I needed to get out of the house and just get homework done. And so glad I tried ROCK! Put an espresso tonic on the menu and it will be ordered! A great afternoon pick me. I loved the big table for studying with the outlets readily available for all customers. Cool, quaint, and perfect for a study spot!

A pleasant coffee oasis on Townsend and Yosemite in Eagle Rock. The staff were pleasant and welcoming. They have a good range of refreshing mocktails. I plan on coming back during the week for WFH.

Rock Coffee is a solid spot for a quiet study or work session. I've been here quite a few times since finding it, and it's never been crowded. Most of the seating is a large communal tables, but there's also a long bar counter that's great if you kind of want to be "away" from others. Outlets are limited, but the wifi is reliable. Parking can be a little tricky since it's tucked in a small neighborhood, but it's doable. The vibe here is great; calm, cozy, and not overly curated. I appreciate that they don't blast loud music and instead play a mellow lo-fi mix that makes it easy to stay focused for hours. It kind of feels like studying at home or a library. As for drinks, the coffee is decent, not quite specialty level, but definitely good enough for your caffeine fix. Their iced teas are amazing though. The hibiscus one is my favorite and it's been sold out the few times I went. The baristas are nice and friendly! Overall, Rock Coffee is a great lowkey spot to get work done, read, or just enjoy a slow afternoon with a good iced tea.

A cozy little spot just a short stroll from me. I popped in today for a white mocha. It was good, but a little more milk than espresso for my taste. The place itself is super chill and cozy, perfect for studying or just taking a break. I don't come here a lot since I like to explore other places, but it's great having a little coffee shop so close by!

Stumbled upon this coffee shop while taking a little shortcut to my destination. Coffee was not all that, milked down coffee, more milk than coffee, please do better :( Though the barista/cashier was sweet but when the coffee is not great its upsetting.

    Welcome to ROCK coffee house.

The ROCK Coffee House on Townsend Avenue is a tiny coffee shop that serve coffee and tea. Its interior design and layout are modest albeit limited space. Atmosphere is very chill; music isn't loud so you can focus on your reading or work/study stuff. What I like about this shop is they support Rock's community programs. I came today to grab an Iced Coffee. It's the perfect way to stay cool on a very warm LA summer. Barista was cool and professional. Menu items are decent. Seats are comfortable. Service is on point. Collectively, it's a nice lil coffee shop. And I highly recommend this spot.

Fast internet! (Dirty laptop lol sorry)

Delicious salted caramel cappuccino! Not even being polite, it's ground fresh and had a lovely chat with the Melissa, who revamped this beautiful community café! It's so flavorful, right balance of bitter and crisp warm with whole milk (they have non-dairy options too). Lovely sweetness, subtle not overpowering. The space is HUGE! It's meant to be a community place where they want folks to come, order coffee and pastries and spend time. WiFi is FAST! Like 45mbps download! I will definitely be back, easy street parking in the neighborhood. Hope you guys enjoy too. I go to TONS of cafés!

    Great iced tea. Trust me.

Quaint little community run coffee house. Got stuck waiting for a ride in the area so I walked over to check it out. Greeted warmly upon walking in. Pressured selections and decided to ask if one of their teas, which was not in the menu as an iced tea, was available iced. She gladly obliged to make it and what I ended up with is the best iced tea ever. Tangerine Ginger iced tea! So good. The AC is a little under powered so the tiny dining room is a little warm. The sandwich a guy nearby was having looked good and the way he bit his finger as he ate it makes me think it's pretty darn good. All in all a great little spot with basic offerings and great service. The kind of place that makes you feel glad you spent a little money at. .

Hi Rebecca! We just uploaded a photo of our menu in the picture section. Feel free to check it out and stop by anytime. 🙂

We parked on the streets a few blocks away and walked towards this cafe. The exterior was green with a very nice sign. When walking inside, you'll notice all the patrons working on the computers or hanging out with a friend. Towards the left side, you'll see the merchandise and the register where you'll order your coffee and food. The coffee bar was alongside the left side of the perimeter. I can't describe it enough - very studio Ghibli, speakeasy, jazzy, and coffee enthusiast themed. The barista greeted us with a smile and was gentle about it. We ordered their black sesame cortado and their signature cortado. We also ordered their breakfast sandwich with sausage. Their cortado was very strong, but had a great sweetness to it. It was decorated with orange citrus and the other one had black sesame seeds sprinkled across the top. It was quite delicious. Their breakfast sandwich was chef's kiss - it reminded me of a good sandwich my mom made me as a kid. It had a runny yolk, toasted bread, some melted cheese, and tomatoes in it. This place gave me such warm emotions inside and just made it feel like home. I understood why every table and seat had a person in it. If you love coffee as much as I do, this has to be on your to-do list when visiting LA.

8/14/2026 First time…read moreat Loop Espresso Club. ESPRESSO CON PANNA I came here to try their Espresso Con Panna. Very little coffee shops sell them, so when I saw it on an online menu, I knew I had to visit. Coffee was fruity, sour, slightly smoky, lingering astringency and bitterness. The cream on top was light in sweetness. Overall it was okay, but still disappointing. It wasn't a smooth espresso, flavor was all over the place. Wish there was more contrasting temperatures of the hot espresso and cold cream on top too. Coffee beans were Brazilian, Guatemalan, Sumatra, Medium-Dark Roast Coffee. The coffee beans were lightly roasted. ICED MATCHA LATTE WITH MATCHA CREAM TOP Wanted to try their matcha as they really advertised Nami Matcha on their menu. First time trying Nami. Super light on the sweetness overall, hardly any honey or agave in their matcha drink. Matcha was grassy, a bit floral, a bit of sweetness in the matcha, a bit of astringency and bitterness at the end that lingers in your mouth. A lot of things going on, yet there was more of an aftertaste of astringency with bitterness at the end that wasn't pleasant. So strange that the matcha flavor was more on the lighter side, since I did add matcha cream top as well. However, I liked this drink more than the espresso con panna. But I would not reorder both drinks. AMBIANCE + SEATS A bit dark and moody place with dark ceilings, wooden chairs and tables. There were a lot of tables and it was packed today! The only available seats were the benches on the side. There were small tables, so I was able to place my drinks there. It is a nice place to hang out. Lots of points for the ambiance. CUSTOMER SERVICE It was good, staff was nice. It was packed and busy, yet they were nice about answering questions and making sure that everyone got good service. PARKING There is street parking, but even when I went on a weekday, it was difficult to find parking. There were neighborhood parking too, but it was far easier to park closer to the streets than in neighborhood street parking due to many tow away signs and private parking signs. I am open to revisiting although the drinks I ordered were not home runs. I felt there were more coffee or matcha drinks to try and their menu intrigued me.

Here are some of the key highlights: * In addition to the 2nd location in Downtown LA and a sister coffee shop Loquat Coffee in Cypress Park, the same owners also opened Fondry Bakery in 2024, a coffee roastery called Quat in Glassell Park in October 2025, and a 2nd Loquat location in Silver Lake in December 2025. * Still no private parking lot and the two public parking lots are still your best bet (5033 Lincoln Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90042 & 1311N N Ave 51, Los Angeles, CA 90042). Otherwise street parking is available. * Still no indoor seating with only few small outdoor chairs and a tiny table. * Our party had the Hojicha Latte (half-sweet $6.50) and Matcha Latte ($6.75). Personally, I strongly discourage anyone from getting the half-sweet option as it made the drink taste a bit watery. The Matcha Latte had full sweetness and it tasted about right, but it was still not as good as some other matcha lattes out there. * No public restroom [Conclusion]: A nice coffee shop to stop by while visiting the boutique shops on York Blvd. Decent matcha drinks, but I still prefer matcha drinks from various cafes in Koreatown if I want something on the next level.

How could this place get anything less than 5 stars?…read more If you're looking for a dog friendly place, one that serves coffee, and one where the folks are super kind and dog-loving? THIS is it! Met up with a friend here as I was in the area and wanted to bring my dog along. She suggested this place and I can't believe I had never heard of it before. There is a super cute dog patio in the back and some seating in there as well, so you can get some work done! When I did go, there was a smaller dog in there that seemed to take over the place and my 60 lb pit bull terrier was a bit apprehensive to go inside. Soooo, onto the regular patio outdoor seating we went, and that was a great spot too! There is seating indoors and outdoors, lots of cute items for sale (especially if you're a dog rescue advocate!), and lots of yummy drinks (hot, cold, seasonal), and pet and people bakery items to try too. They also serve empanadas (Nonna's Empanadas). I just parked in the neighborhood, and there's also one-hour parking nearby on the street too. Wonderful place. I'm so glad y'all exist!

The ube brownie is moist and vibrant purple. It wasn't too busy when I went in the morning, service was quick & friendly. They have seating indoors and outdoors and there is also seating in the dog area while you watch your dog play. Parking- street parking
