Food: the crab cakes were fresh and light and came with a delicious sweet spicy slaw. Waygu cheeseburger was stacked and fresh. Service: quick, attentive and friendly. What more can you ask for? Ambiance: if you can sit on the balcony please do! Gorgeous water views. read more

Strolled in for a "Bloody" & some eggs Bene - Service was outstanding! Greg mixed up some top shelf Bloody Marys & Eric provided service and breakfast like we were Royalty. Job well done Chandler's!!! read more

Great brunch menu, with delicious crab Benedict (no bread), and La Colombe coffee and smoothies options. They also had dog menu, so we ordered a healthy chicken salad for our little one. I was expecting more from the ambiance, seeing other photos online I was expecting stunning views of the ocean, but instead was faced with a lot of trailers, parked by the Ocean. Service was good and they had valet for five dollars. read more

The thing I love most about this place is the beautiful ocean view. Very special place right on the coast. They have a great cocktail selection, and also have a really cool wine cellar. Butterfly margarita is fantastic! The menu has everything that you would expect a high end restaurant to have, some fine cuts of meat and fish. With that being said, nothing really stood out in the menu, just all of the classics, and they do the classics well. Service was okay. Our server was quirky, but very nice. The place was fairly empty when I had dinner, and there were still fairly long waits between the times that our server stopped by. read more

I was so excited to eat here. I came with some girlfriends and ate around their brunch time menu. They had delicious options to choose from. I had their Classic Eggs Benedict w/ Potatoes. I also had their Lavender Cocktail and was obsessed with the lavender flavor. The host was so sweet to us when checking in. I reserved a table through yelp just to make sure we had a table because I wasn't sure how busy it would be considering it's a restaurant in a Hotel. Our server was also very helpful and kind throughout our experience. We were sat outside with a view of the ocean and unfortunately the weather was chilly however they had heaters hovering over us which helped our experience. I hope to come back during dinner time. :)) read more

We were staying in the Hilton and decided to try this restaurant for their breakfast menu. After looking at the photos that other reviewers had posted, it did not disappoint. My wife ordered the chef's omelette with red and yellow bell peppers and it was very tasty, large too. Her omelette included a side of house potatoes, which were tasty as they were cooked in a spicy sauce. I ordered the French toast and the two slices were very large. On top of the French toast were raspberries and banana slices with a raspberry sauce and candied walnuts. It was delicious! Overall the food was delicious, plentiful and reasonably priced. The view in the outdoor seating area is very nice. The service was outstanding as our server was very friendly and talkative. Definitely will be eating at this restaurant when we return to the Carlsbad area. read more

the Brodetto Seafood Stew is the BUSINESS !! would have been a top hit had it include some type of rice buts very filling. Roasted Beet Salad w/Salmon was also delicious !! simple yet very well established restaurant, staffs are very attentive, funny, helpful & friendly. perfect spot to see the sunset and enjoy that beach front ambiance. read more

Was looking for an oceanfront restaurant with amazing food and stumbled upon Chandler's after the reviews. The restaurant is part of a hotel. We sat outside which was stunning. We enjoyed the brunch menu which had a variety of items. The waitress seemed to be the only one serving the whole patio so she was definitely busy. But the spot was cool for lunch/brunch would highly recommend. read more

This was the first time I experienced bad service at a Hilton location. The service was very slow and not good. We waited an hour for our breakfast, and the food came out cold... Even simple things were forgotten like them not bringing out syrup with the pancakes. This place was disappointing. read more

So overpriced. Entrees are almost $40-$50 per plate and the portions are really small. The sides are $10'each and so tiny meant for a toddler. There's not even a complimentary bread and butter while waiting for food that all took a long time to arrive. The water is lukewarm and it was so hot outside the patio so we were suffering. Don't be fooled by the photos because it does not look like that at all. Your view is multiple RVs which is depressing. They didnt even sit us somewhere nice on Mother's Day! I wished I spent this hard earned money somewhere I am sure is worth it! Will not come back. read more

Service was great and that ambiance is good too with a great ocean view. $15 for a small slice of toast and avocado underwhelming to say the least. read more

My fiancé and I went here for a spontaneous date night. We got the ocean chilled plate and the cheese plate. It was lovely to sit on the patio with a view of the sunset over the Pacific. The seafood plate was wonderful and the first time I think I've ever commented on how delicious cold shrimp was. The cheese plate, however, left much to be desired. All of the cheese (with the exception of the blue cheese) was so mild to the point of almost tasteless. The accompanying foods did little to enhance or compliment the cheese, besides the fig jam. The service was wonderful. We even got a little science lesson about the marine layer. We never wanted for water refills and everything was delivered promptly. read more

I had a crazy night here and it was so much fun even though I'm not drinking anything other than water these days. I sat at the bar and met an interesting woman named Linda who seemed to be a regular but the bartender never saw her before tonight. She was introducing me to all the patrons and I shared my ciopinno with her since she didn't like her ceviche and sent it back. The food is not great by any stretch of the imagination but boy is it FUN here!! Would I come back and hang, yes! Would I eat the ciopinno again? Definitely not!! Loln 4 stars for Tyler the bartender and genuine enjoyment and great vibes!! read more

Ordered to go from here since we were staying at the hotel. The salmon dinner plate was good but very small portion. Hardly filling for the high price. It's convenient if you're staying at the hotel here to order from this place but it's very pricey. read more

The atmosphere and esthetic was on point for a bayside scenic view. Our waiter was nice and interesting to talk with. The food however was not as good as I expected and it was a bit pricey for what we got. Overall, good but not great. read more

I have separate reviews for the two times I dined here. The breakfast terrible. Ordered an avocado toast with a side of eggs. I asked for no pickles onions instead I got extra plus an inedible star anise. Eggs had no seasoning. And the toast was basically a salad. Dinner here is okay. I ordered the halibut special which came with coconut rice, Cauliflower purée, broccoli and a lemon cream sauce. Fish was over cooked at least the crust was crunchy. Not enough purée to balance out the dry fish and lack of contrast in seasoning. Lemon sauce didn't add much to the fish. The rice was slightly over cooked as well. The broccoli an afterthought steamed and drizzled with a balsamic glaze. Just not a composed dish. Dessert was mediocre. The shortbread cookie not short at all. Service was great though! read more

Friday night dinner did not disappoint. The kitchen was behind so our server offered us complimentary fresh sourdough bread with pesto which was so fresh! The pesto was a surprisingly good addition. The crab cake appetizer was flavorful but could have done without the peppers. My jidori confit chicken was soooo fork tender under the crisp skin. A little heavy with sweet potato purée. Would've been better paired with a mashed potato or polenta. The lamb chops were a large portion and cooked well. Unfortunately they ran out of the mint chutney. The filet mignon was overcooked, we asked for medium rare and it came out medium. Over all we had good experience. Beautiful restaurant. Excellent service. Food was delicious. A little pricey but that's expected for a hotel restaurant. They validate parking. You do get a lot of people from the pool going to the bar to grab drinks which may bother some people. Just ask to sit far from the bar read more

Just enjoyed an incredible dinner created by Chef Ryan. The tuna was cooked to perfection, and my kids both inhaled their food, and said "it was the best food ever"! Our server Jose was THE BEST!!! Me & my mom were wowed by his customer service. He was so warm & friendly, and was the one who actually introduced us to the Chef, Ryan. My kids LOVED that so much, and thought it was really cool - not to mention, probably made Ryan's day! Overall a 10/10 between excellent food & incredible service! read more

I want to start off with a kudos to the bar staff at Chandler's as well as all the Hilton staff at Cape Rey. I must call out one Kool Ass Mother Fucker named Tyler. Not only was his service on point but his genuine human interaction was. In his words "they wish they could duplicate me" Indeed they wish they could. They should value what you bring to the organization. I spent 5 days in this hotel holding an event in the ballroom. Every interaction I had was extremely pleasurable. But that Mother Fucka Tyler..... I would go back, again and again, again and again to just talk with that dude. Great stories. Also wanted to call out Jayden working the night shift on 2/12/23. That guy understands customer service. Thank you for your help, understanding, and superb customer service read more

Really enjoyed this restaurant in the Hilton in Carlsbad. I will leave a fuller review later. For now it is very family friendly, so noisier and more casual then fine dining, but the mixology program and the pastry program are both very serious and we enjoyed our meal. We drove down to Carlsbad before deciding to move here and found this gem on our way down the coast. The service is friendly and attentive. The ambiance is wonderful. We had breakfast outside with our little dog and when we were finished with the delicious food, we moved over to the fireplace and enjoyed the view of the ocean. This was one of the factors that put us over the edge to make our move from the Bay Area to Carlsbad. We will put Chandler's on our list of favorites to visit often. My fiancé and I went to this restaurant as part of my company's Xmas dinner. We were surprised that it was inside the Hilton restaurant and there was a parking garage (first 2 hours are for free). It was beautiful inside with all the Christmas decorations and there was a cute Christmas tree in the middle of the room. Our server (I forgot his name but he wore glasses) was funny, kind, and patient. I liked my Harvest Mule drink and had bourbon in it. We had clam chowder and salad as an appetizer and I had the filet mignon, my fiancé had the salmon. I liked my filet it was done rare medium and the sauce they used was super delicious that it went with the mash potatoes. My fiancé liked his salmon but it was strong sauce taste for him. We had a good time but we didn't enjoy the fact that a lot of people were standing around the bar and close to our table. They don't bother to sit on the high chairs or go outside with the fire pit. Kids were running around and being loud. It would've been fine if they were sitting with family but they were running in and out of the restaurant from the outside. The music was also too loud that we couldn't hear what other people in the group were saying. It was a fabulous dinner but maybe place a table of a large group away from an entrance where people come in and out in towels and backpacks would be a good change. read more

Went to dinner for our anniversary thinking it would be romantic and good food. The food was terrible, very pricey and service was also very poor. Seems like a tourist attraction with it being at Hilton Hotel and next to beach campgrounds. Online says it's a romantic attraction but people running around in board shorts and kids right out of the pool. Tough with the swimming pool being next to restaurant to be romantic. We were even given a dirty bowl to share our seafood ciopino soup. Unreal. Both appetizers we had had no flavor , crab cake tasted like quickly thawed out canned tuna deep fried , and the mushroom dip was the same. Wife ordered Mac and cheese to just eat something and it was literally noodles in water . I hate to be posting bad reviews but save your money and time. It's unfortunate to be giving this review but it will not be returning. read more

We had a wonderful meal with family at Chandlers! All of us had exceptional meals and the food was outstanding from the appetizers to the main! We came at night so we didn't get to enjoy the Oceanview dining but I bet during the day it's spectacular. My favourite item was the crab cakes! They were so delicious! My steak was cooked to perfection! The flatbread was tasty and perfect for sharing! The drinks were yummy, it was all very good! If you're coming for date night, work, or a special occasion you won't be disappointed, the food really was incredible. Wanted to give a shout-out to our server Bryce who took excellent care of us. Added to our dining experience with laughter and kindness. Highly recommend Chandlers if you're in the area. They're breakfast and lunch menu looks equally very tasty so I don't think you can go wrong! read more

Maitre De said it would take 15-minutes to get gas turned on for patio heaters. OH, we'll just sit inside. Floors were not cleaned from night before. We walked in ~8am. Sticky floors. Coffee cup pre-placed neatly with service ware on table stuck to table. Yum. Makes me hungry. Is it "naysaying" to expect clean and courteous for $20 basic breakfast? When does it become an honest review to get good value and ROI? THEY WERE OUT OF A SIGNATURE ITEM: peaches for peach toast. The reason we came was to try this described as: grilled peaches, whipped lemon ricotta, and baby greens. YUM, except they were all out. Chandler's seems to share the same value system as the Hilton it resides in: Dirty and Dismissive. It seems the manager is present sitting in dining area. For these reasons, I'm out. read more

This is generally a good restaurant for a nice casual meal with an ocean view. The prices are very reasonable given the location being right on the water. Incredible views. Impeccable service. Delicious food. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here last night. I added chicken to the spinach salad which made it perfect for dinner. (I wish they had more options on their dinner menu, but was glad they were willing to accommodate the addition.) I also included the sourdough boule with the pesto--warm sourdough can't be beat. Finished up with the crème brûlée which just needed a dollop of whipped cream to make it perfect--sadly it didn't come with that. Overall I would eat here again or might sit in the bar area to try the all day menu. read more

Reason for the 2 stars... service was friendly and view is beautiful. Our order: 2 bloody Mary's Pork belly Benedict Pancakes Bloody Mary's were nothing special. Clearly just tomato juice, cheap vodka, and a dash of Tabasco. Came with 2 green olives. As a former bartender, I can say that it doesn't take much to level things up. A salted rim, a dash of celery salt, a cheap sprig of celery or a long slice of Carrot to garnish the glass and a lime wedge. Pork belly Benedict was disappointing. Eggs came out hard boiled. Had to send them back. Server was confused at first about what the issue was until I outright said that the yolk on a poached egg is supposed to be runny when poked. Potatoes were cold. There was also one lonely piece of a bell pepper tossed in like the potatoes were aupposed to be sauteed with some onions and peppers, but it was so sparse that I wasn't sure if the bell pepper was an accident. Pork belly was tough and over salted. Tasted like it used to be tender but was microwaved before serving it for breakfast. Pancakes... I don't know how these were lacking. They were undercooked and tasted like raw flour. Butter was served on the side in the little gold foil packets and was hard. I would suggest just putting the pat of butter on top (plus not using the prewrapped pats will save some cost). Side of syrup was really small for such a large stack of pancakes. Again, service was nice. View is gorgeous. I hope this place implements some constructive feedback because it has a lot of potential. read more
