Im over this shop!!! I dropped my vehicle off on 3/30. They are horrible at returning calls!!! They don't give updates. I've been without a car for 2 weeks. They waited until Friday after everything is closed to tell me they have never spoken to the other drivers insurance. My car is drivable. They didn't have to keep my car this entire time. They are holding my vehicle to collect storage fees. I've gotten 2 stories from 2 different workers that contradict each other. They are 100% shady. The service was great my car was available for pick up earlier then expected until the next time I drove my car I noticed the mirror on the drivers seat was shattered, this was not how I dropped my car off. I had a 10:00 am appointment for an estimate on 7/17/2020, I arrived a few minutes early, completed the paperwork, after waiting for 10-15 mins I ask the receptionist if she knew how long it would be, I had a doctor appointment at 11:30, she proceeded to tell me that it was going to take longer maybe an hour, because they were behind in their paperwork and would have to get caught up first, she told me that I could come back in a couple of hours. I dropped my car off and they didn't even get around to doing an estimate for 2.5 weeks. I called 4 times within 1 week and left 1 email and never got a call back. I literally had to drop in to get any feedback. They are extremely nice but they do not follow up and just leave you hanging. I literally got everything finalized 1 week before my rental was up which did not give me much time to find a car as my car was finally rendered totalled. My car got rear ended Oct. 22 and I turned to Chapman to get it fixed. It was a claim covered by insurance. I had a hard time getting it scheduled and getting a call back from the estimator and eventually escalated to the manager M. Drate. My car went in 11/1/22 and was in the shop for more than two months. Completion dates kept moving every time I inquired about my car. I had hoped to get regular updates without having to initiate them myself which rarely happened. First it was waiting to get disassembled to know what parts are needed, then it was getting the parts, then it was waiting for the insurance payment. It was a tedious process. When I picked up my car January 10, I was presented my final invoice and payed the customer balance. This week 3/1, 1 1/2 months later, I was contacted by M. Drate that I still owe money and was presented a different invoice than the one I paid back in January with an ending paragraph alerting me that this would be going to collections if not settled quickly. What a way to communicate with a multiple Chapman car owner! No, I think we are finished buying Chapman vehicles. A sad testament for a family owned business in Arizona. read more

The shop does great work. I did not utilize insurance and paid out of pocket. I had about 4 quarter sized indents on my rear bumper and it needed to be replaced. My vehicle was repaired ahead of schedule, with OEM parts. It looks as if it never happened. I'm very particular and even the slightest offsets bug me, so not being able to even tell the bumper was replaced is amazing to me. My estimator was Jose Leon and he was very helpful, kept me updated, and and went out of his way to provide me with invoices for the parts used on my vehicle. I requested them as I like to keep a record for my own file. I'd like to specifically point out that I really appreciated that Jose communicated with me through email. I do not have time to answer calls, and I prefer email. The whole process was pretty effortless and fast. read more

I had the displeasure of dealing with Patricia over a door ding on a Kia that ended up costing about $2500 to repair. The outrageous price for a Kia door ding fix aside, this shop could not be bothered to communicate properly with myself or the other party involved. Unless Patricia was calling to tell me I had to pay more money (4 different times) there was no status update and I had to email and call several times to arrange a rental car for the other party. I previously had a good experience getting my car repaired at Chapman in Tempe after a minor collision, so I returned there the next time I needed repairs after a bigger collision. Big mistake. The repairs took three weeks, and only moved that fast because I called regularly. They communicated poorly about the process, expectations, cost, etc. The costs were way out of whack, and there were multiple communication gaps between the shop and my insurance broker, leading me to get bad information more than once. At one point, I was nearly ready to have them just put my car together unfinished so I could take it elsewhere, and I regret that I didn't because the quality was so bad. The door edge plastic trim was done so poorly, it fell off a day or two after I got the car back. The car battery failed a couple weeks later (my paperwork says the shop replaced the battery, but it's unclear if that happened/if I was charged for a new battery or not). The AC (which they had "fixed") didn't work, so I had to take it back to them. It worked OK after their second repair. But now, a couple months later, it's again not working and also runs very loud. I called 5 days ago to see if they can again fix what they didn't do correctly the first time, and no one has called back. A disappointing, stressful experience all around. read more

Avoid at all costs!!! Their work is insanely sloppy and their communication is dismal. Not only did they actually LOSE pieces that were already on the car and try to deliver it as if it were whole, they put lives at risk by not securing pieces down with screws. Frickin' SCREWS were taken out and not replaced. It's ridiculous. I've never seen anything like this before. Chapman won't even answer their phones if you call, or they'll send you to voicemail, so good luck ever getting a hold of them to complain. Please please please go anywhere else. Being the owner of a small business, I am always paying close attention to how other business treat their customers. Chapman was great! The service was great! The prices were competitive. But most importantly, I felt that they were working to help me and serve me as a customer rather than finding ways to make money (Kamber was that awesome). It ended up costing less to fix my car than I expected because they were able to buff out some scratches rather than having to do major body work. I will recommend this place to anyone I know! OUSTANDING from start to finish. Minor fender bender turned into an opportunity to get all the little blemishes on the car repaired. Jackie and Kim at the front desk were friendly, polite, knowledgeable and very helpful. Jose was amazing, I literally went over the other non accident related blemishes on the car once with him and he didn't skip a beat. Everything I asked to be given a little attention on was done and done flawlessly. He was super knowledgeable and very attentive over the little extras that I wanted fixed and he was able to get it done at a very fair price. Kamber was my eyes and ears and kept me informed of what stage my car was in at all times. She was there for me pretty much from cradle to grave. Me and my boyfriend dropped off our car to get repaired for a small crack in the front bumper August 18th. They told us it'll be ready in 7 days we called and they said sorry it's gonna be be ready in another 7 days ... another 7 days go by no one contacted us so we call them it's very difficult to get in reach with them , phones being disconnected, calling multiple times just to get someone to pick up. Car isn't ready. Oh wow it's gonna be another week. It's a Tuesday and the man said it'll be done Friday. Friday comes it's a month later now, he said some parts got damaged in delivery so they had to reorder some so Monday the car will be done but if it gets done today on Friday he will let us know, how ?? This was my second time having to get my car repaired in the past 2 months and Joe made the experience such a breeze. Although, not exciting to be stuck in a rental for an extended period of time, Joe went out of his way to keep me updated on the progress of my vehicle and did his best to get it back to me in a timely manner with some minor hiccups due to insurance being non-responsive. After it was completed and returned to me, I started experiencing challenges in starting my car and Joe came with a mechanic to my work to test my car and help me to find out what was wrong. Ended up being a bad battery, so he took it upon himself to call AutoZone and ensure that I would be good to go upon arrival. Offered to return to my work to give me a jump when I planned on going to AutoZone and followed up with me after getting my battery replaced.
