A great place for hot sandwiches in the Great Mall food court! When we were weighing our options, we tried a sample of the Philly cheesesteak. That won us over. We had the Philly Steak Deluxe (with green peppers and mushrooms) and topped it with lettuce and tomato. It was pretty healthy and affordable because a large sandwich can be shared. I don't know what it is about this place and chicken orders but they have only gotten it right never out of 2 times for me. I also don't know what it is about Mayo they love, maybe they got a Kraft sponsorship or are owned Corporately by Best Foods, I don't know, but they seem to want to put it on every sandwich I order even after not asking for it on the app (used the DoorDash options), and putting in the special instructions in Capital letters NO MAYO PLEASE. It's the one deal breaker I can't manage around (although it would have also been nice to get my Red hot sauce on there too, which was the other mistake). Especially when I have had this issue twice. Pretty decent place to come eat for sandwiches. Probably now my favorite place to eat when coming to the mall. I've never been to any Charley's Grilled Subs before, as a matter fact, this is probably the only Charley's place I've ever seen. Enough with the chatter and I'll make it quick to the point. Good price, taste just as good as Subway (not sure how much healthier it is compared to Subway) if not better on taste than Subway. Fast and decent service and that's about it. What I ordered; Jalepeno Bacon Chipotle Chicken (I was a bit disappointed as it wasn't spicy to me at all) and upgraded my meal to what they call a gourmet meal that came with some yummy cheese fries topped with bacon. Let me preface by saying that there are not a lot of selections for food at Great Mall; I can probably count maybe 5-6 places in total. Of all of them, I honestly believe that Charley's Grilled Subs is your best bet for a decent meal. When I was at the food court, Charley's Subs was actually my second option. I first got ramen from Little Tokyo, and that turned out horribly. I ended up getting a small Philly Cheese Steak as my second dinner to wipe that horrible broth taste from my mouth. Since Charley's Subs is renowned at food courts around America, there's going to be huge lines-lengths comparable to the ones you'd get at Panda Express. It took me a few minutes just to order my sub and then another 15-20 minutes to get my sandwich. Luckily though, I had Little Tokyo to keep me company. In terms of the sandwich, I would give it a 7/10 for what it's worth. As a fast food sub, it tastes great. The price is a bit steep (~$6) for a small sub, but you get a lot of meat and cheese. Compared to Charley's subs I've had in the past, I felt like I was given poor quality vegetables. I only had a few pieces of lettuce and just one tomato. I've definitely received more in the past. tl;dr overall, the sandwich was good, but it would've been better if I got the sandwich sooner and if I received more inside my sandwich. Oh Charley's, how I love you! I've been a Charley's fan since they opened in Eastridge mall back in 2005. The flavors are always amazing and the sandwiches are huge! I've been to the other ones at Oakridge and Eastridge mall, let me tell you, this is the best of them. They never skimp on toppings on the subs or the fries, free refill, I'm always greeted with a kind smile. I cant speak for other reviewers who've had the misfortune of catching them on a bad day. Give them a break, you see them once for food, but they see us product consumers everyday, nonstop. These are people too, and they work hard to keep up with the pace. I decided to have a sandwich at Charley's, as it seemed better than most of the poor food options in the Great Mall food court. I ordered a Deluxe Philly Cheesesteak, and a fountain drink for $8. The service was quick and friendly, but I found that the sandwich was pretty bland, and didn't have much cheese on it. It tasted ok, but wasn't very satisfying or tasty for the price. Although not directly Charley's fault, the food court tables were not all cleaned, and I found the rest rooms to be pretty messy too, with toilet paper and water on the floor. This should be taken into consideration at this, and other food court restaurants here. I would probably not come back, and would just skip the food court altogether next time I'm at the mall. read more

Last nite I had a desire for an Arby's Roast Beef sandwich. Went to the Great mall food court and it was gone. In its place was a Charley's Grilled Sub. Ordered a deluxe Philly Cheesesteak and had them put everything on it. It was outstanding. Fries were thick and very good. Cost was about 9 bucks but I didn't mind because it was so good. Terrible service! Management needs to retrain the cook! I bought large cheese fries and I literally got 8 fries in there! I went back, the young guy with glasses stood at the register... I asked him exactly what this was.... He replied " it's supposed to be large fries " I looked at him and said "really"?? He turned to the rather large build female cook, who came up to the register to argue with me. She finally went to the fryer and added a few more fries. Took out a weighing scale and weighed the box as if to intimidate me. It was at this point that I felt the need to report her fry's frying attitude. Hmmm how do I know what the weight is now? How do I know what it's supposed to be? All I can see as a consumer is that my large box now has literally 15 fries instead of 8 and looks empty!!!! Solid 3 stars in terms of the food, quality, and taste. But 3.5 when it comes to mall food. It's a pretty new restaurant in the food court and in addition to classic Philly cheese steaks they offer chicken sandwiches, and deluxe style fries that include cheese, bacon, and other add on's. I ended up trying the classic Philly (medium sized) with cheese fries and drink. Combo will cost you around 11 to 12 dollars. Portion wise, not bad and the sandwiches are made to order. As for the cheese steak, I felt as though they didn't put enough meat compared to other mall philly cheesesteak restaurants I've tried. As for the cheese fries, I felt the employee didn't put enough cheese on it...especially considering the upgraded fries will cost you around 1.50 more. Got a major migraine after eating some bacon cheese fries. I never get migraines, but it started during the last half of my meal. The fries were okay, the bacon was almost nonexistent, the cheese was scarce and gross. The two young, workers handling the food were not very hygiene health conscious.
