This was my first visit...I had the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich & a few beers for lunch. The waitress was awesome...the sandwich was awesome and I mean crispy, tasty and HUGE! Restaurant does not understand what its customers want. I wanted something small, not a giant $12-15 salad that won't travel well if I only eat half. Everything on the menu is fried with very little exception. A couple came in and sat behind us and wanted a soup and salad combo. They don't offer that. Like us, that couple almost left the restaurant but decided to stay. Suggestions: offer smaller plates for seniors, offer more healthy options. Visited this location on 06/27/2024 at 4:30 pm this was our first visit to this restaurant we were greeted nicely at the entrance and seated promptly we asked for a booth and we were seated in the bar area next to what appeared to be an employee's entrance and service station, although the restaurant had plenty of open booth seating this location was very annoying as employees were constantly entering and exiting so beware! We were greeted by Kristin our server and ordered our meals a rack of ribs dinner and a grill rib eye steak dinner, the dinners arrived and both dinners was nicely presented, rib dinner could served warmer but was very tender and tasty the steak dinner was great but it was served with Montreal seasoning and I wished I had known that when ordering, it was not mentioned on the menu as I would have asked for the steak without the seasoning, that said the steak was cooked perfectly medium and served with a loaded baked potato and a great Caesar salad. Kristin came by to check on us and we did mention the cool temperature on the ribs and she immediately offered to get another order but my wife declined, a few minutes later the manager stop by and also ask to reserve the dish, as we were half way through our dinner we thanked her but again declined, I did ask her about the seasoning on the steak and she stated we get that question a lot they should definitely address this issue, this was also a problem for the Outback steak house when they first opened and they finally adjusted the menu so steaks could be ordered with or without seasoning . Kristin was a great server friendly, timely and not intrusive I would return to Cheddar's because of how well she represented them!! Great job! When we got the bill the manager had given us a 10% discount although necessary thank you. Little tip ask customer if this is there first time at cheddars and if it is try not to seat in what is probably the worst seat in the house....just saying, so in closing the restaurant was clean, the food had a few hiccups, the staff and service was great and we will return again! We've been now a few times and here's how we'd rate this place. 4.5 stars for the food; 3-3.5 stars for the service; 5 stars for their management. Food wise, the food is really good and doesn't really taste any different than Cheddar's was before they changed to "Scratch Kitchen." Waiter/waitress has been is average or below average at best. Other servers (folks that bring appetizers/food, etc.) have been great which is why I rate a little higher. Management has been fantastic. Recognizing on their own that our service had been sub par without us saying a word. Apologizing and offering to cover our appetizer or dessert if we wanted was unexpected and much appreciated. Perhaps we were just unfortunate recipients of poor wait staff on our visits thus far, but it's hardly a reason to not return. The atmosphere is nice and the food is really good. What the wait staff may lack, the management may make up for. Certainly give Cheddar's a try if you haven't already. read more

Cheddars has an inviting feel but the food seemed very low quality and low in taste. This was my second visit to a Cheddars, both times I stuck to their boxed in fan faves and in both instances I had wished I had eaten somewhere else. I stopped in for first time. Husband had eaten there said it was ok . Saw a picture on website of herb chicken and was interested. when we walked in there were two hostesses and many empty tables.They said we'd have to wait. When we asked why? she said so servers aren't overwhelmed. We asked if we could wait at a table instead of lobby, she said no, servers wouldn't like it ! Then both young hostesses were rolling silverware. Touching surfaces eaten off of, no gloves or handwashing after touching menus EVERYONE has touched, their phones, their hair etc. We got up and left, they really showed no cares. I am very disappointed in this place! We will not return for lunch time because of the very poor service. The restaurant is only a few minutes from my workplace, and I have been here multiple times for lunch. At work we get an hour for lunch so I'm careful to get in quickly, get seated, and order all my food right away. After the last two times eating here we have decided that we will not return. If you are a working professional, pick another place to go so you aren't 25 minutes late getting back to work. Both times we had the same server, Gabe. The first time we were celebrating for one of the girls in the office. Six of us were seated in a booth. When he put the tray of drinks down on the table he knocked one over and it spilled all over one of my coworkers and half way on me. The service of slow, scattered, and generally just bad that day. Nothing was done about the mistake, and the coworker had to drive all the way home past Tampa in order to change and missed half of a workday. We decided to just let it go because mistakes happen. It seemed appropriate to have some understanding at the time. Today, my boyfriend and I came in for lunch at about 12:00 pm. We were seated by the host and the manager within only a few minutes of arriving. Both of them are quite lovely and we are happy with them. We ordered our drinks, an appetizer, and our meals immediately to avoid any type of delay. When the server brought my coffee out he still spilled it all over the cup and saucer. I wiped it off and just ignored it. It seemed appropriate to have some understanding again. When our appetizers came out we asked the runner, not our server, if we could have some napkins. He acknowledged and then never came back with napkins. Our server checked in with us twice between 12:00pm and 12:51pm when I finally asked for him to make my food to go because I needed to get back to work. I ordered a salad with shrimp and my boyfriend ordered a cheese burger so 45 minutes is a very long time to be waiting for these two meals. Close to 1:00pm I finally asked to speak to a manager, at this point I'm going to be late getting back to work. The manager explained that the order was put in 13 minutes ago. He brought the food out within a few minutes, and we were on our way. I'm not sure exactly where the breakdown in communication was today. I'm guessing the server forgot to put our order in despite checking in with us twice which seems inconceivable. If you value getting back to work on time, then try for another restaurant at lunchtime. I have had three other servers here before who were all prompt and lovely. Not sure why the stars are so low on this place. Everything near perfect. Only complaint I have is the bar area lighting is to bright. I asked if the bartender could turn it down and he said it was controlled by corporate. So if anyone from corporate can read this and make your customers happy by turning the lights down, please do so. Anyways as far as the food goes five stars all the way. We got the queso and chips for an appetizer. Love the chips! I got the bourbon glazed salmon and can't say how good it was enough. We celebrated my husband's birthday and he even sang by himself in Portuguese. He had us laughing. He was sharp and entertaining! Made sure we had drinks and our food was good. I have to start by saying this location on Roosevelt Blvd in Largo has real good food. The back of house are rock stars, this coming from a retired Executive Chef who has been in the business since 1980. I know what these warriors go through day in and day out. But when it come to the front of house it's an absolute train wreck. When you call to place a to go or curbside order it takes up to 7 minutes for someone to pickup the phone, then you have to be connected to the takeout area that takes several more minutes to be waited on. After working a 14 hour day I went through the long wait to place my order. I was told it would be ready in 20-25 minutes, I arrived 5 minutes or so before the order was said to be ready. After waiting almost 40 minutes I had to call back twice because nobody answered the phone. Mind you the restaurant was not busy it was after 9pm on a Sunday. I was one of three cars waiting for curbside. Two people had to walk inside to get their orders and what they were taking about on the way out wasn't very pleasant, they were very perturbed. The second time I had to call I spoke to the manager on duty and expressed my frustration with a wait and lack of customer service in a prompt and timely manner. Speaking with conviction and frustration and annunciation in my voice the untrained and unprofessional manager became very defensive and argumentative, instead of caring about a customer that frequently orders from this property, and spending roughly $700 a month. A professional would have gone over and above to rectify this situation and to get to the bottom of why I had to wait so long and to not take responsibility to get the host and to go staff to answer the phone in a timely manner.Instead I was made to feel it was my fault and I was in the wrong. I was also told that I was not welcome back to this property. Never in all my years in the industry have I ever been so disrespected. If the Corporate office new this is how the front of house treats it's customers I think people would have to find other means of employment. I myself had to dismiss several people over the years for such behavior, it's uncalled for. Being in this industry you need to be on your A game at all times. Because the establishment needs the customer, the customer doesn't need them, their are a million and one other restaurants that would love to get our business. I hate to say it but beware of this location. They have no sense of urgency no sense of hospitality to take care of the customers issues, that can be eliminated expeditiously if the staff was trained properly and managed properly with accountability and consequences. If I could give this place ZERO stars I would! My husband and I recently ate at this establishment today for this first time. I saw a couple of Tik-Tok reviews hyping the place up but I guess this should have been my first red flag. Between the two of us we had fried shrimp (husbands), chicken tenders (husbands), and their broccoli cheddar casserole (mine), steak(mine) , and fries along with a frozen margarita. We originally had to send the margarita back because the first one tasted like the "bartender" mixed salt and spit together and threw it in a cup. We continued to eat our meal but the food was nothing to be thrilled about. Just a glorified Golden Corral. We originally went for the buttered croissants which were advertised to us as complimentary but later learned only the first round is. We probably made it through half our meal before my Husband started complaining about his stomach hurting and started looking very uncomfortable. We got to the parking lot before he raced to the Wawa next door and ran for the bathroom. He spent about 45 mins in there until I went to go check on him to learn he was vomiting everything we just ate up. I managed to get him out the bathroom and into the car. He was to weak to barley get in our suburban. I also had to drive home. It was a very scary situation because I've never seen him like this. When we finally got to our home he couldn't even make it out the car before he started to get sick again. There our $70 meal was sitting in our driveway. Real Happy New Years. Im writing this about an hour and a half after the incident. My husband is still on the bathroom floor throwing his heart up and trying to muster enough energy to get into the car so we can make it to the ER. Im obviously very upset that we will be spending our new years like this so I called Cheddars back to not only warn them something in their food is bad but to also explain our horrific first experience at their establishment. When I called I was greeted as I I was inconveniencing THEM?!? I was then passed around until the phone landed on some manger named "Trish". Trish's only "condolences" were to contact the store if "something comes of" our hospital visit and chalked my Husbands sickness up to the "flu". We live close by and used to love the Cheddar's in Mt. Juliet were we use to live. It's Friday night so obviously very crowded. They sat us in section that has 2 parties in it. One table with about 10 people, and the other with about 18. Experience (as a patron and working at restaurants) tells me that, other than the obvious noise, food quality drops drastically when that happens as cooks struggle to get all the food out for that table at the same time, and other orders are either rushed through, or die in the window as they are ignored being the mountain of plates for the party. This is a good test of a kitchen, but let's keep an open mind. Our waitress Tiffany was very nice, friendly and helpful. She said she would put our order in before party which she did. Very nice. We ordered the Texas cheese fries, and the grown up grilled cheese. I usually have the Monte Cristo but wanted to try something new. Had a Caesar salad for my side. We ordered before the big party so our food got out fast. The Texas cheese fries were great as expected. No complaints there. The grilled cheese had roast beef in it, which tasted very bland and over cooked. The worst part was the cheese. It was sliced cheese which was by far not high end to say the least. Caesar salad was fine. Not bad, not great. The croissant on salad was awesome and sadly the best part of the meal. Not sure we will return. First time here. It was recommended by a friend. Good friendly service. Icing covered rolls were unique & quite good. Glad they only served one per guest. I could have filled up on these rolls. But then I'd have missed the entree. I had the roasted lemon chicken over rice. The chicken was tender and seasoned to perfection. For a chain restaurant, Chedders is top tier. Way better than expected. I'm not a big "eat out" person, but next time I get the urge, I definitely keep Chedders as an option. read more

I've been to this location before without too much issue besides slow service. It was a bit bothersome but the deliciousness of the food made up for it. I'm sad to report that my recent visit here was beyond disappointing. Upon entering we were greeted by a stressed and angry looking hostess, no smile or how are you. That's okay, maybe she was having a bad day, no biggie. Once we finally get seated and have our waitress out she forgot our appetizer, when we gave her our menu orders she asked us two more times what it was to be clear and kept saying shes "spaced out today". My drink came out really weak which was disappointing because she told me it's supposed to be one of the strongest on the menu but it just tasted sweet and syrupy. Once the orders came, they got my fiancé's wrong and gave him a completely different meal. He was hungry by the long wait at this point so he just ate it. When the waitress was handing me my plate she dropped a chicken tender from the plate to the tray and PICKED IT UP with her acrylic fingernails and threw it back on the plate. I was horrified. I have to say, the one saving grace was that the food was good as always. While this isnt a perfect restaurant it is sometimes the only thing that hits the spot. They overload everything with cheese if they can and while unhealthy it is very comforting. Of the cheese soaked appetizer options, we chose the spinach dip. I think they topped it with Asiago or a similar cheese, it was hard to stop eating. They have so many options on the menu. They perhaps have too many sides, and most of them are really flavorful. I had the shepherds pie recently, and while I love anything savory, it was too much. I LOVE salt and they overdid it somehow. In the potatoes, in the beef. It was falling apart and way too runny. Our server however was fantastic, honestly she should be working at a 5 star restaurant. First time at this establishment and it was literally a perfect evening. Our server Manny did a wonderful job. He was very knowledgeable, personable, and professional. He made great recommendations. Our cheese curds came out perfect, we loved that there was a little eye spy game on the wrapper underneath. The honey butter was to die for. I ordered a steak rare and it came out just like I ordered and was seasoned perfectly. My boyfriend got the New Orleans pasta and it was so creamy and packed with flavor. Every time I pass by Cheddar's it's always packed! I had to check it out myself. I believe I went on a Sunday and yes, it was packed for lunch time. The service was good and the server's attitude was excellent! The food isn't the type of food I really enjoy, heavy and fried food.. average American food. The flavors isn't that bad, but I did find the pasta to be too salty. The onion rings were highly suggested and I don't even like onion rings, but these were so light and crispy! Delicious and they are also super cheap for such a large pile. The Shepard's pie was average and the Cajun pasta was pretty good, but too salty for me. The serving was a large size. I must have to say! The drinks were pretty cheap! If I were to return I would definitely go for the drinks and appetizers. read more

To die for croissants, huge portions, pretty good food, this place is a solid 4. We got there around 5:30 p.m. on a Friday and this place was packed! It was absolutely filled with people over the age of 60. There is a huge group of benches outside that you can sit while you wait. It was nice. You must get a croissant with your meal. It is delicious. It is buttery, honey soaked goodness. I ate mine then I ate half of a friends. I got the Vegetable Plate which I loved! It is under the salads, but it is not a salad. You get a choice of a soup and then four sides plus a croissant. Best. Idea. Ever. I love having a variety of food and this allowed me to try four different sides and a soup. I got the potato soup and it came with bacon and cheese drizzled on it. I loved it. For my sides I got the loaded baked potato, the coleslaw, the broccoli cheese casserole, and the baked beans and rice. There was almost no rice in the baked beans and rice. Plus it was spicy. I ended up not eating it. The baked potato was fine, but I probably would not get it again. I liked the coleslaw, but the real winner was the broccoli casserole. Absolutely delicious. Next time I would consider getting two servings of that. I was stuffed after my meal. This is definitely a place I want to come back to to try other menu items! read more

The parking lot was full, so that usually bodes well for a place. But immediately upon entering, the sharp screech of a child greeted my ears, so when we were sat, we were sat in the bar/lounge area. That was fine (for the most part) as it was quieter over all. The bar wasn't terribly busy, but we still waited about 8 minutes until someone came by and told us they'd be right with us, first a woman and then a guy. The guy came back and took our drink orders and let us know that the bartender would be our Waitress. She came back in a moment or so and took our order for apps and mains. We ordered chips and homemade queso - with ground beef added for free, the home made (uh, more like shipped from Sysco) chicken pot pie and a bacon cheese burger. Our chips and queso came out very quickly, and they added a -LOT- of ground beef to the dip. So much so that it almost over powered the cheese. Still, it had great flavor, the chips were fresh and the salsa was both spicy and tasty. When we were more than 1/2 way done, the bartender said she'd bring us more chips, we waved her off, we didn't really need more. She also brought out my salad with the chips, and that's great, it was a fresh salad with romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, some shredded carrots and croutons. I don't remember asking for Ranch dressing, but that's what I got, and it was on the side, just like I like it. It also came with a honey croissant ala Hops (YUM!) We chatted and munched our way through this part of the meal, as the room seemed to grow colder and colder. We weren't the only ones to notice the temperature drop. The table behind me complained, asking them to bump it up. Apparently they keep it cold in the lounge because the main room gets REALLY hot if the ac in the lounge goes off. It was -so- cold that there was condensation forming on the AC vent and dripping on me, on my seat and thigh. What fun. Our mains came out and as I said, they advertise that their Chicken Pot Pie is homemade, but it's most certainly frozen and re-heated. This is not made in house, but its still tasty. The cheese burger was large and topped well, though the fries were paltry and meh looking to my eyes. Our waitress was attentive, but the temperature difference was too much. My hands were so cold they were aching. When we left we could tell how MUCH of a difference there was between the foyer and the bar area, a good 10-15 degrees. They really should put some effort into fixing that. It made it VERY uncomfortable to be in there for more than 15-20 minutes. read more
