First part of this review is about 12 months tardy. Reviewing 2 different service calls about 12 months apart, (young) Mike and Rafael Last year we had extensive plumbing work done on our house - all horizontal drain pipes under our house but started out with fairly minor laundry room new drain and water lines. I had 3 plumbers give me quotes for the laundry room (work needed under house discovered right before job was started). The short story of the first 2 quotes: 1st quote (NexGen HVAC & plumbing), the price was outrageous and definitely warranted another quote so I scheduled two more. The second quote ( was with Stephen's Plumbing and Heating), the plumber arrived late after the 3 hour window and wouldn't even give me a free quote unless I paid him $100 to go under my house to inspect my plumbing. (Young) Mike the plumber with True Flow showed up on time and called me to ask if he should wait for Stephen's to leave. I apologized for them still being there to which he didn't mind at all. He waited til the 2nd plumber left and came, wearing a mask. (I was 8 months pregnant and high risk for COVID, wearing a mask myself so I appreciated not having to ask him like I did the other plumbers). Mike was straightforward, I didn't feel like he was trying to rip me off or upswell me, and he even offered to do a small part of the job for free since we are an active duty military family. We decided to go with him after he sent us a quote. He started soon after. Unfortunately when he went under the house before he started the job (at our behest to get full scope of potential issues), he found a big issue that would soon need immediate attention - leaking cast iron drain pipes. He recommended we do that work soon as it could be a much larger issue soon with hazmat cleanup needed and after he finished the initial job, he gave us a quote for 2nd job under house with a credit for the work already done towards this bigger job if we did it soon. We did and unfortunately the job turned out to be even more expensive than initially expected due to the placement of the drain pipes under the house but it was all done relatively quickly. While the work was being done we had access to some of the plumbing most of the time although there were a few stretches of time where we couldn't use any drains. Fast forward to today. My grandparents that live in LA told me their water heater went out and their warranty had just expired 3 months ago. I told them I would replace their water heater. I checked on Lowe's for water heaters and selected install and submitted my info for a plumber in their service area to contact me. That plumber contacted me and scheduled a visit next business day and I got a call from the plumber after his visit with a quote. He was hostile when I asked for a breakdown as I was surprised that it was going to be so much money considering the water heater was just 1/5 of that total price. I then decided to call True Flow to see if they serviced that neighborhood & asked for a quote. The phone guy let me know that there was availability Saturday but after asking for same day as it is winter and my grandparents have no hot water, he was going to try to switch some stuff around and get my grandparents taken care of same day. He called me back quickly and scheduled a quote for an hour from the call. Rafael showed up for the service call. Rafael called me when complete & told me that the problem was fixed, no replacement was needed at this time. Flabbergasted, I asked what the issue was and he let me know it was just a simple gas line check, and the water heater fired back up, no problem. Rafael saved me easily $2k, and I am so grateful that he was honest and serviced the call... My Christmas angel! I'd recommend True Flow Plumbing 100% and will go with them again if I need more plumbing work done. read more

He identified the root problem being in the common pipe quickly (I live in a condominium), then helped me to get HOA's management company involved and even helped me communicate with my neighbors and HOA's plumbing company. I had an urgent repair and called so many different plumbers who were not available until days later. I could not wait days given there was a huge tropical storm scheduled to hit Southern California and I had a cracked pipe. Rafael and his team's schedules were booked, but Rafael understood the urgency of the repair and moved things around to come the following day before the storm to repair the pipe. We had some flooring work done and needed to reinstall a toilet, etc. Miguel/Mike was personable and nice when we met him for the estimate and he gave a competitive bid. However, once we hired him, he then said he didn't notice something when he came for the estimate and needed to increase the price. He did lower that increase $50 when we raised concerns, but the new price was still quite a bit higher than the original estimate, which impacted our original decision in choosing the company. Sadly, what bothered us the most is the final job wasn't done well. The toilet isn't sitting flat on the floor. It isn't balanced and rocks. We asked him about the gap from toilet to floor and we weren't satisfied with his response (he said tightening more would crack the porcelain and didn't give any other solutions). So now we are in the process of finding someone to fix the issue. More money and time wasted. Also, he tried to sell us a water softening system a few times without us asking about it. Based on another review that said the company wasn't helpful with fixing their Halo after installation, I would be incredibly hesitant to have them install the system in our home. We enjoyed working with Mike but are very disappointed with the work. Update: After leaving the original review, Mike reached out to us and offered to improve the experience we had with them. We were able to work out getting a partial refund. We appreciated how Mike reached out to make things better and therefore are increasing the rating. read more

Recently purchased the Halo 5 prior to installation this team was very responsive. Once my water system was installed I never heard from them again. Especially when I had issues with my system. When I was able to get in contact with someone and scheduled a service I was told they would contact me a week prior to confirm the time. When my appointment date approached I did not get a call nor a follow up. I reached out and left messages with no response. Mike and Rafael did a great job on repairing a water leak inside the slab for my house. Initially the job seemed to be trivial, but it became tricky since the pipe was soft copper and pretty much dinged up. They had to dig up the slap deeper to trace the pipe so that they can get to a cleanly connectable portion of the pipe. Even though the job turned out to be harder than they initially estimated, they did not ask for more money and kept working hard to finish the job. Mike also did great on explaining the status of the job along the way so that I can easily understand what's going on. They just started their business this year and seem to be honest and hard-working young people. They promptly responded, showed up on time, and kept their promises. I've been following True Flow Plumbing on instagram and liked their work, so when I finally had a plumbing issue I reached out. I got an immediate response and an estimate done the next day. Toilet had a leak coming from the base, so the tech recommended replacing the wax ring. Unfortunately, the tech noticed an issue where the toilet meets the tile floor, it had grout instead of the usual caulking. The tech was honest and upfront, options were most likely replacing the toilet due to unlikelihood of being able to remove the grout and not damage/break the porcelain. The temporary option was to caulk over the grout seam that the leak was coming out of to hold me over. Due to time constraints I went with the latter, but the honesty and recommendations were appreciated and on point. I am definitely calling them back for other jobs and most-likely following up with that toilet replacement. Good stuff guys! read more

We noticed that our main line was backed up on a Friday afternoon around 4pm. We started calling plumbers on Yelp to help! We needed to have our line hydro-jetted stat! Every company we called was going to be nearly a thousand bucks and they wouldn't be able to come out until Monday or Tuesday. Well, when we called True Flow, they were considerably less expensive, and they could come out within an hour and a half. After the plumber arrived, he worked quickly and even included a camera view of the tree roots that were causing our problem. He had our plumbing situation fixed by 6pm!
