As we started on our RV trip to the Carolinas and Tennessee we had a massive water leak in the kitchen area. So we had no water at all! It was getting late and we were really hungry and with the RV and Freckles we needed a safe place to stop and get dinner. So I saw Cracker Barrel from 1-75 in Lake City. It was late and we were warmly greeted by all the staff. They have special RV parking too. Sherry was our waitress and the twins (Dave and I ) ordered the Campfire Chicken. One half of a chicken, little potatoes, carrots, and cherry tomatoes in a natural delicious gravy. It was wrapped in heavy aluminum foil. We also got two cornbread rolls and two biscuits with butter. What a deal for $15.99 each! We demolished mostly everything but I saved the carrots for Freckles. She was pretty upset today with all the thunderstorms and us traveling. We had a great time here with my family. This is the perfect place if you wanna have a nice breakfast with your family especially if you haven't seen them in a while, All the servers that helped us did a great job and very accommodating to our needs. I love the atmosphere there it's so warm and homie brings back memories from my childhood. We were a large group at the table. We all ordered many different things. We were traveling down I-75, which is common for us anymore. Decided to stop into this Cracker Barrel thinking we couldn't go wrong....but we were wrong. It seems as though restaurants have lost the concept of customer service. The waitress walked by our table 4 times, not stopping once. Finally, stopped and we ordered 2 momma's breakfast, With pancakes. I ordered scrambled eggs but got over easy. I told her and the response was "Oh". Then she continued to put our food down and left. We stopped her for refills and we asked about my wife's toast she ordered. The response, "They're working on it now". My wife started cutting into her pancakes and they were blueberry, which she doesn't like. Drinks were empty, still no toast, and we had eaten everything else we had but my eggs and her pancakes. Finally, she came back and we told her about the pancakes and the response was "Oh yeah they are blueberry. Sometimes they mess up in the kitchen. " she sits the bill on the table and walks off. We left with food left that didn't order (main courses) and noticed the toast was still on there, which never came. I thought I would have better luck at the cash register. The lady asked how our meal was and told her not good. Then told her about the toast we never got and the pancakes. The response was "I really sorry about that sir." Then gave me the total. She was super friendly i usually get the country fried steak but she recommended the beef campfire meal, was abdoulty delicious and a must try they have chicken as well. Cracker Barrel is at the top of the list every year in Lake City. This year it was mostly good. Our waitress, was the best, very helpful with good information. Atmosphere was, well, Cracker Barrel - same old, same old. The waitress recommended the soup of the day made with the previous day's Chicken Campfire meal (I'd had that early in the week and it was a lot of food, very good). The soup was good. The problem was that is was not hot. Not a whiff of steam coming from it. Lukewarm soup does not really satisfy. We got seated so quickly that I did not have time to look around the store! Maybe later. . . Landon was our server. While he got our drinks, we perused the menu, which had more items than the last time we were here. Husband loves the country fried steak, so that's what he ordered with white gravy. I like so many things, but ordered the chicken pot pie tonight. Comfort foods! Food came out quickly and steaming hot. Landon brought us extra napkins, extra gravy for Husband (good in biscuits!), and refilled our drinks. Yes, eating here was not as quick as a fast food restaurant, but the food and service were excellent. And we needed a break from driving. The young lady I bealive was looking for a big tip so now at the register they suggest what percentage of a tip you need to leave for the total of the food bill and I'm sure there are a lot of people not even adding this up and press whatever the machine tells them. Went on a Monday afternoon and it was not crowded. It was as cold as a meat locker. We ordered hot chocolate while we checked the menu. Large mugs with chocolate whipped cream drizzled with chocolate sauce very nice. The hot chocolate was bland and tepid. Wife had some sort of custard stuffed whatever with fruit and a strawberry syrup and a side of bacon. She said it was good and ate it all then complained about the hot chocolate. I had lemon pepper trout hashbrown casserole and fried apples. The trout was a little chewy but ok but the hashbrown casserole was cold on one side. The fried apples were good. I didn't finish the casserole. The server was attentive and helpful. It's been a year since we were here. Things are the same. Maybe next year. We used to really enjoy Cracker Barrel but this is the closest one to where we live nowadays. read more

This restaurant has to be one of the best Crackerbarrels I have eaten at. Food and service were very good. This chain constantly changes the specials menu. This week they added a half country fried chicken (4 pieces) with 2 sides. It was delicious. We had a nice waitress who kept checking on us through out our meal. The manager made the rounds asking the patrons how everything was. I told him it was about time that Crackerbarrel added country fried chicken. The store section was well stocked and neat. This Cracker Barrel is in a great location off i75 and close to i10. As I have a small travel van I often stay in CB back lots for RVs & buses. Although it's a little too "sweet country" for my style, I enjoy finding clothes, candy, cd's, atlas, crackers and more in the gift shop. This location I had a great conversation with the cashier and also excellent service in the dining area. I don't typically eat large portions and they taught me long ago to order from the kids menu. Pancakes/bacon & their tasty coffee with refills are a great start to the day. This time I also had the loaded hashbrown cassarole which was SO rich & filling -- thank goodness for my van's lil refrig for leftovers! I was surprised they were also offering bloody marys now, but I did not get to sample as I was going to be driving a long way. I'll have to go to my local CB when I get home & try that out -- with an order of kids pancakes! So to my friends who think their food is too buttery southern -- there are options! We stopped by on a Sunday during their busiest times. We were seated right away. The service and the food were both on point. They're always very busy, but move the tables surprisingly quickly. Even on a packed day the wait is usually only 10-15 minutes. Most of the waitstaff has been there 4-5 years so they are very efficient at getting your order quickly and ensuring your food/drinks are delivered very timely. The food was your typical Cracker Barrel fare. Country, greasy, tasty. The iced was delicious and the catfish dinner did not disappoint. So why the two stars? HALF the staff were wearing face masks. The other HALF were Half-assing it. Their mouths were covered but their noses were not. We are in the middle of a PANDEMIC people. The average age of your customers in the dining room was probably around 85. Really, what the hell are you thinking. Culling the herd. We left as the dining room filled up and more half-masked staff started walking around. Get with the program Cracker Barrel. Also the table had crumbs, stickiness, and the chairs had not been cleaned. So it goes without saying that you probably didn't make an effort to even sanitize the tables. You should care more.
