Not a bad spot. There's definitely room for improvement. We had 2 clsssics and a "must try" Kabobs. Pad Thai was very oily and commercialized. Not much flavor even though the color looked very rich. Tom yum soup was packed with ingredients which was a nice plus, but flavoring on the soup wasn't crazy. It was very light. The presentation of plateware was nice though. Their must try item which was basically fried chicken meatballs on a skewer with orange chicken flavor was interesting. Texture and frying was on point. Quite big for an item. Maybe they need to make it into smaller meatballs or a thin out the shape to make the flavors work better together. Still 50/50 on that item. Other wise, cute potential spot. read more

I am so happy this is a short walk from my apartment! The food here is great and the girls working there are so sweet. The restaurant itself is clean and well kept. I tried the chow mein and the red curry with shrimp. For me the curry was excellent, great flavor and cooked just right. Typically I find eggplant a big hit or miss, they did fantastic work and impressed me by not over cooking the eggplant. The chow mein was okay. My boyfriend is a big meat eater so he wished there was more meat in the dishes, for me it was fine. I can also tell that they use fresh ingredients, that's important. The music playing threw me off a bit (covers of popular songs) but other than that I cannot complain, I'll definitely be back :) read more

Solid Thai place in Pasadena. Have ordered take out many many times. Always on time, rarely have to wait and if I do it is only for a few minutes and they bring you something to drink. It is super simple to order and pay from Yelp online or the app. I have been here to eat in as well. The decor is a bit lacking but I have yet to come here and have to wait for a seat. The food is outstanding Thai food. Pad Thai is well balanced, noodles are never overcooked. The sauce is delicate and the Thai flavors of lemongrass and garlic are pronounced but never overwhelming. The Pad See Ew is amazing, almost like a slippery noodle meets the shape of an oyster mushroom. Hearty flavors and delicious. The Thai basil with beef and Cashew Chicken are sure-fire winners as well. In the winter the Won Ton Soup, albeit not Thai, is a great selection. They used to have level of heat for online ordering but I do not see those as options anymore. I never found anything to be too spicy even if I ordered the hottest option when I could. If you are spice adverse, this is a great option. If you like to bring the heat, then ask for it. read more

This place is solid for Thai food. No point of paying $4-8 more at Saladang (just being honest). I come here with my fiancé pretty frequently. I usually get Pad See Yew w/ Beef or the Pineapple Fried Rice without Raisin or Curry Powder. It's alwayssss solid. The Pad See Yew is super flavorful, and I always add some spices kick up the heat. The Pineapple Fried Rice is also super flavorful and they're generous with the shrimp and chicken. Both portions are pretty darn big. It's cheaper than most Thai restaurants and they give you more. What a bargain. Support this business and continue to eat from here so that they can continue to keep the prices low while giving generous portions, unlike other Thai restaurants. Holy mother of all that is merciful, please spare my tummy... We ordered dinner from this place at work for our team. I ordered a sexy sea bass basil dish and Thai iced tea. Just got food delivered in under 20 min. That's fast as shit!! To be fair I only ordered 3 things - 1 pad thai and 2 appetizers, but still! I also find their drivers to be a lot more courteous than other Thai delivery places in the area. (won't mention names) I always order their pad thai with pad woon sen noodles (glass noodles). My other fave items so far: - shrimp bacon on a stick appetizer - sticky rice with mango & coconut sauce - chicken noodle (uses same noodle as pad see ew but better sauce/ seasonings/ ingredients IMO) - rad na with beef - yellow curry 'Ehh" items: - fried calamari is not that great. I've ordered a couple times and sometimes they do overcook it and it becomes so rubbery. - Chao Doi fried rice: nothing special. Rice was too soft the one time I ordered. Not horrible but also would not order again. - pad woon sen. Didn't like the sauce/ seasonings in this. Which is why I've resorted to ordering pad thai with glass noodles. There's no way to know which one you will get. Think of it as Thai restaurant roulette. Also, this bugs me, you have to ask for chop sticks and then check the bag to make sure they are included. We really wanted some thai food. Like really badly. So we looked at some lists online and this one was rated highly, so we thought, let's try it! First, we placed our order online after calling to ask them about delivery timing vs. picking up take out and they said take out would be much faster, so that's what we did. But it took over an HOUR for our take out order to be ready! They should have told us that on the phone since normally 20-30 min max for take out seems to be pretty standard so we wasted lots of time sitting there which made us feel like we could have just eaten at the restaurant itself! The food itself was pretty good with the winner being their coconut shrimp soup. That soup had so much flavor I could not stop eating it. The red curry was also tasty but not the thickest curry which is the kind I like since this almost seemed like another soup since it was so thin. But the crispy tofu in the curry was quite nice. The noodle dish we got with the thick flat noodles in a spicy sauce also was just so so. Not a lot of flavor in that dish and for being called "spicy" there was no spice. The crab rangoons were great though, but how else can fried crab and cream cheese taste really?? The fish specials are one thing I wish we ordered more of though since the papaya salad was also just so so flavor wise. Some great dishes here, and some so so dishes here. If this is your go-to takeout Thai location, I feel bad for you. The food was generic and low quality. The pad see ew was lackluster. I've had better, chewy fresh flat noodles. The sizzling grilled pork was also fine. It was pretty dry. The flavor was there for a second and then it wasn't. The sweet and sour sauce and the other sauce that came with it barely added to the taste. Even the white rice was an obvious low quality and had a rough, dry texture. If I come back (which I won't), I wouldn't even pay $1.50 for extra rice. I'd rather make it myself with some bag of Jasmine rice I can get at Ralph's. Alrighty, its time to make a review for this place. Most of my time will be around Pasadena and I never had a chance to explore until this one day. I took advantage of my free time to look for a place to eat and just be with friends, so as usual, I use yelp to help me find an interesting place I've never dined in before. I found this place with a 4 star rating and so I wanted to try it with my friends. This places first impression was okay. As we entered the place, I can already tell the hostess was a bit on the "weeds." Her tone of voice made it seems like she is in a hurry. We were sat at a corner, which is fine, I don't care where I'm sat as long as it's not near the bathroom and I can just eat. The table is okay, the one thing that I am not truly a fan of is a small jar in the middle of they able with some live plants as decor. Sorry it's just me, I feel like plants should be somewhere else with real soil and grow freely. Anyway this is my opinion as my first impression. Now another reason why I was disappointed at this place was the food and drinks timing. I ordered a Taro Milk Tea with Boba for drinks and it arrived in 15mins, I know because I turned on my timer. In addition, the drink was bland and felt like it had been pre-made. Let's look at the food now, I ordered the Fried Calamari as appetizer and the Sea Bass with Mango sauce (apologize, I do not fully remember the name of the dish). Now, in my opinion appetizers should come in first as your warm up before the main dish. In this case it was backwards. The main dish came in first then the appetizer. Disappointingly, these dishes arrived in 30 minutes (once again, I have my timer on) which should not be happening because the restaurant was not full at all. Sadly, the food was not worth the wait, my main dish the sea bass with mango sauce was enveloped with soo much sauce that I didn't really tasted anything else. In addition, the vegetables in the dish feels like it doesn't match the dish. It felt like too many distracting produce in one dish to a point that I don't know what's the purpose of the sea bass on the dish anymore. Oh yeah, almost forgot, the Fried Calamari was okay, not really to die for. Overall, even though this place disappointed me, I believe on second chances, but hopefully for my next visit none of these bad experiences will happen. If you need it mild make sure to let your server know. The dining area is clean and simple with floor to ceiling windows all around. This spot is located North of the 210 freeway near Los Robles so it's in a less glamorous part of town but the food, service and low prices make up for it. This place is family friendly, not exactly a romantic date night but its clean and nice. Sadly, I have to give this place 1 star due to their customer service. I've been a customer for years, always spending close to or over $100 just in food; as was the case today. However, just called to try and add an order of white rice to my order and the lady who answered the phone would not do it. She said they had a $10 minimum for credit card use. I kept explaining that I had already placed an order for $75 and was simply adding to it. She was of no help, kept insisting that I had to spend (an additional) $10 and recommended I add some drinks. Honestly this used to be my favorite place but I am so annoyed. I placed an order about 2:55 pm. Said it would be ready at 3:15. I get there at 3:10 and the whole place is closed. ALSO there are about 5 signs all over sayin "OPEN" "WE ARE OPEN" And a tiny handwritten paper at the door saying "we are closed 2:30-3:30pm. Ok so why did you take my money for an order I was expecting to eat during closed hours?? I can guarantee you the money came out of my account. At 3:45 I'm finally able to get thru the phone. And they tell me my order was cancelled ....... WELL THAT IS NEWS TO ME SEEING AS I STILL PAID?! Don't order from here. We USED to love ordering from this restaurant up until today! My wife ordered 2 fried rice and in the past we've always asked them to spare the shrimp due to our son's severe seafood allergy. They were good about not putting shrimp up until today. My wife specifically put "chicken only please". We called to let them know and a man answered rudely and hung up on me. We called them back and simply wanted an apology. Instead he kept saying we're going to refund you (continually raising his voice) when all we wanted was a simple apology.
