Overall the place looks unassuming, quiet, and homey but oh does the flavor of the dishes pack a punch. Delicious dishes with good portions and fast service. The staff is very attentive and friendly, would return!

Absolutely thrilled with our return to Chim Thai Street Food after a couple years away! We enjoyed a cozy outdoor dinner (had the whole patio to ourselves, felt like a private event!) and the experience was just as wonderful as we remembered. Chim has clearly grown in popularity. Most indoor tables were full, and there was a steady stream of takeout orders, which says a lot about the food quality. The menu was straightforward, with a few new-to-me dishes. I skipped the durian sticky rice (durian isn't my thing), but tried Lao beer for the first time, definitely recommend! Our usual favorites didn't disappoint: the Pad See Ew with beef and the Crispy Pork Belly with rice. The pork belly dish stood out, bursting with vibrant citrus, mild heat, and plenty of Thai basil. Just an incredible flavor combo I could eat every day. Service was also impressive. One friendly, attentive woman ran the entire dining room with grace and efficiency, making us feel right at home. Chim remains a gem for quality Thai food. Can't wait for my next meal here. Five stars, hands down!

Came here after a hike on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was pretty empty so we got seated right away. We ordered the spicy basil chicken, crispy pork belly and pad see ew. All of the dishes were really good and flavorful. The inside of the restaurant was pretty vibey so I liked how it presented. The food came out quick. I got to take some home because we were stuffed after eating. The flavors were good but the staff did mention that it's not as authentic as thai street food since they didn't have all the right ingredients.

Small, cozy Thai spot with really friendly service -- and a parking lot, which is always a win. We ordered the kee mao chow mein (not too salty, but definitely ask for a side of fish sauce with chilis to elevate it). The fried pork appetizer was AMAZING, especially with the vinegar fish sauce. My friend got the pad see ew with beef, and that was just as good. Everything was packed with flavor (nothing bland at all), portions were solid, and prices were reasonable. Definitely coming back.

I was really impressed with how fast they made my order! I walked in and placed an order for Pad Thai. I had my food in what felt like 5 minutes. The dish was hot, flavorful, and had fresh bean sprouts. The quality of the ingredients were good, which partially justifies the price. This is a great location to pick up food if you're working in the area or on a way to an event. The interior is cute, but cramped.

Get their braised pork dish, as well as their mango sticky rice. Everything we ordered was good, but those two dishes really stood out. The braised pork was so tender, juicy, and fatty in all the right places. And their sticky rice was delicious, smothered in yummy coconut sauce. Thai street food at its finest at Chim! Their menu is extensive, and lots to choose from. Besides my two favorite dishes for the night, we also ordered their pad Thai and chim fried chicken. I loved them both as well! The place itself is small, and really gives off a street food type of vibe. The lady working there was very friendly, and our food came out in timely manner. Overall, really enjoyed my experience here for dinner. Would I come back? Absolutely!

its another good day to be back at Chim. Pad thai was amazing as usual garnished with fresh veggies. Tried the Crispy pork dish today and WOW do I love the way it was seasoned. Its not as crunchy crispy as I imagined when I ordered but was still yummy. :) generous portion of rice When they close during the afternoon, you can still eat your takeout outside if you order before they close.

They say the best way to judge a restaurant is by trying its basic or most popular dishes. So we went with the Pad See Ew, Panang Curry with rice, and the Crispy Chicken in Soy Garlic, but all of them landed in the same place: average. Pad See Ew lacked the depth and balance. The noodles and meat didn't have that well-known smoky flavor, which usually makes Pad See Ew shine. Instead, everything tasted a bit flat, as if it hadn't been cooked at a high enough heat or with enough attention. The texture of the noodles felt slightly off as well, leaning more limp than pleasantly chewy. Panang Curry was decent but not memorable. The beef was tender, which was a plus, but the creamy sauce from coconut, mildly spiced has missing the richness and aromatics. Crispy Chicken in Soy Garlic: had potential, but the seasoning threw it off. The chicken was crispy, but the soy-garlic sauce was too salty, which ended up overpowering the entire plate. Instead of offering a sweet-savory balance, it felt heavy and a bit overwhelming. The dining environment didn't help the experience either. The noise level was surprisingly high, not because of customers but because of staff talking loudly among themselves. It made it difficult to enjoy the meal or carry a conversation. Parking was another frustration, small and shared with two other establishments, so finding a space was unnecessarily stressful. Overall, nothing really impressed. Between the average food, the loud atmosphere, and the parking hassle, this place just isn't for me.

I have been coming to this location for several years. I enjoy the cute Thai decor and friendly, quick service. The idea of a street food menu is also very appealing. I often order the dry noodles - most recently the ramen noodles with ground chicken and Thai basil. It is not too sweet but has a touch of heat and sweetness. You can request your desired spice level. I also enjoy their appetizers and green curry.

Don't judge a book by its cover. This little nondescript cafe could easily be overlooked on a one way street. Fortunately for us, we were at an estate sale around the corner. So we went to our trusted companion Yelp! To check out the reviews. I realized I had actually bookmarked it based on word of mouth on great Thai spots. Totally worth a visit! We had the dog with us and sat outside. The service was quick and efficient. The food was terrific. Get the soup! We actually took some home as the portions were generous and we added our leftovers to recreate at home by adding more broth and veggies. Highly recommend.

Was craving Thai food so my friends and I decided to try this spot in Pasadena. The restaurant is small and clean but it is in a tiny plaza. The parking lot was also very tiny and street parking is a hassle. We ordered the Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and a drink. The Pad Thai (3.5/5) ok but they didn't give lime so it was the spark of sour to it. The Pad See Ew (3/5) it was very oily and it tasted like what you expect it to be. The drink had more than half of the cup of ice and was very sweet. I would not recommend getting a drink here. The service was fast and our waitress was nice.

This place was recommended to us by some friends and I'm so glad they let us know! The food was delicious. Some of the best flavors I've had. We even took home leftovers and they were still delicious the next day. I really liked the fried rice and my husband really enjoyed the Kee Maow Chow Mein. It's pretty small inside but there are a few tables for a sit down experience. The service was so kind and helpful as well. Just a small note: there was no bathroom for customers or a place to wash hands but they did have hand sanitizer (I took out the trash before dinner and was a little bummed I couldn't wash with soap and water before eating but it would have been fine had we decided to do take out instead). I think next time I'll come I'll do take out. There is a small lot next to the restaurant you can park at, good for running in and grabbing something. I can't wait to try more of the menu. It all looks fantastic.

    Pork fried rice
    Eva K.

I used to love Chims! The fried rice used to be so good. I don't know what happened. One of those food containers to go of rice and maybe one egg scrambled and 10 pieces of thin sliced pork is not working $18.95. Unfortunately I ordered two of them. Ugh never again. I know all Thai places have their unique spin on things but 3 ingredient Fried rice is not worth it to me. It really used to taste different.

The quality was solid, and everything came out hot. The chicken wings were great, the garlic green beans and cucumber salad were amazing, and the signature spicy ramen was really good too. It was a bit greasy, almost like birria, but the meat was tender and the broth tasted like it had been cooking for 48 hours deep, rich, and full of flavor. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the Korean beef. It was way too sweet and didn't really give Korean BBQ flavor. The meat seemed more steamed than grilled, and not even vinegar or chili oil could save it for me. Other than that, everything else was fresh, flavorful, and worth coming back for.
