This is not a fancy restaurant by any means but great service and food. I am now a huge fan of the momos, especially the lamb and I love the yummy dipping sauce. We wanted to try the namesake biryanis but they were out. Next time we will have to go earlier in the evening, we were there towards the end of their day due to travel delays. The most memorable part of the evening was the waiter brought me some deliciously soothing broth because he saw I was feeling under the weather - so incredibly thoughtful! read more

The Good - Location, at Chatham street, the hub of desi people. Momos - Nice and juicy but the soup as side was so not needed. It tasted bland and worthless. The Bad - Mango Lassi - Smelt of spices ! Wondering if it was the cup which was held by the chef or what. It tasted fine but smelt bad. The Ugly - Mosquitoes, all over the restaurant. When I asked the server to spray something, he ended up spraying Fabreeze for fragrance and not to get rid of mosquitoes. Food, ordered quite a lot of food, but it was terrible. Regret going to this place, huge chunks of onions floating in the gravy and naan were not well cooked. The Verdict - Absolutely regret choosing this place upon recommendations from folks at work, never again am I stepping in there. Beware ! Food is awful. read more

Go here for food, not for ambience. There have no Air Conditioning in the restaurant. However, they make up for that with the quality of the food. Four of us went for an early dinner before the Soccer game. Our table got Goat Biryani, Chicken Biryani, Lamb Momos and Chicken Tikka Masala. I loved the consistency of the goat. However, my friends felt that their chicken was just okay. The momos were good too. One suggestion though. If you are going to call your place Biryani Xprx.. don't bother to have Momos at your place. Stick to Biryani and similar food. You confuse people if you are a legit Biryani place when you have Tibetan/Nepalese food. Overall, I would go back for their Biryani!! read more

After reading this places review, I had really high expectations. I tried one item after reading great things about it but it totally let me down. Extremely poor quality. Chicken had hardly any meat on it. Feels like they served me the chicken they were probably going to throw away for being too dry and skinny. While the masalas and chutney were good tasting the chicken was very disgustingly meatless. read more

I was hoping for better food. Visited here on Saturday around 3:45, was going to order the chicken biryani, until I asked whether it was boneless chicken or on the bone. It was the latter, and I don't like to work for my food. :-) I ordered the kedamai chicken instead, which was OK, but not very much food, considering the price ($11.99). Also, the rice was a mixture of white and basmati rice, and I am accustomed to a pilau or at least all basmati rice to accompany the entree. My friend had the chicken biryani, which looked OK. The previous incarnation of this restaurant site was the Tibetan Restaurant, and the same personnel were servers. The still serve lukewarm water with no option of having ice in it - why? I notice that my previous review for the Tibetan place shows up under *this* title - I assume it's the same owners. All in all, it's overpriced, small portions, quality is just OK. read more

Food was too greasy. Lollipop chicken over cooked. Delivery was late but he did apologize for the delay. Use to get onions with lollipop chicken but no longer do guess they stopped that. Garlic chicken noodles with shrimp way too much grease and tasted too fishy like they used fish oil. read more

We love the Chicken Chettinadu, Szechuan Chicken, Drums of Heaven, and all the naans (be careful as the Bullet naan is quick spicy). This is one of the best little treasures in the Triangle. Love this joint. AND they deliver - which is fantastic. I don't consider a meal of this sort a good one unless I sweat. Here? I go through bath towels sweating LOL! HIGHLY recommended, love it. And such a bargain, the prices are incredible. My favorites? Hot and sour soup (emphasis is on heat and it creeps up on you and builds, beware!!) and the cauliflower dish, I've forgotten the name. Out of this world! read more

I regularly order takeout from this place and I have generally had a good experience. Their curries are great and they provide good quantities. One curry portion is typically good for 2 meals for the 2 of us. I once had a vegetarian friend over and we got vegetarian food from here and that was good too (Paneer tikka Masala and baghara baingan). Baghara baingan is my new favorite now. I got the chicken 65 once and it was fiery! Enjoyed it thoroughly. The biryani, however, fell short of my expectations. The meat to rice ratio is a bit in favor of the rice and often the meat (i mostly order chicken) is not seasoned well enough. read more

These guys have been open for about two weeks. They seem to be hard working people from Tibet and Arunachal (a state in North East India) and are very polite. The menu is pretty diverse with a lot of ethnic Tibetan dishes. I ordered the Pema's Tsawa which was a bit sweet, but pretty good when hot. And then ordered the Veg. Gyathuk. The portions were very good and the gyathuk is a nice noodle soup with vegetables. One can ask for a spicy sauce on the side. I would recommend this place for anyone who wants to try a different cuisine which is not your typical american chinese affair. Extra star because these guys are good natured, hard working polite folks. read more

My partner and I finally got to try the new Nepalese spot in Cary. The service here is very friendly, the restaurant has a nice homey atmosphere, and the prices are fair. We were seated quickly, and the food came out fast. All our dishes were good, but nothing really stood out as spectacular. If you like mild or medium heat, ask for spicy. The heat levels here are on the low side. Even our spicy dishes were more of a medium heat level. The lassi was also very watered down. This is a perfect spot for a quick lunch without much fuss. but if you're looking to be blown away, you may want to skip it. read more

A co-worker and I went for lunch recently and really enjoyed it. We love the Himalayan restaurant next door as well, but eating there is a process and we can't always be gone for a hour+ for lunch. The Tibetan restaurant was fantastic! We had the spicy chicken appetizer which was phenomenal, and even though it was hot we both had butter tea which was perfectly prepared. I had a vegetarian lunch plate. I wasn't overly excited about the potato momos, but that was my fault; I love the lamb and just wasn't thinking veggie would be potato. However that aside, they were delicious, soft and moist - perfectly made! The rest of my lunch sampler was amazing, and my friend devoured his plate (a meat dish). Everyone was so kind, and I loved the homey feel. For others that have rated the restaurant low, I think maybe your expectations for this type of food and environment are just not in line with what it is. The "tattered white scarf on the door" someone complained about- that's a Tibetan tradition of offering/welcome so I'm very happy to see it there. My only complaint was that the restaurant inside was VERY (uncomfortably) hot. If I had to guess, it was close to 80 F. We keep our thermostats around 75-77 so I don't expect a 66-degree place, but it was really warm, and the water is served room temp (which I usually would prefer, but we were melting!). That could have been a temporary issue though. The food is authentic and expertly prepared with all the love of a family restaurant, and just being in there makes me warm and fuzzy :) read more

Randomly found this place while trying to find Indian takeout in Cary on a Sunday afternoon. Definitely glad I was able to find it and can't wait to come back. They had just opened and the dining room was empty when I came in but everyone was incredibly nice going over all the dishes and giving suggestions. Settled on some fried rice and Zidroj noodles and both were incredibly. My partner thought the spring rolls were the best she'd ever had and the drumsbof heaven were delicious. Portion sizes were good and we both have plenty left for another meal. Can't wait to go back and try the momo. read more

Me and my husband we both love dumplings and this is the only place I can recommend in the area. We drive far and wide do seek dumplings for dinner. But this place is our regular take out spot when we want to stay in and get some indo chinese goodness. We haven't tried anything else on the menu so I will not be able to vouch for it but the place looks popular during lunch hours and staff is very friendly is what i observed in whatever little time I spent getting a take out. Word of caution if you are ordering veg moms they are not your usual cabbage and carrots filling be ready to find potatoes inside. Its not bad but takes you by surprise. I would recommend chicken moms they are consistently good. All in all I am giving this place 3 stars only since I have tried one dish here and its consistently good. read more

This is probably one of the few places in cary which customizes the spice levels in biryani. Our goto place for take aways when we crave for a quick biryani as it is very near to our home. We like the medium spiced biryani that only biryani expx and another restaurant in triangle serve.. like how they still add the masala but reduce the chilli to maintain the biryani taste. read more

This place is my favorite place in the area. Clifton has always been a very friendly person and will always take efforts to make you feel at home. This place has really good collection of the biryanis and chicken 65 biryani is top notch. All of the menu is at affordable prices . You can also order but 3 get 1 biryani free for home delivery. What a great find! Went with a group of 6 for a Friday night dinner and everyone seemed to really enjoy their selections! We shared some plates as appetizers - the steamed lamb momos and the chili paneer were fantastic! For dinner, I had the chili garlic noodles, which were out of this world! Came back here recently for some Himalayan food but found out the owner has changed and it now serves Indian food. Although disappointed that we couldn't get our favorite Himalayan dishes again, we decided to stay and try the briyani. We were glad we did. The spices were just right and the rice had the perfect amount of moisture. The curry had a rich aroma that just swirls around in your mouth and wakes up every single sleepy taste bud. The double ka meeta (bread pudding) had more butter than I would have liked but it was still delicious and I loved the surprise of having cashews and raisins in the double ka meeta.
