Amaaazing facial experience! My bestie and I came here for her bday and we enjoyed their Signature Facial. They customize it to your needs which is great! I thought that the foot soak was very relaxing pre-facial and that the facial experience itself was so peaceful. I almost fell asleep! My masseuse was excellent & massage appropriately forceful enough while still relaxing. Enjoyed the steam before, quality of robes & towels, & cleanliness of facility. I was with my 3 daughters & we all liked the unexpected scented foot bath prior to our treatments. As a suggestion products available after showering were limited, deodorant spray bottle was empty, no lotion nor sunscreen to apply & blow dryer needed an upgrade. I've been to Changes Salon twice, so far, for haircuts only and was happy with both experiences! I did a lot of research before my first visit and found that their varying levels of stylists allows them to have some of the most competitive prices for Downtown Walnut Creek, ranging between $49-$94 for a haircut. Though I only trust this head of hair to experienced professionals, I'm also on a budget. On my first visit I selected the most affordable stylist option, then received a 20% off coupon in the mail (yay!) and made a second appointment with one of the more experienced stylists. I received consistent care and attention at each appointment, though I have a fairly low maintenance hairstyle to keep up. They seem to cater mostly to ladies, but my husband has been in for a trim before and had no complaints. The salon itself is stylish and full of natural light, definitely a relaxing spot for sitting back and soaking up some TLC for your hair! They can charge your method of payment for any amount so it's not necessary to bring cash in for gratuity, phew! Don't forget to check-in for a free hair care packet! I booked an appointment for a massage with Changes. I took the day off work for this appointment and was called the day of the appointment about two hours before to tell me my appointment was cancelled. I had taken the day off work for this appointment. After I complained I was offered a discount if I rescheduled. I did reschedule my appointment however had to fly out of town for a funeral and missed the 24 window to cancel my appointment. I was still charged for half the cost of the appointment. If I had been able to go in for my original appointment this never would've happened. Very disappointed in Changes and their customer service and I will not be coming back. read more

I was a little nervous to book a massage because my first massage YEARS ago was uncomfortable. But I got a gift card here for my birthday and decided to book a lymphatic massage (I had to call because I couldn't book this specific massage on their website for some reason) so I went in the day after Christmas. The reviews made me have not very high expectations, calling it "frumpy" with brown walls. But when I arrived for my appointment, the woman at the front desk was super nice. I told her it was my first time there so she showed me where the locker rooms were, where to go once I was changed, etc. The locker room was super clean. After I changed, I went to this waiting room that had a beautiful water feature and it was nice and quiet (there is a sign asking to take phone calls in the lobby.) After a minute here, Ankita came to get me and brought me to another room for a foot soak. Again, I read this was awkward and it really wasn't. She asked about my expectations, previous massages, etc. and accommodated to me accordingly. I had my warm foot soak, meditated for a minute then was brought to the massage room. It was the BEST massage I have ever had, she offered me 15 extra minutes because she had extra time so I happily accepted. I felt so relaxed and rejuvenated afterwards, she is truly a miracle worker and she makes sure you're very comfortable. I cant express my gratitude to Ankita enough. I've been coming to Changes for 10+ years now, I think its time for a review. First off I love Mary for pedicures, she is amazing!!! 5 stars for Mary! Today I had my first facial, ever! I saw Elizabeth and she walked me through the process and made me feel so comfortable before we even began. It was a perfect experience and I already booked my next appointment. 5 stars for Elizabeth! Now why do I give changes 3 stars as a review? Because they are inconsistent. Not with service or cleanliness, but for enforcing the rules of the spa. The relaxation room is either quiet and tranquil or groups of chatty women. The rules posted on the walls, in multiple places says to silence all phones and please use quiet voices. The enforcement of the rules is inconsistent at best. The last few times I've been here there have been people on phones, talking loudly, or rarely quiet tranquility. Today Elizabeth had to turn up the volume on the music to drown out the women talking because I could hear it from my treatment room. She apologized to me, and truly meant it which leads me to believe this happens often and upper management is doing nothing about it. If I'm spending well over $100 everytime I step foot into changes I expect more than flexible rules regarding the spa. read more

Very nice salon in terms of reception area, waiting area, and treatment rooms. The waiting area includes a floor-to-ceiling partition that has water flowing over it -- nice soothing background and water is always relaxing. The massage therapist asked several times for feedback, and she did adjust as needed, based on my requests. The massage was very relaxing. Minuses for: -Less than 50 min. treatment time for a massage. I booked a 50 min massage and it was closer to 40 min. Not sure if the brief foot bath before the actual massage counted towards the 50 min? The reception desk said that the massage itself should be 50 min. -Parking situation is unclear.
