The old man who works here full on screamed at our group when we stepped on the wood without bowling shoes. It was so aggressive that everyone in the place was spooked and thought there was an actual emergency - not cool at all and ruined our vibe. We will not be returning here. read more

Super fun local bowling alley, rarely crowded (especially during the warmer months) and the service is always fantastic. Prices are great if you come at the right times (check online) and the atmosphere is appropriately retro and fun. We recently had our daughter's 7th birthday here and it was awesome! Glow bowling with kids is a blast. We paid per child ($19.50), which included pizza, soda, 2 hours of bowling, shoes, and a bowling pin for the birthday girl's friends to sign! How fun. They also announced her birthday over the intercom and had "Happy Birthday Kaia" rotating on the score boards. She felt SO special! The staff was great. The area was all set up when we arrived, they were all super friendly, they checked in with each family as they arrived to get the children's shoes, and all the balls were set up and ready to go. The pizza and soda was served promptly and the staff checked in on us often to provide any help we needed. We're so happy we decided to do something different and have a glow bowling party. This bowling ally is the cleanest, nicest and most customer friendly bowling ally around! I have only been here one other time back in 2015 and don't remember much of our visit then, but this visit was stress free and joyful. They workers were more than willing to go above any beyond, one even brought small bowling balls to our lane for my 5 and 10 year old kids! They good was hot and fresh. Bathrooms were cleaning and fully stocked. Mind you this was at 8:30pm on a Friday. The cost was a little on the high end, but I would say it got the service we got. Horrible customer service. I just called to see how much it would be for an hour of bowling. Just to jog the guys memory.. 2:15 on this Thursday afternoon (for management). I was asking how much it would be for my 3 YO daughter, another 5 YO with 2 adults. I grew up here and Tower Lanes is slammed. It's hard to get in there. Probably because their customer service is better LOL THE GUY HUNG UP ON ME AS I WAS ASKING IF THEY HAS THE RAMP THING FOR THE KIDS. This visit was pre-COVID-19. We tried to go bowling for my nephews 10th birthday at Uncle Buck's FishBowl and Grill, but the waitlist was hours long. After driving all the way from Lynnwood, we were totally bummed out. We called around to a few bowling alleys, but everyone had leagues. We finally called Chalet Bowl and they told us to come right over. Boy are we glad we did. What a quaint and delightful bowling alley that has fantastic food and even better service. We ordered up a couple of pitchers of beers and sodas and ordered pretty much one of everything off the menu. The burger was amazing and everyone loved the pizzas. I can't think of one thing we didn't like. It was clean and once COVID-19 is over, we will be back! read more

Service was ok bot bad, bowling lanes sounded like they were going to crack (no I did not play like shot put), very small place only 12 lanes. Bowling balls were not in great conditions, the scoring machine is not accurate kept giving 2 pins even if someone buttered, when a new fresh set of pins came down always one would be missing or one would already be knocked down. Who knew bowling would be so difficult in Tacoma. After the horrible fiasco at Lucky Strike, I decided that I'd try again with the bowling. I found this little bowling alley online and they offered reasonable rates. They also boasted about how they were the oldest bowling alley in Washington. Cool. We walked in, and the guy at the desk informs me that it will be about a 20 min wait for a lane. No biggie. I head over to their restaurant/bar area and order a pitcher for myself. The girl behind the bar was extremely friendly. I mean a great personality. She really is good at her job. She asked how long I'd be in town and noticed I was from Texas on my ID and what not. The problem is, just like Lucky Strike. When our lane became available, the guy FORGOT to come get us. We sat there for an hour. When I finally asked the girl at the bar about our lane, she went and asked the guy. He admitted that since we were sitting over by the food, he forgot us. We bowled a game (I beat my 5 year old by a HUGE margin lol..go Dad) adn we left. It would have been a 5 star experience, if only the guy hadn't made us sit there and wait unecessarily. read more

This place is super tiny but for a saturday afternoon, it's the perfect alternative to all of the huge lanes with their CRAPPY GLOW BOWLING. I don't think I'll ever fully understand the appeal of shutting the lights off while bowling, but maybe i'm just not getting drunk enough when I go? Anyways, the staff is all super friendly, and the food is dirt cheap, although on this particular outing we didn't get any. Another thing worth noting is the 12 year old girl in the lane next to us who rolled 5 games in the time we rolled 2 and consistently scored in the low 170s. Ouch, my pride. I had my mom's 50th birthday party here and couldn't have been more impressed! This place is absolutely immaculate, including the bathrooms! The entire staff was wonderful to us, from the owner when planning our party, to the 3 staff members who worked the night of the party. We had all the friendly service we could ask for PLUS some, during the entire party. We had rented out the entire bowling alley and ordered appetizers for the party. The food was fresh and tasty! Every bowling alley I've ever been to has offered average service. The desk attendee always appears as if s/he wishes they were elsewhere. At Chalet bowl, the employees were enthusiastic and shockingly friendly! I can tell that the family who runs the place genuinely cares for their customers. A week before, I planned a party here over the phone. The person who answered sounded delighted to help and was courteous. The said party included a group of 15 or so loud teenagers for a birthday celebration, and everything went very smoothly, not to mention that the games were very inexpensive. My friend who was pulling a prank, was running off with my other friend's purse to hide it, looking a little suspicious. The man at the desk got up and was prepared to tackle "the perpetrator" to the ground! I can't imagine that the employees at the other local bowling alley would feel such a strong call to action. I had not been to the Chalet Bowl since 1997 - I remember paying 97 cents for games during the summer. Those were the days. I went back with friends and the place looks great. Much brighter and cleaner than I remember. It's still small so I recommend making a reservation. We only had to wait for 15 minutes at 9pm on a Tuesday night ($2 games and shoe rentals on Tuesdays). I recently organized a company event at Chalet Bowl, and it was a huge success! Working with Reggie, the owner, was a pleasure; he did everything he could to accommodate our group of 35 and to give us the best deal. We had eight lanes of bowling and ordered nachos, pizza, and salad from the cafe. While we were happy with the food, they do have limited baking capacity and could only serve about four pizzas at a time--this wasn't too problematic as everyone was focused on bowling, but it is something to be aware of if you're organizing a big group event (and Reggie did mention it ahead of time). The staff were friendly and courteous, and the environment was clean (a rarity at many of the bowling alleys I've been to previously). If you're free on a Tuesday night, definitely check out their $2 Tuesday specials. Our team had a great time at Chalet Bowl, and we'll definitely organize future events with them. read more

This was such a nice surprise! It doesn't have a lot of outside character but it does have it on the inside! When you walk in, you are faced with an endless amount of fresh sweets! The staff was friendly and everyone was willing to help, rather than those just assigned to one task. We were taken to our table through the middle of the cafe and outside of the window was a beautiful waterfall fountain with greenery. To the left is a terrace with a gorgeous carriage on top of it. To the right is a beautiful fireplace surrounded by more seating. The waitresses were friendly, prompt, and always had genuine smiles on their faces. Waitresses from different sections would come around to everyone in the restaurant to refill coffee and check on the guest. The menu had so many options from breakfast to dinner, all day. I ordered the pot roast and it was delicious! My daughter got the kids pancakes and they came out in Mickey Mouse shapes! I also happened to have a cold and they just happened to have a wonderful selection of hot tea with honey! Really a gem and I can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious food! read more

I have been coming to this bowling alley since I was 8 years old. I have never felt more welcomed and embrace then at Chalet Bowl. The family and staff is fantastic!
