    Delicious half sandwich combo
    Mary L.

Still very good and fresh here. It was a very quiet morning today, so I came back for another delicious soup and sandwich fix. Erik's DeliCafe of Milpitas masters it all. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great customer service, helpful, good foods, cleanliness, and well maintained cafe deli.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had a very good Farmer's Market Sandwich which was filled with more than enough fresh and crunchy veggies for me. Huge portion. The pickle and orange slice is still fresh and good. There's no other place with sweeter orange slices/wedges other than this location. Quick service. Cashier and employees are always super friendly and polite hardworking sandwich makers. My tomato bisque soup was good tasting as usual. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It wasn't crowded inside and the mood of the place is still very comfortable with lots of great selections on menu to choose from.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Some places are overrated, but Erik's DeliCafe has definitely made a very good mark on my list for years. Casual deli with good foods. Must love. Affordable good eats.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Lovely staff, clean tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] half sandwich a salad for the win for a light and healthier lunch option. Thank you for reusable plates when dining in! I am so appreciative of reducing single-use serve-ware.

This place is a classic American sandwich shop. I'm more of a banh mi (Vietnamese) sandwich guy, but this is a nice change of pace. They serve a good sandwich no doubt. Consistent every time. Food (4 stars) + Erik's Reuben is a classic warm pastrami sandwich with sauerkraut. It's excellent but you'll be wanting more. I wish it was a little bigger. + Italian job is a ham, salami, cheese, lettuce, tomato and pickled peppers. Its bread is like a French roll. Lots of pickled flavors and plenty of good nitrates. I can drink 3 glasses of water eating both of these sandwiches! Service (5 stars) + I was expecting to grab my sandwich but they come out and deliver it to your table + I asked for extra pickles and they gave free of charge Ambiance (4 stars) + [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's clean, but what's with the gender neutral restrooms?[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'll be returning. Their vegetarian sandwiches look bomb.

My wife and I grabbed a quick bite. Erik's Reuben: Pastrami, Swiss, sauerkraut, Erik's Thousand Island, on swirl rye bread. Served warm (4/5). One of my favorites here at Erik's. Flavorful and meaty. The tartness of the sauerkraut with the thousand island dressing was good. Service was friendly and welcoming.

I have passed by this place dozens if not hundreds of times only to come here in the pursuit of healthy food. I ordered two items, the pilgrims progress and tomato soup cup. I was impressed, you got a decent food place offering healthier food options with healthier nutritional value. Sometimes we all just need some quality sandwiches and not the usual.... Places

Erik's motto "Sandwiches with character" still holds true. I've been sliding through the Milpitas spot for 30 years and every bite takes me back like a family recipe to when everything was simple. These dayz there's louder flavors, bigger portions, and TikTok influenced sandwich joints everywhere. But sometimes, you just wanna rewind and take it back. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance here brings back that vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Front and center: my jam right here is called the classic Erik's Burger with ham, Swiss, that gooey Erik's sauce, sprouts on a warm onion bun. Add the pasta salad, and boom... straight 90s lunchtime nostalgia.

I've been going there for over 35 years but didn't realize it was there still so I've been going back the last 3 years. I love the pilgrim progress, very healthy and good. They give senior citizens discount. It depends who's working there if you're gonna get it automatically.

This place is my oasis all the time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Friendly staffs, calm atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I love the fresh sandwiches and delicious clam chowder. (half & half)

Met the boyfriend here on his lunch break. We ordered our favorites from the Erik's Deli menu. Sat outside on a warm sunny weekday afternoon. Service was fast -- they brought our sandwiches out. The sandwiches were fresh as always. Produce and meats are of good quality, and the bread never disappoints. Good location. Ample parking.

Hilarious marketing picture. They're measuring it width-wise over length-wise. Also the measuring tape isn't even synced up. LOL!
    Tom S.

It's the most average of sandwiches/soups/salads available. Does the job honorably, but that's it. If you're writing home about it but grew up eating sandwiches your entire life, then perhaps you ought to continue to try more tasty foods. Their MO is to put sprouts in their sandwiches. If you have a sweet spot for sprouts, this place may be for you. Service is good, workers are kind, and I really like them. I do like the convenience of ordering through their app and picking it up in a shelf near the quick take-out door. The app is pretty outdated though, but gets the job done. Also, their portion sizes aren't the greatest either. I would consider it on the medium/small size of sandwich offerings in today's world. Maybe in the 70s-80s they would've been above average, but not today. Lastly, their marketing picture on their app for their Big "E" sandwich always cracks me up. They're measuring the sandwich using a measuring tape, but it's width-wise and not length-wise. I understand you can't see the insides as well, but I'm not sure you can get an accurate read doing it that way.

    Pilgrim's Progress on sourdough bread
    Angelica N.

If you're asking me where to get a sandwich, 9 times out of 10, I'll recommend Erik's DeliCafé. I always go for their famous Pilgrim's Progress on sourdough, and there's just something about the combo of their secret goo and sprouts that makes it unbeatable. It's a hearty meal that leaves me satisfied without feeling overly stuffed or sluggish afterward. You can't go wrong with a sandwich, chips, and soda for lunch that always hits the spot. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that they consistently forget my pickle!

    Jill L.

Sorry to ding a local spot but I did not enjoy my sandwich. I ordered the half Pilgrim's Progress on sourdough with cup of clam chowder. The chowder was good but the sandwich was dryyy. Dry bread, dry turkey, not enough goo. One anorexic slice of tomato and barely any onion. I liked the sprouts though. On top of that, my friend ordered a full sandwich but the cashier charged it wrong and gave her a half sandwich so that took some time to clear up. Kindly they quickly made her another half sandwich.

We started with a generous assortment of banchan, and my favorite was the sweet potatoes. We each ordered the combination tofu soup and shared a half order of soy garlic fried chicken, seafood pancake, and beef bulgogi. I ordered my tofu soup extra spicy, and it was so good! I actually thought it could have been even spicier. The seafood pancake was delicious, with a wonderfully crispy texture. My friend commented on how juicy the fried chicken was, and I loved the light, crispy batter. The beef bulgogi was tender, thinly sliced, and served sizzling on a hot stone. The concept might be simple but the possibilities are endless! I went absolutely overboard with my proteins (both beef and lamb), enoki mushroom, napa cabbage, tripe, baby corn, fish balls filled with roe and tofu skin. I saw that they had tofu mochi too and it was one of the best new things I decided to give a try. The bone broth was rich, flavorful and had that perfect mala kick with the numbing spice. I got mild flavor so it was not the kind of spicy that I could not tolerate. Each topping also soaked up all the flavorful broth. My friend got the medium spicy bone broth and that was packed a punch! I love how all the ingredients are fresh and fully restocked. The staff is very efficient. On the positive side, they do offer a large variety of ingredients to choose from. When my bowl was served, I realized it wasn't the one I had ordered. They had accidentally switched my bowl with another customer's. Later, while eating, I came across some of the marinated cilantro beef, which looked raw. I asked the server if it could be cooked a bit longer, but she explained that it was supposed to be pink. I tried a small piece, but the texture was still very tender, which made me uncomfortable. It also didn't have the texture of what I expected from beef. My cousin also had an issue with her bowl. The lotus root slices were cut fairly thick, so after cooking, it was still undercooked and crunchy. Overall, it was a disappointing experience due to the cleanliness concerns, the order mix-up, and the food quality. There are plenty of ingredient options, but I don't see myself returning.

The pork intestines were not chewy and the meat portions were pretty generous. My only gripe with the order was that they precooked the meat and placed it in a bowl sized container, and then separated the soup base in another. That caught me off guard as I was expecting raw meats like you would at any other hotpot establishment. I suppose there are pros and cons to their decision to precook the meat for me, but I would have liked to have known they would do that or have the option of receiving it pre-cooked or raw since the doneness of the meat is kind of crucial to how good the hotpot will taste for peoples preference.
