A few months later, brand new vehicle issue comes up "oh well your car has to do 6 cart wheels and 15 jumping jacks before we cover that issue so you will have to pay $78000.93 to repair that nail in your tire" it's all a joke. They dont take anything you need serious, you're alway redirected for your issue and they sell you on this shit that apparently has all this fine print, but you wouldnt know because you dont have the full agreement paperwork, they do. If you want a brand new Ford, go somewhere else. For your own sake. read more

We were referred to Don Chalmers due to the first responder discounts available. What we thought would be a great deal and a great car has turned into anything but that. We had to go back and forth to the dealership over 4 times to get repairs done within the first month of our purchase. We were constantly provided with incorrect information. The ONLY helpful employee was Mike Michnuk, who made an honest effort to make things right. Fast forward 6 months and now our Explorer is leaking oil. We took it in and were told the oil filter was loose. Simple fix, or so we thought. Less than a week later, our new car is leaking oil all over our garage. I called back to the same service advisor, Trent Durham, and left a message. When he called back, he couldn't even address me over the telephone by my name, and instead just asked who the account was under. He then explained to me that the vehicle should NOT be leaking oil, as if he wasn't believing us. When he spoke with my husband, he stated that we were almost due for an oil change, and attempted to get us to pay for an oil change. This was against the manufacturer's recommendation of 10k miles, according to our manual and our Ford app, which stated we were only halfway to that point. Instead of FIXING a warranty item on the first visit, their laziness failed to diagnose the problem and they want us to pay out of pocket for an unnecessary oil change. After arguing back and forth with my husband and going against what the manufacturer states, several phone calls later, Trent agreed to inspect the vehicle, AS SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE THE FIRST TIME! Now, we are out both time and money with traveling back and forth and having to take time off work to get what should've been a SIMPLE repair done the first time. This is EXACTLY what happened when we purchased the vehicle and we are BEYOND frustrated with the lack of professionalism on Don Chalmer's part, with the exception of Mr. Michnuk. We would've hoped that a business that prides itself in supporting law enforcement and the military would treat its customers better, but we were sorely mistaken. I normally hate having to take my car in, but the gentlemen at Quicklane on Coors and I-40 were all so nice, courteous and honest. While I waited for my car to be serviced, the attendant handed me the remote and took the time to wipe it down with a Clorox wipe! I give these guys a big fat "D" The only reason they're not getting an "F" is because a few employees were helpful. Rarely, if ever, have I experienced such rudeness and a lack of professionalism on the part of the leadership of a company. Aside from having to repeatedly bring in, for repairs, the used truck i had just purchased, I was given the run-around and deliberately sent on wild goose chases to track down what should have been routine paperwork of these repairs. Perhaps worst of all, I could not get a response from management regarding this and other legitimate concerns, some of which involved safety issues surrounding the truck. I still didn't get a response after being insulted in an email thread from the Used Vehicle Director, Brad Poole. This guy, I think, must have graduated from the Mullet School of Customer Service. It was only after emailing the entire leadership at Don Chalmers, (that I found on their web site) that someone, apparently, got their wrist slapped and I received some token acknowledgement. The poor customer service left me feeling angry and frustrated. The entire experience was awful and I will never go back. This is ironic because I'm exactly the type of customer Don Chalmers should be cultivating. I've got a great paying job and a stellar credit rating, with the potential to be buying vehicles for years to come. A very disappointing place. We went there to buy a Transit and the salesman was very uninformative. We had to get our Transit sent from Utah and we kept calling and the salesman would never call us back. When the Transit arrived, they had lost the key! We had to wait several days while they rekeyed it...and no one would call to say what was happening! After we got the key, the door keypad didn't work, then the keyfob didn't work! All these things had to be dealt with at separate appointments. We had ordered (and paid for) running boards which they ordered, then again no one would call to say what was going on! We finally requested our money back for the running boards and had them done at Trucks Unique. This experience at Chalmers tells us never to go there again! read more

I brought in my new Ford and I was immediately greeted by an advisor. I told him my issue and he immediately took at look at it. He then took me to a new person, Floyd, who was learning the position. Floyd was very friendly and was learning from his co-worker on how to place the work order. I was checked in the service area and done within 15 mins. Floyd called me the next day to explain the issue, that the problem was fixed, and I was able to pick up the vehicle the next day. read more

Caution! I had been searching all over using car gurus, auto trader and others. When I decide, I inquire about a vehicle and was told it was currently in the process of getting purchased by someone but if the financing weren't approved, I would be notified. Sure enough, I was notified on the following day that the truck "was mine to buy". I was sent a "Purchase Agreement" which I signed and returned. The sales agent informed me that they would hold for a couple of days so I reserved a one-way rental for the following morning. When I informed the sales agent that I would be on my way shortly, he said wait and I did for several hours and changed my travel plans, El Paso TX to Albuquerque NM, and found a ride with a family member for that evening so I could be there on Saturday morning,. Later that day after contacting the Ford Dealership, I was told the truck was gone. It seems to me that "Poor Communication" is an issue between Sales Personnel and the Sales Managers. I am not too surprised because after visiting Ford Dealerships in the area, Sales Managers seem to avoid you and never make eye- contact. read more

Im giving a star because I have to. This is the worse dealership in New Mexico. I had my truck in service department for bad tranny. This is a 2013 Ford F150 ecoboost. Was told tranny was blown, this is after two rear ends going bad. LEMON!!! Well I decided to trade in vehicle and give them a chance to change things around and what you know. Jim the sales manager who is a joke tried to make me pay 12000 more for a vehicle that wasn't worth it. This is just beginning of the nightmare me and my wife went through. First I want to say, the staff at Chalmers has always been great! I bought my vehicle from them in Dec of 2015, and have taken it there for service ever since. Fast forward to Dec of 2018, and I notice my transmission isn't shifting. Completely lost power and called over to Power Ford because I was (unfortunately) down the street from them and had no choice but to limp my vehicle in there. It was a Sat, two weeks before Christmas. From the very get go, the service I received and the way I was treated were sub parr- my vehicle sat over there for almost a month with very little updates. Long story- I get my vehicle back and was told there was only one transmission tech at Power Ford- and they were down other techs, etc. Blah blah blah. About another month goes by and I only drive my vehicle on the weekends and to the gym in the early morning. I noticed a large pool of what looked like transmission fluid. I hadn't seen it as I back in the garage and walk in around the back. Turns out the entire undercarriage was soaked through with fluid. I immediately drove over to Chalmers and met JC, who has always helped me in the past. I had updates, daily, and was told my vehicle wasn't even put back together properly. There were bolts missing, rusty ones in places there shouldn't have been and the best part- was metal shavings inside the clutch box which was supposed to have been replaced. That metal had contaminated the entire system and everything needed to be flushed. I had almost no fluid left in my transmission. I was taken back to see my vehicle and shown what was actually wrong. JC and the service techs were amazing and kept me in the loop even though another Ford dealership nearly cost me my vehicle. JC also provided me a loaner vehicle and got me back in my Explorer in a week. .... I will always go back as long as these guys are there! John Anderson is a liar. If I could give ZERO stars, I would. He is the most unprofessional sales manager I have ever met in my life. I signed a purchase agreement for a vehicle and drove 65 miles to finalize everything and pick it up. When I arrived I was told it had already been sold. Not by him, but from a sales person. I was lied to. But they couldn't tell me that over the phone. They couldn't tell me days before. They waited until I drove all the way down there to get it. He was rude and very unfriendly. I would have given them no stars if I could. We took our vehicle in for trade in and when they took it out for test drive they cracked the dashboard. Apparently they tried to force open the space saver under the cd player and when they realized it shouldn't be forced, they slammed it shut and cracked the dash on either side of the player. We didn't make the trade and less than 24 hours later we noticed the crack. No one else drove the vehicle in the interim. To make matters worse, when we confronted them, they denigned it and said that could never happen. Of course it did. Apparently they work on alternative facts. I'd just like to voice how disappointed and shocked I am at the overall lack of service and plain disrespect I've recently experienced at Don Chalmers Service Department. My family and I have been loyal, long term customers, but now I don't even feel comfortable bringing my car here for a basic tune up. It began when I took my car in for an oil change, the technician had found that my water pump and possibly my turbo was leaking and made a note of it, however upon checking out, the gentlemen at the front failed to tell me about it and said everything was fine, but I looked over the checkout papers, asked him about it and all he said was "oh yeah thanks for noticing that, you should probably get that checked out". I immediately took it over to the service department and had it scheduled to be taken care of. I took it back the next morning to have the water pump replaced and the turbo looked at as well as a few recalls, it took over a week until our car was finally returned. Once it was returned, I noticed that my engine cover was missing. When I called to inform my service tech it was almost impossible to get ahold of him, I ended up just speaking with the front desk lady who had informed me that my cover was "in fact at the shop and that we could come back to get it". I went back to get it and everything seemed to be fine, until less than a week later when my car shut off because it had completely lost coolant, due to the technicians failing to tighten down the hoses they had replaced on my turbo and water pump. In addition to my engine being put at risk, I noticed when inspecting the leak that they had also forgot to put my scrap plate back on. I called as soon as they opened and had my car towed to the shop. At that point is when I was told that my "car would be fine, the hoses just weren't tightened enough and that it was fixed"...finally, hopefully? My car had completely shut off, due to them doing poor work. I lost all power steering and breaks. Thankfully I was in a safe place, but what if I wasn't? That could have put me in real danger due to their negligence. Now that my car was actually fixed, I asked about my scrap plate, to which I got a total run around, but in conclusion was told that they had actually "thrown it away and they would order me a new one". Well they did, and of course that took forever too and it took me calling them multiple times to even get ahold of the tech. I just got it back yesterday. In addition to having them replace my scrap plate, I also requested that they check my car because it has died 3 times since they've worked on it, which has been concerning after all the other stuff they messed up. It turns out it was just the battery though, at least I was told and hope that's actually the case, so I had that replaced as well. But, once it was returned after all of that, the tech that brought my car out from the back said he heard a pop in the tire, and sure enough he ran over a screw. And to top it all off, everyone in the service center that could fix it was apparently gone for the day, they told me I had to go over to the quicklane and they could fix it for me over there. I took it over there, and the gentlemen in the service department hadn't even called to let them know I was coming so I had reason with the quicklane guy to even have it fixed. Originally, he had told me they wouldn't even be able to do it. At this point I'm just so exhausted, I'm a full time student and work two jobs, my time is valuable and I don't appreciate being thrown around like that with no regard for my time. It's plain disrespectful and just really disappointing. I like the ease of going here as well as the familiarity, but now I don't feel comfortable and simply don't have the confidence in them to know what on earth they are doing. I really hope my car is actually fixed now. Please address this?! I really used to believe in you guys! read more

The whole team from service (Diana) to parts are great. I shopped around on price and wasted my time. The dealership knows what they are doing and the price is not much of a difference compared to going to bargain location.
