We were thrown off a bit when we walked in, the place was totally empty and the man who very slowly approached us was wearing baggy cargo pants and a hoodie meant for someone much larger. For a Friday evening, it just seemed a little off. We ordered two #10 meals. They were massive portions, which we liked. My husband doesn't like shrimp so he gave me his. The sweet and sour was bland. The rice was overcooked and tasted a little old, but I liked the shrimp. The pork was weird, there seemed to be shriveled up bits of pork inside the breading. All in all it was mediocre. Wouldn't go back unless someone else was paying.

I absolutely love this place! It's my favorite place to go to sit down and have a meal in the area…read more I love going there just to draw down abundance and get the flow going. It's got everything I need: the fortune cookies, the lucky money cat, all the California rolls I can eat. The staff is welcoming and friendly. Nothing like getting that home feeling when you walk in the door and they already know your drink order. I've been to a lot of Asian Buffets in my time as a California utility worker but these guys take the cake! The food is great, the restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly. I've never had a dish I didn't like. Trust me.. this is the best deal in town if you're looking to feel like a fat cat.

But, they also had dim sum, sesame red bean balls (another favorite!) they had so much stuff. Oh and the variety of vegetables. They tastes so good! We literally went somewhere where ChatGPT told us to go the moonstone grill and spent so much for mid food then we only spent $36 here and it was so fresh and delicious! The restaurant was very clean and very well decorated. The staff was nice and thanked you when you left. They were very prompt when picking up your finished plates and bowls.

Driving through Northern CA and did not expect such a filling and fun meal…read more This spot is definitely a Chinese, Korean, Japanese fusiony spot that I did not expect to find here. We ordered the Chinese Style Lamb Stew, Cheese Corn, Kung Pao Vegetables, and it came with a side of banchan. Every single dish here was absolutely delicious and piping hot! We ended up ordering a second plate of banchan because it was so good. The daikon radish had the most satisfying crunch and the others- cabbage and bean sprouts were very well pickled too! Cheese corn was sweet and honestly a good pairing with the very soury/ pickled soup. The kung pao vegetables would have definitely fooled me if I wasn't told it was mushroom. The batter holds on the oyster mushrooms just like chicken does. Well seasoned. Service was very impressive - there was a single waitress serving lots of tables. She had amazing recommendations and really seemed like she knew what she was doing. Very kind and attentive the entire time. Would love to return.

The pan fried chicken dumplings were from Costco, the spicy beef ramen left much to be desired and had an extremely dry egg. And then my friends chow mein came out half way through our meal (they forgot), had no veggies and was sweet?? They kind of attempted to fix it, so we were willing to let things go. That was one thing, then as we were waiting for them to pick up our card to pay, our server, Mira, loudly complained to her coworker about us sending the food back and how we were "pissed" (we weren't, until she started almost yelling about the situation to her coworker). Extremely unprofessional. Makes us second wanting to return in the future.

A Tale of Two WOKINs: A Journey from SoCal to NorCal in Search of the Perfect Bite…read more Every family has a story, a collection of moments stitched together with love, laughter, and--if you're lucky--really, really good Chinese food. Ours begins in Redlands, California, where a humble, hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant called WOK IN became more than just a place to grab takeout. It became a second home. A young couple owned it, pouring their heart and soul into every dish, and over the years, we grew close, bonding over sizzling woks and steaming bowls of comfort. But life, as it often does, led us north. A new chapter. A fresh start. And while we embraced the adventure, there was one thing missing--a place that felt like our place, a little corner of the world where good food and good people came together. For nearly a year, we searched. And then, like a beacon in the fog of hunger, we found it: WOK IN WOK OUT in Eureka, California. I told my wife about it, cautiously optimistic, but she met my excitement with skepticism. "Let's see if it's the same," she said, as only a woman who has been burned by disappointing takeout before can say. So we did. The order was simple: Kung Pao Chicken, soup, and Pad Thai. The stakes? Immensely high. One bite in, and suddenly, it wasn't just dinner--it was a rediscovery. The flavors were bold, the textures perfect, the spice hitting just right. And then, the true test: my wife, pregnant and all, gave me the nod. It didn't make her sick. That, my friends, is the highest praise a restaurant can receive in our household. While nothing will replace our forever WOK IN family in SoCal, WOK IN WOK OUT has given us a new home for comfort food up here in NorCal. It's not just about the food--it's about the feeling, the nostalgia, the quiet joy of finding a place where you belong. So, to the good people at WOK IN WOK OUT: thank you. You've given us more than just a meal--you've given us a piece of home. -Jacob Williams
