Da Pan Ji （Sauteed Spicy Chicken Hand Pulled Noodles): Sauce....is ok. Chicken...is dry and old. Dish Highlights: Pulled Noodles was good, great bounce, great texture, real hand pulled noodles. Dish Improvement: Needs more Anise, a slight bit more rock sugar, cinnamon cloves, fennel, maybe velvet the chicken wings and thighs before stir frying....baking soda + starch? Needs some Ghost Pepper Powder for the kick, and probably some oyster sauce rather than just regular and dark soy sauce. Mung Bean Smoothie: perfect, made to my specs, 20% sugar. Just right. This is my second time here. I drove my rig into the plaza after coming back from my Sacramento dispatch trip. Last time I had the beef tripe noodles (B+) not bad, but worth an order. I had their lamb skewers the first time around...not on my recommend list, you'll do better at any of those skewer places in City of Industry along Gale Ave and Frank and Sons. I had there Rou Jia Mou Meat Hamburgers from what I remember, maybe because I was too full, I didn't finish it, and disregarded packing my bun togo...so that being said, the Rou Jia Mou was pretty mediocre. Nice interior though, very cafe like. Last thoughts: to be honest, for the last two times in the plaza, I was prioritizing the buffet place next door, but somehow always end up here at Changan.... probably the overall menu, vibe here feels more authentic....at least that's the vibe you get seeing a bunch of random Chinese FOBs popping in here at Ontario, CA when most of these folks predominantly live in Chino, Eastvale, Chino Hills, Maybe Rancho, and see definitely more East Los Angeles. Think I had their pot stickers last time, was pretty good from memory. Why the three stars? Because I feel I can make better 大盤雞 Da Pan Ji at home minus the hand pulled noodles and the overall quality of food is probably comparable to say Hong Kong Macau Restaurant Cafe in Rowland Heights, you get off work, you don't know what to eat, you find a place that serves local, street culture Chinese food but it's not that great, but hey, we say that about McDonalds, and we still pick up a Quarter Pounder every now and then.
Get Chang an every single time you can it is that good! Noodles are sooo chewy and so flavorful truly the best place around! They have an extensive menu so not craving noodles, the fried rice is amazing too. literally everything is good! Service is fast with a QR code and there's plenty of seating and parking !
Food tastes even better now that they have a new chef. Authentic chinese food, so far it's still one of the best in the inland empire (upland to SB) and I've eaten at almost all the chinese restaurants in the area. As you can tell from my photos, I come here a lot as it's close to work. Here are some of my faves: Chinese Burger Lamb / Beef Lamb Skewers Beef Noodles Soup Cumin Beef Noodles Lamb Soup Spicy Fish Soup Mapo Tofu with Beef String Beans Egg Plant with Potato General Tso Chicken I always order extra spicy for dishes that can be spicy but I wish it can be spicier. That would be perfect.
My favorite noodle texture ever. There's few places that have a really bouncy noodle texture and can maintain it and this is one of those places. We took this home and I microwaved it and it was still good. The order came out within 10 minutes and the restaurant was empty since we went 30 minutes before closing. We ordered the biang biang noodles (N1) and the hand-ripped noodles with stewed pork (N5). They tasted similar to me but I think the latter was more oily and strong in flavor.
Came in with a few coworkers for lunch and wow this place has exceeded our expectations. We were quickly sat and ordered through our phones, which was super easy and efficient. We got the hand ripped noodles with pulled pork, shrimp fried rice, and mapo tofu with braised beef brisket. Our food came out so fast! Everything was bursting with flavor and portions were huge--perfect for family style. Our fav was definitely the hand pulled/ripped noodles. We loved the bouncy chewy texture balanced with the umami flavor of the sauce and the pulled pork. Everything was so authentic and delicious. I can't wait to go back. This will be a lunch go-to for sure.
Outstanding service! We called around 7:45 to check if they were still accepting walk ins and they were extremely kind about letting us stay past their closing time to finish our food. They never rushed us and were extremely helpful. The restaurant was clean and had a QR ordering system as well as servers if you need help. There were a lot of options but we ordered the mapo tofu with braised brisket and sautéed spicy chicken noodles. The mapo tofu had a delicious tangy sauce with the szechuan spice. The brisket was a bit chewier than expected, but was wonderfully seasoned. The hand pulled noodles were nice and chewy, but the standout part of the dish was the potatoes. They were slightly crispy on the outside, but still nice and soft on the inside. I would definitely recommend this place and we look forward to coming again to try more items from the menu!
Instant service, incredible food, and perfect noodles--what more could you ask for? From the moment we sat down, we knew we were in for something special. The service was lightning-fast--we barely had time to admire the elegant chopsticks before our drinks and appetizers started arriving. The handmade noodles were a true standout: perfectly chewy with just the right bite, and an ideal canvas for both the rich broth and the bold chili oil. Every dish was packed with flavor and clearly made with care. We absolutely loved the General Tso's Chicken--crispy, tangy, and generously portioned. The eggplant dish was another highlight: tender, flavorful, and satisfying without being overly heavy. By the time the dumplings arrived, we were already happily stuffed, but of course we had to try a few... and wow. So delicate, juicy, and bursting with flavor--easily some of the best we've had. Can't wait to come back and try even more of the menu. A new favorite for sure!
Hard to choose what we wanted to try since there were so many items on the menu. We decided to ask for recommendations. It was a warm day so we opted for dry noodles. Based on the recommendation, we went with N9. Triple noodles with stewed pork, egg and tomatoes, potatoes and carrots. Texture of the noodles were good and I liked it with the gravy. The eggplant and string beans - tasty. Beef Tripe - but salty but good with rice. Pretty big sized portions. We enjoyed the dishes and were stuffed.
Was meeting up with our friends for lunch at another restaurant. When we got there, the restaurant was closed. Did a little search and found this Changan Kitchen restaurant nearby, so we decided to give them a try. Upon entering the restaurant, you could feel a positive vibe. Everything looks so clean and nice. We were seated right away. Got our water and menus. Staffs were very friendly and courteous. Looking thru the menu, the selections were a little foreign to me. This is not your typical Chinese food restaurant. We really didn't know which items would be good. So we just look at items we thought might be good and just ordered blindly. We ordered the following dishes to share: - Braised Beef Brisket Noodle Soup - Shrimp Fried Rice - Black Pepper Shrimp with Broccoli - Pork Belly Slices BBQ At first, we didn't know how it would taste or if it is any good. But very pleasantly surprised all four dishes were so good and tasty! I enjoyed all the dishes. And would definitely come back again to try their other items on the menu.
Ok reception. Not very busy when we (party of 4). Been curious about this place for a while after noticing it when we go and eat next door for the buffet. Finally decided to check in. Place clean. Ambience comfortable and quiet. Food not bad at all. Not sure what I was expecting but didn't wake up my sleeping taste buds. Maybe need to come back to try others on their menu list. It's still a nice dining experience with sweetheart and friends.
Came across this restaurant browsing thru Yelp ! Reviews were great so went here for Saturday lunch! No pork belly in the menu so when I inquired our server he had the manager or chef ( I didn't ask) talk to me. There was a Chicken or Tofu Cashew and he said he will substitute it with the pork belly!! I was ecstatic that they accommodated my preference of pork belly meat!! Pork Belly meat were tender and thinly sliced cut portions that were stir fried with wood ear mushrooms and red bell peppers!!! Sauce of this dish has that deliciously tangy , sweet and salty flavor ! Braised beef noodles was seasoned and flavorful with very tender meat! I enjoyed this lunch with hubby and couple friends!! I will surely come back to try other dishes on the menu !!
We ordered two Chinese burger with pork (roujiamo) and took one home. When my child was eating it, we found a lot of hair on the meat. After looking closely, it appeared to be pig nipple/skin with hair still attached. This was extremely disgusting and unacceptable. Food safety and ingredient handling should be taken seriously. We will not be coming back.
First time trying this type of cuisine. The beef noodle tastes like Taiwanese beef noodle soup with a peppercorn kick, but not extraordinarily spicy. Could use some more beef slices. The cold noodles were good and refreshing with cucumber. The pork burger tastes like a Chinese carne asada.
Best choose before or after you shopping at Ontario outlet, much better food than the inside. I'm here second time. I try different noodle here. Here is real Chinese traditional noodle in the middle area of China. Biangbiang noodle is only three piece of noodles. It needs mix by myself. Pita Bread In Lamp Soup is another famous in China. It comes with small piece of special bread in lamp soup. I like it. The wonderful drink are another favorite. read more
Changan is known for their handmade noodle section. Any part of the menu can be adjusted and they have vegetarian options. Customer service needs significant improvement, but the food is pretty damn good. We had the homemade stir fried hand-pulled noodles and the biangbiang ripped-noodles. The food is so clean and so satisfying. Portions are big, which makes the prices average. The chili oil is amazing and a must to add to every bite. They are very busy with to-go orders, which is what I'd do next time because we're coming back for more handmade noodles. read more

I found this place while driving to Ontario mills and the name piqued my interest. Family in tow, I visited this place to try out authentic Changan food. The place looks unassuming but don't let that fool you. This review is after 3 visits to this delicious place. On the 1st visit, we ordered the Biang Biang noodles which was hand made noodles with garlic, chilly oil, red chilly flakes and Bok choy. Its comes served in a big bowl and you need to mix the ingredients to eat it. The 1st bite of the hand made noodles and I was transported to a new world. The noodles were some of the best that I ever tasted and the garlic, chilly oil and the chilly flakes all blend together to give you a variety of flavors that you can't stop digging in for more. The bok choy gives a crunchy flavor and fresh profile and it adds another dimension to the delicious dish. It's an amazing hang over food too. We also ordered the Beef noodles soup for my son and he loved it. The noodles were hand made as well and in his words they tasted "AWESOME ". My wife being a vegetarian was apprehensive on what to order but went with Hand made noodles with egg & tomato. First bite in, and she was confused & at the same time delighted. Confused as to how tomato and egg could add so much flavor in to the noodles and delighted because it was amazing delicious. One complaint I have is the limited number of chicken dishes they have in the menu. Most of the menu is made up of Beef, Pork & Lamb dishes. Service as expected is fast. read more

Awesome Noddles! Hand stretched and shaped paired in different dishes like CR2 Liang Pi with sesame that is served cold. Or N1 BiangBiang spicy and the N10 Minced pork noddles, all noddle dishes are so delicious in flavor and in texture. I been exploring the menu and there are so many gems, like IS20 Shredded Pork spicy garlic, IS8 Ma Po Tofu, and the list goes on. Super friendly staff and dine in. I've gone to this place for a few months now and a I've had some mixed feelings about it now. Firstly the food is great and I have nothing against that! It's just I've noticed a drop in customer service quality to which the past few times I've gone, they've forgot to bring the food to me and have taken about 30 mins for a bowl of soup. Especially when the party after mine of 2 got their orders before us. Sadly I won't be going back as of yet because of this, but maybe in the future. read more

I've been here twice and both times the food was yummy. Also the food came out fast! I was craving hand pulled noodles and found this place on Yelp. The first time my BF and I came it was slightly busy and it was a weekday so that said something to us. They share the parking lot with Luxe Buffet and Denny's so parking can be tricky but not too bad for the most part. When we walked in, a server greeted us and said we could sit anywhere in the place. We literally put in our order and then less than 10 minutes later the food was out and we were grubbin'. The biang biang noodles with pork and spicy oil is soo good. Couldn't recommend it more. The cumin beef and spicy pork were great too. The one gripe I have is service is kind of shotty but not terrible. There are more dishes that I'd like to try so I'll definitely be back. read more

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here. We ordered the tofu & preserved egg which brought me back to childhood. My mom used make this though just slightly different we still enjoyed it. It is an acquired taste. We ordered minced pork noodle soup which had a rich flavorful broth. The noodles had a nice bite - not too soft. The hand ripped noodles with stewed pork was also tasty. Random shaped flat sheets of noodles piled over a little sauce on the bottom of the bowl topped with shredded pork & bok Chou & chopped fresh raw garlic. The steam pork & cabbage dumplings were good too. Both our drinks were delicious. A passion fruit tea & a pudding milk slushee which was Ike a dessert was surprisingly delicious. We will definitely go back again to try other dishes. read more

This is the BEST Chinese food in the IE As someone who isn't Asian but has lots of Asian friends take me around to eat, this place hands down is the most authentic, clean, and has the most flavourful and fresh food around. We ordered and after 5-8 minutes the food came out super quick and hott! It stayed hott until we left even. The portions are also huge which is nice because you can share plates! I ordered sweet and sour fish (not sure what it's called on the menu) and a spicy beef stew which was amazing Also, it's so rare to find good authentic food that has nice vibes. The decor is SO cute and the workers are so nice! read more

Ordered tomato egg noodles with chili oil. I was charged $2 extra for the smallest pinch of chili oil. I wasn't even told over the phone that it would cost extra. Why have it as an option on the menu and not list that it's an extra cost. I'm all for supporting local restaurants but this felt deceptive smh. read more

The food is very authentic Chinese Xi'an food! We ordered to go because of our puppy. The servers were extremely friendly, she saw us under the sun and offered iced water and whip cream to our dog. This place is a Chinese food gem in the middle of Ontario! I'm so glad I tried this place and can't wait to come back. I enjoyed their Biang biang noodles. The noodle texture is sooo effing good! A bit spicy and very garlicky. Just get it! I loved their stir fry green beans and sweet and sour fish. Both dishes were excellent!! The location and environment inside was also clean, spacious and new. Highly recommend this spot! read more

Food is really flavorful, got the N13 stir fried noodles with cumin beef, a bit spicy as indicated on the menu. Also got the braised beef brisket soup which would also recommend, only thing is they had no A/C so the heat in the restaurant itself made it almost unbearable. the food was so good!! we only ordered beef dishes and the beef would just melt into your mouth. it's so soft and so full of flavor. (we had to take it to go and even a couple days old it was still so good) the customer service was really good!! we got seated right away and the waiters were really nice the ambiance of the restaurant was also really nice. it's very spacious and has a very modern look to it, but it's still very family friendly. plus the chairs were great! very comfortable although we don't live in the area, we will definitely come back again!! read more

Good restaurant at Ontario. My kids like handmade noodle with egg and tomato and we like noodle with soybean past. We also order fish with Chinese pickle and griddled cauliflower. The food all delicious. Absolutely will come again. read more
