Ordered dinner to go after a long day and craving a burger. We've been eating Char Hut for years and have always enjoyed their food. I got a junior burger cooked to perfection with the cowboy topper. So yummy! My husband and I also shared an order of frings. Good but both the fries and onion rings were a little greasy. We also got an order of the chicken tenders and they weren't very good. Heard a lot of hype about this place awhile back so I thought I'd give it a go. Right off the bat it kinda reminded me of like a 5 guys because they cook the patties in front of you and you can get unlimited toppings. The thing that distinguishes a place like this from your average burger place is that there is a drive thru! They also have a lot more patty options and bun options. I went with the poppy seed looking bun because I thought it was different and interesting. But it's just a regular white bread to me with the bonuses of seeds getting stuck in your teeth lol. Short staffed so person who answers the phone is an A HOLE Phone. Food is good. ( them being short staffed is not my problem) and the rudeness is uncalled for. I'm not going to deal very unprofessionalism and employees being unpleasant. They will not allow you to call your orders anymore for your own pick up. DoorDash is a lot more expensive however, they shut the DoorDash down so you cannot prefer through DoorDash either. Wish they'd get it together. The contractor working in my condo mentioned Char-Hut has some of the best burgers he's tried so I made a mental note to check out the place. A few days later I was taking my cousin out for diner I suggested Char-Hut and she agreed to give it a try as she also lives nearby. Char-Hut is in strip mall parking lot off I-84. We went in and placed our orders. I ordered the Cowboy burger topped with cheese, bacon and onion rings. My cousin had a Char salad with chicken. I also ordered the french fries and onion rings combo after reading on Yelp that the rings and fries were some of the best, THEY ARE! My burger was also very good, properly cooked and juicy. Char-Hut is a family owned, fresh, made-to-order fast food burger place but with many other options too. Solid, no frills, grilled burger spot. They have a few locations but my husband and I find this one to be the best of them all. This location is bright, clean and staff is always friendly. There is a small private parking lot and a drive-thru. There's plenty of indoor and covered outdoor seating. My favorite items: the cowboy burger (topped with cheese, bacon & onion rings) & the fringe (half order of fries with half order of onion rings). Yum! read more

I made a recent return to Char-Hut after not having been in roughly ten years and I gotta say, I was disappointed. For two burgers, drinks, a large fry and large onion ring, I paid about $40. The burgers are sizable but by no means worth the price. Yes, they are high-quality burgers but I might as well go to a sit-down restaurant for a price like that. The fries were very average to me. My onion rings were completely overcooked to the point of being burnt. I am not one to complain but I felt like I had to because I did not pay ~$7 for burnt onions. Fortunately, the staff understood and remade my onion rings gorgeously. It was clean inside and it's nice to watch your burger get made right in front of you. However, due to the price I really can't recommend Char-Hut anymore. Fantastic burgers but too pricy for my taste. I prefer Culver's instead. read more

Let me first start of by saying that CHAR HUT was the very first place that I ever worked at. Although, the CHAR HUT I worked at was located on 441 and does not exist anymore. As far as this chart goes, I have to say that the Customer Service is absolutely AMAZING!! Obviously, the food isn't bad either. So which is it that keeps bringing me back? Wow, I must say it is an absolute 75/25% mix 75% the great customer service. 25% of it is knowing that I will receive the same if not something close to what represents the food I ordered last time. I am pretty routine in my order, you would think that they have it down by now. It is unfortunate for me to have to report that in receiving my order this evening my fries were barely cooked and even somewhat cold inside. My chicken sandwich was well somewhat tasty, again, when getting to the middle of the sandwich, it also did not taste fully cooked! As we are all aware, undercooked chicken can pose a serious health concern! So my recommendation is to PROCEED WITH CAUTION! Also enjoy! read more

If you're craving a decent burger this is a great place to stop by! This was a place that I would make sure to order from every now and then, mostly because it was close by, cheap and delicious!   This particular location happens to be a drive thru which I thought was pretty cool. I have yet to try ordering from here via their drive thru but I will one day! The employees here are quick and super nice especially when there's a long line during lunchtime.  When ordering your meal there's a grill right there as they cook it right in front of you. That's also when to make note of specifically what you want on your sandwich or burger such as tomatoes, lettuce etc. I have always enjoyed that and appreciate that they do that in order to showcase how good they are in their cooking skills. Paying is simple and is done while they cook the food, once done your name will be called and they hand you everything right then and there.   When I'm trying to be more cautious of what I'm eating I go for the grilled chicken sandwich. Not only is it filling and a slightly healthy option for me but it is extremely flavorful! The fries here are great and never soggy or too crispy. There's also a veggie burger as well. The food was not worth it at all. The french fries were frozen, unsalted, and not made from scratch. The chicken tenders were overcooked, and the burger lacked any flavor. For $39, I expected good quality french fries, a tasty burger, and meaty chicken tenders. The food was terrible. I would have been better off going to McDonald's for their fries, Burger King for a Whopper, and PDQ for chicken tenders. An oldie but a goodie, Char Hut has always been a favorite of mine. This is one of the original locations and I have never ordered something I didn't like. Back in the day when I lived in Plantation, Char Hut was my favorite weekly treat. They still have the drive thru and the food is still as good as it ever was. Because everything is cooked to order, be prepared to wait a few minutes for your food, it's so worth the wait. This isn't traditional fast food, not in my eyes anyway. Everything is fresh and they cook it right in front of you. They even have a selection of buns/rolls for your burgers. Seeds, no seeds, they really covered all their bases. So many options are available, so there is something for everyone, even the kids. You can get a simple grilled chicken breast or a humungous burger with all of the fixings, including their famous hot sauce. About that hot sauce, it really isn't hot, it's more like a spread so ask for a little cup on the side. Taste it and you just might be surprised at how unique and delicious it is. Trust me, I wouldn't mislead you. Salads, burgers, hot dogs, chili, grilled mahi, grilled tuna, Italian sausage, rice and beans, grilled cheese, wings and even a veggie burger, whatever diet you are following or not, you will find something yummy. My favorite meal is the Big Dog with mustard and sauerkraut. I order it well done and because they cook the food in front of you, I am able to let the cook know when my hot dog is perfectly cooked! The onion rings are not traditional rings, but more like what you would find in an onion loaf at one of the rib places; although they are not in a loaf, they are very similar in taste. I dip them in ketchup, but they are delicious on their own. I just like to dip. When you walk in you place your order with the cashier, pay and then go through the assembly line. I love having total control on how my food is prepared. Extra pickles, no problem, want your burger cooked a few extra minutes, no problem. Hot sauce on the side; also not a problem. The staff is young but unlike other places they go the extra mile to make sure your food is exactly how you want it. They always did have a nice group of kids working and they still do. Yes, the dining room is a blast from the past, and yes they could use some modernization, and yes they could do a lot of things, but that's all part of the charm at eating at Char Hut. We ordered from the drive thru a chicken sandwich and a burger. The lady asked if we wanted bacon and cheese on our $12 burger. My honey is lactose intolerant so responded with yes to bacon NO to cheese. Picked up our food at the next window and they forgot the sauces we asked for. This is probably one of my favorite places to go. We normally eat at the Pembroke Pines location but we in the area. The people here were some of the friendliest and most helpful I've ever met, it didn't seem to matter we were there just before they were ready to close. As far as the food, it's always good. I had a double char chicken with cheese on whole wheat bread, topped with everything I liked, I got served with sweet bananas. And it was dam good. My wife had the black bean and a sweet potato. I consider Char Hut pretty much the ultimate in fast food. Burgers, chicken, hot dogs, steak sandwiches and even sushi grade tuna are among the great menu items. All the food preparation is done right in front of you while in line after your order. They always get it right, too. My medium rare has ALWAYS been medium rare. I don't know what it is at Char Hut but everything is always pretty perfect. Staff is friendly, dining area is always clean and the food is always great. They must do a great job hiring and training because it certainly shows. Pricing is pretty commensurate with the quality you get. My only regret is I don't live in Florida so I only get to enjoy Char Hut occasionally and that's not enough! read more

As a fist timer, I appreciate that everything is laid our before you get to order. You can see the type of buns they have and the menus are available before you make the line. I ordered a regular char-burger, with bacon. It is a nice size burger coming out from all sides of the bun. Nicely cooked and juicy. The fries were Blah!. I would of liked them to have more salt or seasoning. I like that they had a different option than just sodas, I had the flavored water for a drink.
