Review A concise review of our dinner experience at Chatterbox. This place was mediocre at best. Slow service. My fiancés parents LOVE this place, but to me it was nothing to write home about, very disappointing honestly. I really wanted to like it here especially because it seemed like the owners are trying, but it's just meh. It started with the menu iPads, handed to us covered in crumbs and nasty fingerprints. Cool concept, but just give me a regular menu (I'm in my early twenties, so not to sound old). Our view consisted of a pretty sky outside, and dead mums. Like why wouldn't you throw away the dead mums. I asked the girl if we could turn on the outside heaters since it was chilly and she said no, but I think there might have been a language barrier. Service: Slow. SO slow. Food came out at a good pace, but our server (despite being so sweet) kept forgetting about us. So many times. Wait: No wait, no reservation. We could only sit outside, though. Drinks: Good cocktails. Appetizers: Margarita pizza was horrible. It tasted worse than an Applebee's kids meal. The sauce was missing something. I didn't even finish my slice. Entrees: Tri color salad was boring and flavorless dressing. The chicken parm with burrata was carb overload but delish. Best penne ala vodka I've ever had, hands down, and I've lived in Italy, lol. Their sauce is soooo delicious and their pasta is always cooked to perfection. I cannot wait until they open! My family and I got take out tonight and were super pleased with everything! The food was still hot even after a 15 min drive home and everything tasted fresh and delicious. Their menu is FULL of tasty & unique items; I definitely had trouble choosing just one entree! We ended up getting the penne vodka, chicken martini, the chicken bruschetta and the zeppoles. Absolutely delicious. I can't wait to try more menu items. Please open soon!! Edit: They also had the MOST inclusive Italian menu options I have ever seen for someone that eats gluten free. Chatterbox was a nice spot to pop into before heading over to the theater nearby. Cute interior and more spacious than you would think. I will say, we went in the winter and the insulation of the dining area was not good. We spent the whole meal freezing which is uncomfortable. For the number of staff in the place, the services was also so-so. We got sat and asked for a few minutes to look over the drink menu and didn't see our waitress again for 15 minutes. Then we had a wait boy filling out waters every 10 seconds, which can be nice if timed properly but he hovered the table--give us a few minutes to enjoy ourselves. Then he'd go missing when our glasses actually did sit empty for a long period of time. The appetizers are a must-get. The bacon wrapped shrimp is delicious and the sauce it comes in is even better. The muscles were tender and a little bit spicy and very good. The mashed potatoes are phenomenal. Skip the meatballs, nothing special about them and save room for everything else. Everyone felt pretty mediocre about their main dishes. Overall, nice for a drink and an app and convenient location but don't have super high expectations. read more

Ok, I was a little apprehensive because we loved the restaurant that was located in this spot previously. Didn't want to be disappointed and I am full Italian heritage. From when we arrived, it was an A++. The restaurant was warm and inviting and the wait staff top notch. The food?? We started with grilled calamari which was perfection and 4 of us shared the Caesar Salad which was also plentiful and delicious. Our entrees were above expectation and the Filet of Sole Marechiara I ordered was cooked beyknd delicious. The Chicken Scarpiarello dinner also amazing and we ordered that as pizza as well. You can't go wrong with that pizza. The fourth dinner was salmon and couscous and it was sublime. I'm trying to find something negative bc I know Yelp likes a balanced review, but there just wasn't anything negative! It was a Tuesday night and not crowded so I imagine with the tables being so close together that it might be uncomfortable on a weekend. I did not like the Open Table reservation process where Chatterbox required a credit card, told us we could have the table for 1 hour 45 minutes and might be charged $10 per person for canceling less than 24 hours. I'm old school and that put me off a bit to where I almost didn't complete the process. Glad I did though. read more

Chatterbox is a recent transplant to Pleasantville from Briarcliff. Our meal there was terrific, the staff was attentive and the alfresco, sidewalk table, while not on the loveliest of streets, was wonderful. Here is my complaint. When we got the bill of several hundred dollars, there was stealthy added credit card fee of nearly $15. I see this growing trend of adding back the cost of taking credit cards, which makes zero sense to me- if the restaurant did not take credit cards, they would have missed our business entirely- especially given the cost. So I urge the management at Chatterbox (and other businesses) to reconsider this practice, and stop making credit card use an additional expense. We have a choice where to spend our money and business which engage in this practice might see increasingly less of it. For now, what would have been a 4-4.5 star review is 3. This practice is so easy to fix and makes so much sense to discontinue, I urge you to do so asap. read more

Chatterbox has a great atmosphere and even better food! Service could've been a little better. We didn't enjoy ordering off of their iPads at all, but the food makes up for it. It gets very crowded on weekends so be sure to book a reservation at least a day or two before if you have a group of 4+. Reminder, it's called Chatterbox for a reason! It gets very loud so expect to be speaking a bit more loudly than usual. read more

Perhaps partly due to early growing pains we found Chatterbox to be a "dime a dozen" disappointment. Our shared starter of Fried Calamari proved to be rubbery - its marinara sauce forgetful. The "Bada Bing" sandwich (chicken cutlet / mozzarella / peppers) was large in size but short in taste. The fries were enjoyed. The Cajun Chicken Wrap - which was fine - could certainly have be more spicy. Our waitress was a bit over the top asking if we wanted a second glass of wine while our first was half full. We found the online menu to be cumbersome. Hopefully paper menus will be in place soon. Overall - Nothing to talk about here... read more

I've been meaning to try Chatterbox for a while. The menu looked great, but the opportunity never presented itself. That changed today when I visited for lunch with a friend. The menu was a challenge -- so many great options, so many price points, so many different Italian-style tastes. I was thinking about keeping it light with a salad, but then I decided to indulge, so I ordered the halibut. The serving was huge, which I appreciated because it helped me justify spending $42 on my lunch, which happened to also be my dinner with the leftovers. The fillet is covered with thin-sliced potatoes and pan-fried in a piccata-adjacent sauce (think buttery, lemony, and just briney enough) and served with a simple mound of mashed potatoes and spinach. Had I been alone and less dignified, I could have licked the plate. Instead, like I said, I took home more than half the fish for dinner. The service was really great, the atmosphere was cozy and unpretentious. There was a table of older gentlemen -- one of whom I assume was an owner or manager -- and their banter and energy really added to the experience. Omg so good I had the lobster ravioli delicious my daughter had the veal Marsala so she loved it. My son had the rigatoni Ragu sauce spicy. He also shared shrimp wrapped in bacon very good daughter-in-law add salmon she said it was delicious. We also share the sliced potatoes with the Schiaparelli sauce. Horrible customer service by the Owner/Manager! I had gone there many times and enjoyed the food and service. However, yesterday a friend and I went there around 4:30 for an early birthday dinner and cocktails and after two hours was asked by the owner/manager to give up my table for other patrons! We spent two hundred dollars and was hoping to enjoy some dessert and coffee as well but again was told that we were there too long! I have never heard of this and when I walked over to quietly discuss with the owner/manager, not only did he say again that we were there too long, but they cleared our table with drinks and all! Don't plan on spending time with family and friends here- he was obviously watching us the whole time to make sure he could make even more money- not provide the service that he should! read more

Ordered curbside but had to go in to pick up which I had turned out was at the bar so that could have all been smoother. More importantly the food was just ok. Terrible restaurant. Even though it has extensive menu, all the food we tried was awful (Lasagna, Ceasar salad, Chiken Parm). The tables are extremely small, this place is noisy like hell, crowded by 20 somethings, and families celebrating bdays for their chubby 8 years olds. You have to listen to "Happy Birthday" song every 15 minutes. On top of this - they don't have printed menus, you have scan QR code with your phone. On a plus side - big selections of drinks (alcohol). All in all - this is not a restaurant, this is kind of Sportscasters bar for college kids. read more

What a great addition Chatterbox is to our local restaurant community. They are only offering takeout at the moment while awaiting their liquor license, but everything we ordered tasted fantastic, from classic Italian dishes like eggplant parm to fresh twists on favorites like the pasta a la cugine. The inside of the restaurant looks bright and inviting as well. Best of all, Chatterbox has taken extra steps to be able to offer many of their items gluten free. As a celiac I cannot often find opportunities for a breaded Italian-style chicken cutlet, so it was a real treat to be able to order this. I am hopeful that as the restaurant grows they will be able to get GF bread or wraps to be able to sell many of the delicious looking lunch sandwiches GF as well. Overall an excellent experience. I have been multiple times and always enjoy my food. Food is always fresh and hot and very good. Portions are huge. Last night I ordered Chicken Parm alla vodka and the chicken came out in marinara sauce (pasta was in vodka sauce on a separate plate). When I mentioned it to the waitress she argued that it was vodka sauce but said they'd make a new one. A minute later our original waiter comes back with the plate that was just taken away, sets it down in front of me and begins to argue that it's vodka sauce on the chicken and the lighting was making it look different. I showed him the 2 sauces on their own on the same plate side by side. It was definitely 2 different sauces (they tasted different too) and he still continued to argue. Eventually he said they'd make a new one. Less than 2 minutes later they bring the plate out - it was the same plate of chicken where they just scraped off the marinara sauce and dumped vodka sauce on top. At this point it wasn't going to do anything other than annoy the waiter even more so I didn't say anything. Just didn't like the way the situation was handled.
