We had our water heater bust on us and we gave them a call. Gabriel was in the area leaving a job and about to go home but he turned around and checked it out even though it was past normal working hours. He came back the next day with a brand new tank and installed it with us not even being there. We had a prior engagement with my sons baseball team, he said no problem we do not need to access the inside of the house (since our tank was on the outside) just give us a call when you get back and we'll do final review of the work and finish up with service then. I had an issue with rusted nuts and bolts attached to a toilet seat and riser that I could not remove with a hacksaw or pliers. I received a reply from Gabriel who assured me he could fix my problem after I sent photos of the toilet in question. Although Gabriel arrived late, he kept in contact with me so I wouldn't worry. After Gabriel arrived, he quickly got to work and sawed off the bolts. He had to visit a local hardware store and buy new 3/8" bolts and then he installed the new toilet seat along with the existing riser. Gabriel did an awesome job and I'm grateful I hired a pro. The price was a little more than I expected but worth saving me headaches. I'm a happy customer. read more

I had an issue with my shower and tried unclogging it myself using different liquids from Home Depot and using the snake. After hours of no luck, I decided to go on Yelp and look for a company that had great reviews and not too pricey. I came across 3 companies and wrote to each. Chavez Plumbing wrote back to me almost instantly. They gave me a price to unclog the shower drain but when they got here, it was more complicated than just the shower drain. They ended up unclogging the shower, and the drains under the house. While my wife started to worry about how much this could potentially cost us, they didn't charge us more than they said they would. They are great and worked really fast! They were done in an hour. My igniter on my water heater wasn't working. Called this company for a free estimate. I pass on what the SoCal gas company said, the gas control valve is not functioning at 100%, that is why the flame goes off once in a while, 3x in two months. But we were able to re ignite it, then the igniter went bad. The plumber said $275 to replace the whole gas control valve unit. The unit is $165 on Amazon. So labor is $110. I then also ask about redoing my vent pipes, plumber said $125 to just inspect it, no work done, just take a look. WHAT?? It is just pipes, all within hands reach, not some complex system like electrical diagram/circuitry hidden or hard to get to. Then I asked for a written estimate for the vent and control valve. The plumber said "no written estimate, just verbal'" his words. For the time being, I ordered the igniter switch from Amazon for $4, took out the old, put the new one in, works like magic. But I called a 5 star plumbing company to inspect the vent and gas control valve later this week and see what they say. read more

I would like to thank Jr. for his kind service yesterday. Rapid action. The firth place I called closed to my area in Lawndale. I then called Chavez pluming and phone was immediately answered by Jr. who was cheerful and was able to schedule within a few hours, sooner than the other place to help with our toilet and shower drain problem. He even took time to have me share the problem i observed and provided a quote if toilet did not need to be removed. He asked me to simply text him my name, address and appointment time we agreed on. When he arrived he greeted me kindly, I showed him to the bathroom with the drain issues, and he did his best to try using his metal snake machine to get through the old drains of the house from the side of the outside of the house to try to save on money.
