Yet another of my favorite local spots comes through again. I absolutely Love the Orange Chicken. I've been jamming' on this one since this spot opened. Always plentiful and delicious with a nice spice to it. I always get the lunch special with Brown Fried Rice and Chow Mien, and you get a tasty, crispy Vegetable Egg Roll too. So good. I'll get at least 3 meals out of this $15 lunch. Nathan gave me excellent service, was extremely personable and the food came out pretty quickly. As usual. I'm a Chinese food take out guy and I love that by the time I get home the food is still piping hot. And so tasty. Go took Master if you're hungry for some good Chinese food at a good value! Lunch combo advertised as coming with egg roll. What I received was a spring roll. General Tao's chicken tasted more like sweet and sour chicken when comparing it to others that I have had. It also had peppers, onion, carrots, broccoli and zucchini). The fried rice was bland. Service was good. Portion size was good. read more

We were craving Chinese food and found this small family owned place last month. Love the fresh veggies in their Kung Pao Chicken. They have veggie chow mein and eggplant with garlic sauce for vegetarians. Orange chicken and beef broccoli were solid. Wonton soup was yummy and packaged well in our to-go order last month. Wok Master has been around for a long time and its easy to see why. Like most Americans, I love Chinese food and this spot always hits the mark. The orange chicken is my go to. It's crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and has that sweet flavor with just the right hint of whatever makes orange chicken so addictive. The chow mein noodles are solid too. I like to add a little soy sauce and that combo always satisfies. On special days, I treat myself to the shrimp fried rice. Its packed with flavor and definitely worth getting. The place is super clean and the staff is always friendly and ready to help. Parking can be a bit tricky sometimes because the strip mall has a bunch of great businesses, but it's worth it every time. read more

Little hole in the wall that's a tofu gem in Pasadena. I always go for the orange tofu and the salt & pepper tofu (crispy and salty, love it). It comes with white rice and is enough to feed two people twice. $35 for two plates is reasonable in Pasadena. I usually take it to go but recently ate it at the location and the service needs to be turned up a notch, at least refill my water once. This place use to be my go to , but now it's just over priced & they don't even put the right portions to ur combination fried rice . Roughly about 18 bucks no drink or combo included !! Which is insane , For them just to put 2 freakin shrimps barley any bbq pork mainly all fat . But they do put a lot of extra chicken in the rice that taste awful and low quality . Most of the Pasadena Chinese restaurants I looked up had fake-sounding reviews and/or a suspiciously high number of them, so I went with this one. Glad I did. Based on one visit, this place seems to nail all the essentials I want in a Chinese restaurant: good food (the Curry Chicken was yummy, plentiful, and made from white meat), friendly service (from the 20something kid with earrings), modest pricing (hard to beat $11-13 lunch specials), and a pleasant enough interior space. Bathroom seemed clean. The only demerit I found was a promotional poster in the window for Shen Yun, that religious, right-wing dance crap that's constantly touring. But whatever, I'm not gonna dock them for it. read more

I'd seen this place recommended for a while and decided to try it. The food comes out quickly enough. But it's not very good. I got the Chinese pepper steak and the meat felt weird to the mouth and the sauce tasted funny. The fried rice I got it with wasn't fried and has nothing in it. May as we have gotten the steamed rice and added soy sauce myself. My boyfriend got the sole and black bean sauce and it was no better. Pretty bland he said. Not sure why thus place has 4 stars, only good thing wad the lunch prices but I won't be back since I ended up tossing the rest as the smell started to get to me. read more

Not good. All the food was overly salted. We ordered fried rice, which was stale and flavorless. We ordered orange chicken, which could have been better if it wasn't so salty. Chow mein was okay. And mind you.. I like my food on the saltier side, so trust me when I say, it was too salty. read more

It's a little pricey but our go-to for Chinese take out in Pasadena. We've never dined in but there's plenty of seating and located in a small shopping center so parking is available. I doubt it's any healthier than Panda but the food is made fresh and delicious. We also love supporting mom & pop restaurants - the folks who work there are also very friendly. Our staples are the hot & sour soup, orange chicken, combo fried rice & green beans. Yum! read more

I have consistently been pleased with my meals at Wok Master. Their Spicy Eggplant, Mongolian Beef, Kung Pao Chicken and Hot and Sour Soup are all my go-to's. I love this place! The lunch express menu is an amazing deal, y'all--don't miss out! I like that the lunch menu is from 11pm-4pm cause that's a big window of time for those who might have odd lunch hours (some places have lunch menus that are great but the timing is so restrictive). $7.99-$8.99 for a BIG portion. The lunch express is a dish and it comes with either fried rice or steamed white rice (you can see other people's pics for that). I'll upload a recent menu tho! It can either really fill you up for one meal, or can be split into two smaller ones that would also be fine for someone with a smaller appetite. It also comes with an eggroll that's freshly made :) My meal was ready in 10 minutes (if you order lots, expect it to take slightly more time but they really do try to be efficient and get you out of there to enjoy your food). The man taking orders and cooking was so kind and he's so grateful for tips. They've got lots of hand sanitizer and little markings on the ground to help w/social distancing. I'm a vegetarian, so the menu I operate on is slightly more limited. BUT I have to say that the Orange Tofu is SO good. Whatever glaze they use is addicting lol, I couldn't stop eating it! I highly recommend that dish, whether or not you're vegetarian. The tofu itself was soft on the inside and crunchier on the outside and made for a delightful sensation. Parking-wise, it's pretty open right now. It CAN get busy, but during COVID, there just isn't as much business. Which is why I highly recommend you check this place out! read more

They charged me two dollars more for a plain chow mein. The chow mein was very greasy. It had a few pieces of green onions in it, I ordered chicken and mixed vegetables. It was not an equal ratio. It had more chicken than vegetables, which was kind of gross because the chicken was really slimy and had more vegetables to it it may have been OK. I just found my new favorite restaurant for Chinese food in the Pasadena area. It's a family owned restaurant and the staff is very friendly. They treat you as if you are part of the family. My favorite dishes are the cream cheese wontons and the crispy noodles. Love love love the filling of the cream cheese wontons (the extra ingredients they add to the filling makes the wontons 1000x better). They are super crispy. I love that they use thicker noodles for the crispy noodle dish. The veggies, meat and sauce perfectly complement the crispy noodles. Keep in mind that Wok Master closes on Sundays. read more

I recommend to go during the lunch special because the price is unbeatable for what you get. The owner still looks the same lol and always has a happy look on his face while serving us the food. It was very odd for us to go for dinner but it sounded so delicious. We got the $35 family menu which offers two entrees, 1 large soup, egg rolls, and two small sides of rice. I really didn't have to order the 3rd side of rice because they give you plenty. The bill did come out to $60 and that's because I also ordered honey walnut shrimp, one drink, and small rice.
