    Paper plates???

My food was served on paper plates for dine in. The food was not food. The chili cheese fries or hamburger special was not worth it at all

I've been into trying old diner spots lately and gave Augie Burgers a try. I did order on a food delivery app and came in person to pick it up. The store is located at the corner of Del Mar Ave and Clary Ave. There is a small parking lot in the back. It was empty when I went at around 6 pm on a Monday. I was surprised that the order wasn't ready by the listed ETA. Once I checked in, that was when the staff started to pack up the order. This had me waiting a few minutes afterwards. The chili cheese fries were moderately crispy. It was salty and had a good amount of chili and the cheese layered from top to the bottom. It was a solid 7/10. For the double bacon cheeseburger, it was a bit crispy. It wasn't soggy, despite me waiting a bit to eat it. There was a good proportion of ingredients, as nothing felt overwhelming. It considered this a 7.5 or 8/10. Overall, this place felt like a decent option if you're In the area. I wouldn't go out of my way to try it though.

After we went interstate Batteries to check the battery of my car,we were hungry then I check my Yelp and Google what restaurants are around. There's one pop up Augie's Burgers just 5 minutes away that's the place we headed to. We step in and we were greet then we look at the menu display then we decided to order my wife order a BLT and I order a cheeseburger combo. Couple of minutes later our meal was ready to pick up our meal. My cheeseburger was delicious in one bite tasting the flavors of the char boil burger was amazing including the hand peel lettuce not shredded and cheese and pickle and onion and also the secret sauce aka thousand island dressing. The cheeseburger was good also the fries crispy to the bite and a refreshing drink of Pepsi. My wife enjoying her BLT very much. We enjoy the food at Augie's Burgers next time we need choice different items from their menu.

Grabbed some take out here after work since it was close by and I've always seen it in the neighborhood. I'm so glad I gave it a try! I ordered a cheeseburger with no onion, chili cheese fries and the chicken plate for me and my partner. The chicken plate with their salsa is sooo good. The chicken is juicy, has good char, and pairs so well with salsa that tastes fresh and has a good spice level. The chili cheese fries were solid and the cheeseburger had that comforting fast food diner taste. The man working is friendly and kind. And the service was really quick too. Parking: private lot and street parking

Solid place for breakfast and lunch. Clean establishment with a friendly atmosphere. Reasonable prices and portions. We shared eggs and hash browns which were really good. Not greasy and very tasty. My daughter gave their hotdog a 10/10. Needless to say she loved this place. We will definitely be back.

    Double burger and onion rings

Great burgers, simple, fresh, made with efficiency, care, and grace. Friendly staff with a no nonsense approach. We had the bacon cheeseburger and the double cheeseburger with onion rings. Only reason for not giving this 5 stars was that the onion rings were not fresh and a little overdone. We sat outside in the later afternoon and relaxed in this comfortable eclectic auto repair /residential neighborhood. This will be an easy stop next time; it felt like a real family spot with honest integrity.

Solid burger. Not the greatest but can't really go wrong with burgers. Burger is ok. The toppings are all in the middle though so if you get the corners, you just get plain burger and bun. (could just be mine from this visit though) Fries are very solid. Fat fries typical from burger joint. Staff is nice. Just go up there and give your order, they won't do the niceties with greeting and asking if you need help.

Same burger with the sliver of avocado - how much do they charge for this sliver - not even a slice....

I've been here a grand total of twice…read more My first experience was problem free. Kudos. The second visit "could've been better" (which Yelp suggests that a 2 star rating would be appropriate to indicate): we placed quite a simple order - 2x Strawberry Sundaes. We took our number placard (#52) and sat at a table to await our order. After patiently waiting what I would estimate to be approximately 15-20 minutes and seeing quite a few other people served their orders, I did find it odd that it was taking so long to prepare 2x sundaes, so I located the young man who took our order and politely inquired about it. He looked a bit confused, exchanged some unintelligible words one of the guys on the grill, and then looked back at me and said it was not our turn yet (or something to that effect). Okay, fair enough. Maybe there were many orders ahead of us. I took it in good stride and went back to my table. After waiting approximately another 15-20 minutes and seeing that *Order #70* was being given their food, I realized that there was a problem and went back up to the ordering counter. I ended up talking with an old man (who I presume is the owner/manager). I explained the situation, and he inquired who had taken our order. I looked around, and the young man appeared to be nowhere in sight, but I did mention it was he who had had taken our order. The old man apologized and assured us he would take care of our order right away. Sure enough, I saw him beeline to the ice cream machine to start our sundaes, and he delivered them to us within 2-3 minutes. He apologized a second time, stating that it was the young man's 2nd day on the job, and that he otherwise would not have forgiven the transgression. In my experience, the resolution to the absurd wait could have been handled worse (in theory, the old man could certainly have told us to pound sand rather than apologizing and immediately attempting to correct the problem and quickly getting our desserts after being made aware of his employee's failure), but also could have been handled better (comping us for the trivial cost of the sundaes as a remedy/cure would have more effectively salved our irritation from the unnecessary waste of 30+ minutes of our life, and would have been in-line with remedial efforts I have experienced at other eateries, including similar fast food/burger joints). All that said, the sundaes were quite good. They would undoubtedly have tasted better had they been served in a time frame reasonable enough to not spoil the mood. I get that this is not a fine dining restaurant of any sort, but I still expect staff competence to be no worse than that of a McDonald's baseline level. I also get that humans make mistakes, but ... how did a simple order of 2x sundaes get botched this badly, particularly after a good faith attempt to bring the matter to staff's attention??

The smell of the food they were cooking smelled so delicious. It was hard to not want to try the food. Sean had explained the menu to me since it was my first time going there. A customer in line had chimed in how they had done a collab with Gooey Center cinnamon rolls and they put a maple sausage in the middle. I had ordered a few sandwiches but was only able to try the sweet heat croissantwich. This was amazing it was a crunchy yummy goodness that I can't explain. Sheeeeeeeeeiiit. True story- All throughout my time at San Pedro High, my best friend Mick and I usta demolish their Combo Burger Platter (burger/fries AND onion rings, side salad and drink) for only $3.65. 40yr flashback over, your favorite Yelp correspondent went for Fantastic's pastrami sandwich combo. And while it doesn't come with a quintet of items guaranteed to fillya up- I can vouch that the pastrami is legit!!! Well seasoned, peppered, served steaming hot aboard a French roll gently slicked with mustard. I've had my share of fabulous pastrami in my time- Katz Deli in NY, Brent's Deli in Northridge and more locally and if you're in a severe 'strami fix...then Togo's #9 will do ya, too. This doesn't compete at those lofty levels, but for its price I'll order this eight days a week over the razor-thin pastrami dispensed by the overrated The Hat chain of pastrami-phixated locales! Parking: Street parking was super easy on a Sunday afternoon, I was able to pull up right in front and park on the street. There is a Super A across the street and ample parking around for free. Ambiance & Food: This reminds me of an old school burger stand. Those were the best burgers and this one did not stop that trend. As I walked up, we were warmly greeted and given a quick rundown of what which burger. They did have specials (I will get to that in a second) which we were intrigued, but for the sake of perspective, I ordered the Goldburger and both regular fries and curly fries with a bottle coke. The Goldburger is naturally a double, but my gymrat protein brain added that extra patty. They use a 70% to 30% mixture for their burger which makes the burger oh so decadent. The picture I took doesn't do it justice. The moment you bite into the burger the combination of burger juice, aioli, burnt skirt, all come together in such a harmonious fashion. It was remarkable. Though fries are not one of my strong points, both fries were crispy and I haven't had any other experience with Curly fries other than Jack in the Box, but these were so much better. I went ahead and dipped the fries in some homemade Aioli and dang, what a combo! Back to those specials, the current special is CHILI, I was intrigued so they gave me a small container of it to try. Man, if I wasn't watching my caloric intake, that would have been the move. It was rich and chunky and not to soggy which some always comes. Give it a try as they said it will be around for sometime. Other than burgers, they do have hot dogs as well. So worth trying both next time. To be perfectly honest, this brought back so much nostalgia for me, I used to go to school in the area and this brought a lot of those memories back. I ended up in Montebello by chance and looked to Yelp for some help with lunch. I ended up at a little food court that had a few solid looking options, but sometimes when you see a burger and smell a burger, you simply need to eat the dang burger. There was no line when my wife and I approached the window to order and we ordered a double cheeseburger, a grilled cheese, an order of fries, and a milkshake. Now, instead of simply giving us the price the dude working told us how it was going to take a really long time because he would have to make the burgers and the milkshakes, which ya know, is kind of how it works when you order food. So instead of questioning his logic, I just said forget the shake and ordered the food. The food took literally 8 minutes to come out and I can't imaging the milkshake would of caused that much trouble since they are ordered all the time, but who am I to say? The food was great, as For The Win always is. The french fries were great and so was my burger, but the lackluster interaction with the kid working really put a damp on the experience. Overall, For The Win is still my favourite burger chain in LA and it's going to take a lot for someone to knock them down (although Burgers Never Say Die and Irv's are up there too). Maybe one day, I'll even get to try a milk shake! Hopefully you have a better time ordering then I did.
