I stopped in for lunch during the work week and enjoyed my meal, but was surprised with the cost. I ordered the #1 combo, which included a Char-Burger (added cheese) and plenty of extras that they offered & Frings (mixed fries & onion rings) w/ a fountain drink. The onion rings were great, but I would not recommend the fries. The burger was cooked to a perfect medium rare and was enjoyed, but I was surprised that American cheese was their only type offered. Overall a good meal at a classic local establishment--but I likely won't be back for some time, given the pricing @ $20 for the combo w/ cheese.

Food tasted good, but unfortunately we got sick afterward and are certain it was food poisoning. Sharing this so others are aware and in hopes the restaurant double-checks their food safety practices.

I haven't been to char hut in a while but wanted to have a burger so stopped through the drive thru. Everything was great! We had a char burger which you tell them your temperature for the meat and they cook it to order. We also had the frings which is a great way to have both fries and onion rings. The onion rings are my favorite so sweet and crispy!

This is hands down my favorite burger spot in South Florida! I've been coming to Char-Hut for over 20 years, and they never let me down. My only complaint is the higher prices...$27 for a burger combo feels a bit much.

Char Hut is a staple of south Florida if you want a super solid, char grilled, quality burger and quick. You walk in and with a quick scan of the menu, you walk up to the register and order. The gentlemen there today (Rui) was super polite and helpful with questions. Even made a suggestion that saved me some money! :) thanks Rui! Grab a booth or a table in the restaurant that has somewhat of an old school vibe and wait for them to call your number. We ordered 3 burgers, chicken tenders, mac n cheese, black beans and rice, fries, sweet potato fries and FRINGS (fries and onion rings in the same basket) They slap the burgers right on the grill in front of you and they cook the burgers fresh to order. (Got mine medium while my wife wanted it well) they time them out perfectly and they are sent down the line if you want toppings. I got lettuce, onion, pickles ketchup and mustard. All the toppings were fresh and crunchy! These burgers never miss on char flavor and with your choice of roll, it's always delicious! The tenders of which i thought were going to be standard frozen tenders, came out feeling fresh. Nice, clean, white meat with a thin breading. Nice and crunchy while staying moist. My youngest cleared the mac and cheese in about 3 mins. It was creamy, cheesy and delicious. Looked great! Rice and beans, shockingly flavorful. No disrespect to Char Hut, but with all the Latin restaurants in south Florida, i don't expect a burger joint to have seasoned rice and beans, but char huts were great! Lastly, the fries/onion rings . Perfectly cooked, crunchy, fresh and great portions. Onion rings/straws are absolutely amazing. Thin, crunchy, plenty of onion, THE BEST! Chat Hut just doesn't miss. We have been a bunch before and will be a bunch more!

This was my first time trying a Char-Hut. The inside is very old school diner/how McDonald's used to feel. You can tell the people who work there have been there a while. They were all kind. Okay so food. I got the Big Bite burger with cheese and bacon. They ask what temperature you want the burger and it was SO good. Like awesome. This review is only 4 stars because it's a bit pricey for the atmosphere but seriously good burgers. Also yummy onion rings! They were better than the fries.

Char-Hut is a small chain of fast service restaurants owned by the Cammisa family who founded Char Hut in 1976. The family started the business over 40 years ago when they opened their first restaurant in Miami after moving to Florida from Buffalo. The family closed the Miami restaurant in favor of moving to southwest Broward. They specialize in hamburgers and chicken. Unlike other fast food places you can tell them how well you want your burger meat cooked and you can customize it with different toppings. The food is cooked to order. This place is an institution and you can't hang around this long in the South Florida restaurant scene unless you offer quality food. I have eaten at Char-Hut many times through the years and if you go inside you come out smelling like the grill. It is a breeze to order from the drive though and that is what I usually do. This was my first time visiting the Davie location which opened way back in 2003. You can find the restaurant along the side of State Rd. 84. I ordered the Char-Burger with cheese, which is the original 1/3 lb steak burger and I added a side of fries and a soda. The service was super friendly here and the food was great which I always expect from Char-Hut. It definitely satisfied my cheeseburger craving. I love that this is the kind of place where you don't have to beg for ketchup. They cheerfully offer it without you even having to ask. Count me among the Char-Hut fans.

The food was horrible. It was stale. The buns were dry. I will never go back. The whole place is run down. Service was slow. The only thing nice about this place was the outdoor patio with old rusty chairs.

I passed this restaurant at least 100 times and finally decided to stop and try. This place is right on SR84. Walking in restaurant is like a time capsule. Original Decore tables /chairs. I ordered a regular cheese burger with fries. I was surprised the burger was cooked right in front of me. Followed by toppings setup like subway. This burger was very fresh along with toppings. What really makes this burger unique is the Kaiser roll. On the downside the fries was cold and was no where close to be paired with the awesomeness of this burger. Customer Service was very bland. This is more of a drive thru take away type of place. Definitely will be back to try their hot dogs and milkshakes. No

Best Burger Spot in Broward County -- PERIOD!…read more I've been coming to North South Grill in Pembroke Pines since 2021, and I'm honestly surprised I haven't written a review sooner. Guys, hands down, this is the BEST burger spot in Broward County -- PERIOD! This is a husband-and-wife-owned restaurant, and you can tell they put their heart and soul into this place. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and made with care, and the service always makes you feel welcome. Both visits were for birthdays---the first was mine, when I happened to mention to our server that we were celebrating my birthday and she helped make the experience great. She then exclaimed, "You should have told me it was your birthday! We'll give you a dessert. Would you like to take it home?" Which I did, and the Seven Layer Chocolate Cake was thoroughly enjoyed for breakfast on two different days. I still can't get over the fudge layers in the sponge sandwiched by a light, creamy chocolate mousse. The plated cake was much cuter and better dressed with surrounding raspberry sauce instead of it being in a takeout cup, but the divine tastes of that cake are unchanged. Seeing that the majority of their locations are in the north, with the southernmost locations before Florida being Virginia and South Carolina, I feel lucky that we have a location in South Florida (and a second in Boca Raton). The hostesses are friendly, as well as the servers, and each one asks about allergies in the party. I saw on their website that they have a commitment to accommodating food allergies and a protocol for communicating allergies to the staff and kitchen. The most recent visit started with us repeating allergies to our server after telling our hostess, as he wasn't informed of them. It never hurts to confirm that everyone is on the same page but it was a little odd. I'm not sure what those purple allergy cards are supposed to do if they're not written on. However, like I mentioned, they are really serious about food allergies. When we were placing orders, our server would tell us whether there were allergens in the dishes we mentioned. Our server during my first visit even went back to the kitchen to check whether there were eggs in a sauce that were in one of the dishes we were interested in, without being asked. The inside is clean, beautiful and well lit, and the bar is spacious with plenty of screens if you're able to make it in for their happy hour at the bar from 3-6 PM on Mondays-Fridays. We had the guacamole and chips ($9), which had a surprisingly generous portion of genuine guacamole to the point where we ate all of the white and blue tortilla chips that came with it. I asked our bartender if we could get more chips by any chance, and another bartender heard and went straight to the kitchen and came out with a bowl of warmed tortilla chips. I had an Old Fashioned, which was slightly sweeter than I'm used to, but still having great citrus aromas. I recommend having a cocktail on happy hour as they are typically $15-17 on the regular menu while they are $10 during happy hour. For dinner during my second visit, we were seated in a lounge appearing area to the left of the entrance with long couches for the booth seats and an unfinished cut of wood table. Let me tell you about the food before I run out of space! Bread service: I know it's weird to have to pay for bread, but that's the restaurant world we live in. It's worth the $5 to get warm, fluffy bread dressed with everything seasoning and coming with herbed butter, pesto and an olive tapenade, all a choose-your-own-bread-adventure sampler. You can tell nothing on the plate came out of a jar. Philly cheesesteak rolls: Everyone can eat all 3 of the rolls that come in this dish along with the crispy onion rings that come on top of them. Resist the urge and share the tender beef and gooey cheese inside of these rolls. NY strip: Tender, well grilled and seasoned, accompanied by tasty green beans and mashed potatoes made with just the right amount of butter where you taste more potato than butter or cream. Crab crusted haddock: A generous portion of flaky, slightly buttery haddock with an aromatic crab cake on top. We loved the jasmine rice that came with it, from the degree of cooked to a little oil covering. Lobster roll: It was a summer limited item until August 31, and I'm sorry to say it was perfectly buttered, toasted and brimming with plump lobster meat. You were able to get it cold with a cole slaw, but a hot roll is definitely the move. Did I convince you to go try their food? If not, read this again. I'll see you there.
