Most people dread the dentist. I did before I met Dr. Tozzer. I had awful experiences with several other dentists and was petrified to sit in a dental chair. I had neglected my mouth and had a bunch of work that needed to be done. I met with Dr. T, he did the exam and then walked me through everything. He uses conscious sedation and was able to complete the work with 1 visit. That was over 10 years ago. I take my family to Dr. Tozzer. All my friends and neighbors go to Dr. Tozzer. Yes he is that good. Dr Tozzer and his staff (including his Mom) are kind and patient (most of the staff has been there forever so it is like family). Dr. Tozzer has that old fashioned way of caring. A few examples: He apologizes before he gives shots and is sensitive to any discomfort. He does everything he can to minimize you being uncomfortable. He personally calls every client the next day to make sure everything is okey -dokey. You just don't get that kind of caring, especially in the medical and dental field. Dr. Tozzer and their awesome staff have been taking care of my smile for 18 years now. I'm an actor and especially with commercials... my smile is a big big deal. 18 years ago my front teeth were grey, dead, discolored from a football collision that moved my teeth and killed the nerves. I have been a loyal Dr. Tozzer client for around 12 years now and I am always proud to recommend his services to anyone looking for a dentist. Dr. Tozzer and his staff put forth a successful blend of professionalism, levity and familiarity every time I visit the office. One of my memories being a patient of Dr. Tozzer's is when another dentist told me to get a root canal (my mother set up a surprise dental appointment for me on the East Coast during vacation). Oddly enough, I had experienced no pain or anything that would suggest I needed the operation. When I spoke to Dr. Tozzer, he explained how I didn't need one at that point and that it was his job to ensure I don't need any root canals in the future. If you're looking for a new dentist or new to the area your search is over! Dr. Tozzer and his staff are personable, caring, and genuine. The care my family has received over the years has been fantastic. I don't know many who like going to the dentist. Actually, I don't know any who really like going to the dentist. But I can say my kids enjoy the trip and the friendly staff make us feel like family. Even when there may be bad news of a more intrusive treatment than the regular cleaning; it's not a dreaded act. On one of my first visits I needed an old crown replaced. The prep and shots were pain-free and the whole thing took about 45-minutes (from shots to walking out). Dr. Tozzer's humanitarian work has been recognised and written about in several publications. In case you didn't know, he's a dentist with a huge, caring heart and passion for helping. Regular trips to Mexico and Haiti to provide dental care to children and families living in the regions is but a part of his efforts. I've been going to Dr. Tozzer since I was three years old, 20 years total! He is the absolute best dentist you could ever go to. He is very nice and talks you through your progress. He is very personable and funny too! The staff is very nice and makes you feel comfortable. Literally the best Dentist ever. I repeatedly had dentist appointments the day after international flights and always made sure I made them even if I could have gone somewhere else for a general cleaning. Do not trust your teeth to Dr. Tozzer! You will regret it. Saw Dr. Tozzer for several years. He placed crowns on 4 of my teeth. None were needed - he simply wanted to replace my old-fashioned silver fillings, which were perfectly fine. I trusted his advise and everything he did now has to be redone. I have to have one of my teeth pulled because he didn't do a root canal properly, which got infected, was re-done by a root canal specialist and then operated on by an endodontist (a type of oral surgeon), and now has to come out due to a fracture in the root. All the work Dr. Tozzer did now has to be re-done. None of the crowns is placed correctly. I've been dealing with a number of issues from gum disease because of a poorly placed crown to needing an implant because of an infected and fractured root canal. Dr. Tozzer creates his own income by recommending unnecessary procedures, which he cannot perform. He should recognize his weaknesses and stop ruining people's teeth and bank accounts. Correcting his mistakes is not cheap! read more

Dr. Tozzer has been my dentist for over 25 years. Besides being extremely proficient, he's counseled me not to have unnecessary work done. I know for a fact that Dr. Tozzer uses the latest equipment and sterilizes everything! Dr. Tozzer is a wonderful dentist! I have been his patient for many years and have always received great treatment from him and his very professional and friendly staff. Dr. Tozzer is also a genuinely kind and caring individual and he's conservative in his approach. He doesn't recommend treatment unless or until he really feels it is necessary. He's been "watching" a descending upper wisdom tooth for me for the last several years and says that eventually, it will have to come out because my corresponding lower wisdom tooth was extracted many years ago and the upper wisdom tooth will eventually start to dig into the gum below. Dr. Tozzer is an amazing dentist and his staff is first rate in my book. Everyone is courteous and friendly not to mention the wonderful coffee in the waiting area and fresh baked cookies! I have had major work done by Dr. Tozzer as well as being a regular patient of his for the last ten years. Dr. Tozzer and his staff are exceptional. I have had a lifetime of bad experiences with dentistry, and they made what, otherwise, would have been a terrible experience warm and pleasant. Each step in the cleaning was explained and they were very careful to avoid any discomfort. My experience far exceeded any expectation I could have set. Additionally, I had my wisdom teeth out 5 years ago and have had to suffer the near constant pain and inconvenience of TMJ since. After 5 years of dentists telling me nothing could be done Dr. Tozzer explained the root of the problem and suggested I try a splint (mouth guard) at night to give the joint time to heal (think of it like walking on a sprained ankle and never giving it a chance to heal). Within a week I was back to take the impression and four days later I had my splint, which they fine tuned to perfection. After years of suffering I now have the hope that within a few months I'll be on the mend. Without any hesitation, the best experience I've had with dental work. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Tozzer and his fantastic staff to anyone that would listen. Lastly: Be sure to take a cookie, they are baked fresh, and are great. read more

I have struggled with my teeth my whole life and hate going to the dentist. I damaged my front teeth as a kid and never had them fixed properly partly because of my fear of dentists. I randomly met Dr. Tozzer while I was out with my family at Disneyland he said that I should not be afraid and that he could fix my teeth so that they would not only last but look much better. He was so kind and genuine he gave us his card and made us promise to call. I was hesitant but my husband made me call. When I did the receptionist was expecting my call and was so reassuring. When I got there he made me feel so calm and explained everything that they were going to do so that I had no apprehension. He is so good that when he numbed me I didn't even feel the needle. They also offer to put you to sleep if you are too nervous, which I thought for sure I would have to do, but they were so awesome that I was fine. The entire staff was amazing and knew their stuff. In three appointments I had a perfect smile with new beautiful front teeth that actually matched my others perfectly. No one can tell that me front teeth aren't real anymore. I actually cried when I saw them in the office for the first time. I live in Whittier and have switched my kids and husband over to his office. It is totally worth the drive, to know your mouth is in the hands of someone you trust. Oh and a quick side note they bake giant hot fresh cookies everyday and they give them to you as you leave.
