the cucumber salad that was served to help with the heat. Overall, the food was tasty and plentiful. I'm originally from Southern California where there are a lot of Indian restaurants. Granted, a lot of my friends are Indian, I can also probably say that I have a relatively good grasp on Indian food now. The food here is a bit pricey for the portions they give you. The entree's you order come with either naan or rice if you get them al la carte. On my first time here, I decided to order a variety of things including 2 orders of samosas, chicken tikka masala, malai kofta, butter chicken, saag chicken and garlic naan on the side. All this food was for four people. I would say overall the food was pretty good. My favorite was the saag chicken (I'm not the biggest fan of paneer). The malai kofta was good as well. I'd love to come back and try the pani puri and the wraps- sounds very interesting. Parking overall is pretty easy since this place is in the same shopping center as Safeway and Rite Aid. Staff is pretty friendly as well. This place is great for take out but eating there is fine too. read more

Delicious and spicy. We were recommended this restaurant from a friend who said this place reminded him the most of the food he would eat back home. We decided to try it out. It wasn't busy at all when we went in, which is usually a bad sign. We were greeted by someone at the register. How it works is you go up to the register, pay for your meal, grab your utensils and water in the black box next to the register, and then sit down at a table. They bring out the food to you once your food is ready. I opted to get the malai kofta which, according to their description, means vegetable dumplings in tikka masala curry. You can either choose the a la carte or dinner option, and of course I chose the dinner option. It was $12.99 for a bowl of my curry, two big half pieces of naan, rice, dal, and vegetables. It was very filling. I hardly ate half. Tastewise - Twas delicious and spicy. Definitely coming back to this place. Would come again. read more

This place is very unassuming yet fantastic!!! Authentic, fresh and delish! You place your order at the counter and they promptly bring your food to the table. It's not a typical buffet...but their portions are generous...I've always taken leftovers home. I've gone there at various times of the day and it's typically packed but never a line. I'm a major fan of the Desi chicken wrap, which is magical, spicy chicken heaven, wrapped in naan. They have the BEST Samosas and chicken Biriani (rice dish with shredded chicken). The curries are amazing with well balanced flavors. I've tried the Butter chicken and Vindaloo lamb. I keep ordering the same things but I am making my way thru their menu. Their daily specials are very good too. The only thing I didn't like was, the take out portions for their curries are much smaller than when you dine inside. Oh my gosh! I love this place! I ordered Chaat Kate for the first time for delivery and it was amazing! I ordered the Lamb Biryani and you get a bunch and it's delicious!! Great flavor!! I did order extra sides of the yogurt mint I think sauce that comes with it and instead they gave me sides of ranch. Yuck with Indian food! I didn't even know Indian restaurants carried ranch and why they would. Anyways I got a few sides of the onion naan and it was insanely spicy! This isn't written on their menu, in fact it doesn't even mention spice whatsoever. Three pieces went to waste and our mouths were so on fire that we had to stop eating to cool down. I had the Chicken Tika plate. Chicken was so dry, I went back in, (we ate outside), & asked for any type of a curry sauce. Looked at me like deer in the lights & handed me a bottle of ketchup. I finally found Indian food I don't have to drive to Fremont or San Jose for! Ps. It's being delivered as I write this. I am over the moon. The samosa is potatoey and amazing, the filling is spiced perfectly they came still crispy in the last delivery. The saucy goodness of the tikka was so perfect; I seriously have ashram childhood memories when I tasted this. Leftover the next day we're also perfect. Indian dishes typically have a kick to them, but theirs is the perfect level of spicy! The Saag Paneer is a must! I usually find this dish to be super oily and flavorless, but Chaat Kafe's is our absolute favorite! You'll find considerable amounts of Indian cottage cheese mixed in the flavorous spinach sauce. We have always called in our order and got it go, so I can't speak on dine-in experience but we've never had a problem with customer service here. Absolutely love the chicken biryani here! Chicken is always cooked just right and the rice always has the right amount of flavor and spice! Shout out to the review that said this was the best food in the area! Because of that we ended up going here and it hit the spot 3000. My fiance and I have finally found our go-to for Indian food. We started off with the samosa chaat. My fiance thought she was ordering the regular samosas so she was suprised when the dish came out, but I convinced her even though the dish looked somewhat a mess it was probably still going to be good. It wasn't just good, I'd say it was phenomenal and will probably be a regular dish we order when we come here. I don't know how to describe the intense but refreshing mixture of flavors, it was almost like chopped up samosas covered in a creamy salsa(wrong culture I know, but it's the best way I can describe this dish lol). For her entree, my fiance ordered the butter chicken dinner. The dinner plates(versus the a la carte plates) come with veggies, rice, daal, and naan(she upgraded to the garlic pesto naan). The butter chicken was rich and creamy, and I'd say one of the best I've had, if not the best. The naan had that rich garlicy flavor that I love, and paired great with the butter chicken and the curry that I ordered as well. The rice, veggies, and daal actually came on their own plate to our confusion, and it looked like it was it's own actual entree. We had to ask to make sure we weren't delivered the wrong food because we got two plates of it. Rookies! As for myself, I ordered the punjabi house curry with crispy catfish and plain naan. They had me at crispy catfish, but the catfish is not really crispy as it says it is. I believe it's breaded, fried, then served or cooked further in the curry. I was hoping at least maybe they'd be putting the catfish in the curry at the very last moment so it was still crispy like the name, but it was soft/tender by the time it got to me. But the breading was thin so it didn't really disappoint since it was still good The curry itself was pretty good too and had a good kick to it, but I preferred the butter chicken and garlic pesto naan. My fiance preferred my curry and plain naan so we ended up switching. WIN-WIN! I also ordered the chai tea and I'm assuming they were making it supa-fresh because even though I ordered it along with all the food, I didn't get it until we were pretty much done eating. I actually thought they forgot about it and asked the server but he assured me they were still making it. I have a huge sweet tooth so when I saw they had gulab jamun, I had to order some after having all the spice-laden food. I've had better, but it was still pretty damn good and better than the last place I got it at. Overall, the food was amazing and we're definitely coming back the next time we're craving Indian. The menu is huge and offers a wide-array of foods so maybe next time we'll try some of the wraps or even some of the vegetarian dishes. Really like this place for my Indian food cravings! Love home cooking but when that's not available this place does a great job to substitute. The papri Chaat is A great appetizer and the cholay bhaturay can be a whole meal for a super low price. The wraps are good but my favorite is the chicken tikka masala entree with naan and rice. The kulfi bar for dessert is a perfect finish. Usually I get the food to go or delivered and I've never had issues with mistakes. Dining in is fine too as the atmosphere is casual with television shows playing. The staff is friendly and attentive as well. Delicious! We loved it. We ate inside, one other family was inside and a few to-go orders, pretty normal for a Tuesday night. I had one of the vegetarian options, Baingan Bhartha (Eggplant Curry, Dinner Portion: $10.99); my Mom had the Chicken Tikka Masala (Curry, Dinner Portion, $12.25).
