Great food. Caribbean Chicken Sandwich is a fave. Great to enjoy their food at Cooper's Hideout when a good band is playing.

The kind lady bussing tables was outstanding, and efficient. The place is well lighted and kept clean especially for the size. We will comeback when we are in the area, and overall it's a solid to 4 stars. Price point was comparable to the new restaurant pricing normal.

The turkey is always done to perfection, the ham yummy and plenty of sides and desserts. The salad bar was completely vacant, however...this was somewhat disheartening, considering how supposedly "health minded" American adults are these days. That was our first stop of the day. Cabbage slaw, carrot salad, macaroni salad, olives, huge delicious slices of beautiful tomatoes, gorgeous slices of cucumbers, nicely green lettuce, several types of peppers and ham. Cheese, salad dressing of every kind...best stop so far! Smoked pork, ribs, fried fish, yeast rolls, sliced roast beef, ham, turkey slices, meatloaf, fried chicken, baked chicken, green bean casserole, mac & cheese, cornbread dressing, turkey gravy, mashed potatoes, lima beans, black eyed peas, creamed corn, greens, rice, fried okra... Pumpkin pie, pecan pie, lemon meringue, peach cobbler, soft serve ice cream, chocolate cream pie, cookies, brownies...oh, I'm exhausted just from trying to list everything! There was so so so much more than what I even listed here, plus the absolute best waitress and Arnold Palmer maker! Why cook at home, burden yourself, spend HOURS cleaning up afterwards and hours more packing everything away? Take yourself and your loved ones out to Ole Times Country Buffet just one time for the holidays and you'll never go back to cooking again! (I sure haven't)

Thank you YELP! yet again for helping me find a fantastic joint…read more Went in on a Tuesday night. Parked right across the street in a public lot. Short walk to Halpatter's. Not many tables in the bar area so... we sat right at the bar. The bartender had all kinds of attitude... in the BEST way possible. It was awesome. We started with 12 wings tossed in their buffalo sauce. They were excellent - and this coming from a wing snob. The blue cheese was very good - thick and chunky. For the main course, I got the fish and chips with an extra piece of fish. The fish was great. Fries were above average. They had music bingo (maybe a Tuesday thing?) - that was a bit much but c'est la vie. There was one dude shouting out every song and singer. My guy, get a hobby! lol Highly Recommend! If I lived in that area, I would be a regular!

Especially, the abundance of free parking in downtown Lake City. The Friday night I was there, there was music bingo and a live band. They have live music every Friday and Saturday at the outside stage. Monday is game night. Tuesday is Trivia. Wednesday they have line dancing, including classes for like $5. Thursday is Karaoke!!!! They have a "Culture of Generosity" where you can buy a beer forward. I actually got to be the recipient of one of those free beers. And of course, I paid it forward. The BEER: Seymour-Finnegan's Irish Red Ale 5.7%... smooth slightly sweet great tasting all day crushable goodness Hop Culture IPA 6.5% ABV... looks like a hazy, tastes like a west coast, definitely high in IBUs, has fruity pine nose, good if you love your IPAs extra piney, so very hop forward Pickle Sour 4.5% ABV... oh he11 yummm, I absolutely love this pickle sour. Soooo very good! Rum soaked oak barrel aged Big Hal 7% ABV... there was something I really liked about this. It is a brown ale with a whole bunch of personality Don't have the words though. Big Hal brown ale 6 8% ABV... now I know what I liked about the Rum Soaked Barrel Aged Big Hal this is an all day drinkable brown ale. LOVED IT! I can honestly say I found some fantastic Beer in Lake City, FL. What a wonderful way to spend a Friday evening.

It was getting late and we were really hungry and with the RV and Freckles we needed a safe place to stop and get dinner. So I saw Cracker Barrel from 1-75 in Lake City. It was late and we were warmly greeted by all the staff. They have special RV parking too. Sherry was our waitress and the twins (Dave and I ) ordered the Campfire Chicken. One half of a chicken, little potatoes, carrots, and cherry tomatoes in a natural delicious gravy. It was wrapped in heavy aluminum foil. We also got two cornbread rolls and two biscuits with butter. What a deal for $15.99 each! We demolished mostly everything but I saved the carrots for Freckles. She was pretty upset today with all the thunderstorms and us traveling. Sherry brought me a to go coffee too! How sweet is that! So if you are in the area stop in for some good southern cooking!
