Terrible service.. the cook was too busy flirting and trading food with a girl working at another spot. He was prepping her food off to the side. Seriously took his sweet time. To be honest, I don't like subway and sandwich places, never had a good philly steak (except from this one place at a farmers market). I came to this mall for the first time and it was time for lunch. I decided to try something new, Charley's. I went and was greeted by Gia, who was extremely nice especially because I'm a bit picky with what I want on my sandwich. Then a young girl named Alli made my order, extremely kind and let me decide what I want on my sandwich (veggies). I then took a bite out of the sandwich and it was one of the best Phillys I have ever tasted. I'm surprised to see the bad reviews. Maybe it's because I don't typically eat Philly cheesesteak subs, but the two times I've eaten here it was very good. My husband and I shared the biggest sub, fries, and a drink and it was $14.15. Pretty fair I thought, especially for mall prices. read more

Very disappointing!!! I ordered Ultimate Fries and chicken philly. The sandwich bread has gotten smaller and the ultimate fries is even worse. I got a very small portion of fries with only a pinch of bacon and cheese in it. This place is very stingy as like other Charley's I've been to. I thought being located in a nice place they would give you a decent amount of what you paid for. Can even barely see the bacon on my fries they put maybe a teaspoon on top of my fries. Healthy and delicious chicken Philli "cheesesteak" subs. They put alot of meat into their subs (twice as much as Subway :-) and the people are really friendly. The sub is ready very quickly. Their lemonade with fruit pieces is flavorful - I've never seen anything like it. The food court is more relaxed and pleasant than any other I've ever been in. Great experience. This location used to have the best service here. Today was not a pleasant day. They all have bad attitudes. You got the girl who was supposed to add toppings jumping over a conversation that my husband was having with the manager about how the cash register guy messed up orders and ended up over charging us, . How are you manager but yet you can't even resolve a customer complaint and you can't even control your employees, she talking over you. This Charley's is off this morning. Maybe all the employees needs more proper training. The worst customer service ever. I think McDonald's has better service. read more

I honestly never write bad reviews but my experience today was so horrible I couldn't ignore it. We arrived at about 1:00 pm today (09/19/2016) at the Topanga Mall location and the food court was basically empty. There was no one in line at Charley's so we thought we would be able to get our food quickly as I only had a 30 minute lunch break. We ordered our food, a regular veggie delight and a small chicken california with a strawberry lemonade, water bottle and the mexican fries (special item.) The man at the register told us that the promotion for the fries was no longer available and he couldn't find it on his system. I asked him if they could make it as they had all the ingredients and he said yes, it then took him several minutes to ring up the order. Meanwhile at the end of the line where you pick up your food and get the toppings put on your sandwich, there were two people ahead of us. One man must have waited a long time and just took his sandwich as is. There was a girl ahead of us who only got a sandwich and fries so not a large order that would take a long time to make. There were 2 other people working in addition to the man at the register, one at the grill who was not making multiple sandwiches at once and was really taking his time making the orders and a kid at the topping station who seemed new and didn't really know what he was doing. 3 people was more than sufficient on staff given how slow it was. I am a vegetarian and the grill was not cleaned before they put my veggies on the grill, it has 3 types of cheese on the sandwich and it was all smashed together and looked mainly like provolone and then the cook proceeded to cook my meal next to my boyfriends chicken california which is fine, but he used the same utencils to cook the food and kept going back between my veggie sandwich and the chicken sandwich! Finally my sandwich was ready for toppings and I was waiting for the chicken california to be done. Meanwhile the woman ahead of me had still not gotten her food!!!! The new kid at the topping station assured me that the chicken sandwich that was set down for toppings was ours, but I was pretty sure it was the womans. I felt bad for her as she was waiting even longer than I was, and it turns out of course it was her sandwich. So finally I had them give me my sandwiches and the fries weren't even ready yet. I told the kid to leave the chicken california plain as it comes and he didn't even put ranch. I had to remind him to put ranch dressing which already comes on the sandwich and finally we could sit down to eat after about 15 minutes of waiting for our food, at the food court which we selected as it is faster than a restaurant at a dead time in the mall. I did let them know as I left, that they really should clean the grill and use separate utencils for vegetarian items. Finally it was time to eat but I was so grossed out by my sandwich, especially after I found a piece of my boyfriends chicken in my sandwich and I pulled it out and set it on the side to take a picture (see attached picture) that I hardly touched it and had a few bites of fries. My boyfriend ate his sandwich but was very disappointed as there was hardly any meat on his sandwich! I have been a manager at several restaurants and sandwich shops and I never gave any of my customers this kind of service. I haven't had issues at Charley's before, but this was soooooooooooo bad. I shouldn't have to sacrifice good food and good service when I am on a short lunch and eating something I love which is a veggie philly. Should have went to Stone Oven or Blaze pizza for the same price, $23.00 was not worth it!!! Better luck next time, sorry Charley! read more

This place is in the Westfield Topanga (Woodland Hills) mall. My friend and I passed by their station and a guy offered us samples of the California chicken sub...it tasted good, so what the heck? I was starving and needed to eat. Taste of the full sandwich was good, but again, it's a case of overpriced mall food. The sub had some lettuce, tomatoes, a little swiss cheese and ranch dressing along with the chicken - definitely not enough of the non-chicken toppings though, unlike Subway, where they don't usually skimp on ingredients. Coulda been a bit spicier and more flavorful but not bad. They should have mayo in the dispensers, and also mustard, instead of just small packets. I paid over $11 for the sub, a small order of fries, and a humongous drink (I was not expecting them to give me such a large drink - I did not ask for one that big - but maybe that made the $11 a bit more understandable.) It took a bit too long for them to prepare the sandwich though. It was 5 minutes or so before they got it done and served to me. I don't think I'd go back though. There are better and more interesting places to eat in the Topanga mall. Go downstairs to Subway. You can get a toasted sandwich there for about half the price and twice as good-tasting. read more

Absolutely abysmal. My significant other and I have been taking trips to the restroom alternating because of what this has done to our stomachs. The ultimate cheese fries were covered with obscene amounts of disgusting not-so-real cheese spread and what can only be assumed to be spoiled ranch. The bread in my sandwich was too hard and it scratched the roof of my mouth. There was also a lot of it and it seemed like the bread to sandwich content ratio was off. They have some good sandwiches there; maybe I just haven't had the right one yet. There's always someone passing out free samples, which is nice.
