Been to other Champion locations and all of them have been good so decided to try this one since my friend wanted pizza. They have a deal where you get two cheese slices with a can of soda for $5.99 so I got that. These places usually have iced tea or something not soda for a can option but this one only had soda or water for the drink choices with this deal. That's why I took one star off. Where's the iced tea?? lol! The pizza was good. A little greasy but I am one of those that dabs it with a napkin to get the excess grease off. No hate! Everyone is different. I also don't want stuff dripping down my hands while I'm trying to eat. I try to avoid mess. Anyway, pizza was good and I did enjoy it. Crust was soft and not rock hard like some places. This is a nice little hole in the wall pizza shop. A decent sized menu of pizzas and some additional non-pizza fare for those not looking for a slice of goodness. I flew here and arrived late at night, so I was hard pressed to find a place open late for dinner after a long day of travel. Glad this place is open till midnight. There were still a good selection of slices ready to go when I arrived here past 10 pm, such as buffalo chicken, cheese, pepperoni, etc. I had to ask what some of the slices were since I haven't seen them in other pizza places before. The workers were nice and friendly enough to explain to me what they were. I decided to get a slice of BBQ chicken and a slice of cheese with some additional garlic knots. My sister got a slice of the white cheese pizza (not sure if that's what it's called) and a slice of chicken parm. The pizzas were nicely warmed up for me before I got them, but by the time I walked back to my hotel, they were just barely warm. Still, the slices were nice and tasty. The BBQ chicken was a nice surprise since the BBQ sauce was cold compared to the rest of the pizza. It's like they put the sauce on after the pizza was baked even though it wasn't. The temperature contrast made for an exhilarating flavor profile with the sweetness of the sauce itself. The cheese was just like your everyday cheese slice. A good comfort food choice when you're not feeling too fancy for extra toppings. The crusts for both seemed crisper than I would have expected, possibly due to the reheating process or the cooling that happened during my walk back to the hotel. It's not a bad thing, just not what I was expecting. All in all, a solid choice to get your pizza fix on. I was skeptical coming in, as the parlor nearby had more customers. But never judge a book by its cover remains to be a classic saying, as this place was great! The worker was very kind, helping us to ultimately choose a Large Pie with mix toppings of Margherita and Sausage and Mushroom (~$25). This is a pretty rare option, as I have been tied to only 1 topping per pie in other stores. The pizza was so satisfying, with the perfect cheese pull and crust. The crust was not chewy at all! The Margherita Pizza was on the sweeter side, not the best I had, but it was still very well sauced. There is also something in their tomato sauce, as it stood out from the rest! They also did not skimp out on any toppings. Champion is sure to fix up any late night pizza needs! Stopped by here as they have just opened. Love that they have pizzas on display and you can pick and choose which one you want. It's on the same block as Lucia's Pizza so competition is picking up! As for the slices, the toppings were plentiful and flavorful. However the crust was a bit too hard for my liking - perhaps it got cold on my walk home. But I will try their round slices next time and see how they compare. All in all, I would def come back and try their other pizzas! I also noticed they have chicken sandwiches as well as wings. I placed a grub hub order for a 5:30 pickup. Came a little early (5:15) to see if it would be available. They said 10 minutes. Sure. I knew I was early and willing to wait. 5:30 comes and nobody calls me. Check in and they said it would be 6 more minutes. It's now 5:50 and it's still going to be another 5 minutes. Pizza was okay. I got a lot of slices to try but I felt that there just wasn't enough sauce on any of the slices. Thin crust pizza isn't usually my favorite but I wanted to give it another try. I feel that the crust didn't have much flavor overall. I really enjoyed the pesto Margherita pizza though. The pesto flavor was great and there was enough sauce on the slice. We ended up ordering the margherita pesto, meat lover, pepperoni and mushroom, buffalo chicken, and the mac and cheese, because there were some slices that they did not have available. I love pepperoni and this is the first time I've tried the cup shaped ones. The result: salty and acidic and rather cold. Not ideal. - Margherita: Their bestseller is a rather solid cold slice of pizza with visible parmesan sprinkled on top. Tastes a bit congealed. - Pineapple and Bacon: The highlight of this slice was the pineapple. A lot of different pizza options, although there are many of them that have some form of bacon or ham in it. My favorite is the pepperoni pizza - they put a lot of pepperoni and very crunchy. The plain pizza is decent. Service is great- the people will let you know how long the pizza will take if not available, and sometimes may reheat the pizza again for you even though it came out from the oven 10 minutes ago. Ambiance is quite nice- they have a lot of pictures of celebrities with the owner, or articles about his charity efforts and such, which can keep you occupied. Pizza is average. I didnt like the tatse of the dough. My chicken roll fell apart because the dough is so weak. Also $4 for a plain slice is a little too much. I wanted a specific slice chicken parm and I was told they will not bring it out because there is no space to place it, yet there was plenty of space.(check out picture) workers seem overwhelmed and disorganized. Forgets who ordered what when it gets busy since its a new place they need to schedule more workers. I tried this specific place 3times before rating. Astoria champion is way better for some reason this one doesn't taste the same. The pros are that the Decor is cute and many different option of slices. Last weekend, I went to Flushing to stock up for the New Year. I found that the super popular Champion Pizza opened in Manhattan next to the Mainst subway station. I caught up with the opening pizza donation event. After a friend's introduction, I saw the founder Hakki Akdeniz also personally entertaining people in the store. The boss with 28 million fans on Instagram is really kind. Although the free pizza event was crowded, he still seriously entertained customers and answered everyone's questions The delicious pizza plus the high-quality service instantly healed me. There is a feeling of plus here. · I can also understand why the pizza donation event was held on the first day of opening in Flushing. It was crowded that day and there were many people who wanted to receive free pizza. The chefs tried their best to heat it up in the back. Everyone got steaming and deliciousMy friend and I randomly got three square pizzas of different flavors. It was so delicious‼ Who understands the happiness of carb lovers? I like mushroom cheese pizza. The crust is crispy and delicious. 4 for one pizza I think it is acceptable. After all, the prices in New York are really hard to describe. Today we passed by this pizza shop on Rosvet Ave in Flushing and the guy behind the counter Tell us we should try the pizza:) It was soft opening!!!! I believe and then we try absolutely Hands down the best pizza in flushing area-quite possibly the New York Area. know that's a big claim, but being born and raised in the city and having tried literally hundreds of places, I have yet to find a better pizzeria for the classic piece experience. Their margarita pie and other five different slices we try is out of this world! The deliciously sweet tomatoes and the freshly grated cheese that's imported from Italy! This place uses the finest ingredients to make all of there pizzas! This place also makes you sense history of a young man that same to America and made a change with no eduction & no money. I thought it was pretty ballsy to set up shop right next to Lucia Pizza which arguably belongs in the top 10 pizzerias of queens so I gave it a try. Its diffierent kind of pizza than Lucia. Lucia is better for just a plain oldschool slice / sicilian. This place has alot more topping variety and the toppings are top notch. The cup pepperonis are really good and I normally dont even like peperoni. The only con is the crust kinda tastes like it could be from the frozen pizza section at your grocery store. After requesting him to just place it in a bag to go, he states there are no bags with bags in from of him. Then decides it is fine to make a comment on how flushing customers "don't make any sense. Welcoming new pizzeria in the heart of Flushing! It's located literally about 2 stores down from Lucia's on the same block. My first thought was actually "I wonder how Lucia's feel about that..."). Right away you're greeted with a pink couch at the entrance (I believe it's for people to sit and wait for their to-go orders). There's limited seating inside so if you plan on sitting down, make sure to avoid lunch/dinner rushes. I wanted to try the tiramisu on the menu as well but unfortunately, they said they only have pizza and chicken for the time being. Understandable since they just had their grand opening not that long ago. I opted for their Tuscany slice (basically chicken bacon ranch) and from my observations, all the special pizzas are made square. Only the classics like cheese/pepperoni/etc are on the normal NY slice. The Tuscany was quite good. The crust has a nice crunch to it and they definitely packed it with ingredients. I wish there were more bacon but it was good as is. It comes out to nearly $5 for a square slice but it was surprisingly a bigger square than it appeared from behind the glass counter. I couldn't even finish it and gave the rest to my boyfriend. I'm absolutely planning on coming back to try their cheese pizza and tiramisu whenever it's available. read more
