This place has quite the reputation, as I hear the who's who of celebs come here to have a great time. I hear Sunday is the day to be here..FYI We came here on a Saturday afternoon and had a blast! The place to be is their outside area in the back. Drinks and hookah make for a good time out there. They have a lovely group of young ladies working the space to get you food, drinks, etc... The inside is nice as well...a good space! TVs all around so its a good space to catch some sports. Its a good vibe here!

My high school reunion planned an event here at Chapman & Kirby on a Friday night and it was a great experience. We hosted the event on the private side of Chapman & Kirby and and was glad that we did. Our main bartender William was very helpful the entire night there was another young lady, but I can't remember her name. The ambience of the establishment was very nice like a typical upscale bar, the vibe fit just for the occasion. I ordered the millionaire variation cocktail and drink those all night. I had about three of them and I loved it. It wasn't too strong. It wasn't too sweet. It was a perfect cocktail for me hence why I ordered three. For food, Choices I ordered some egg rolls. I can't remember the exact name of the eggrolls, but they were pretty good a little spicy for me but overall very good for lounge food. Now that I think of it, they kind of reminded me of the southwest eggrolls at Chili's. Overall, my experience here was very good. I will be coming back with another group of friends and not for a high school reunion event but overall it was a nice experience.

Didn't take many photos of the food but I had the BEST time at Chapman & Kirby. This was the highlight of my weekend trip! For one, the service was outstanding, we loved our server and got to chat with the owner. Everyone was sweet and attentive. It obviously gets busy on Sundays, reservations are highly recommended. Without this, we probably would've had hours long wait to get a table. With high demand, there are turn time limits on the tables as well. We had ours for about 2 hours which was plenty of time and got to walk around enjoying the outdoor day party vibes. The DJ and performers are great, playing old school to current music. My homegirls loved it. Our food was good! We especially enjoyed the Ceviche, it was refreshing on a hot day. The Chicken and waffles are good, grits, the crispy shrimp dish, and I got the BBQ plate which was filling. I liked the meat, it was tender. I wish the mimosa towers were bottomless but it's big enough for 4 rounds for 4 people, a decent size. Everyone had good energy and southern charm like I expected. Vibes were immaculate. Next time I visit, this is a must! What they say? Never leave Houston on Sunday!!

I loved the day party vibes this place had! We arrived at 4 , got the table and stayed for hours, good music and good food! We ordered bites that were devoured in seconds! They had funnel cake fries fantastic!!! Would recommend!!!

Everybody knows Chapman & Kirby for day parties. I've always come after brunch somewhere else and just get drinks here but this time I actually came and got food. Our service was actually great and the food was so good! The catfish and grits was perfect and the French toast and chicken tenders were so good together. The only thing that made me a little sad was that my espresso martini didn't come in a martini glass (first world problems)

The ambiance and vibe was nice. The DJ played some good music. The food was pretty good. I had the Chicken and Waffles and a friend had the Salmon Cesar Salad. The portion sizes were decent. The service was also good and the prices were reasonable.

Jalynn is the best server. Food was delicious. Oxtail and Gouda Gruts. Mimosa tower was fire!!!

I thought Chicago/New York brunch but you definitely have not brunched until you brunch in Houston Texas! This was definitely experience! Bartenders were on point and helpful though there was a huge crowd! We came early and it still kind of packed. Great DJs.. so many places to sit/stand. You do have to get a table if you don't want to eat or stand at the bar. Most of the chairs/tables/booths were reserved for hookah and/or food. I suggest RSVPing and paying for the table. The price point was fair but note this is a tourist type of place but it's known by the locals at the same time. I definitely had a great time but wish we could've got a table.

Houston doesn't miss when it comes to great food. This food was right on par with the catfish and grits. It was very flavorful and filling. The drinks were also good . It was very busy for Sunday brunch but the service was still good and the staff were great. The music for brunch was a real old school vibe. I suggest checking it out when in this area

Attended the Queen Brunch and it was a fun time. The space was set up well for performances and eating. The buffet brunch was very good. I was self serve and I got my fill. The servers were on it with the drinks. They give you a chance to make change which I didn't know but was glad so you can tip. The performers were funny, beautiful and talented. It was a one time experience for me but I'm glad I went.

The one table without a cover belonged to us :/

I usually only leave 5-star reviews, but my experience at Chapman and Kirby was very disappointing. I came with a party of six, and we were visiting from out of town. It was raining, and we were seated at the only table without a tent. We were told the tent was broken and there was no backup. Everyone else had covered seating, but no one made any effort to accommodate us so we could eat or drink comfortably. To make matters worse, they kept our deposit even though they made no attempt to provide proper service. You would think a group of out-of-town guests would be treated with more care, but that wasn't the case. Poor customer service and definitely not what I expected.

Chapman & Kirby! Was a good night out to end my trip! It was very nice and the dj was awesome! This is the spot to go to on a Saturday night and brunch Sundays is fun! It's very spacious inside and you can get a bottle/section if you want. I had a great time here did not want to leave. I did not try the food but it the options look good and they are known for a good brunch. I recommend here if you want to have a good time and enjoy yourself in Houston put it in your bookmark. Parking is scan and pay and can be $12-30 depending on how long you stay. The lot is right across the street from restaurant. -Marshay D.

Chapman & Kirby let us know, "Never leave Houston on a Sunday!" And our flight was at 8am on Sunday, haha. My friend and I made a reservation online for around 7pm on a Saturday. We were actually the first people in the restaurant which was fine was us. We were greeted by the bartender who was also our waiter, very nice man. Great service. The restaurants aesthetics are on point! Even the bathroom is nice; and you HAVE to take a photo before entering. We started off with two tequila shots as the night was just beginning. They have a pretty good cocktail list and prices are fairly cheap. For food, we ordered with their bang bang shrimp, mac and cheese, fries and caesar salad. I love a bar with good food! Music was playing in the background and wasn't too loud so you can still have a conversation. My friend and I sat and chatted for a good 2+ hours before we decided to visit nearby bars. When we're back in Houston, we will make sure to visit on a SUNDAY and take a flight back home on a Tuesday!

Ask the Community - Chapman & Kirby

Is this a good place for a birthday? Do they the play hip hop on the weekends?

Yes. This is a perfect place to celebrate they offer outdoor dining that's more of a day party. Inside has a live DJ with great music selections.

How much is bottle seevice? Still no answer from Via email?

Diana, thank you for your message. Our prices range per night and per section. Prices could range from 150 to 1500. Please contact Eddie@ChapmanAndKirby.com, He is our host and can help you best.…

How are Thursday's around 7:30ish? Is there a DJ? Can a small group be easily accommodated?

Yes. Thursdays nights are my favorite because it's happy hour all day. No dj but they have music.

How are Saturday nights? Is it a place to hang and fun like a happy hour with dance or just a good dinner spot. Looking to go on a Saturday night

Saturday nights are the the nights you need to show up a little early. The atmosphere at Chapman & Kirby is always stellar but Saturday night is the best

My child did come with so this kid friendly. The food was definitely a nine out of 10 And not so much of just the taste I'm factoring in the presentation as well. The sticky rice was amazing. I mean the shrimp had the perfect type of heat mind you I did Houston restaurant week. So I got three course meal for $39. My first course was the sticky rice 9.5 out of 10 My second course was the fried chicken smothered with gravy and mushroom mashed potatoes and kale greens .. I'm gonna give it a eight out of 10 because I did not like the mushrooms. This gravy wasn't seasoned very well, but it was still very good. My last course was the brownie and oh my God it was absolutely delicious I think that was like my favorite part. I really wanted to order another brownie because it was really good. Overall, I have to get this place at nine out of 10. I'm definitely coming back to try some other meals.

You seat yourself and waiters will come find you. This happened relatively quickly for us as we sat outside. There is a patio and indoor seating options. Definitely gives off neighborhood bar vibes, very iconic of a Heights bar. Getting our meals took quite a while - Definitely a spot to take your time, potentially enjoy the weather if it's not too swelteringly hot, and order a cocktail or two. I ordered the Spicy Shakshuka (4/5), which came with four pieces of pita. I requested some more pita and got four extra pieces (5/5 service). The dish itself was good, with the right amount of heat and actually quite filling with a surprisingly good fresh pita bread that was just crispy enough on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I think it's a bit pricey for the size. Downside: The complimentary water doesn't come out cold, which is unfortunate on a hot Houston day. I will definitely come back to try its cocktails, as many people were enjoying one. Overall, I can definitely see why it is a cornerstone of the Heights bar scene.

Considering the recent shutter of other places (#2) within the hospitality umbrella, it's not too big of a surprise that Wooster's would also be in the crosshairs. The space was always a nice mix of indoor and outdoor seating, which combined with its dedicated parking lot made this an easy drinking outlet for all kinds of occasions. The intimate indoor space was lovely and well ventilated, and it felt like there wasn't ever a moment where the bar wasn't slammed. The outdoor space was much of the same, with lots of tables and chairs, and even the trendy swing chairs facing the city. The only thing that was a little bit of a liability were those open flame heaters; it would only take on person to accidentally walk into one or trip onto it. For libations, the drinks were well priced, well made, and always potent. I appreciated the aesthetics, as well as the bartenders who made them. The only part that wasn't exciting was the limited food menu, which did its part as munchies for the drink heavy crowd, but was mediocre otherwise.
