I met some friends at this restaurant for lunch last week. They served complimentary bread with olive oil that had herbs in it. OMG. It was so good! I couldn't stop eating it. I ordered the Seafood Diavalo, which was linguine in a spicy tomato sauce with clams, calamari, shrimp, and fish. It comes with mussels, but I don't like mussels. My meal was incredible! It was a large portion, so I took leftovers home to my husband. He loved it too! Our server was Aiko, and she was delightful. I can't wait to go back and try other items on their menu. If you're craving Italian food, make sure to stop in!

This is a Margherita pizza.....burnt and horrendous flavor due to it.

We always head to the LA Charlie's Trio but on this day decided to stay in to watch the soccer game and ordered delivery. Unfortunately the LA base one doesn't offer this option so went with the Alhambra location. Not happy!!! The Margherita pizza was such a disappointment!!! I cannot even give this item a 1 star. The spuds had fallen apart inside the box and the chicken, actually was good. The pep and mushroom pizza was in proper baking condition as it should have.

Oh my! I've been to Charlie's Trio in the city of Alhambra many times throughout the years and just realized I've never left a review!?!? (GASP!) Let me start off by saying that the service here has been consistently good. There's usually a lot of locals who dine at this establishment. They have both indoor and covered patio seating, as well as bar seating available. Prices are very reasonable, and they do have a very good Happy Hour menu ($2 off house wine). Food quality is pretty good but I especially love their Chicken Marsala the most! The only con? Despite having a parking structure right behind the restaurant, it can still get crazy busy in the area on weekends where finding a parking may be difficult. This is a family friendly restaurant, and definitely a wonderful place to bring your parents and kids. Highly recommended!

This is a review for pickup through UberEATS Ordered a small pizza with 2 toppings for $10. Pepperoni and sausage. Was pretty good. Plenty of toppings. On the salty side but probably due to the meat. Will definitely order this again in the future

Great place for happy hour, try the arancini & Roma Gorgonzola! Drinks are a little pricey for happy hour but it's a good environment

We were hungry and in the area so we decided to try out Charlie's Trio. It's a nice, local feel pizzeria spot. First time and so glad we ate here! The free bread was good and our server was friendly and helpful. I ordered the Truffle pig romano 12" pizza. It has a kick! Love the spicy level and it was savory and delicious. Easily a favorite already lol. Thank you!

First time trying out Charlie's Trio Cafe and we're so glad we decided to dine in. As soon as we came in the eatery we were greeted and the hostess who was so sweet and friendly. She seated us right away to a nice booth. This establishment is very welcoming and spacious. Plenty of tables and chairs for dining inside as well as outside. We ordered Specialty Pizza, Margherita Specialty Pizza and Chicken Parmesan. We received complimentary garlic bread. It was baked fresh. The garlic bread was moist and tasteful. Chicken Parmesan was fulfilling with a huge chicken breast. It was flavorful and tender. The chicken was not overcooked. The Margherita Specialty Pizza had several types of cheese. The Specialty Pizza had truffles and different type of meat. All the pizzas and pasta were delicious. The thickness of the crust was proportional to the type of pizzas. We can't wait to eat here again. We enjoyed our first visit here at Charlie's Trio Cafe. They also provided excellent customer service.

Convenient Italian spot with decent food Parking is accessible with street parking and a free lot around the corner. Food is average but does it's job. My friend ordered their linguine and clams $20 but said it was a bit bland :( I ordered their Chicken Pasquali (not listed on the menu) and really enjoyed it! We ended our meal with the Spumoni ice cream but there was some freezer frost on it :( Service was stellar though so thanks for having us!

I had a restaurant down the street from Charlie's, but had not been here for at least 20 years. I had a meeting and decided to give it a shot along with my brother. The minestrone soup was quite good, but I was hoping to find some sort of noodle in the soup. The pizza was quite good as well. The Chicken Parmesan was fairly good as well. We asked them to split it and they did. I believe the prices are a little low. Our pizza was small, but under $8:00? It was good over all.

Kid friendly, and our food! Sausage sandwich, chicken fettuccini and pizza!

BOOM! So good! Start with the service! (Mind you I'm still here, I never leave reviews before I leave) Our guy Cesar was absolutely on point, cool as hell and checked on us so much! Since we've sat here, I've been approached from 3 other employees aside from our waiter! That's top notch! I never care to go out of my way because win swamped with work, but this place makes me feel a tip isn't all they're deserving of! As far as the food goes, I was a little skeptical because it was taking it's time, tbh I was like hmm wtf is taking so long, but once the food came (ALL AT ONCE) I knew why it took its time! This is beyond 5 stars! The last pizza style I had like this was Giamelas and now I don't have to go way over there to Atwater to get it! Salad was fire, bread was KILLER and my son's fettuccini was so good too! I got the sausage Sandwich and my son and I destroyed it! As I'm leaving, people are pouring in now! Top 10 Italian here in SGV and #1 pizza! And there's a lot of competition here! Good job guys!

My wife was craving Italian food, but she wanted something close to our home. She found Charlie's Trio Cafe in Alhambra, and so we decided to come here to give it a try. We came here on a weekend and there were still quite a few seats available, fortunately. The restaurant is quite spacious, but a bit loud. Lighting was nice. The server was very attentive to our needs. I asked the server what pizza he recommended, and he said the Torino, which came with caramelized onions, spinach, and olive oil base instead of tomato sauce. My wife got a basic mushroom pizza. The restaurant provides complimentary bread with olive oil, which was nice. Nothing special about it, but a nice touch nonetheless. The pizza was a bit on the saltier side for me, crust slightly thicker. I loved the caramelized onions and olive oil though. I was not too fond of the marinara sauce on the other pizza, but I loved the cheese and toppings on the Torino.

First time trying Italian food here. There is plenty of parking in the structure behind it. Service was decent- they weren't super attentive but still okay. They gave free water and helped pack the leftovers. Ambiance was dim lighting but casual atmosphere. We got the southwest pasta ($17.75) and meatballs ($8.99). They give free bread and olive oil to dip. Pasta was good and filling portion. Meatballs were nothing memorable.

Breakfast burrito during weekend brunch, very flavorful with salsa on the side (requested the sour cream as well).
    Angelique A.

4.5/5 very good brunch with good portion and super good bottomless mimosas. For the Sunday/weekend brunch, amazing bottomless mimosa package. For $20/person (for up to 1.5 hours), the staff was super generous and filled up our glasses maybe 7-8 times. I got the breakfast burrito ($13) which had a good amount of ham, eggs and potato, but I wish it would have had avocado as well. Very good for the price however. My husband got the caramel chicken and waffles and the portion was soooo big. The chicken was super crispy and the flavor of the waffle was good, I would have liked it to be more crispy but my husband liked it. The restaurant is normally an Italian restaurant/sports bar but their more Mexican/italian brunch menu on the weekends is a very good deal. I'd be happy to come again and try their chiliaquiles.

Does this place has private room that could fit around 20-25 people? Or if I can reserve an area for a party?

This location is pretty small. I would say the only area where that many people might fit somewhat privately would be the patio. But, I would call to ask just to be sure.

What is the cost of fountain drinks? I can't find it anywhere on the menu...

The cost of a fountain drink is $2.25 plus tax

The mashed potatoes were incredibly soft, creamy, and full of flavor. We ordered the Margherita pizza and a cheese pizza for the kids, and both were delicious. The pizzas were cooked in a wood-fired brick oven, and you could really taste the difference. The carbonara was one of my favorite dishes. It came with an egg yolk on top that you mix into the pasta, making it rich, creamy, and flavorful. The lobster linguine was another standout dish. We also ordered the pork wings, which were so tender they practically fell off the bone and were served over delicious mashed potatoes. The mushroom ravioli was unique, comforting, and packed with flavor. We also shared the ribeye steak, which was cooked perfectly and was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. What really made the experience special was the service. The owner regularly stopped by to check on our table and make sure everything was good, and everyone working there was friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout the meal. Overall, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, the service was excellent, and every dish tasted like it was made with care and love. The meatballs were flavorful, tender, and a great way to kick off dinner. The pork wings, though, just weren't for me I'd pass on those next time. The arugula salad was fresh and balanced, and we paired everything with a couple of IPAs, which hit the spot. For the mains, the Carbonara was rich, creamy, and exactly what you'd expect from a comforting pasta dish. The standout of the night was the Amatriciana pizza easily my favorite. Crispy crust, great flavor, and one of those pizzas you keep reaching back for. Overall, if you're looking for a local Italian spot for a relaxed Sunday family dinner, this place is worth checking out. Good food, cozy atmosphere, and enough highlights to bring us back. Solid 4 stars.

The sausage had a great flavor, and the crust was very fluffy and doughy--so if that's your preference, you'll enjoy it. However, the cheese experience was disappointing; it was clumpy, overly salty, and quite oily. The cheese slid off the slices almost immediately, which made for a messy meal. I'm not a fan of a pizza where the toppings don't stay put, and between the excessive grease and the texture of the cheese, it wasn't for me.

Seeing the server and an Asian staff coming out from kitchen confirmed that the cooking wasn't fully American taste bud. But that is the reason why it hit me very well. Honestly, whether you have American or fusion or Asian taste bud, the taste quality is better than some average American restaurants. I tried the butter squash soup, lamp chop, and bow tie pasta with chicken. I was enjoying my soup and lamp chop a lot. The pasta was pleasant to me, but it wasn't exceptionally great compared to the lamp chop. My fiancé loved the pasta though, saying that the sauce wasn't overwhelming. It is not a cheap place to come for, but it is because the food and drinks (good white wine) have quality. The wait for the entrees was a little long, even though it wasn't that busy. I believe it was the chef spending time to make sure each dish was done well, unlike the busy restaurant where chefs only follow the restaurant's recipes to make it quick and easy. Lastly, the ambience was okay, but it was more an older fine dining/family owned style. It had some nostalgic vibe if you'd take it that way. Keep it up. I really hope it will be there forever long.

The restaurant sells itself as an East meets West, New York Style, California Vibes establishment, and it achieves this effectively. I came by with my daughter on a Saturday afternoon. The inside, see photos, is clean, well organized, filled with TVs playing sporting events, and sporting an open kitchen, and a self-serve beer and wine bar. I especially liked the pizza boxes available to take extras to go, as well as other conveniences easy to grab. After resisting the many delicious looking beer options, I ordered a personal Manhattan Meat lovers pizza ($14), a crisp, well constructed small pizza with excellent crust, no flop, and multiple meaty toppings. My daughter had the Shrimp Scampi with Linguine ($18), which included a trio of garlic knots. The pasta was cooked perfectly el dente, was exceptionally lemony and garlicky which I can appreciate, and included six large shrimp. While the sauce could have been a little thicker I thought this was quite good for a pizza and beer place. Everything was made fresh. The staff was friendly, made good recommendations, helped us get a to go bag, delivered food as it completed with a smile, and overall seemed quite happy to be there. Prices, above, I found to be quite resonance for an independent chain offering food of this quality for sit-down. Mamma's was a surprising hit, offering great food and casual vibes at a great price. We collectively concluded that there were no meatballs, so some delicious meatballs was brought to our table posthaste. Solid service. It was my first time there and it was pretty obvious. I think the manager or owner was working at a table and even offered to give me her space. (I had a tote with me). Like what? How nice! But I chose a table in the middle. It's a small space so not a lot of room. They do offer patio seating but it was feeling like Hades in Pasadena so I opted to eat inside. It very much feels like you're eating in someone's kitchen and I think that was the feel. I got the antipasto salad. OMG. It's extremely generous with everything on it (see pics) and though it would be enough for two people, you're not going to want to share. They gave me little bread crackers and bruschetta to start. The service was amazing and honestly, I think I found a new favorite spot. Highly recommend!
