So we came from Bartlesville for a nice dinner out. The sever Laina did not check on us but once after we were fifteen minutes into our main meal. She did not check on us with our appetizers either! We were completely ignored. It's sad because we are a GM and a server trainer and she could of had the best night. But didn't care to make ours special AT ALL. We won't be be back. We've been such good customers of Charleston's on Brookside for years, and have used their carry out as well as eating in the restaurant but what the heck has happened to their food and service?? We've stopped using the carry out option because the food just isn't very good anymore, especially for what they charge! But we thought we''d give them another try and eat in the restaurant the other day for lunch. My sandwich was Ok but my friends Ruben fell apart and wasn't as good as she'd remembered, also, she substituted fries for slaw. Our server brought the sandwich with fries anyway... she asked him to bring the slaw which he did, but then asked for a refill for her tea, he brought her sweet tea, which she didn't have in the first place, when she asked him to bring just plain tea, he said, sure but never did. This is just one example, but they're just not the restaurant they once were. There are way too many options out there! read more

First time eating here and will return. We had our New Years Eve very early dinner at Charleston's on Brookside. Wonderful atmosphere, great wait staff, the mahi mahi was well seasoned and portion size was just right. Husband had the blackberry mule and said it was very good. SANITARY ISSUE: I sent my cheeseburger back for being really undercooked and they sent the same bitten cheeseburger patty back in an all new bun. How's that a sanitary issue? They threw a partially eaten burger back on the grill. My cooties are now on the grill. Sure, it probably cooked off but what if I said I had bitten my lip just before taking that bite of my burger? The next burger on that grill might have a little extra copper flavor, yummy! Why wouldn't they just send me a new burger like most restaurants do?! Other than that, the food was good. I have not been to Charlestons a ton of times, but I was there recently for a bridal shower lunch. I debated for a while about rating this restaurant three or four stars. I chose four, and here is why: My first experience here, the food was just kind of ok... I can't even remember what I had because it was a tad underwhelming. What really bumped my rating up to a four was the salad that I had at this recent bridal shower. I'm not usually a big salad eater, but the Walt's champagne chicken salad blew me away! It was fresh and delicious and HUGE! Not to mention that every salad comes with a hot, sweet croissant on the side. It was amazingly tasty. I think that the quality of your Charlestons experience will definitely depend on what you order. The service is always good. I 100% recommend the champagne salad. And maybe a side of glazed carrots :) I will definitely try Charlestons out again to try any other good menu suggestions I might come across! read more

Charleston's is a go-to for a really nice and reasonable date night or important meeting. Inside the restaurant feels special with dim lighting, enormous leather booths and professional hostesses. The menu is killer and has something for everyone. I now love the new Kale salad served with their signature croissant. The kale is fresh and consistently crisp. I also recommend to burger: it's drool-worthy. There's also a bar with a great drink menu. The takeout option here brings it's A-game. I was in Tulsa for a 1 night layover and was taken here by my daughter & her husband. It's was packed "a good sign". We were seated immediately, the staffing level was appropriate for the # of guests and things flowed fast & efficient. Every time my tea glass almost reached the bottom a new one appeared. I ordered the chicken fried steak & it was excellent!! The restaurant is in a downtown area that was very cool, little clubs, restaurants, ice cream/yogurt places, a pizza truck? lots of open air, sidewalk kinda places and just people milling about every where. Just a very neat atmosphere.. I had a GREAT experience at the restaurant & throughout the surrounding area. Definitely recommend!! read more

I am only giving Charleston's 3 stars because I don't want to be too generous with 4 star ratings. They make a "good" steak, a "good" cheeseburger, a "very good" Rueben, and quite a few other "very good" items. But the fact of the matter is that you can get better versions of each of these items at other restaurants in town. That being said, Charleston's has very good American food and very good service. You can count on getting a very tasty meal at a reasonable price. My brother-in-law who has worked here as well as several other higher end restaurants in Tulsa says this place has the cleanest kitchen he has ever worked in- which is nice to know. All that being said- the Key Lime pie here is awesome when they have it. read more

To me, this place is like a gussied-up, more-expensive TGI Friday's. Not to sound like a hipster, but when it's up to me, I don't ever choose to waste money at a chain restaurant unless I'm desperate. Usually they're just kinda boring and overpriced (plus it's fun to support local). However, I've ended up going here a few times for work. I've been to this particular Charleston's twice, plus one in the OKC area. Food is somewhat hit or miss... I got the French dip again this time, and it was OK but not $18 worth of good. It came out lukewarm, and the meat was meh. Last time I felt like it was much better. Creamy chicken noodle soup was tasty, though. I am surprised that everyone else has had such good things to say about the service. I've never had my mind blown by it, and this last time it just really sucked. Not sure about the other end of our table, but those of us at one end never got our drinks refilled ONCE. If I had seen a waiter at any point, I would have called them over and asked, but none came by. Plus they all seemed super confused when dropping off the food... I don't think there was one person who was handed their dish without some level of confusion. We were a part of 9, so nothing too crazy. We went to dinner at the Charlestons on Peoria. What a great experience. We sat at the bar and were served exquisitely by Brittany and Lauren. I had a pizza and my wife had the salmon salad. This has been my favorite spot to celebrate for over 10 years. Tonight was my 35th Wedding Anniversary and they messed our order up not once but twice. When we finally received our food the okra was not cooked long enough and the catfish was way too greasy. I have to say I am very disappointed and outdone. Have been here many times in the last month. Used to be a favorite of mine. Now I am back to being a huge fan. A llimited Menu, but everything they do is great. The appetizers and drinks are the best in town...try the appetizer pizza, and the spinach artichoke dip! I love the Founders Porter and they also make a terrific Bloody Mary. For dinner, get a house salad with blue cheese dressing and a loaded baked potato with their Prime rib. You will be taking lots of food home. Also their chicken avocado club sandwich is a great treat! They are always welcome to switch sides to whatever you prefer, so be sure to ask. The Free Wifi is a plus! Charleston's has been one of my favorite restaurants--to eat in and for take out. Last week I ordered a Walt's champagne chicken salad for a takeout, as I frequently do. When I opened the salad there was no chicken and very few pieces of fruit. I called the manager and he told me he would send me a gift card in a text. I have not received it. We were in town celebrating our anniversary and went to Charleston's on a recommendation from our hotel. To be honest I felt as if something was missing. The decore was absolutely magnificent, but it did not go with the menu. I expected a more sophisticated menu. The wait staff were standard take the order and deliver the food, nothing spectacular. This must be how the potatoes feel in the baked potato soup, warm, cozy, and ahhhh...at home. And why stop there! The potato soup truly deliciously satisfying and fulfilling, the bread pudding is...what can I say...the dessert of gods! Bourbon cream sauce mediating in butter with a succulent mixture of other ingrediants of heavens pantry makes this dessert a pleasurable experience everyone must share when they come to Charlestons. The 8.00 price is worth the moment of bliss. It's best to eat this by yourself, but if you have a loved one...let them try yours and tell them to get their own (or pay for it). Great atmosphere. Cool day so we had lunch outside (covered area); a little sprinkle here and there. Eating outside was so European that it reminded me of seating outside a Brassiere cafe recently in Paris enjoying a light meal with a drink watching the world go by. The spinach & chicken Waldorf salad was outstanding-plenty of chicken, fresh tasting strawberries; with thin slices of apple, egg, spiced pecans, a little cheddar cheese topped off with a sweet bacon vinaigrette. Very good combination. A very sweet fluffy croissant was a nice treat. Our waitress was very nice and interacted well with us-pre med student from Cuba by way of Puerto Rico by Florida. First time eating at Charleston's. The food was delicious. I had the chicken Picatta, and it was perfectly seasoned. My only complaint is the service around 1pm, weekday, was not great. My pet peeve is my drink sitting empty throughout the duration of my meal, I think I had 1 refill and I had to ask for a straw 3 different times the server had stopped at our table. We're all human though, so I would have to go again to give a more accurate review on service. Overall would recommend. read more
