I got the shrimp tacos, which is what the waitress recommended and I am glad I did! Great food, and the staff were very friendly. The manager stopped by to ensure our service was good as well. Overall great experience

Spacious and charming bar & grill with excellent service and delicious food, including healthier options like their orange glazed salmon. Recommended and check it out!

Our waitress was great. Atmosphere was so relaxed and enjoyable. And than the food came out!! And it really could t be more perfect! We had shrimp tacos, turkey club and chicken strips we all ate everything! Just great flavor, presentation, portion and price. If I lived by I would eat here often!!! It's an absolute must!

The chicken Fried Steak was delicious, the cream gravy that was served with it was very good, the Mac and was creamy with a lot of flavor, we had okra as a side and that was perfect.

Food was great. Tasty. Service was quick and we went when the OKC and Denver had playoffs. Lots of people. Got seated right away. Environment was fun.

Spaghetti and meatballs

I've been here a couple of times now when I'm in town for business. The food and service are always good. I like the ambience. Feels a little like a dive bar but nicer. I had spaghetti and meatballs tonight and it was very good and a huge portion. I definitely recommend The Mug. I just wish they had something other than Chardonnay and Cabernet for wines.

Grilled bone in wings

Must try: T-Bone Steak and a Double Deuce Beer!…read more Why: I've been craving steak for a few weeks and when I arrived at OKC a few people recommended Cattlemen's. Ordered a medium rare steak and it was juicy and tender. It was also a large steak. Meal came with a house salad, baked potato, bread and a roll. I was also going to order Lamb Fries as an appetizer, but the waitress was able to let me try one piece on the house - great service! It would have been way too much food for one person. I washed it all down with their refreshing Double Deuce Beer. Everything was flavorful and satisfying - the steak hit the spot for me. Notes: It was a quick drive from downtown. Right when I walked in I was welcomed by hostesses and seated immediately. Everyone was warm and friendly. Def felt historic and legendary inside with their table booths, photos, and decor. A great hearty meal for my last night in OKC!

We were seated in what was basically an old looking Diner in which we weren't really expecting but it added some charm. We settled on the Blue Ribbon Ribeye & the Cowboy Prime Rib. Both were served in short order & although we wouldn't say they were the best we've ever had they were terrific nonetheless. Our server did a decent job & the prices were quite fair ( 2 Entrees, 3 Cocktails & a Dessert for $ 150.69 ) Next time we find ourselves in Oklahoma city we will certainly stop back in for another great meal, possibly even for breakfast since they open at 8am.

I was delighted to find out that our hotel was only 2 miles from this highly acclaimed restaurant. Upon entering, I immediately felt the welcoming atmosphere. We were warmly greeted by the host. The inside is lovely, modern and well laid out. It's perfect for date night or hanging with friends. The host chatted with us, explained the restaurant concept, and answered all my questions. We got the Baked Chèvre for our appetizer. It was layered with flavor and a most delicious and perfect bite for a cold evening. My entree was the Rainbow Trout. The fish had crispy skin and was moist, flaky, and well seasoned. The broad bean mixture served with it was equally delicious. The hubby had Honey Roasted Lavender Chicken which he declared to be one of the best chicken dishes he's ever had. He even raved over the vegetables that came with it. Of course I also had to try dessert. I loved my warm spice cake with a scoop of ice cream and swirls of buttery caramel rum sauce. The cake was so moist and paired perfectly with the sauce and ice cream. Our wait staff was friendly and professional. I forgot to jot down names so I could give them a shout out. Excellent staff is always a part of an excellent dining experience. This was just a delightful experience. The host even gave us the name of some nearby live music venues that we enjoyed later that evening. We will certainly return here the next time we are in OKC. If you are ever in the city, make a reservation and stop by for a fabulous experience.

Redrock Canyon Grill - Lake Hefner…read more First visit--and I can confidently say this place just earned a spot in our regular date night rotation. We walked in to a packed house, which is always a good sign, but were seated immediately. From there, the experience never missed a beat. Beverly took care of us and was outstanding--friendly, attentive, and genuinely engaged. You can tell when someone enjoys what they do, and it shows. We started with margaritas, and when Beverly said they were "perfect," she wasn't overselling it. Smooth, well-balanced, and served ice cold. We're both olive fans, so of course we asked for extras--and they delivered without hesitation. Going in, we made a deal: appetizers or dessert--not both. After hearing about the pineapple upside-down cake with vanilla ice cream, that decision was made pretty quickly. For the main course, Beverly walked us through the menu and the weekly specials: * Rainbow trout with roasted peppers and cucumber salad * 14 oz peppercorn crusted steak with mashed potatoes, broccoli & parmesan I know my wife--steak was the obvious choice for her. I went with the trout. Both dishes were excellent. The trout was cooked perfectly with a light, flavorful sauce that didn't overpower the fish, and the vegetables were fresh and well-prepared. The steak was cooked just right, full of flavor, and paired perfectly with creamy mashed potatoes and broccoli finished with parmesan. What really elevated the night was the hospitality. Kirsten, the manager, stopped by to check on us and took the time to have a genuine conversation. She shared details about patio seating and upcoming live music nights, which we're already planning to come back for. Then came a surprise--she graciously covered our dessert. A classy move that didn't go unnoticed. And that pineapple upside-down cake? Warm, soft, topped with melting vanilla ice cream... absolutely worth skipping the appetizers for. The Bottom Line: Great food, exceptional service, and a relaxed but polished atmosphere right on Lake Hefner. Whether it's your first visit or your tenth, this is the kind of place that makes you want to come back. Highly recommend for a date night or a nice evening out.

Food…read more- all were very good! - Dips and Spreads | bread was soft, fluffy, hot, and delish - Nashville Hot Chicken | chicken was VERY moist and the outside was crispy it had the perfect balance with the cole slaw. To me it was not spicy... I would have like more spicy heat. Overall, delicious! - Hot Rod Pizza | amazing flavor combination... crust sauce and toppings were all very yummy. Was good hot and even better the next day cold Service was great - friendly and upbeat staff. Large and lively establishment - I love how they had The Princess Bride playing on the big screen (muted). Definitely a good spot for groups. It was a little loud... so be prepared to compete with the crowd when having a conversation. Would I go back? Yes! So much more yumminess to try!

Honestly, I wasn't convinced that combo was going to work, but it did. The crust held up well and the toppings felt balanced, nothing was overpowering anything else. We also got the dips and spreads platter to share, and the warm bread with the pimento cheese went fast. Like, everyone kept going back for it without really saying anything. The server was good. Checked on us a few times without hovering, which I appreciated, especially since the restaurant was slammed that night. Food came out at a reasonable pace given how busy it was.

It feels a little upscale but not in a way that makes you feel underdressed if you show up in jeans. The staff was super sweet, and our server made great recommendations. I ordered the chicken fried steak, and it was SO good. The portion was huge, and the gravy was chef's kiss. Also, can we talk about the bread for a second? Because I would genuinely go back just for that. I kept telling myself "one more piece" and then suddenly half the basket was gone. The only reason it's getting 4 stars instead of 5 is because the wait for our food felt a little longer than expected. Nothing crazy, but by the time it arrived, we were definitely checking the kitchen door every few minutes lol. Other than that, everything was great. The food was comforting, the atmosphere was nice, and it felt like one of those places that's perfect for catching up with friends or taking your parents when they're in town.
