I don't eat here often because the food is good but the service is always bad. Tonight I sat at the bar alone and ordered a blue moon. My beer literally dripped from the foam all the way to the table and the bar tender didn't offer me a beverage napkin and I had to ask her for a food menu 10 minutes later. Quick story, I'm not a fancy food person so Please take this with a grain of salt. For food that's made from scratch , two things come to my mind, fresh and delicious. This however was not the case . Went there last night with wife. We both ordered steak combos, hers a 6oz. Steak and shrimp combo and mines a 8oz. steak and ribs. Let's pause here. Before our food even came out our waiter was switched to someone else who remained nameless while serving us. She was nice but kept leaning in way to close for mine and my wife comfort while taking our order. As soon as our food touched the table we had issues. First thing we noticed was that my steak was the same size if not smaller than my wife's. I said something to the young lady who brought out our food who was not our server and she agreed that yes a mistake was made and took the steak back right away. Our waiter bought back the same steak and asked what was wrong then took it in the back to be changed only to be sent back out to us with the same steak by her manager who told her to tell us the steak would not be changed. During this time the attitude our waiter changed to a nasty and unprofessional excuse of a server. It was at this time we noticed that while not only was my ribs cold but even had a hair on them. During this time my wife's complete order never came out. Most of the staff needs to be retrained in customer service and relations. I would give Cheddars in Fayetteville FIve Stars... the food is good (For the price)... However, our waiter charged my girlfriend and I 30.00 (Correctly), and two other charges. One of the charges 'disappeared' from my bank statement, the other was charged to my account. I have been told my management that this was a 'computer glitch' (Our waiter did take a very long time processing our bill) I went on a Friday; it is next Thursday and I still have not received my refund. Don't waste your time. This was Cheddar's second and last chance to impress me and sadly they didn't meet my standards. More than 10 servers just standing around chit chatting, employees on their cell phones in the very back of the restaurant hiding in the back booth. Female employee standing and texting in the handicap bathroom when an older lady was waiting to push her elderly mom. I had to knock for them and she still stood there! After a long wait my son's order arrived and it was the wrong order. Beef in his grilled cheese?! Raw chicken tenders and a very dry/hard waffle. After I informed the server of the pink chicken she was very nice about it. Manager came to talk to us, took it off our tab but nothing else. He seemed annoyed and didn't believe me. My husband's salad never arrived and when his roast beef finally arrived after we were all done eating. When he did arrive he had a plate of watery, pale gravy, hard celery, carrots and huge crudely cut onions. The prices are great and the portions are generous but the time you wait for your food is not worth it. If you have young kids come prepared with some entertainment, there isn't a fun kids menu to draw on or crayons. The restaurant is nicely decorated inside but upon further inspection there is a lot of dust of the blinds and wear n tear for such a new restaurant. Lastly it has a 92.0 percent restaurant sanitation rating, I've been a few 100 percents around Fayetteville so I don't think a 92 is a good thing. read more

Drinks and appetizer (Santa Fe spinach dip) were decent. We waited for over an hour for our food to come out! The waiter was absolutely amazing and checked on us the entire time we waited for our food. After waiting for at least one hour and 20 the waiter gave us our food! To my much bigger disappointment , my food was cold as if it was sitting out for the past hour instead of being placed at my table. We waited for the manager to come over which took another 20 minutes and she was cold and gave a meaningless sorry and moved on to the next table of complaints. It sucks that I'm having to leave this review, but I think that I should tell everyone about this specific experience. My husband and I are celebrating our 2-year wedding anniversary today, but I don't feel well. We decided to order "nicer" food to have at home together for a night in. He gets home and opens the food and it isn't our food. I try to call to tell them what happened, but I was placed on hold for 10+ minutes, all while he was heading up there. I wanted to make sure they knew the situation so the food was ready when he got there. So I hang up and call again and the manager answers. I tell them the whole thing. Our food wasn't ours and its our wedding anniversary and my husband is going back and forth across town to exchange the food. The manager this implies that my husband was told repeatedly that it wasn't his food and he took it anyway. I know my husband, and he wouldn't just take the food if it wasn't ours, partially because he knows it means driving across town again. The manager claimed to me on the phone that the girl who was at the bar giving him the order had told him it wasn't his, but my husband said she gave it to him and no one ever came after him to tell him it wasn't his. I'm writing this as he is going up there, so I don't know if they will compensate us in any way. I know that people take advantage of the system and will complain to get free food or whatever. But come on! It is our anniversary and we haven't gotten to spend any time together after work because of this. Something should be done, and the manager shouldn't blame the customer... PS: Last time we ate there in person was on a Sunday after church. Two younger guys were standing outside of the kitchen in the dining area swearing with a little girl and her grandparents (dressed for church) were sitting beside us. We made a reservation for a party of 20 at 4:30. Some of us arrived early and were told by the hostess that we could not be seated until our 4:30 reservation. Weird since the place was pretty empty, but okay. Then at 4:30 the hostess told us we could not be seated until over half of our party was present. At this point there were 10 of us there. When one more of our party showed up, we asked about being seated. She said she would check to see if the server was ready, but when she came back she said the manager said we could not be seated until all 20 of our party had arrived. So, this doesn't make any sense and there are a dozen of us crowded in their lobby. When we asked for an explanation, the hostess says something about the server being able to take everyone's order at the same time. We try to explain that we don't have to order right away and that we're not sure if all 20 in our group are going to show up. She just keeps repeating that the manager said not until all 20 are there. So, we ask to speak to the manager. She calls the manager, and then tells us he is busy in the kitchen and can't come out. So, now most of the group is grumbling about leaving and some of us start trying to contact the people who are missing to see if they are coming. Then the manager shows up, and you can tell he has a chip on his shoulder right away. A couple of people in our party try to talk to him, and he accuses them of yelling at him, which they were not! He tells several of the group that they are rude, and at that point we were done and all walked out. As we were were leaving, the manager almost seemed happy to see us go. What kind of business model is that?! We went a couple doors down to Joe's Crab Shack, where they welcomed us and quickly pulled tables together for our group. Obviously Joe's Crab Shack wanted our business, but Cheddar's did not. read more

Service was horrible. Drinks weren't bad, good selection. Ordered food and an appetizer. the appetizer was served in a to go box even though we were seated at the table. The server (who doubled as the bartender) told the other guy it was not a to-go order so he took the appetizer by hand and transferred it to a plate to be served to my table. The staff was arguing and using profanity even with children around. It got to the point where I canceled my order, paid for my drinks, and left. As I left servers were getting yelled at in front of everyone about some other matters. Overall it was very unprofessional, very unsanitary, and not worthy of a family dinner. I recently visited this location last Friday. It wasn't all bad. We were sat in a timely manner ten minute wait. Got sat quickly. Hist and server were nice. Server came in a timely manner. She didn't know her drinks very well but we ordered within 5 minutes because we knew what we wanted to eat. The food came in 15 minutes and it was very good food! But we still don't have any drinks? We like to drink FYI. We did have a water. The drinks took over 20 minutes! $8 drinks Wow! Isn't that where we can make money as a company? Hummm...wait ...And the manager made them? Ohhh ok. Maybe we would get a visit? Did we get a visit from the manger? No?! Why not? It would have been nice to get paid a visit knowing the manger knew what an inconvenience we were dealt. This review is solely dedicated to recognizing the customer service of the manager last night. We went to dinner here last night and ordered a 20 ounce ribeye cooked medium to share. Place was pretty busy so the order took a little while and we dug right in when it first arrived. As we got into the steak we realized it was really rare (some parts were just inedible truly). Called it to the manager's attention and they cooked us a new one. The wait service is the only reason I'm deducting a star because I think the wait staff could have been more attentive, but overall I was really impressed with their willingness to have a happy customer. We asked for a smaller steak for the redo on the order since we'd eaten part of the larger one, and that's what they charged us for (really above and beyond in my opinion). Went here on a Sunday afternoon while visiting NC to have an early dinner with my family. We ordered the chicken strips/steak and 2 servings of the New Orleans pasta. The pasta looked delicious when it was served but after taking one bite my mother and I both immediately stated the same thing, it was cold. The server took both dishes to the back and it was served again by our waiter about 15 minutes later except this time one was missing the piece of toast that was initially served with it. We were told the toast is being prepared and would be served shortly. I started to eat my food which was tasty BUT after about 4 bites I noticed a green sticker with the abbreviation FRI sitting on a piece of pasta. I immediately put my fork down, called for the waiter and asked for a refund so I could get out of there. Our waiter, Chris, was really nice but he actually asked if I wanted a box for the pasta to take it to-go. I laughed at him and I think he had his answer. We asked to speak to the manager to ensure she was aware her kitchen was serving food with paper in it she seemed completely unconcerned and actually seemed like she didn't even want to see the dish in question. We did try to get the entire meal comped but since my stepfather consumed a lot of his meal while we were waiting on our food they would not comp his which was understandable. So, our planes to have a nice dine in dinner ended in a carry out for one and complete disappointment and dissatisfaction for my mother and I. Would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

We have family in town visiting. We google vegan friendly restaurants and come across Cheddars. My vegan family member asks how the green beans are cooked, if they are cooked in any animal broth because she is vegan. The server said no. Green beans are tried and again we ask her and she insists they are vegan. We ask her if she could double check and she comes back to tell us they are cooked in bacon broth. She offers rice because she knows that it is vegan friendly. Again, we go through the process of trying it, she insists it's vegan and finally asks another waitress who replies that there is definitely butter in the rice. The kitchen manager came out and apologized and offered us a $10 gift certificate. My sister has been vegetarian for 20 years and vegan for a while now. It is absolutely unacceptable that the server flat out disregarded diet restrictions for our table. We felt so bad. read more

Had the creamy spinach dip appetizer and for main meal, I had the tilapia with shrimp and mango sauce. Broccoli cheese casserole and southern green beans. Wife had fried shrimp and the kids had steak and chicken tender combo and salmon with the same sides I had. Forgot to take pics as it was so good and we were hungry from a 5 1/2 drive. This is a fun restaurant to go to once. I wouldn't recommend a 2nd or 3rd visit. Our first visit was great, my wife enjoyed her painkiller drink, the steak and BBQ ribs were awesome and our daughters really loved their Mac n cheese. But our second visit wasn't so great. Maybe the restaurant just had an off day. But the side of green beans are canned army rationed green beans. Flavorless. The Sante fe spinach dip was frozen spinach, with a watery cheese sauce that was clearly slopped onto the dish (very messy) and microwaved. The Mac n cheese was clumped together and looked microwaved. The cactus juice margarita my wife got was confusing, a syrup, and terrible. So maybe this place is an extreme hit or miss but we won't be going back. :/ really unfortunate. read more

This was the worst restaurant experience ever..my daughter ordered salmon dinner and her salmon came out raw in the middle. I ordered a ribeye asked for medium and got rare to medium rare...the waiter left everything on the table throughout the whole meal. He never picked up appetizer plates, salad plates or empty glasses. Took my daughter to Cheddar's #2066 for her birthday lunch. I had the lemon pepper chicken with green beans and broccoli. The broccoli was steamed just the way I like it. My daughter had the fried shrimp and fries and her plate looked good. Presentation of the food was good, the food was good and the service was exceptional! Our server, Kayla, was attentive and brought refills without us asking. Kayla even presented my daughter with birthday cookies when our meal was over. Kudos to Kayla H! read more

She took our order for our drinks and messed that up, our appetizers were missing added options, she didn't come until about 45 after we got our appetizers to take our order for the main course, We waited for our food for about 45 mins because i believe she put the ticket in late, she never came to our table to check up on us and see if we needed any drinks, and we had to ask another server to give us our utensils and straws for drinks, and to top that all off, the last visit to our table she handed our receipts with an attitude and all our receipts were messed up. The manager delivered new meal, basically tossed the plate on our table and didn't say a word to me. No apology offered. Didn't acknowledge my presence. The first time I ate here I got food poisoning, but I waited a year and went back. I decided eh what the heck maybe it's better. I went back and it wasn't great, but it wasn't bad. But last night takes the cake at one of the worst experiences I've had. We were seated and they weren't quite super busy yet, but it took about 20 minutes to even have our server come and take our drink orders or acknowledge us at all. After she took our drink orders, it took another 15 to get our drinks. They were simple drinks like lemonade and 2 beers from a bottle. She sat those down and walked away. She didn't bring a kids cup for the 3 year old our friends had with us. So he couldn't even drink his juice because it didn't have a lid on it and could have spilled it everywhere. Then she came back and we ordered our appetizer and than came back after that about 10 minutes later we ordered....so we waited. The guys finished their beers, and still a few more minutes went on by. Our server came to the table and said oh your appetizer and crescents will be up soon. The table next to us who got seated after us got their crescents before us, and not just a few minutes before like I mean 10 or so minutes before...so hm. And then our appetizer finally came out with our food, so it was pointless. Not to mention the onion rings were under cooked. Both of the guys got pasta that had been sitting under a heat lamp for well over an hour, so it tasted awful. The cheese and pasta were old you could tell. My friend had ordered her child something from the kids menu, and wasn't told it didn't come with a side, but she ordered a side with it. And didn't get the side, so she told the server that and the server argued with her that well it doesn't come with one. But she had still ordered it, so she should have just brought it out. So we asked for the side to come out as well. And then she asked for no mayo on her sandwich and they put it on anyway so it had to be sent back and took over 30 minutes for them to bring it back out. I had a sandwich that is fried, called the monte cristo, it was awful. I've had it from them before but this time it was undercooked or something. The breading was soft and soggy, and the meat inside was off tasting like almost as if it were bad. The broccoli I got was soggy and definitely not edible. And once we got our food we also had to wait for silverware. It took 15 minutes to be given silverware and than we were told they were out of silverware and they just gave us forks that she had been touching with her hands and that were in her apron. So basically we had to use wipes to disinfect silverware that was being carried in an apron. Servers aprons get spilled on and money carried in them and everything else, so that's disgusting. And none of us got knives. And there were 5 of us, we only got 4 forks. The experience was terrible. We were comped our meals, which was nice but we won't be going back. Our server never once apologized and really seemed uninterested in our table as a whole. She didn't stick around if we were asking for multiple things, and forgot most of it. She also tried to charge my friend for her sons side even though she never did even up bringing out to him. We had to have the manager over to get it taken off because the server argued with her about it. Terrible. And really shows the lack of training their staff has. read more

Met my boss here for lunch today to discuss an upcoming project so I didn't want to be rude and take pictures. But here goes, We ordered the onion rings to share; which I must say are the best I've ever had. Crispy, light and delicious. We loved them. I had the blackened redfish with corn and black beans, my boss had the grilled tilapia with mac and cheese and broccoli cheddar casserole. Everything tastes good and the temperature still hot when it came out. My redfish was slightly salty but I don't enjoy salty foods so that may be why. We shared the buttered croissants which were DELICIOUS, I would go back just for that. Over all the food was good. But the service was outstanding. From the hostess who was very warm and welcoming, to the server who was friendly and on top of everything , to the manager who stopped by at the end of the meal to ask us if we enjoyed our meals and brought over free chocolate chip cookies to thank us for coming in.
