Found this spot nearby when I went to a local theatre-Boston Court. Good food, the staff was nice, there's parking and the vibe is cozy with charm. I've been twice already! First time I got beef pad se ew and it was yummy. I went for early dinner on a Tuesday and the place was empty. The second time I went I got tofu pad Thai and it too was yummy. This time I went for lunch (they have great lunch specials) and the place was busy and buzzing. Note that here they put sautéed purple onions in their pad Thai. I'm used to onions on the dish being green onions. I happen to hate onions so it was a bummer, but I just picked them out and it was fine. Both times I got Thai iced tea, I'm lactose intolerant so can't usually have it. They have oat milk to substitute for the milk. There's a small parking lot with a couple of designated spots and you can enter through the back. There is also street parking nearby. read more

I first ate at Daisy Mint in 2010 and truly enjoyed dining there and loved the food. Oddly I had not been back since. Shame on me for missing out on their delicious food for sixteen years. I seem to recall back then it was more Thai fusion than it is now. But I have consumed a lot of beer, wine, cocktails in the interim so my brain could be foggy on that account. Nevertheless the food we ate was fantastic. I would love to get bottles of their sauces to cook with at home. The summer wraps are largely lettuce and Thai mint - I prefer having a bit more carrot and cuke in them, but I'm not the boss. The spinach peanut with tofu had epic spinach and tasty tofu. The Chinese broccoli in the Pad See Ew was nice and crisp. I guess there is parking in the lot in the back of the store. Seems to be marked for specific stores. I wonder, does the Spa really get that busy they need that many spots? I didn't see anything reserved for Daisy patrons. But I figured most of the other businesses were not open in the evening. I can understand why Daisy Mint has many positive reviews. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, the space feels welcoming, and the food presentation is genuinely appealing. In fact, the photos of the dishes were what initially drew me in and made me want to try the place. Unfortunately, while the presentation looked great, the actual food was underwhelming for me. Fried Tofu - 2.5/5. The Fried Tofu tasted like something premade and reheated rather than freshly prepared. The dipping sauce also felt generic - like a standard sweet-and-hot sauce mixed with crushed peanuts. It was decent, but not memorable. Roti & Curry - 2.5/5. The Roti & Curry had a similar issue. The roti itself seemed reheated from a premade product, and the curry sauce tasted very generic. It lacked any distinct flavor or character that would set it apart from countless other Thai restaurants. Pad Thai - 3/5. The Pad Thai was average at best. For my taste, it leaned far too sweet, and I wished there was more balance and complexity beyond just sweetness. Thai BBQ Chicken - 1.5/5. The biggest disappointment was the Thai B.B.Q. Chicken. Since the menu mentioned "15 minutes," I assumed the chicken would be grilled fresh to order and served hot off the grill. That expectation made me genuinely excited to try it. Unfortunately, the dish that arrived felt like the opposite. The chicken was cold, not freshly grilled, and the meat tasted stale rather than tender and juicy. It honestly seemed like it had been cooked earlier and reheated before serving. On top of that, the flavor itself was surprisingly bland. Overall, the food tasted like what you would find at many generic Thai restaurants, where the dishes feel standardized and lacking individuality. Nothing particularly stood out in terms of flavor or freshness. Whenever I'm in Pasadena, this is my MUST visit, go-to!!! I crave it! It's a cute little charming restaurant with a local vibe. I can't get over how tasty and addictive the spicy eggplant is. A hint of spice and soo tasty. The sauce on the crying tiger is a tangy, spicy lime sauce that I'm determined to figure out what makes it soooo mouthwatering. Sweet like Daisy, refreshing like mint. Daisy Mint is a charming little Thai restaurant in Pasadena. My family of three came here for early dinner/ late lunch yesterday. We shared their Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and Red Pork Plate. The flavors were delicious, and each plate generously & beautifully served. Their red pork plate was delicious. My one wish would be that they served more of it, as I felt it was a couple pieces on top of a lot of rice. Our noodles were delicious. Pad Thai was my favorite for the night. Service was great! This restaurant is so, so cute. I was recommended this by a college professor and knew i had to come see what it's about... Their Pad thai portions are big and very sharing friendly. Their coconut chicken and shrimp noodle soup are both very good. Big bowl of soup to share. I was feeling health conscious and went for the salmon wrap and liked that they made it more tangy, but did not like the texture of the shredded salmon bits. I walked here from my work office for dinner. I ordered through their website. I ordered the steak salad and thai tea. It was ready in about 15 minutes. It is so cutely decorated and wished I would have eaten it there. It was ready as soon as I arrived and the cashier was super friendly. They do have some lunch specials but we opted for the full menu since we were sharing. We ordered the pad see ew with chicken and the papaya salad. It didn't take long for us to get our food. Pad See Ew. This was amazing. Great flavor, good amount of chicken, perfectly cooked veggies. We did order this medium spice but it didn't seem to have any spice at all. Papaya Salad. A generous portion. Great taste. I do think it needed to be a little saltier but it was pretty fresh and light. The menu specified that this was a spicy dish but it didn't have a hint of spice at all. I really enjoyed trying this place out and I will keep coming back to try more menu items. I hear the eggplant here is one of their must haves. I had to knock down a star because once the food came out, they forgot about us. We had to get up about 3-4x to ask for drink refills, to ask for the table spices, to ask for to-go containers, etc. But when we were ordering we had multiple people ask if we were ready to order, even though we had already put in our order. The food is outstanding and that is the main draw: fresh, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. Every dish is bold with flavors that satisfies all your Thai food cravings.The menu offers a great variety, from classic Thai favorites to house specialties and everything we tried was delicious. We ordered the Steak Salad which is served with rice; quality, flavorful, grilled beef on a bed of lettuce, onions and a green chili sauce was unlike any Thai steak salad I had. It was delicious and I could have easily had another order. The Daisy Noodles were decadent and rich in both texture and flavor; the peanut sauce was balanced and satisfying. Although the sauce is rich in flavor, I wish there was an protein or vegetable option to add to the noodles. However, if you like silky noodles in a rich flavorful sauce, this noodle dish is delish. The Summer Roll is a healthy green lettuce wrapped in rice paper and served with a very flavorful peanut sauce which really made these rolls delicious, otherwise, the rolls were ordinary and perhaps my least favorite item ordered. My litmus test for all Thai restaurants is their Green Curry... Daisy mint passed the test! Flavor spots on, plenty of meat, noodle has the consistent chewy texture. - Pineapple fried rice: 4.5/5. Really solid. However, it's a shame that the food didn't quite live up to the service standard. It's very disappointing when a signature dish like the chicken pad Thai misses the mark. Ketchup as the dominant flavor definitely doesn't sound like the authentic Thai experience one would hope for. Of course, i do not know if ketchup was used, but the dish tasted like it was. The vegetable stir fry had fresh and tasty vegetables.On the other hand, it had fatty pieces of pork, which took away from the dish. The pad thai is one of my favorites, and the Thai yellow curry is also quite tasty, with a little bit of a kick but not so much that it's too spicy to eat. The cream cheese wontons are crunchy and savory. The chicken satee with the peanut sauce has a very generous portion and is big enough to be a meal for 1 or great to share. My bf thoroughly enjoyed the soup and the mixed vegetables with shrimp added. The service is really good. We ordered the pad thai, pad see ew and papaya salad. The pad thai and pad see ew were ordered from the lunch special menu. I was surprised to see a lunch special on a weekend. The portion of the pad thai and pad see ew were pretty generous. Everything that we order tasted really flavorful and was tasty. I've only ordered takeout but I have to say Daisy Mint might be the best Thai I've had on the east side. My favorite is the yellow curry, and I've had a lot of different ones all over this side of town, and this is the best one I've had hands down. Flavorful, rich, and the amount you get nets you at least (for me) 2-3 days worth. The prices are also really fair, especially right now when everything feels so staggeringly high. I also make a stop at the cute bookshop (Book Alley), and Blue Rooster Art Supplies to grab some pens or other supplies- they have a cute cat named Lizard (it's close to the bookstore). Barely any chicken UGH There was no way in the world I would've paid this price $$ for potatoes and carrots vs chicken it is a complete rip off. This dish is in a soup container so you don't realize it until you get home. I was beyond upset. Don't go here. This is a very good Thai restaurant in East Pasadena. I came back in 2016 and was rushed through my meal because they close so early. I never came back because it seemed a little rude at the time. I came again and found the food is actually delightful. Service was much friendlier than I remembered. However, the fact is they close early, and if you want to relax and enjoy your meal unrushed, do not come in the last hour of service. Last call is 3 minutes prior to their closing, and they clearly want to get out of there. I understand, but just don't come in the last hour and expect to leisurely enjoy your meal. It's a very tiny restaurant but with a nice, hip decor. Parking can be a little tricky, but we managed to find something. The food itself is high quality and quite good all around. We had the chicken pad see ew, which was terrific. The crying tiger was also excellent, with delicious flavor and good quality beef. The Thai BBQ chicken is a standout. Many places make it with goopy wet sauce on top. This place makes it exactly how we like it. More of a marinade that is then grilled to a dry, crispy exterior. It's really great. The cashew nut chicken was also excellent. Usually, at other places, this isn't spicy, but they do it spicy here, and I like it a lot. The only misfire of the night was the spicy fried rice. Not only was it not spicy at all, but it was outright bland. Not good. Basically, come for an early dinner, but definitely come and try out this place. It's some good eating. Check it out! read more
