I had to remove the pork entirely just to eat the rest. This wasn't a one-piece issue; every piece was the same. When the main protein is ruined, the whole dish is ruined. I ordered their bulgogi kimbab and the half size Topokki which supposed to be mild according to DoorDash but it came out really spicy. Not sure if I was given the wrong item? I can handle some pretty good level of spiciness but this is a very inaccurate description of the it's spice level. Sadly, I did not eat this right away and ate it at home, so the food cooled down a bit to a luke warm temperature. But the flavor of the topokki, the soft, chewy rice cakes, the fried fish cakes all hit the spot! I really like the half-size and wish they would allow people to order other flavors as half-size too. I don't know what happened to the tteokbokki but it's super watery now. I've gotten it a couple times since the first time and it's like a soup instead of a thick rich sauce. I am so disappointed! Another place right near the main entrance! They have such a nice display of their fried foods, mostly vegetables and carbs. They also sell gimbap in different fillings. We tried the large fried order and tuna mayo gimbap. The fried food was very crispy and still hot! There wasn't a dipping sauce since we didn't order their teokpokki, but the gimbap came with soy sauce. My most favorite is their fried potato, very crispy and savory. They're currently in their soft opening phase and took over where The Churro Bar used to be. Jaws has been around since 2007 and they're a pretty famous chain in S. Korea. At the time I wanted to order, I wasn't able to place an order online and I wasn't able to find a phone number to order head so just headed down to order in person. They are having a 30 % off special now. I originally was going to order 3 gimbap but decided to add a 4th. I got two bulgogi, one pork cutlet, and one fried shrimp. I saved $11.54 with the 30% off deal! After I placed my order, I waited about 15 minutes for them to prepare it which is a good sign if they're making them fresh per order. After I got home I realized they only gave me one pair of chopsticks. Wow I hope they didn't think I was going to eat all of this by myself haha.... Anyway when my husband got home, he mentioned that he's had better. Other places give the Bulgogi more of a grilled flavor but this was decent. Also it would have been nice if they gave us some of the Korean yellow radish (danmuji) or some kimchi on the side to eat it with. Dipping sauces are an additional $0.50 each. My mother-in-law used to make gimbap when she'd come over and hers was so good. Overall it was still good and we don't have to go all the way to Diamond Bar when we're craving gimbap now. read more

I usually just walk past the West Covina location, but I decided to check this one out. I love a good rosé topokki, but I didn't care for their soup version. No other version I have ever tried has ever been this watery, and I really missed the thicker sauce I'm accustomed. I got the duo set which came with the medium deep fried set. The deep fried set was pretty good, but dipping the fried goods in the watery topokki was not very satisfying. I noticed that the sundae (blood sausage) in the set was also different from the blood sausage I had in Jeju. Lastly, I tried the tuna and the pork cutlet gimbap, and they were my favorite items. I was so excited when I saw the sign that Jaws Topokki was opening here at Haven City! I missed the soft opening date but finally made it in on a Friday night to get the duo set. It came with a variety of fried dumplings, shrimp, sweet potato, and I upgraded to get the rose Topokki on the set. The food took some time to get to us, but it was all good, we found a seat and opened the plastic bag. For the advertisement and the price, you'd think that the set was good to fill 2 people, but it was really just an individual serving of Topokki, barely enough to share! I wished the portion on the Topokki was larger for the price that they were charging. We had to get something else afterward. The fried set was delicious. It was crispy and it goes really well with the Topokki. The rose Topokki had a weird color for it being a rose. It looked like cheese topokki.
