First time visiting, found them through the SGV boba passport. Clean, small shop; quick, friendly service with a few indoor seats and several patio tables outside. They use high grade tea leaves and you can smell the leaves before choosing and they use specialized equipment to extract flavors from the leaves. I really enjoyed their jasmine milk green tea and the mango fruit tea. You can really taste the tea in both drinks, it did not taste watered down. The boba was equally delicious, I've never had mochi boba. It was sweet, soft and chewy and it went well with the drinks. I will definitely return to try more items on the menu.
Wasn't impressed at all. Ordered two gyokuro milk teas with honey boba (less ice and 50% sweet) and a mango slush with honey boba but heard the employees talking to one another about how there was only enough honey boba for two more drinks. I inquired about it and they said I'd have to pick a different topping so I went with the agar boba. Apparently they did not give us honey boba. I was staring at it up close since it looked so different so they asked if something was wrong. I thought maybe it was because it was the last of the previous batch that it looked so soft and mishapen. Since July 4th they've been switching to mochi honey boba instead because of popularity/increased demand. They said it was a real hit on July 4th weekend. The mochi boba had a lovely texture and flavor but definitely could have used more haha. They had to boil a whole new batch. Agar boba was fine but I was super disappointed that I didn't get boba because that's what I actually wanted. The shop was quiet with nobody else inside besides my cousin and kid and I. The gyokuro was pretty bitter (as if it was steeped too long. Maybe it was just matcha and bitter? But I thought gyokuro was just tea leaves?) and not sweet at all. I couldn't finish it because of how bitter it was. I kept it in the fridge and drank it next day and it mellowed out significantly. The mango slush was honey boba was pretty good. They recommended it with lychee jelly but my 5 year old was not interested haha. I think I'm spoiled after having torotea because it is such an amazing experience from start to finish and every flavor is absolutely delicious and perfect. Chapresso is overrated and fine when you don't wanna wait for torotea. You probably just need to order the right thing and for them to have boba when you want it. If I ever go back I'd try one of the iron goddess oolong or one of their matcha drinks.
Each order is made to brew! Really enjoyed their tea selection and I always get the phoenix MT and/or iron goddess MT. For a regular they charge roughly $6/7, which is standard pricing nowadays. Opt for the phoenix if you enjoy more of a honey note at the end. Parking is on the street but easy to get in and out even with ongoing traffic.
Cute little tea place on Huntington next to dumpling bar. You can customize the type of tea leaves you want and can add "toppings". Also can adjust level of sweetness. Friendly service.
I don't know if I went on a really off day, but I can't remember the last time I had a milk tea so off-putting it went straight in the trash. I was so excited for the gyokuro milk tea because gyokuro is probably my favorite tea, and I can't quite describe what the gyokuro here tasted like. I can say, however, it didn't taste anything like gyokuro. It was weirdly floral, not quite jasmine-like floral, and had a weird and honestly kind of gross flavor I guess is a way to put it. It completely lacked the fresh buttery greens quality of real gyokuro. The jasmine was okay. I gave up on the hojicha without even trying it after everyone else wound up not liking their teas either (they didn't dislike it as much as I did with the gyokuro, it just wasn't great). Reviews seem positive for this place so I dunno what was up with our drinks. While the tea flavor, at least for the jasmine, was strong, it was so strong it tasted almost artificial (compared to similar tea-forward places).
5/19/26 Okay, I'm not much of a tea drinker but I like matcha for all its health benefits & its earthiness, this place has my seal of approval:-) Just driving around San Marino looking for a coffee shop near 5 pm--not much luck. This place popped up & doesn't close til 8 pm- cool!! There just 2 seats indoors with a "bar" table and a bench to park your behind while waiting for your drink. There's no restroom. The outdoor patio is spacious but it shares it with 2 other businesses (Dumpling Bar & Mari Vees). Staff is trite, professional, competent but not overly friendly. He made my drink as requested-iced matcha latte with oat milk, less ice, 75% sweet level, one of the best so far, nothing fancy, just good, quality matcha. I'm likely to return if ever in the area, and that's me not big on tea lol \(*0*)/
wow this might be one of my new favorite boba spots! Came to try Chapresso and the tea quality really shines in all their drinks! I tried their matcha latte with 2% milk (they offer oat milk too) at 70% sweet and a gyokuro milk tea at 70% sweet with lychee jelly and both were very very good! The teas were fragrant and yummy and perfectly not too sweet! They have a few seats inside but it's very limited - they've been around for about 2 years and I hope they get a lot more love soon! Service is very fast and friendly
I had an adequate experience at Chapresso (San Marino). I ordered the Mango Matcha Latte ($8.50 - 16oz - 75% Sugar). It's earthy, gritty, and tastes like mango cereal milk. It reminds me of liquid mango candy. I arrived at Chapresso (San Marino) on Sunday (around 12:15PM). Parking is a little challenging. There's no lot, so I used street parking. It's a brief couple minute walk. Customers can order at a self-service kiosk or counter. Staff is polite. Staff kindly answered all my questions. My drink took one minute and 52 seconds. Fast! As mentioned, I ordered the Mango Matcha Latte ($8.50 - 16oz - 75% Sugar). It's not bad, and it's thirst quenching. The drink made me think of candy mango and something a little gritty. On ambiance, Chapresso (San Marino) is very tiny and cramped. There's one small counter and a bench. There's also three assigned tables at front. The floors looked like they needed a quick sweep, but the air felt clean. I also enjoyed the slow-paced music. The location is very dimly lit though, so it all felt a little melancholy. Fortunately there's a little bit of utility at Chapresso (San Marino). There's one available electrical outlet. And there's customer internet with password; customers must ask staff for the details. However; this small location doesn't have a restroom. Overall, Chapresso (San Marino) is not bad. I didn't hate my beverage, and staff is friendly. If already nearby, I can lightly recommend. 3.9 out of 5
I came to try this spot since a fellow acquaintance said it was yummy. Parking is ample for street parking. There's outdoor seating which is nice. You can order via kiosk or at the counter. Staff were friendly & open to questions. I went with the matcha Einspanner which was a 10/10. I was able to customize my drinks as well for sweetness/ice. I would come back to try other drinks since they have a vast selection.
I decided to try their ice matcha latte and matcha Einspanner. I tried getting the coffee version but it ended up being matcha which was fine since it was good either way. The offer 2% milk or oat milk. Definitely going to come back to try their teas. Now that i know where its located at. First time trying this place and parked a little far because it looked like there was alot of cars in the front. As we werw looking for it someone asked if we were going to chapresso. Howd he know. But we came on a lucky day. Turbo tax had a little event going on and they were giving free chapresso vouchers, fidget spinner, tote bags and ice packs.
The Matcha is made fresh, and the Matcha latte was pretty good for what it is. The service was fairly fast, just expect one person to be working in the front. So that person is either tending to the orders come or taking the orders. The vibe of the overall shop is chill, but you're really here to grab and go, so you're not really hanging out within the shop. It is located a cute spot in San Marino, you can opt to park in the front, or around sides.
street parking available depending when you go! the place is a bit smaller but they have outdoor seating. very cute and clean inside. they have a pretty solid menu with different options. the staff was very helpful in explaining the differences. i got the genmaicha einspanner and you can really taste the puffed rice in the drink. i liked it but my bf didn't. the strawberry matcha was good but the strawberry just tastes like jam. the oolong milk tea was really good! very fragrant and floral. i also got a mango green tea but it was a bit cloudy and bitter in my opinion. maybe it got cloudy from the mango they use but would highly recommend the oolongs they have and the matcha! can't wait to come back and try the hojicha
Chapresso is a tiny boba tea shop in San Marino. They have breadth selection of fruit teas and milk tea boba. And it is the only tea shop in this upper middle class city. I came to grab a hot Jasmine Pekoe Green tea which is a high-quality tea leaves , often younger leaves with fine hair (pekoe). Its flavor was smooth, mellow, slightly sweet, with fresh fruity undertones. Prices were fair. Staff and service were cordial and on spot, respectively. Indoor and outdoor seats were very limited. Overall, I liked my tea at Chapresso. I highly recommend them.
Great teas, but parking is always a bit hard. There are spaces right in front of the shop, but finding an open space and backing out from oncoming traffic is always hard. Gyokuro Green Tea 75% sweet, less ice, agar boba: The grassy flavor just tasted like a lightly bitter tea. ORDER phoenix oolong milk tea (5/5) the drinks here are so good!! the tea is super fragrant and it's never too sweet. keep in mind their 100% sweetness isn't as sweet as other places. i usually do 75% sweetness at other boba shops, but i don't adjust the sweetness here. SERVICE super kind, they always make sure you leave happy with the drink. AMBIANCE the shop is a little small so it can get cramped when it's crowded. read more
After looking at many videos and reviews from friends, I was excited to try this place out. There is street parking in front of the store with some parking in the back (a little further away from the drink place) I ordered via kiosk and saw that they did not charge for oat milk replacement. The wait time was quite long, I believe I waited around 20 minutes with only what seemed like five people in front of me. There was limited seating inside, but there were a couple of tables and chairs directly outside. I got the oolong which was very tasty. The tea flavor was strong and very smooth. The mango slush tastes like all mango slushes I've had, but still was a very good option. read more
A boba shop open at 10AM?!?! Who would have thought? Chapresso will be my go-to for a quick pick me up before work! As a boba-connoisseur, I had to try this place for their strong teas and excellent service. I got their Gyokuro with 25% sweet and it was bold and sharp. My friend got their Phoenix and Iron Goddess Milk Teas, pure delicious! I especially love how they allow us to smell their various tea leaves, which helped me decide. My wife and I tried the phoenix oolong tea and the matcha latte. The phoenix tea was more my style. It wasn't too sweet and the flavor of the tea was very nice and pleasant. The matcha latte was sweeter than the tea, but it was still very good. I'm no matcha connoisseur but I'd give it a solid 8/10. Glad I found this place and I'd definitely come back if I'm ever in the area. read more
Rating: 9.4/10 My current favorite boba/drink place in the 626! Cute interior, amazing solid drinks, and not overly crowded! I've been coming to Chapresso regularly since a friend recommended it to me a few months ago. My go-to drink: 1) Matcha Latte 75% sweetness: Rich and strong matcha flavor that is just perfectly sweet. I've tried it with boba twice and feel like the honey in the boba overpowers the matcha. I love it as is with 75% sweetness! So so good, hand-whisked, and one of my favorite matcha places (and I just came back from Japan, this drink is on par with matcha in Japan)! I've had the hojicha latte, which is also delicious, and I want to try more of their drinks! I just can't stop myself from choosing matcha every time. Such a hidden gem, and I highly recommend everyone come and try Chapresso! read more
First time visiting and I am absolutely in love! The worker in front was super knowledgeable and nice! I love how fresh all the drinks are made and they are not overly sweet! Tip: Go during happy hour (5-7pm) for a free topping! We got the phoenix oolong milk tea and jasmine milk tea. I liked the jasmine milk tea more, but I'm also not the biggest fan of oolong. The tea flavor is strong. We went just before 7pm, so got free honey boba in our drinks. I got 50% sweetness, but honestly the drinks here aren't that sweet to begin with so I'd go with 75% next time. read more
This tea house is hidden on a busy street on Huntington but, there's plenty of parking! Found this on Tiktok, there's outdoor seating and 2 chairs inside. There's a self service kiosk and a barista assisting orders. My cousin and I ordered the Ice Matcha Latte (100% sweetness). We definitely could've gotten less sweet as it was pretty sweet. The color ratio was amazing! Would come again and get 75% sweetness. read more

One of the best high-quality boba shops around in the 626! I love my teas extra strong, and Chapresso did not disappoint! You can smell the tea right when you enter the shop, and they have the tea leaves at the register where you can smell the different aromas. Both the Iron Goddess Oolong Milk Tea and Mango Green Tea were delicious and the flavors of the tea really come through. I opted for 100% sweet and it was the perfect level for me. The boba was soft and chewy, although could have been a tad bit sweeter. The shop is pretty small without any tables to sit at, but there are a few available outside. There are plenty of parking spots on the street. Service was quick for freshly brewed, made-to-order teas. It was nice to be able to order at the kiosk and take a look at all the pictures of their menu. Will definitely be back again for my boba fix! read more

Chapresso is a modern boba shop specializing in fresh tea and other tea and fruit drinks. This little shop is located in San Marino on the busy Huntington Drive Street. I usually go to this shop whenever I'm around the San Marino area and don't really feel like paying high prices for milk tea. Today, I ordered a Jasmine Milk Tea with 25% sugar. Drink Quality: Very distinct Jasmine flavor, with the tea more pronounced than Chicha since it's not masqueraded with the cream/milk. A- Price: Expensive. Approximately 6.00 plus tax for the drink. Reasonable price, considering that they make the tea to order. Also in a higher-end community. A- Ambiance/Service: Standard service, nothing that stands out. This wasn't the first time I stopped by this shop so I didn't need to ask for recommendations. I did notice that the male worker (maybe the owner?) did offer another customer another free drink when the customer was not happy with her drink choice. A-/B+ Overall Rating: A-. A nice and small independent tea shop offering similar quality milk tea when compared with the high-end Asian chains. I really appreciate the made-to-order model and I will spend more to see my tea freshly brewed from loose leaves instead of being poured out of a jug. Would I come back: Yes. read more
Came here again within the same week to get the Matcha Latte without the strawberry this time and it was so much better. Again, this is not the creamiest matcha latte but the matcha taste itself is very earthy and yummy. How matcha should taste. Hopefully they can expand their matcha menu to include a cream top drink or something now that their matcha has been all over tiktok. We also got the Barley Black Milk Tea which was good as well. The service was still very lackluster, every time I come inside theres never a greeting or acknowledgment and everyone working looks so tired and barely speaks to you. read more
This place has one of the best teas I've had in a while! There's definitely a lot of competition in 626, but this is the first boba shop I have noticed in San Marino, everything is freshly brewed and their matcha is ceremonial. You can tell everything is good quality. If you have ever tried Orobae in Irvine that closed down, I would personally say this is the closest to that with their Phoenix Milk Tea. I only tried the Iron Goddess and Matcha Latte here at Chapresso and both were amazing. I will be back to try their other teas! read more
The iced matcha latte hit the spot. Definitely appreciated the service because I must have looked confused. He was explain to explain their least to most caffeinated tea, but still went with matcha. Thankful for outside seating, but beware of school getting out. It got a bit loud, but nothing headphones couldn't fix. read more
The shop has a cute, cozy vibe, and it's a great place to stop by if you want a pick me up drink. I got the jasmine pekoe milk tea with boba. The jasmine flavor was really nice and not too overpowering, and the boba was soft and chewy, which made the drink even better. It was super refreshing and definitely something I would order again. The place itself feels relaxing and clean but there isn't much seating. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place if you like boba or milk tea. A MUST !!! Coming from a matcha lover, this is honestly the best matcha. I don't go to the 626 often, but when I do, I always have to stop here. The intensity and quality of matcha is amazing, sweetness is adjustable (I'd recommend 75%), and color is bright and beautiful. There's never a ton of ppl when I go, so I'd only wait a few minutes. I ordered the matcha latte with oat milk and 25% sweetness, and I was quite impressed. Usually, cafes will hide the taste of subpar matcha with excess sweetener and milk, but here I could very clearly taste the matcha. It's not the strongest, highest quality, most umami matcha I've ever had, but it's a far cry from the watery matcha-milk-tea type stuff you get outside of certain cafes in Ktown. Overall, it was above average, thinner than I prefer (I like creamy and thick matcha, but it's a hard ask with oat milk) but very very good considering it could stand on its own, without 5 different syrups and heavy cream dressing it up. Came with my friend on a Sunday at around 2:30-3:00 pm. It's a small location, and there were constantly people waiting for their drinks or coming in to order, but service was quick and efficient. There's a kiosk and you can order at the front. My friend ordered a hot matcha latte (which most places don't do) but the wait wasn't too long. I would recommend this place if you're in East Pasadena; it's walking distance from torotea. read more
Cool little spot in San Marino on Huntington Boulevard. Great drinks, tried the Mango and Strawberry Matchas. Both were tasty, great matcha taste with a hint of the fruit, tried the 100% sweetness and it was perfect. Not overly sweet, will try the Hojichan next time or their great variety of other teas. Upon entering, the tea aroma hits you instantly. They have these espresso-like machines which you can watch them pull the tea from. This was pretty cool to watch. I got the Phoenix oolong tea and it was pretty good. I like that the "less ice" option really is actually less ice. They have some indoor and outdoor seating. There's some street parking that is easier than the traditional parallel parking. read more
My friend LOVES this place!! It's a hidden gem and their teas are really strong and fresh, made to order! Workers are very very kind and understanding if there's an issue. Their tea and matcha are very underrated and deserves more hype! They make their tea drinks like how people make espressos (similar to chicha sanchen) but I'd say chapresso does it better! read more

Small store with a few chairs to sit by the window. They have a kiosk to order without interacting with them. The drinks is good as expected. They brew fresh tea and you can taste the strong tea in your boba drinks. I love the milk tea flavors. I pretty much tried all of the milk teas. I love the phoenix oolong tea, iron goddess, and gyukuro milk tea. The drinks do remind me of orobae in Irvine. My only complaint today is that my drink wasn't served cold. Although I chose less ice, my drink was still warm. I wish they can shake it with ice to chill it before serving it. Great location and easy parking. Please come to Orange County. I tried their most popular Iron Goddess Oolong tea, but was a bit disappointed--it tasted watered down and lacked the rich tea flavor I was expecting. My first time here and loved it. Chapresso uses the teaspresso machines to make their teas. I got the Iron goddness oolong milk tea, barley milk tea, and matcha americano (75% sweet, regular ice). My favorite was the Iron goddness and barley milk teas. The matcha americano doesn't have any coffee and you only can taste the matcha. There are plenty of seatings outside. Service was friendly. Overall, I enjoyed the teas here and would definitely come back to try their other drinks. read more

such amazing teas with rich tea flavor! located on huntington dr, there is parking right outside. the drinks are amazing and fairly priced. the milk teas arent too milky which i prefer. the offer a self service ordering kiosk and have baristas taking orders at the register. there are a few seats inside facing out but youll find more of the seating to be outside. loved the tea we got! i recommend the iron goddess or phoenix. read more

(+) Hojicha Latte (+) Iron Goddess Chapresso is a bubble tea shop that specializes in hand brewed, and made to order teas. They do not serve coffee; trust me, I was asking myself that question too. Instead, every drink is hand crafted and there are toppings to choose from such as honey boba, mango jelly, lychee jelly etc. They use 100% sugar cane as their sweetener. Drinks can be ordered hot but only in the 16 oz size. Drinks: In my two visits, I ordered the hojicha latte and iron goddess, which is an oolong milk tea. What I enjoyed about the hojicha latte was the quality of the tea and it was the perfect sweetness at 50%. I ordered it with honey boba. I liked the boba because it was soft and chewy. I also thought the iron goddess drink was also a great choice if you are looking for something strong and toasty. Ambiance: Very clean inside and the staff is kind and welcoming. There are tables outside to enjoy your drinks and catch up with friends for example. Overall, I recommend Chapresso for your tea needs and desires. The quality of tea and taste separate them from most the competition. Do yourself a favor and try them out if you have not already. read more
It wasn't too difficult to find parking. There was no line when I came here. Some seating inside the store. There is a self-checkout kiosk, so I took my time looking through the menu. I got the Barley Black Milk Tea and Strawberry Matcha Latte. The teas were very good, but I do prefer the Strawberry Matcha Latte. read more
I got a small iced matcha latte with oat milk and really enjoyed it! I would say i'm very immersed in the matcha world and this was legit. The flavor profile was on the more umami side but I did get 50% sweetness so that might be the reason. I'm unsure what sweetener they used but I liked it. The matcha and milk ratio was perfect. Almost $ 8 for a small drink is crazy but for the quality, it might be worth it! read more

Finally found my favorite matcha latte spot that is nearby where I live! I'm a huge matcha fan so I am very picky when it comes to quality matcha. I love how their matcha is super high quality and not too sweet or bitter ANDDD they hand whisk the matcha right in front of you when making the drink! It's pretty small inside but there are a few tables and chairs outside. Also, apparently, a large for matcha latte is equivalent to a regular size for the other drinks.. it's a little pricey (around $7-8) but so worth it! Parking isn't too bad but it can be hard to get out since it's facing Huntington Drive so there are always lots of cars. read more
This was my second time coming here and it has always been great! I came during their one year anniversary where they had a bogo deal. It was saturday around 1pm and the wait wasn't super long, about 15 minutes. I was able to smell the different samples of tea before I ordered, and I decided on the iron goddess oolong milk tea. The tea tasted super fresh and I liked how milky the drink was. I regret not going for large since the regular size was pretty small. Nonetheless, this place has really good teas! read more
FINALLY had a chance to try Chapresso after hearing my friend highly recommend this place and seeing it on IG as well. They were openly decently late on a Friday evening and since we were going through the area, we had to swoop in! The parking in front is kinda dicey though, I gotta admit since it's a super busy road you have to back out of later, but that's more of the location than anything. You can order from their kiosk or from the worker and they brew all of their teas when you order, so you know everything is fresh, similar to how Chicha San Chen does it. There's also a point system for future discounts here too once you've accumulated enough. I got the Phoenix Oolong milk tea and it's exactly as the drink description describes. It's a slightly floral and honey taste with an orchid aroma. With less ice and 75% sweet this was the perfect level for me. The milk tea was nice and smooth and the tea taste is there too without being overpowering. Really enjoyed my drink and would love to come back and try more of their menu, maybe even grab some of the baked pastries that they have there too. read more

Hello, we use fruit puree, not concentrated and no artificial additives.
Do your drinks have caffeine?
Hello, all our teas except for our hibiscus teas have caffeine. However, teas usually have about 30% of caffeine or less compared to coffee. The only tea we currently have that has equivalent caffeine to one shot of espresso is our matcha!
What kind of milk is in the milk tea?
At the moment, we strictly use non-dairy creamer. However, we are looking into adding additional milk and milk alternative options in the near future!
Will you be adding other toppings like grass jelly? I didn't see that many choices
Hi, we are always testing new drinks and toppings! We do think in the future we might be adding more topping options, but as of right now we only have 4 options: honey boba, agar boba, lychee jelly, and mango jelly. Sorry about that.

Hello, in addition to the street parking along Huntington Drive, we also have a parking lot next to our block (adjacent to Verizon) with about 20 spaces that is usually empty!
