This place is a "Rip Off" They reneged on the price of the vehicle after I took delivery so I couldn't do anything about it. Buyers beware

This was my first visit here. Recently I moved from Phoenix AZ and was looking for a Ford dealership to get my services done. After trying another place in town and have a bad experience I decided to go here. Trent in service department went above and beyond my expectations to take care of a sensor issue that my truck had. He had the part that we needed in less than 24 hours and had me back on the road. Not to mention while their shuttle service was swamped with transporting customers he ordered a Lyft service to pick me up and take me back to the dealership so I can have my truck back faster. My husband and I went in to look at buying a new Ford F150. As we went in we were warmly greeted and asked if we needed a sales person to walk us out to the lot. We declined the initial offer saying we'd like to browse and bit first which was not a problem. The lovely lady behind the desk then asked if it would be ok to send a sales person out in a a few minutes to check on us which we agreed to. As we browsed the lot looking at the trucks my husband and I were impressed with the selection. We found a really nice truck in our price range and were just about to head back in to get a sales person when David walked up to greet us. David was a joy to work with, he walked us through our purchase from initial meet and greet all the way until we took delivery of the truck and went home. David's friendly demeanor and easy going banter made our purchase fun. David even stayed well past the end of his shift to make sure we were taken care of. He was very kind to my daughters, bringing them cold water and popcorn throughout to make sure they were happy. David went above and beyond, I highly recommend him to be your sales person. We traded in two cars and got what I believe what fair value for them. There was no low balling or attempts to "trash talk" our vehicles. Once we finished the negotiations we were handed off to Jacki in financing. Jacki is sweet and wonderfully efficient. It was getting late and she made going through financing a breeze. From the time we agreed to the terms to the time we signed our paperwork and received our keys it about 35 minutes. By far this was the quickest we'd ever gone through financing, we've usually had to wait for hours. Jacki was proficient, detail oriented and above all (even though it was late and I'm sure she was tired) kind. The guys in the shop were awesome, they'd cleaned the truck from top to bottom, had it gassed and ready to go. They walked us though the truck to point out any imperfections and when we did find one quickly compensated us for it. We found a small scrape on a door panel and they gave a lovely custom dash mat as compensation. We were walked through the trucks options and electronics and had all our questions answered. No one rushed us or made us feel like we were a bother even though it was passed closing at this point. Overall I cannot recommend Don Chalmers enough. This is our 3rd car we've bought from them, our first new one and it was a wonderfully pleasant experience. read more

This dealership is quite local to me. I bought two cars from them in the past 10 years. When you walk into the dealership, you don't get the feeling that the sales people are going to crowd you with questions like some other places. The staff greets you warmly, they listen to your needs, even if it is to only browse potential cars/trucks. I appreciate the fact that the sales people I have come into contact with have always listened to my needs and then suggested options to meet them. I recently purchased a used Toyota 4Runner from here and everyone was very helpful. Charles was my car dealer, super nice and respectful. John the finance guy was also great and thorough. I had a good experience with both of them. Two things I want to note though. It was a little after 5pm when Charles called over to see how many people were in front of me to meet with John. Whoever he spoke with told him 2-3 people were before me which would keep me there until about 9:30 or later. I knew I couldn't get in the next two days and then they're closed on Sunday's so it was going to have to be on Monday or later that I'd have to come back in. I said I'd wait and have it all done tonight. LATER we found out there was only one person in front of me and that the guy was joking with him. Not a fan of that bc I would have been stressing about driving back out there again later the next week to finish the purchase if I said I couldn't wait. Second, I was very disappointed in the final cleanup of the car after all the paper work was done. There were still marks and bug guts on the car and there was animal hair all in the interior. The interior windshield was also poorly cleaned. I've bought used cars before and dealerships have made them look brand new all the way down to the smell. read more

I don't drive Fords, I probably never will, but if I did, there's a 99.9% chance of me purchasing it here at Don Chalmers Ford. For one, the service is outstanding. Their salesmen aren't pushy and try their best to work with your budget. My other half - total opposite from yours truly - happens to be a huge Ford guy. When he and I walked into the dealer together (after checking out a few others in town) we knew it was special right from the start. Don and Marcus deserve equal credit for this review. They listened, they went above and beyond their line of service and were patient. Extremely patient with a customer who had been researching a vehicle for weeks now. When the deal was made it made me think about all the times I had to buy a car and nothing really came close or was as quick as the process we experienced at Don Chalmers Ford. He gave me an appointment time and said his teammate would come pick up my car and deliver it back when completed. It was same day service! The customer service level was top notch! Each experience I've had at Chalmers Ford has been a positive one! I've used their service team many times and have now purchased two brand new cars from them in the past 3 years. Dave Piazza helped me find the right solution to an issue I was dealing with for my teenage son and a blown engine on his newly purchased, used truck. It was not the most positive reason to have to go buy a car, but the experience was all very good and I would recommend Don Chalmers Ford to those who want to "enjoy" the car buying experience. They are predatory lenders. Do your homework. Read your paperwork. The hidden fees and trying to have me sign papers that my rate may change after I sign loan docs, helllll no!!! With an 821 credit score. They refused to show me an approval. Claimed all fees, taxes and warranties were included in truck price. Pushed a truck on me. At the last wire, they tried to slip in about $5,000 in warranty after verbally stating it was in the price. Women, be so careful. So dirty and filthy. It was an egregious, horrible experience. Sales person, David Piazza, was great. Very low key. Credit person was good, but didn't explain the cost for nitrogen in the tires. I would have declined that if I knew the cost. Delivery department was very poor. My new car was given to me dirty - the inside wasn't cleaned, there was sticky stuff all over the windows, they lost my valet keys and couldn't set up my Ford pass. I have had to take the car back twice and the service department and delivery department still can't figure out the Ford pass. These are the reasons for a 3 rating. read more

A DEN OF THIEVES!!! Be sure to read every word of the contract before you sign it. It took 5 hours to purchase a new 2017 Ford Fiesta (my credit is in the mid 800's.) The salesman lied about the warranty. Then the "business manager" added a $1600 extended warranty to the contract w/o my permission, and when I asked for a refund, it took two and a half months of constant calls. I complained to the general manager, Gary Housley, who offered me platitudes and brushed off the whole experience. My trade in was a four yr. old Ford Fusion lemon with 900 miles on it that cost a fortune to maintain because the manufacturer's warranty "just didn't cover it." Stay away from Chalmers unless you bring a lawyer with you. read more

Great service team, had my 2016 Ford F150 in for a recall service and had my Sync upgraded to play Android Auto. Don Chambers was the only local Ford dealership that seem to know about doing the upgrade and it was completed at a fair price. My truck has a 100000 mile/5 year bumper to bumper warranty and this dealership will get my business when my truck needs serving. read more

So I've been working with Don Chalmers Ford for 20 years. I have purchased 3 vehicles over the years from this dealership. I went this morning to meet with Josh about purchasing a Ford F-150. We had already hammered out the price according to the stats that were posted on Don Chalmers website (www.donchalmersford.com). When I started to look over the vehicle, I found some information giving me the idea that this was a Texas truck, no real problem, but the website stated 3 miles on the odometer. When I got behind the wheel and started the truck, the truck showed 415 miles!!!!! Not 3 miles. And of course, they were not willing to budge on price! Buyer beware! Do your research before shopping here or they will rip you off! I was looking to trade in my 2013 Mustang for a used F150. Kelly Blue Book valued my Mustang at just under $14,000. But the dealer uses a different method to value your vehicle. They entered all my information into Autotrader and it spit out a number over $4000 below Kelly Blue Book! So I asked if they could run their F150 through Autotrader to get a fair assessment of its value and they refused! They completely gave me the runaround, even showing me posters and a video of how 'sophisticated' their method is of finding the value of their vehicles. So I decided to run their F150 through Autotrader myself and the results were $7000 below their asking price!! On top of this, we were there almost 4 hours and the salesman never asked how we were doing, never offered to get us a drink, and we even had to buy our own soda from the vending machine. Had been working a deal on a truck since Friday, kept asking the sales person what was the hold up - we kept getting they are just really busy. Monday rolls around and still no response. Took many texts and calls to find out another sales person sold the truck this morning. Hard to believe we were told this truck would be on hold until we received an answer. Thanksgiving Day 2018 I blew a tire on Highway 40 west of Albuquerque, NM. So scary!!! On Black Friday I found wonderful and courteous service from Raymond at Don Chalmers Ford in Rio Rancho. He sold me a tire and put it on the front, basically rotating my tires. He also checked the air and told me about needing more air in cold weather. He was a kind and reassuring presence for a frightened senior citizen. Thank you, Raymond!! You really were a hero! read more

Avoid Don Chalmers, period. Do not get your vehicle serviced or repaired at this place. We were patient and gave the Collision and Don Chalmer's the opportunity to fix a very shady ordeal (after an accident in Jan 19 we brought our Taurus there to be fixed only to have welds RUST in just over a year AND a piece that was billed and said to have been replaced NEVER done) and this compromised the safety of our vehicle! Once this was discovered we gave the dealership the opportunity to correct this and that was a nightmare. Obtaining a loaner vehicle took hours, communication with the Collision Dept manager and the Operations Director was sub-par. Upon letting them correct the egregious work, we bring home our Taurus to have our car battery completely drained! We had everything checked before dropping off our vehicle as we had little faith and sure enough come to find additional issues unrelated to the work! I'll be taking our experience to the attorney general as we had other repair work done in the past and other vehicle parts break as I find it difficult at this point that it was coincidental. read more
