The best Thai restaurant in the south end of the Rogue Valley. Casual and affordable.

I stumbled upon Charm today and popped in for a Panang Curry lunch. The food, staff (family-run) and ambiance were all great; the restaurant is friendly and comfortable. My curry and tea were $20, which I found very reasonable. I ordered the curry with tofu (generous amount), which was nicely cooked, super lightly fried, and the sauce was flavorful, rich and had a good complexity of spiciness with fresh herbs. Portion was perfect for this hungry solo diner. My only wish was that there had been a brown rice option. I'm looking forward to trying more of their dishes! read more

Best Thai food I've had since moving to Medford area, and I've tried several. Very authentic, so medium spicy is pretty spicy. Crab fried rice is delicious! Large pieces of real crab. Take out portions are large. We'll be eating Thai food the rest of the week. Yum! read more

Charm is by far the best Thai Food restaurant in the Rogue Valley. They're kind and they are authentic and delicious. I wish they had another location in Ashland so I could go everyday on my lunch break!!! I've heard a few people mention no ambiance, but I think their ambiance is great, as well as their service. We recently heard about Charm and decided to give it a try. We arrived to a full dining room and thought we may be in for a treat, and we were indeed. Ordered the pad Thai w/ pork, Penang curry w/ pork, and the pad see ew w/ chicken. Everything was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The pad see ew was our favorite, but the other 2 dishes were just as tasty. I would 100% absolutely recommend Charm to anyone looking for awesome Thai food! We will most definitely be back to our new favorite Thai restaurant in the valley! Can't say enough good things about how flavorful this food was, a must try for sure!!! I've been here so much now I think I'm a qualified reviewer. First off, this is the best Thai food in Southern Oregon and wonderful service to match. My go-to dish at every Thai restaurant is the pad kee mao with chicken. I've had more bad versions than good, so it was a delight that this is by far the best. It forgoes the wide egg noodles in favor of a more slender vermicelli style (I'm using Italian names for the noodles because I don't know what they're called in Thai). All the better for those complex flavors to blend. The chicken pad thai also layers on the flavor and uses a delicate angel hair rice noodle with fresh bean sprouts and chopped peanuts for crunch. The sauce is full of flavor without being acidic like some other local versions. The pad see ew with beef and egg noodles takes on the smoky heat of the wok, which gives the dish an extra layer of flavor. Surprisingly, one of my favorite menu items is the lettuce cup, which comes with a plum sauce to spread on the lettuce and finely chopped meat and veggies. I don't know if that dish is Thai or Chinese, but it doesn't matter, it's delicious. The fried spring rolls are filled with fresh, crunchy vegetables. The only dish that didn't land for me was the panang curry, which I found to be bland and overly thick. Other than that it's hard to find a kitchen that puts out so many consistent winners. This is a restaurant that cares about its food. It's not cheap -- two entries, a side order of spring rolls and soda/iced tea can set you back about $57 with tip. But the portions are so large that a single entree is enough for two more leftover meals. read more

Charm has been open for only a few weeks now, and we've already been there four times. It's a family business with excellent food, friendly service, and less than a mile from our house--- we plan to be regulars here. The dining room is very clean, bright and modern: there's outdoor seating also. The menu should be familiar if you like Thai food, and they don't skimp on flavor--- dish descriptions don't mention heat levels, so if you're averse to spicy food you may want to double-check before ordering. Service is very friendly and attentive. Food arrives promptly and is always hot and perfectly cooked. We're so happy to have Charm Kitchen in Phoenix! Hope they have great success. read more

Ambiance is not why we eat here but the food most definitely is. After several of our friends raved, we finally made it, twice so far, and we'll be coming back for sure. We particularly liked the Panang Curry, Pad See Ew, and the Chicken and Pineapple Fried Rice. A few suggestions: come early, because they can get super busy and order Mild unless you like it really hot. Perhaps our only critique was the skimpy wine pours. Charm is solid Thai food and some of the best in the Rogue Valley. I called in an order on a packed Friday night, and the kitchen made it on time. The appetizers were great. The apps were fried perfectly. I wish the calamari had actual calamari pieces and not sticks, but I get it. The entree portions are enough for two meals. My husband and I come regularly to Ashland for the Shakespeare festival. Unfortunately, the food choices in Ashland are either filet mignon for 50 bucks, or mediocre takeout. We weren't in the mood for either, so we tried this little Thai place in Phoenix, a few minutes away from Ashland. It's in a cute little corner of a nondescript strip mall. Interior was bright and clean. We have eaten Thai food in all the major cities in the US and in many cities around the world. This place stacks up. Charming staff, excellent menu, and the food really delivered. We had the potstickers, Pad kee Mao, and the Prik Pao. All three were delicious, all three had completely unique flavors, and our only criticism is that this restaurant is not around the corner from our house. And the whole thing with a generous tip cost $49. We also came away with take away boxes so will get another meal out of it. Highly recommend! We will be back! read more

First time in and walked in to grab a To Go order and told 45 minutes so we waited around. Kept checking and saw one of 4 dishes I ordered were up by my ticket and name on the shelf. Told 10 more minutes several times. Finally after 1 1/2 hours it seemed all my dishes were up but NOPE...the last one still needed 20 minutes! So 2 hrs for Take out...no thanks! Food was good but crab fried rice definitely could have used more crab and for 85.00 would have liked my food HOT. read more

My daughter and son-in-law took me to this restaurant on my birthday. First time for me, and as a Thai cuisine enthusiast, I was grateful for their choice. The ambience, the impeccable service, and the food were absolutely amazing!Fresh ingredients, so flavorful that you feel them literally explode in your mouth and you savor each bite. We had potstickers for appetizer, and ordered three different pad Thai dishes for main course. It was a Thursday and the restaurant was very busy with both customers and takeout orders.
