My sister and I were in town visiting family and stopped at Charlestons right after we got checked into our hotel. The ambience of this restaurant is so amazing. It has a warm, cozy, elevated feel but is still casual so no dress code has to be adhered to. Tanner was our server and he was amazing! He recommended food off of the menu and even cocktails for us to try. I got the tamarind margarita and the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and fresh steamed veggies. The food was delicioso! The food, service and ambiance were great! Our waitress, Leigha, who was also our bar tender, was awesome! Our flight from Oklahoma was canceled and we were forced to stay another night in Oklahoma. We booked a hotel room close to Charleston's! The experience was great! We had the Dynamite Shrimp for our appetizer, and the Catfish and Ribs as our dinner entrees! All were delicious! Food is great. However, we ordered the german chocolate cake for dessert. An attempt was made to thaw it out by microwaving it. The outside was melted but still frozen like a brick the middle. Desserts don't seem to be their specialty. read more

Unfortunately, we chose the crappy hotel across the street to stay near the airport, and we were immediately turned off by their restaurant and bar. We walked over to Charleston's and are so happy that we did. Initial greeting and service at the bar were very welcoming. Decent wine and cocktails, wonderful menu with specials. We had the prime rib dinner with vegetables and loaded baked potato. Just a perfect dinner experience with expert service and a fully engaged manager checking on tables and making sure everything was running smoothly. After a long day on the road we found this place conveniently located next to our hotel. The prices are a bit uppity for my tastes but worth it when you try the food. The staff were very attentive and it has a nice quiet atmosphere which is just what the doctor ordered after listening to the hum of tires on the freeway for nine hours. Delicious! We had to wait about 15 minutes for a table, but the service was great. They kept our drinks refilled and were always checking in on us. The food was delicious and very filling. I especially liked the shrimp scampi. It is a bit expensive, but worth it in my opinion. I would definitely recommend coming here. read more

The service in this place sucks. Took forever to get our drink order to our table. Finished half of it before our salads even made it to the table. It took 37 minutes before our server actually took our order. Upon receiving the order, both mine and my friends steaks were under cooked so they had to be sent back. I specifically asked for no sour cream on my potatoes and guess what I got? I LOVE Charleston's. I live in Florida but come back for all OU football games and the WCWS every year. I make Charleston's, and all Hal Smith restaurants, a regular part of my trips. As always, my food last Sunday was fantastic. The Theta burger was classic and my wife's soup and salad were flavorful, fresh, and crisp. Unusually though, and sadly, our service in the bar area was far, far below any we have experienced at Charleston's. The bar was almost empty at lunch, nevertheless our server was inattentive. After I received my burger I requested catsup...it took 10 minutes, literally. After our party of 3 had finished, a server picked up plates for 2 of us but never returned to clear my wife's dishes. It was a shocking level of service from one of my favorite and most visited restaurants. read more

It is a sad day in Yelp town. I have been frequenting all of the local Charlestons since the mid 90's. It has always been my go to for a great meal and great service. But the times they are changing and unfortunately so has Charleston's. It is my sad duty to inform you that they took the prime rib off of the menu. That's right... not on the menu! A very sad day indeed! If that wasn't bad enough the last three visits the service has been unCharleston's like. This time we had a party of twelve. When we arrived it was not busy at all. I had to find another waiter and request that our waitress come and take our order. This was the constant theme of the night with everything. I started by ordering two orders of croissants and two orders of artichoke, salsa and sour cream trays. It was a good thing I did with slow the waitress was. Since the prime rib was no longer an option I went with a New York strip, a skew of grilled shrimp (the shrimp were small), baked potato and the glazed carrots. The steak was a bit over cooked but tasty. The best part of the dinner was without a doubt the glazed carrots. The rest of the table felt about the same as I did. For the cost it should have been better. I did let the manager know how bad things were and to his credit he did give the table a 20% discount. It's not going to be enough to keep it as my go to restaurant anymore. I literally went here every time I got to choose where to eat. Overall grade "C". We have been to this Charleston's location at least 40+ times over the past 5 years. We have never been disappointed in the food or service. When my husband and I have a free night together we always come here because we know it won't disappoint. The staff is beyond amazing and ALL of the servers are continuously cleaning off tables and refilling your drinks, not just your server. Some of my favorites are the Parmesan crusted chicken, Caesar salad, baked potato soup, and the baby back ribs! The perfect margarita is always on point! Not one complaint from my family. I was so happy that I was able to go back to Oklahoma. When I think of Oklahoma, I think of the delicious Prime Rib at Charleston's. The night I landed, I made a beeline to Charleston's. I ordered the following: Prime Rib: it came with a Caesar salad, I got my prime rib Med. Rare, with a loaded baked potato of course I had to end my dinner with their famous Key Lime Pie. Caesar Salad - They serve their salad with their incredible home made croissant. So delicious! Prime Rib - you can either get creamed horse radish or fresh horse radish and of course, I had to get both. Their baked potato was divine. Key Lime Pie - I can say anything back about this pie made with a pecan or walnut with graham crust with their delicious tart key lime. The place is beautiful, excellent service and delicious food. I usually don't write reviews of chain restaurants but Charleston's for a lack of a better word is a step above your mediocre chain restaurants who will remain nameless. The menu is simple and simplicity is key. I love it when menu choices are not too overwhelming because it tells me they're not trying to do too much. We were greeted warmly and our server Migdalia took our drink and food orders. The staff here appears to be comprised of college students. Well, one things for sure Migdalia graduated with honors for her exceptional service, attitude, smile and attention to detail. Dining on Valentine's day with 6 other guy's was not the most romantic thing on my to do list, but one thing's for sure. We all spoke fondly of the food. Either we were all shot with cupid's bow that night or the chef and his/her staff were firing on all cylinders, well, it could have been a combination of both. We fell head over heels in love with the food. We had a cheeseburger, chicken fried steak, prime rib, sirloin and grilled pork chops for our entrees. For starters we ordered the appetizers, the queso dip and chips and shrimp cargot in herb butter and cheese were winners. I had the grilled pork chops and honestly never had a pork chop in Oklahoma City that was cooked this moist and juicy and the sides of mash and beans were sweet and savory and complemented the meal well. Back to Migdalia's service, our drinks were always full and we never had to ask for a non alcoholic refill, soda running low, Bam! New glass of pop on your table! Adult beverage running low immediately asked if we would like another. Customer service is a lost art in most places, but alive and well at Charleston's! Bravo, well done! My new go to spot when I'm back in the area. What's not to love? Affordable, delicious and coupled with world class service. They definitely checked all the boxes.
