    Different tea flavors
    Usha A.

I had heard about this place, but visited recently with friends. After dinner we felt like having the tea in the earthen glass and hence we came here. It's a very busy place and I was surprised that this is open till late night or almost 24/7 this is open. They have many different types of tea and it's interesting how the flavours come close to based on which tea you have ordered. I ordered saffron tea and I could feel the freshness of saffron in each sip that I took from the earthen glass or say kullhad. There's food and other snacks available but we only had tea and left the busy buzz place. The ambiance is buzzing with people and only people.

Nice little spot to get some refreshing chai. The chai we got was plain so I had to add quite a bit of sugar since that's how I like my chai (saw another guy dump tons of sugar too LOL).

We came here on a Sunday late night for Chai and snack! It was very busy and the ambiance was very lively and intimate, with limited seating. You order at the kiosk and pick up the items at the pick up window. We ordered the Ginger Chai and Bun Maska. The Ginger Chai was warm and not too sweet, more the bitter side, which made it delicious and perfect to drink on a cold night! The Bun Maska was also pretty good combination to dip into the Chai. The buttery bun with the slight sweetness from the tutti frutti made it a good combination! This place (and the plaza) is a good late night hang out spot, as the stores here stay open late into the night. I recommend this place as a fun late night hang and will be back in the future to try other things on the menu!

    Kulhadd chai inside paper cup

Getting parking on the weekend was tough and lines were flowing out of the restaurant. Both front and back door were left open for ventilation which created windy interiors. Despite the self ordering kiosks the store was crazy busy. The order was coming out in parts and its self service so u will be going multiple times to the pick up area to grab stuff. Restroom was dirty and had a bicycle parked inside the restroom :-| no napkins or toilet paper. We were in a group so got to try different things. My reviews below: - masala veg maggie 4/5- decent and hot - cold coffee 4/5 - not too sweet and good frothy which i liked - saffron kulhadd chai $5.50 - 2/5 - lame and too milky. Also, for some reason they put the kulhadd inside a paper cup which i didnt like - masala chai 4/5- decent quantity and taste for $4.50 - peri peri fries 5/5 huge portions and yummy fresh. This was the best thing here! - pan refresher - 4/5 - sprite mixed with pan green rasna syrup. I liked it. It was something new and refreshing. - pan milkshake 4/5 - unique taste and frothy milk - kadak chai 3/5 - skip it They charge $1 extra for kulhadd cup on any type of chai

My go to place for the Indian Tea, also known as, chai, when I am in the area. You can choose from a variety of teas. They serve some light snacks and other coffee types. But, chai is what you come here for. You may find other customers a little loud and even annoying sometimes , if you go to Starbucks or Peet's. But I understand that this is the place where they feel at home and they are having fun. If you love your tea and want to try something other than regular, please visit this place. Caution: Their hot beverages are served hot. Like really hot!

I get my car washed at Pacific Car Wash adjacent to the shopping center that Chaiwala is in so an easy walk over for chai while I wait. On some busy afternoons the wait for the car bath is 45 mins or more so I have time to chill and enjoy my drink. My go-to chai is Ginger, unsweetened, I love that spicy kick on 1st sip, even on hot days and yes, it does get pretty darn warm in Fremont......

Chaiwala was very busy today, but service was quite prompt! They have a family-friendly vibe with guests of all ages. They did have plenty of seats, so we were able to grab a table too! This place has quite a variety of chai flavors that can be mixed, but the chai is quite hot when served so be sure it's at a drinking temperature before taking a sip. I'd like to come back and try some food here too!

TLDR : Good for a nice evening meal with Chai! Given that chai is the main seller, we were excited to try their chai. We tried the Paan chai but it did not really stand out as much with the Paan flavor. The bun maska was good. Loved the fruity bread.

Great chai! Always order cardamom or rose. Nice sides too. Very friendly service. Maggi and bun muska tasty too.

Had their masala chai, bun maska, paneer burger, and maggi, and everything was delicious. Chai is more like home like and not too heavy, which was nice. Paneer burger was fire!! Little on spicy side though, maggi was decent. Pricing is reasonable. The ambiance is casual. Its self service. Also, getting a table is kinda challenging on a weekend though!

Not sure what happened we came for chai and the party behind us had food and everything but they got their food before we did plus we still had to wait like 10 minutes. Then we got served in paper cups when everyone else who spoke their language got the actual clay looking pots for their chai. I really hope it's more that we didn't know the difference than them treating us different. That was very disappointing sorry. Please see the pics posted to see the difference.

Stopped by Chai Wala Shop in Fremont over the weekend. They serve different types of chai, and if you ask, you can even get it served in a kullad (clay cup) for an extra $1, which adds a nice traditional touch. They also offer a few snacks that typically go well with chai, giving it a cozy, street-side tea stall kind of vibe. We tried their Masala Chai, Kadak Chai, Bombay Veggie Sandwich, and Bun Maska. The food and chai were good. The place was pretty crowded, and parking was tough, especially on a weekend. That said, the service was quick, which was a nice surprise given the crowd. The ambiance was decent. Overall, a nice spot for a casual outing if you're in the area and craving Indian-style chai and snacks.

This place is truly unique, offering a variety of chai options. Although I had heard mixed reviews, I was intrigued by their focus on chai and decided to give it a try. We sampled the masala chai, Mumbai veggie sandwich, and masala Maggi. Every dish was delicious. While the ambiance was just okay and the place was quite busy, the popularity is justified. All the dishes met our expectations. It's a great spot..

It's just a little cold in there for some reason. We started with a watermelon spritz and the inji-puli lotus appetizer since we'd never tried anything like that, and it was very yummy and had such a nice crispy but soft texture. It was also a good portion for all four of us. We got the goat curry and the chettinad spice vegetables, and a few parathas to share. We were afraid it wouldn't be enough but the parathas are actually very filling, and also have a really great texture of both crispy and soft, and delicious flavor. The curries were good, could have used a bit more salt but good spice. The stars of the show were the desserts - this deserves its own section because omg I'm still thinking about the desserts!!! We got the gulab jamun brûlée - an amazingly well done take on creme brûlée with a perfect top, easy to crack and beautifully flavored. The filling was amazing and sweet and so so yummy. They also were kind enough to give us a complimentary chocolate cake which was absolutely amazing. I'm generally not too impressed by chocolate but the quality of this cake was phenomenal with perfect sweetness and richness. I need these two again !! Definitely recommend coming here for an occasion.

Indulgent and decent enough for a small serving. *vellulli kaaram paneer-3/5- lacked salt. Paneer was softish but felt a bit chewy and hard in places. *black pepper mushroom curry- 4/5- this was my favorite dish that evening. The fragrant curry leaves, earthiness of the mushroom and the black pepper created an intoxicating combination. It was floating in excess oil but was lip smacking delicious. *chilli garlic Naan: 4.5/5: I normally don't rate naan as they are non descript but the version here was wonderful. Thin, not burnt on the downside and paired oh so well with the mushroom curry. *Egg biryani- 3.5/5- this was spicy rather than being flavorful. Since it was made with egg, I didn't mind the spice.

Be warned about their 'Family Pack'. It's advertised as a family size but serves about two people, not definitely four, which is quite pricey for a 32oz bucket at $40. While the Haleem's quality justified the price as a seasonal item, the 'Family Pack' concept for biryani is poor value.
