Driving from the beach the hunger struck. The place was in the left eye, i made the left and parked in the wrong spot so what. Small place with delivery and a patio outside, small. I had a charo chicken burrito and my lady friend had a two piece chicken meal with black beans. The Burrito was good, I tried every salsa and they were ok, there was a red brown salsa that was hot with garlic. Green salsa that was good. The Charo salsa was chunky with tomato but fresh. Good with the chips i got with my meal. I had some rice from my lady friends meal. It did look good and she did eat most of it and that is a good sign. When I take another out on a wild toss like this I get scared but this was great. Good end to the beach and from joe jost's. Price was fair, but they were quick. The flour tortillas were eh. How hard is it to pack an order to go? Not very. I know. I did it for seven years. Yet these employees can't seem to figure it out. There's a reason I don't like ordering from this place. EVERY TIME they get it wrong. You ask for something so very simple, but it's just so hard to comprehend. I blame it on millennials. Zero effort. Had to call to have them deliver the missing items. I will never step foot in this location ever again . I had a gift card I wanted to use. I placed my order over the phone for pick up . Once I arrived to pay they did not know how to process the gift card properly I was very calm and patient but after waiting 15-20 minutes for them to try and figure it out I became annoyed. I spent my whole lunch there waiting for them to try and figure out the gift card process only to end up leaving with no food and them still not being able to process my gift-card. You guys should give your employees more proper training it's a disservice to your customers. So much for my coworker on enjoy his birthday lunch. I Went in and ordered as usual. I noticed the cook was instructing someone and talking for about a minute over my chicken beofore putting it in the take out container. I didnt think much of it at first but looking back it was the begining of their other mistakes. I was handed my order and as i was ready to walk out the door they called me back because they forgot the tortillas. I left the restaurant and went home to enjoy my meal. I opened the container to find that they also forgot to put the lemon garlic butter on top of the chicken. If you've eaten here before you know its what makes the chicken what it is. So i called and the woman apologized but didnt offer to replace to my order. I took a bite into my chicken and realized this crap was overcooked and dried out. I got the spicy tostada chicken salad it was pretty yummy. I love the sauce bar station and you can get other goodies for your food as well such as cilantro, lines, jalapeño's etc. I got black beans with my salad it tasted very yummy. The chicken was not dry and I got very full from the salad. I added the green tamitillo sauce as well. Overall very good I would deff come back here to try more of their food. The hubs and I have Charo delivered a few times a month. It's one of the few places we can agree on. First of all, they deliver free!! They're food is constantly really good and the service has always been super pleasant. Also the portions are pretty big! I almost always get the charo bowl (which could easily feed 2 so I always have leftovers) because it has all my favorite things. Chicken, rice, beans, pico, YUM. I enjoy the fact that the pico is always fresh. Means a lot when that's a quarter of your meal. And their pinto beans and rice are better than I could ever make at home. I don't know if it's necessarily 'healthy' but it's damn good! read more

I have lived in the area for years and have repeatedly given this place a chance. Tonight is the last time. I decided to give it a try again tonight after a one year break (customer service issue last year with the owner). I ordered my food for pickup over the phone and spoke with a very pleasant young lady who got everything correct. When I went into the store to pick up my order, the owner tried to make me pay extra for tortillas. When I pointed out on the wall menu that it is supposed to come with it he said I could only have 3 tortillas for half a chicken. I. Am. Done. Never have I ever had someone try to upcharge me on flour tortillas. This place is a disappointment time and again. Stopped by here late one night in search of a fast cheap meal. I didn't find either. I ordered the two piece chicken which included one leg and one thigh and two sides (guacamole and rice). The chicken had probably been sitting for a few hours and there was more grease than chicken. The rice wasn't anything to write home about and the guacamole was barely decent. My order also came with corn tortillas, which sucked, as did the stale chips. The salsa bar was messy and out of just about everything. The guys working were ready to get off, can't blame em. So every other Friday we usually like to order lunch... Today we picked Charro Chicken in Long Beach. From the beginning we had a horrible time ordering our food from a girl named Estela or Stella however you want to spell it....first off she gave us the incorrect total for each order. She said the delivery fee was 2.50 it was 4 orders and she charged 0.75 to each one of us for delivery fee... Does that make sense? When we called to get that straighten out she had an attitude about her mistake. So we asked to speak to a manager... She first refused and said she would just cancel the order and not transfer to a manager. Another coworker grabbed the phone and asked her to get the manager! So this time she did this time. While she was talking to the manager named Nina the delivery guy got to the office with our order (usually takes longer so we were surprised) the manager then said we could keep the food at no charge and apologized for the horrible experience Fe we had with Estela or Stella. We told the delivery guy and he called to confirm. Well as he's talking to this very rude Estela girl she makes a comment.. At this point I'm standing next to him and she begins to speak Spanish... Then she continues to say" Dejale la pinche comida a esa pinche negra" ... When I heard that I asked him to tell her we spoke Spanish and I just heard what she said and it was not needed or called for... I called and spoke to the manager myself at this point and made a complaint about her comment. We ordered from this place a lot... This is the last time we ever order from them! Lemony-garlicky deliciousness! Any chicken item here should be accompanied by the lemon-garlic sauce. It's basically butter with lemon and garlic...but what's not to like about that? This place is a little pricier than El Pollo Loco, but totally worth it. The chicken pieces are big, juicy and meaty. They have a variety of salsas. Sides they have include black beans and garlic mashed potatoes, which I really like. Self-serve drink options include horchata and orange bang...mmm. One of my more recent favorite items here is Moe's Famous Potato: a cut-up baked potato, topped with lemon-garlic sauce, pico de gallo, cheese, and big scoop of guacamole, plus your choice of chicken or steak...excellent!!! This is what I appreciate because for reasons unknown, many other Mexican food places I've been to fail miserably at seasoning their food; this place does an excellent job.
