Worst place ever. 2006 Mustang GT, had airbags safety recall. Set up appointment, was told both in stock. Also asked for diagnosis of engine noise, was told 180.00, no problem. Needed left rear tire fixed, slow leak, screw is in it (easy to find even with tire on car). A/C not working that great, check and fix. Also asked for a synthetic oil change. So I drop it off, they have it two days. Here are the results: Tire: Can't find any leak (ah, what about that screw?) Engine noise: They 'don't know'. Said tech couldn't hear the noise (it's there pretty much any time to hear, and loud knocking), so he changed the oil, THEN heard it, but hey, drive it 3000 miles, then you can come in and pay more money to maybe get a quote on a fix! I'm not stupid, what you are saying, is you changed the oil before any diagnosis, so now you don't want your bosses to see you take that hit, with having to drain it to look into the problem. A/C: Compressor and evap bad, so I paid for new ones and what it looks like is 2 charges (since apparently the diagnosis required them charging me for filling it up, and the diagnosis itself, of course). After leaving with car, the engine is putting out this LOUD sound, at one point when I goosed it a it, I thought it was going to physically break something. Turn off A/C, that noise is gone. So I get home and open hood and check, and sure enough, it's the compressor. Airbags: Ooops, ends up we don't have the drivers side after all, you're going to have to come back. Also, when at home, I then notice scuffing on the horn button cover on steering wheel, and it's on shifted off to the side. On top of that, there is a charge own there of like $47 or something, no idea how that happens when it's "FREE". So I call, she's gone - no problem, everybody has a shift. I leave a voicemail. I get the next day a system generated text that after the part is in, I can come in and get the A/C noise looked at, and the airbag installed. Call today, get past the let me connect you hits, start setting up an appointment, girl hangs up on me. I wait a few minutes, figure I get a call back. Nope. Call again, go through the same thing, with a different person. So at this point, I am only hoping I can get the airbag in, and A/C noise fixed, and get away from these people, as I had a $1300 oil change so far. I'm sure they won't even bother to give a crap about their tech scuffing up my horn cover/button. I work at a large company right next to them, so figured shop Rio Rancho, but with this, I'll certainly be telling to stay away from Don Chalmers at all costs. read more

Took my 2008 f250 diesel I for a possible exhaust leak which I had mentioned to them and also for Freon added a/c blowing out warm air and no leaks to be seen anywhere well 2 days later they called yup need freon and yes you have an exhaust leak broken bolt on manifold causing this noise that I here charging 1.4 hrs each to figure this out ( wow) and I mentioned I needed my truck back by the 19th of this month they said they couldn't do that because cab had to be lifted off the frame for this work which they have done previous times and every time they did they broke something on my truck , pinched wires, broke power steering reservoir, left main wiring harness still tied to steering column shaft with reinforced electrical tape which I almost had a bad accident due to this was lucky but jacked up wiring harness which they had to replace , reconnect radiator hoses and was pulling Rv trailer on camping trip bottom radiator hoses literally blew off radiator losing all water/coolant in the middle of no where due to improper connection to radiator and list goes on and for just to check Freon and exhaust bolt nothing else over $500.00 and if I wanted to get this work done would be in a few weeks over $3600 dollars told them that's in sane to begin with cost for diagnostics did have it out with service advisor he did talk to mngmt which of coarse they can't do anything about any cost I have taken my truck in for other things some miner oil change , fuel filters etc but this was nuts after basically telling them already what was going on I know they have protocol but with all the business I have given them. Well I will not be going back to chalmers ford again I have had my truck repaired already with less than 1/2 the cost that chalmers quoted me and the cab did not have to come off. All is well I have my truck back . Was actually thinking of buying another truck from chalmers before all this happened recently but not anymore no way no how. My vehicle had a loud squeak and rattling noise from front suspension. I took it to another Ford dealership on three other occasions for this issue. They kept my vehicle for over a week each time and never resolved the issue. Stated they tightened up a few things. The last time I took it was the worst. After keeping the vehicle for 5 days and through a weekend, they were unable to locate a problem and I discovered our vehicle was used as a personal ride during the weekend. Upon returning home, I found that the backseat floors were covered in mud, the back seat console was pulled down and beverage spilled in the cup holders. This was alarming since we have never had anybody ride in our backseat since purchasing the vehicle. I reported this to an agent and was told the service manager would contact me which never happened. I decided to take car to Chalmers and had a very professional and pleasing experience there. The agent, Melvin assured they would find the problem. He kept me updated by phone and text everyday while the repairs were in progress. He informed me the following day they found the problem and expedited parts for the repair. As promised, he had the car finally fixed and back in my hands within 3 days. The issue is now resolved and I couldn't be more pleases with the overall response and experience with Chalmers. I will never take my vehicle to Power Ford again! read more

I bought my wife's vehicle in last minute cause it was giving her problems and wasn't driving as it should. Dealerships are the last place I ever like to consider because of past experience and service provided. This time around I have to admit it. I received the best service I ever had in a long long time. Our service advisor Trent Durham was helpful, honest and informative from the beginning. He took complete notes of what we were experiment with our vehicle checked our vehicle for any recalls, or additional issue and informed us of them explained in detail what each was. He even provided us of all warranty coverages we still had on the vehicle without us asking. To me that is what excellent service is about. ... needless to Trent took care of us. We didn't have to twist arms, come back serveral times or even ask to speak to another advisor just to get answers. I have to I was impressed. Our Advisor took care of everything and gave us no run around he changed everything that was required and it all was under warranty. Can't get any better than that. He provided valuable tips after the service and addressed any concerns we had. He even explained what was going with the vehicle and why it was happening. The service we received from. I recently purchased a new Ford F-150 from Don Chalmers Ford. I've driven Ford trucks for many years and have dealt with Don Chalmers for many of those years. My service advisor is Diana Treat. She is great to deal with! I had been looking for a truck with specific features for some time. None of the local dealers could find exactly what I was looking for. A couple turned me off with their sales tactics. I dealt with salesperson Michell Royle mostly, along with Eric Adlesperger who is the Sales Manager. I ended up having the truck ordered with exactly what I wanted and nothing that I didn't want. Michell was efficient, pleasant and professional throughout the process. Eric and Michell explained all my options clearly. They offered me the truck at what I felt was a fair price. They kept me regularly informed of the status of my order. Trent was the gentleman that worked with me when I brought my car in. There were a few factory recalls I scheduled to have completed as well as an oil change. I was also experiencing problems with a severe vibration going on which made it very loud while inside my car. Trent stayed in contact with me on a daily basis to keep me up to date. He and the Ford team did a fine job diagnosing the cause of the vibration and the loudness inside my car. Trent also let me know the problems would be covered by my extended warranty. That was a huge relief considering what the bill would have come to as an out of pocket expense. I wouldn't say it was a perfect experience because there were some issues with the parts that were needed to resolve the vibration/loudness situation. My car was in the shop for 9 days instead of the anticipated 5 I was originally quoted. Due to problems with shipping, and the fact Trent reached out to me every day, I don't feel I can hold that against the Don Chalmers team. Hence I feel they have earned the 5 star rating I have provided. read more

Usually, I am reluctant to have any service work performed at the dealership, as the prices are usually higher than at local mechanics. However, due to a recall on my 2015 C-Max, I was forced to go to your dealership. And boy was I surprised! Mark was unbelievable, professional & friendly. The kind of guy with whom I would have a beer (if I drank alcohol, which I don't). Anyway, he told me my car would be ready in 1 hour (which it was) and kept in touch with me while I was waiting. Since I am in the sales and service industry, I base my decision to work with companies on my experience. If it's bad, they will never see me again. If it's great, I'll be a long-term customer. (For example, before I moved to NM, I used the same car repair company for over 30 years) It's safe to say I will continue to have my service performed at your location. One more thing. I noticed one of the technicians refilled my windshield wiper fluid, which is a courtesy I rarely see. So, KUDOs to the Chalmers service team and thanks for your great service. read more

Our sales experience from beginning to end was unbelievably exceptional. Ryan was extremely patient with us and tenacious in finding the right vehicle for us. He asked great questions, was professional, friendly, and we would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a vehicle. The finance process was unbelievably swift and thorough. Jackie was so helpful, so concise, and helped us move through the financing portion quickly. Big Sexy, el Pollo, gave us the best delivery ever. He was funny, thorough, kind, and you could tell he is a professional and passionate about what he does. The whole process was long, it was late, and having his humor and kindness at the end of the night was refreshing! To round it out, we appreciated Katie and the other receptionists who welcomed us warmly and the sweet lady who let us break into the service guys snacks stash to give our 6 year old a snack. Wonderful car shopping and buying experience! We had terrible experiences with Roswell Ford, so we visited Don Chalmers after seeing the great reviews. We worked with Glenn Aldrich to find a 2016 Ford Fusion - we had specific requests for what we wanted and a very firm price point. Glenn was great! He found a few options for us, all well within our price point, and never pressured us to go higher in price etc. After Glenn determined that we were eligible for the 0% APR (amazing!), we had to wait 2.5 hours for a room to open up so we could go over the terms with the finance person. This was a bit of a pain, however we were car shopping on a Saturday from an apparently very popular place! It was still worth it to buy from Don Chalmers Ford, even with the wait. Plus Glenn kept us occupied with popcorn Great experience overall - I highly recommend this dealer to anyone in the area! read more

I highly recommend Chalmers Ford. I had been having a problem with my 2017 Ford Expedition. It would periodically go into "Limp" mode when the yellow wrench warning light came on. I contacted the service department at Chambers Ford and was put into touch with Trent Durham, the service adviser. He told me the next time it happened to give him a call. I called him at 7:30 on a weekday morning as I was going to the airport with little time to spare. He said to bring it in and he would check it. When I arrived around 8:00 A.M., he was waiting for me, immediately diagnosed the problem, and told me to bring it in the next day and he would work me into the schedule even though I didn't have an appointment. I was able to catch my flight and since I was returning the same evening was able to get it fixed the next day. Great service. Ask for Trent if you are having a problem with your Ford. read more

My Mother and I went here to looking buy a cheap used car, as she had very recently purchased from this dealership, a used Explorer that despite being her pride and joy wasted gasoline like the government with our tax money. So off we went to seek out a used Ford of some sort. Nothing pricey, as we were paying cash and wanted something to to get from point A to B. So we called Don Chalmers Ford. We were told they had only two cars in our price range (under $6k). We took a look and while its not my dream car I didnt expect it to be. I ended up settling on a Chrysler Sebring. It what was what I needed.....so cash we paid and now its ours (well, technically mine.lol) The car was a great deal and I will probably be going back next year to get another car if I opt not to keep this one . I have always thought Chalmers had the best service in town. Recently I brought in my 2015 F-350 a $50,000 vehicle that had a issue with the backup camera it would randomly not work and be blurry. The bumper to bumper warranty was just about up with a thousand miles left. After leaving it they said it was fine and had moisture. I knew this was not the case as it did it literally right when I got home. Using this truck for work I had no time to bring it back in and find a ride. Now a month later the camera does not work at all and the warranty is out all because they where to lazy to fix the truck right or order the required parts. I would not Recommend them for any service issues as I had a Friend have a similar experience right after me. Stay away. You figure if you spend $50,000 on a vehicle they would honor the warranty and fix the concerns. Nope. read more

I had to take my 2012 Ford Fusion in because the Advancetrac light kept coming on intermittently. Come to find out it is the "brains of the brake system" as the way Mark put it. Mark in the Service Dept is by far one of the nicest men I have met and dealt with in a longgggg time. He was very friendly. He was very easy to talk to. He did not twist my arm and blatantly not treat me like I was another "chump" woman walking in the door. He knew that I needed answers and wanted to make an informed decision-meaning he broke everything down for me as to what the problem was, what I was going to need to fix it, and an estimate of what it was going to cost to fix the issue. I recently leased a 2015 Escape from Don Chalmers. Everyone was fantastic, from the sales people to F&I to the delivery department. Many thanks to Amy, Torie and Jackie for all their assistance and putting up with me. I had a really hard time making a decision between the Escape and the Focus and the different options/colors they had on the lot. They patiently ran the numbers over and over, answered all of my questions and researched anything I needed to know. Torie, in particular, walked around the lot with me in the pouring rain, and helped me get both my new and my old vehicle home since I wasn't trading in my old truck. Chalmers is not at all convenient for me, but it was well worth the extra drive time to work with folks who really cared about providing excellent customer service. My friend brought me his Explorer for a problem with the transfer case. I couldn't figure it out so I thought I would be a nice guy and take it to the dealer to figure it out. They called me back and said it was all fixed and it would cost $186.00 for repairs. so I payed them . Got in the vehicle and it was doing the exact same thing. Took it back. The woman at the service counter assured me they would get to the bottom of it. kept it for 4 more days. I finally called them and they said they could NOT get it to act up. I picked it up and it was doing it immediately. So I called the service manager and told him I couldn't charge my friend $186.00 for not fixing his car but they had no problem charging me to not fix the car. he said he would let me know what they were going to do about this. Just bought a used vehicle from them. The whole staff was very friendly, they were able to help me with getting a vehicle. Me and my friend kept changing our minds on which vehicle we were gonna get (i'm sure we were pretty frustrating at some point) but the salesman (Alfred) was very patient with us and helped us with getting the right vehicle for me the whole day. THE WHOLE DAY. After choosing the right vehicle, after 10 hours of struggling, the finance manager (John) was able to help me out with financing the vehicle with the best option that i could afford. He went over all the different warranty options and explained everything step by step letting me know what i could do to get help with the vehicle if something breaks down. I brought my car in for service and had a small issue with the work that was done. I brought it to Chad the service managers attention and was amazed by the response I got. Not only did he genuinely care about my concerns but he really dug into my case. He even found and corrected some internal procedures in the service department to prevent future issues for other customers. Things happen and it is all about how a company deals with them. The customer service and integrity at Don Chalmers was refreshing and wonderful to see and should be a benchmark for all customer service based businesses. They did not give me excuses or empty apologies, they took action and made it right.
