Giving this a one simply for the carry out service. Strongly recommend to NOT order a carryout and instead just dine in. When we placed our order over the phone, we were told 20 mins. So we arrived to the restaurant 20 mins later, and we had to wait for our food for about 10 mins. No biggie. After we drove home (about a 10 min drive) we started eating and it was horrible! My order, the chicken Alfredo, had NO alfredo sauce! The chicken was cold and the veggies were not cooked. My husband ordered the chicken tenders and those were cold as well and the French fries were wet and cold. How could this food be like that if it barely had anytime to sit. I normally try and stay away from (and review) chains but we were in the area and decided to stop by for dinner. We ate here a few years ago and I remember thinking it was mediocre but I thought tonight was better. I had the pecan chicken salad with blue cheese which was quite good. I was happy there was more than just iceberg lettuce. My husband had a steak which he enjoyed. Decor was nice, had a cabin feel. Unlike most chains and 'American' restaurants there isn't a ton of stuff on the walls which is a nice change of pace. Service was good, overall we had a good experience and will most likely come back. I do agree with a previous review that there isn't much for vegetarians. read more

My wife and I love this place. Really reasonable pricing with a great gambit of sandwiches. I think both the Philly cheesesteak and the mushroom burger. They have some wonderful desserts as well. My son loved his half rack of ribs with a side of mashed potatoes and green beans! French fries were great! My moms club sandwich was really big and tasty! I got the chicken pot pie! We typically enjoy Cheddar's. It's one of the few places on our "going out" list of restaurants. We have not been out in many months and chose to break out of the post-holiday rut to eat in there. The food was to be expected - we love their chicken tender platter, it's hands-down incredible every time. However, our booth had been completely overlooked when cleaning after the last guest. I was a hostess many years ago, and trust me when I say the measly pay is nothing to write home about, but there is true value in training restaurant employees to keep the facility clean, and this is true whether in a pandemic or not. I found it completely uncomfortable to sit in a booth with the former patron's food and menus littering the floor below us and stuck in the crevice of the booth. This also includes the sticky table top and little computer thing on the table. All that said, service and food were good. If the restaurant actually reads these reviews, please pay closer attention to cleaning the areas where patrons eat their food, it's greatly appreciated! read more

This is a nice to place to eat. I get the Buffalo chicken wrap! It is very nice sized and I always have left overs. The pricing is fair. Bathroom has been a little dirty the last couple of times I went. The one night my friends and I got there at about 6:30 we ate and got done and then we stayed till 10 talking. Cheddar's Fort Wayne, IN highly recommended. The warm croissants were heavenly. They arrived before our meal and disappeared within minutes. Our server was friendly. Our meal arrived promptly and my picky eater left full and satisfied. She had the Steak & Grilled Shrimp dinner. She ate the whole thing. My husband enjoyed his Bourbon Glazed Salmon dinner. The staff took amazing care of a group of 20 we had come in. There were waters already on the table when we got there, the servers were incredibly friendly and ready to serve us and the food was outstanding. The very worst experience I have ever had!!! Waited 45 minutes for a server!! Asked for a manager 3 times and they never showed!! The table next to use sat down 15 minutes after us and ordered their food before anyone even came to us..one waitress finally asked if we had been helped and when we said no she said she would do it and she never came back!! As we finally had enough and left the hostess said that she was sorry have a good day!! Really!!! Ask I once again asked for a manager, I was told they couldn't find her!! Tonight spur of the moment we decided to eat here, and we sat at the bar rail, well there is a new bartender that is horrible. He cannot mult task for the life of it. He only had us at the bar rail, and we understand he makes drinks for the restaurant, however they werent busy it was 8p. I think we waited 10 mins before we were asked what we wanted to drink and another 10-15 before he asked if we wanted an app, and at that point we said we are ready to order. I think he definitely needs to tone down on vocally and physically showing frustration. If he is this easily frustrated I would hate to see this place slammed and how he wouod react I peraonally think he would walk out. I want our other guy back its twice we've been here and have had newer bartender's and its been a bad experience. Now I'm going to mentio. Our order was put in at 8:08 and we also ordered an app of the three croissants and they haven't come out and its 8:34, and two orders of 1/2 ribs and chicken tenders, and you know when the kitchen crew is all in the bar watching the finals of the basketball game our food is more than likely sitting back there cold! It's hard to rate a place we didn't receive any service in. My wife and I stopped in on a Thursday evening this week. We waited to be greeted by a hostess for about 4-5 mins. We asked to sit in a booth in the bar area. Once seated we waited just over 10 mins without any interaction from anyone. We put our coats on and left. They wonder why the restaurant was only 1/4 full and the new restaurant across the street was packed. We went there instead. Used to be one of my favorites in Ft Wayne. Great food for a descent price. Our service was excellent our waitress brought everything quickly and kept our drinks filled the entire meal. The meal was cooked to perfection and rhe spinach dip is always awesome!!!!! The bathrooms were clean and the decor looked like all the Cheddar's I have been too. We live closer to the Findlay restaurant but enjoy the Fort Wayne one because it's not as busy!!!! I agree entirely with the one person who said some people just don't appreciate the value and the quality they have when it's in their hometown and I don't think you can judge based entirely on your waitresses inability to do their job that shouldn't reflect on the chef's ability. read more

We went for ribs and were very disappointed that they were out of ribs. I couldn't believe it! I ordered down and got the vegetable platter and my daughter got the tilapia. Her entree looked good. The vegetable platter was so boring. The meal took forever to get to the table and the, dining room was so cold. Then we wanted the ice cream cake and they were out of that, too. A few years ago I would've given this place 1 Star. However, I gave this place another shot a while back and it was AMAZING. I had the pulled pork, carrots and mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious, our waiter was friendly and helpful, food service was the perfect speed and we all had a great time. I look forward to revisiting and having another great experience. A decent restaurant. The food is average, and the interior of the restaurant is cool. It is in close proximity to the mall, which means that it is always very crowded. Service, however, is awful. Worst dinner experience I have had in a long time!! Travel about 200 nights per year so I eat out a lot. My advice...stay away!!! Ordered a piece of salmon asked for it to come a little more done, it was almost raw. Though I asked for the baked potato plain, it was slathered in cheese and sour cream, when I asked for a new one the bar tender just scraped the old one off (cheese still dripped all over my piece of salmon) and brought me another, this time dripping with butter. Very disappointed. We have never been here, but wanted to give it a try. We were sat right away and had a new server (both my husband and I have worked in the restaurant industry for years so we could tell right away, although she did admit soon after we sat down that she was new). For starters, water was dripping from the ceiling right behind my husband. We got our drinks ordered and took a look at the menu. I had to ask for a gluten free menu, as myself and my 2 boys cannot have it. I was asking questions that she had no answer to, and I know she is new, but a manager should have come out at this point to address our questions. There is barley anything gluten free here. Not even the steaks. Steak. Not gluten free. We paid for our drinks and left. I did end up tipping her well because I felt bad, but Cheddars should really extend their menu items for people with food issues. Or at the very LEAST, train your staff to get a manager for these types of situations. We won't be here again. read more

Our other guests where running late so we got appetizer chips and cazo.. it was OK not great. Other 2 show up order drinks. Takes her at least 15min to get a Coke and ice tea and drop off app. She totally gets the drink orders wrong gave Grandma hot tea instead of ice tea. She fixed problem but then forgets straws and sweetener. Okay so we finally order probably after a half hour or so. I order shrimp with fries. Figured I would keep it simple have not felt good before at chedders. It is probably 20 minutes before we get food. Mom's sides were wrong she fixed it quick. I eat about half of shrimp before I feel bad and can't eat any feel need to throw up. Everyone at the table felt that the food was not great at all it was okay at best. Bill, she never asked if we needed it split up. When she did go back to split up the bill she got it messed up. Takes forever to get bill and get out of here will not be back anytime soon. read more

My first trip was this Thursday, October 4th. Was excited to try this restaurant. Had gone online to see the menu and decided the Roasted Pear Salad sounded scrumptious. Upon being seated and ready to order the waitress informed me they did not have the ingredients for the Roasted Pear Salad. I was so got ! This was at 12:05 pm. Really ? Ordered the Asian Salad with chicken and shrimp. It was good but not something to drive the 50 miles for. The waitress mentioned that the day before they didn't have the food to make the Monte Cristo Sandwiches. That is just poor management. Forgot to mention that unwrapping my napkin that was holding my knife and fork left me speechless. The knife had two flattened big chunks of food/lettuce on each side. As my friend stated "how on earth could those big pieces be missed when whoever was wrapping the silverwaer." She is correct on this observation....they were not miniscule dots of food. They were huge ! Our waitress was pleasant and very attentive. Had no problem with her. Am sure she was embarrased by it all. Would I make a special trip to this restaurant again.....hmmmm...probably NOT ! read more

Won't to dinner with group of about 20 with reservations for a group that size. Although they did have a table area and could have pushed them together, they said they could only put us into booths that were close together. Strike 1. Food was average, but the delivery was slow. Strike 2. Finally, asked for our check at 7:30. Didn't get the first one until close to 8:00. It was wrong. Told the waitress and she went to fix it, still wrong the second time, and the third time at which point we brought it to the managers attention. Instead of fixing it himself, he just said the waitress was working on it. 4th one still wrong, but not enough to bother anymore. It was 8:30 before we could walk out of there. We had our 2 year old with us, that was fun for the extra hour. 3 hours of my life wasted for an average meal. I will never return to Cheddars, at any location. read more

Terrible service, they put my wife and I in the far corner so we wouldn't be an eyesore for the 'fashionable' people in the prominent sections of the room. This is not a fine dining establishment. We were not in business attire, but we weren't in rags either. The waitress was very good at the hit and run method of serving. She would rush up when we had just taken a bite and rush off before we could answer. That is when she wasn't chatting with the other employees. Then some very fashionable young women came in (and were seated prominently) and our server sat with them and had a long personal conversation. Apparently the customers were people she knew. Then we got our meals. Their chicken strips were plentiful, too bad they had zero flavor. The 'fresh off the cob' corn would have been tasty if it had been cooked all the way. This place is so disappointing! Three times in a row they have had very slow service and terrible wait staff! This last time was the absolute worst experience that I have ever had! Busy night so we waited 20mins to get in. Then we sat at the table for an hour. The waitress didn't come by and ask to refill our drinks, the manager didn't come by to apologize. After an hour and twenty minutes I finally yelled at the manager to stop and talk to me. He told me that didn't have any flour to make the chicken tenders that we had ordered. So, after ninty minutes, he tells me that they can't finish our order, and then only because I stopped him to inquire. I had asked our waitress 20mins earlier (that was the last time we had seen her for the rest of the night. She never came back!) she just said " has the manager spoken with you yet?". Then left! He actually said that he was a terrible manager, and that he was laughing in the kitchen because things were so bad. I will never go back, and I suggest that you avoid it at all costs. read more

This place is not the most kids- friendly places I have ever visited. I recently visited this place for lunch with my toddler. We ordered a regular meal and a kids meal, but the waitress brought us only one set of silverware,with no extra napkin. Did she assume kids eat with their hands? Well my daughter doesn't! The next time we saw the waitress was 20 mins after she took our order, she brought us our food, and I asked her for another set of silverware for my kid and a few extra napkins, because kids need more napkins to stay clean during their meal time!! Before that, I had to wipe the spilled water with bread because we have NO napkins!! After we start eating for about 12 minutes, the waitress stopped by and asked us whether we need desert, we told her no and she brought us check! My kid ate literally 2 French fries and one bite of her chicken tender and we got our check already? Seriously?! It took you 20 mins to bring the food and you only give us 12 mins to eat? I know I can stay longer and finish our meals there but I don't want to spend one more minute there! So I asked her for a to go box( that came quickly) and packed my kid's meal and got the heck out of there! Funny enough, the tip suggestions are 18%, 20%, and 22% or 25%. I left 18% on my card, but honestly I think she deserves about 10%. This is the worst dining experience I had with my kid and I hope they can improve on that because the food is not bad. read more

After the third strike, I won't be back. We use to come to Cheddars all the time. Our family moved years back so we hadn't visited for quite some time. Recently we decided it was time to go back. Big mistake! Food takes way too long. The dining area is filthy, and the floors are so slippery you can't hardly walk on them. The last three times we visited were awful. On one visit, we could hear our server complaining to his girlfriend about having to serve a table of ten. If he didn't want to serve them, surly he didn't want to serve us either. Another server was drawing her name over and over again on the computer. When she got tired of that, she started drawing shapes and coloring them in. I took a video to show the manager. He just rolled his eyes and said I know who she is. Well I would hope so, she works for you. My food was cold, my butter wouldn't even melt in my potato. I told the server and another server came to take care of it. She made excuses the entire time. The manager came out and made more excuses. He gave us certificate to come back. We visited tonight for my daughters birthday. Again, my food was cold, and surprise, more excuses. This place makes food. That's their job, yet they can't even do that. It's honestly not just Cheddars. It's the generation of people who don't know how to dig down and give their best in service, but I have to say, Cheddars is the worst of all.
