I must start off by saying that the negative reviews that I read lowered the overall rating of this restaurant, for ridiculous reasons. But to each his own I guess. This location is directly off of the interstate. I'd stopped off the same exit many times and went with the Cracker Barrel every time. This time we went with Cheddar's, good choice made by another in my party. Because I live in Lexington and we have two Cheddar's locations, this wasn't my first Cheddar's experience. I must say that this location is more modern and cleaner than the Lexington locations. For years I thought that Cheddar's was a local concept, but I later learned that they were established in Texas. On to the food... I decided I should get something new, and I went with the chicken pot pie. I was not disappointed. It comes with a side salad and croissant which are scrumptious. You can always add a salad as your side to any menu item that includes a side, but it's $1.00 upcharge. I tasted the potato soup and it was awesome, the perfect temperature. I don't like my soup piping hot, which this one wasn't, it was perfect. The service was top notch and the food arrived quick. read more

Ordered the country fried steak togo. But there was no gravy. Who eats country fried steak without gravy? Mashed potatoes also with no gravy. Both were very dry and needed some kind of sauce. The place was nearly empty so I was surprised i had to wait much longer than forecasted for my order. And then the food is either dry or luke warm or both. The side of mac and chz was almost as dry as my dog's kibble and tasted more like powdered imitation cheese than anything you'd get at a place called a "scratch kitchen." Cheddar's is now on my list of favorite places to eat! The food is sooooo good and the prices are unbelievable. I recommend the Monte Cristo sandwich it's around $8. It's a ham & turkey sandwich with two types of cheese...but this is where it gets nuts..they deep fry it. Yeah it's not something you can eat every day obviously but it's definitely something everyone needs to try. It's sprinkled with powdered sugar and comes with a side of raspberry preserves. Sounds weird, right? Yeah well it tastes amazing. Their fries were also really good. So far everything I've tried from there I've loved. Prices range from around $6-$15 for an entree. Service is also great, even as busy as it was, we had service that was right on the ball with refills and checking to make sure we had everything we needed. EVERYONE go try it out! read more

The facility is nice and still looks newish. They seem to be understaffed. They had an annoying chirp with the alarm system that went off randomly with a startling CHIRP. My wife had the buffalo chicken wrappers which were very basic but pretty good. I had the salmon and baked potato which was very good. The staff was nice but slow. read more

I've been a fan of Cheddars but lately, my experiences have not been too positive. From a hair in my onion rings to stale cookies, from undercooked burger patty to soggy broccoli casserole, from long wait time (took the waitress almost 47 mins to deliver our orders... We were a party of 4) to jotting down the wrong sides.... There is something wrong there these days. One of the waitresses said that it's due to the fact that they are trying out a new chef, but at the customer's expense?? That's not fair. I hope they go back to being as good as they were.. If you have been to a Cheddar's anywhere else in the entire country, welcome. This Cheddar's location walks the line of a Cheddar's Franchise. Friendly staff, clean environment, and that solid middle of the line food quality we all know and love. And let us not forget those portions that make this country obese! Alas, I do hate to rag on this establishment because it is one of the better locations in the area. I have eaten here for lunch, dinner and carry out. Each time having something different and each time it met my expectations to a tee. Know what you are going to get out of Cheddar's and you will not be disappointed. I have only eaten in the bar area which is right when you walk in. Full bar, over priced drinks. If you would like to have a few beers and a solid sandwich go across the street to Old Town Grill. But, I have spent a few hours at this bar and the tender is always attentive and does her job well. Overall no complaints about this particular Cheddar's. Cheddar's as a whole and what they stand for is a different conversation and not one meant for this review. We hadn't ate here in a long time but I decided I wanted it for my birthday so the whole extended family went and wasted our hard earned money. Worst food ever!! No seasoning! No taste! Chicken full of gristle and the Cole slaw was out of bag with no dressing, no mayo... nothing... just dry cabbage mix. It was so cold in there that it was ridiculous! Salsa and fries was good or I'd give it a zero. Don't waste your hard earned money like we did on this place. Lexington one verses this one is no comparison! Stopped for lunch on our way back home to Tennessee and I have to say I was not impressed!!!! After waiting more than 30 minutes they were seating people who checked in after us, we then had to wait more than 5 minutes for our server Kimberly N to take our drink order just to listen to her complain about them not giving her any patrons. After her waiting on us I could see why!!!! While we were trying to enjoy our drinks we realized that they were allowing waiting patrons to stand and watch us! Very very very disturbing!!!! My husband ordered a hamburger with fries and I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap with fries. Get our food and what do you know, our fries were cold!!!!! They bring me out fresh fries but when I went to eat my wrap I'll be damned my chicken was ice cold. The server of course wasn't our server, said she'd send the manager back. Who we never saw I might add. When our server finally made an appearance she said I'm sorry I pulled your plates as soon as they were up, which was a lie since she didn't bring us our meals. My first visit to Cheddar's in London, Kentucky. Drove here from Charlotte 2 nights ago to escape Florence. Beautiful decor and I was seated promptly and with a smile. I ordered 2 Entrees since I'm staying in a hotel. Had the all white meat Chicken Pot Pie here and brought home Chicken with Mushrooms, Rice and Dijon with 2 sides. My wonderful waiter, Jason made me feel welcome immediately and service was top notch. Came here while charging my car. I've never heard of this restaurant before, but reading from the reviews, I see it's a chain. The interior is really nice. Not what I was expecting. We ordered the queso and chips, very good. It's possible they make their own chips. 3 of us had steak and the kids had grilled cheese and Mac and cheese. We all really liked the food. This location is a DISGRACE to the chain. While the food was good, the service is AWFUL. This is the 2nd time I have called this place to put in an order for take out. After being on hold for 20 min I drove the the restaurant to place my order. I was told "sorry" by the on duty manager but only 1 person is able to take call in orders and she also tends bar and waits tables. When I got to place my order at the bar, the bartender explained that someone went home early and she was not only tending bar , waiting tables in the bar area, taking the take out orders but was also waiting tables on the far side of the restaurant. When I told the girl it sounds like corporate may need to know about how short handed they are and how it is effecting the customers, her snotty reply was "you can call whoever you want". When my order came, I was told "we are out of to go cup lids" and there way nothing covering my drink. When I asked if they hap plastic wrap or foil to put over the top to keep it from spilling I was told "it's going to be a while". (I subsequently figured out the lid for to go soup cup will fit the drink cups but guess this girl didn't know that) Yup..you got it, drink spilled in my vehicle because no lid. We stopped in hopes of a good meal after traveling and too much fast food. We ordered the Cajun Alfredo pasta, grilled chicken, and grilled cheese. The grilled cheese was fine, but the grilled chicken was just bad. It was dry and hard and had a really strange taste. The chicken in my pasta was in the same unfortunate condition. The sausage and shrimp were good. The sauce was way off. It was very sweet for an Alfredo and tasted of tomato, not Cajun at all. The pasta was under cooked even for al dente. We placed our curbside Oder and arrived about 10 minutes early. The directions say to call when you arrive so we did expecting to wait until our estimated time fort our service. I was told I'll make sure they know you are here. Our estimated time 5:57 came and went so I called to let them know I was still outside in parking space 8. Instead i was put on hold. Stopped to have a nice meal with my brother and his family. Waited 45 minutes to be seated. First thing the waiter tells us they are out of baked potatoes and broccoli, which, ok, whatever. We all order our food and he returns a few minutes later and says they are also out of French fries. Those of us who ordered fries changed our side to a side salad. He returns a few moments later to inform us they are also out of salad! So we all change our sides again. He returns minutes later and informs us they do actually have salad, which would be out shortly. Several minutes later he returns to our table with our meals. He stated the salads were never made so he gave us our other sides. We finish our meal and ask for our checks, at which point he brings us a to go bag with three salads in it and says we were not charged. However, our tickets did in fact have charges for the salads. Once we started reviewing the tickets, I informed him that my bar drink was on my brother's ticket and that there was a $1.99 charge on my ticket for "table games". He refused to correct either problem with the ticket. I had to pay with cash, so I just gave my brother the money for my drink. The waiter then returns with my change and tells me my change was $12.89. He handed me $12 and told me they did not have the 89 cents! What the heck is going on with this place!? read more

Nothing to complain about here! Waiter was attentive and nice. Had a peach tea to drink and it was delicious. Didn't take too long to order or get our food. I order the chicken tender basket off the appetizer menu and it was plenty. The breading on the chicken was light and chicken was cooked nicely. Fries were good but nothing special. The rest of my family had a Monte Carlo and world class Chicken sandwich. Both were delicious and I would recommend them. First time here and it was a pretty decent chain. read more

The food we finally got was good. Or good enough; we were hungry. However, no croissants were available until 30 minutes after we hit our table. Twenty-thirty minutes after we were seated 3 of the 4 of us got our meals. The 4th took 15 more minutes which is RIDICULOUS in food service. The whole table should be served at the same time! Our waitress was pretty frustrated, and she was either over-stretched or scatterbrained as it took 2-3 requests to get condiments or extra salad dressing. One day everything will be prefect and delicious and the next your entire order is wrong and when they finally get the order right, it's cold. Great food when it's right and warm. I also ordered the cook with ice cream for dessert and when it finally got to the table all the ice cream was melted the waitress said it just came out of the over and it did that. My girlfriend and I just got out of this restaurant and this is our experience. First time mins you... The server (Brian) was wonderful and polite. We ordered our food and quickly received our drinks. After 20 minutes of waiting we received the wrong order of food. Our server apologized and came back with the correct food we had ordered. My girlfriends food was fine, my steak (ordered medium rare) was cooked rare.. ultra rare. No big deal, just ask for it to be fixed. Steak came back a well done.. the cook apparently doesn't know how to cook a steak and I had to ask for my sides they'd forgotten. I have eaten at other Cheddars's. The food at this one isn't even close to the quality of the other Cheddar's I've visited. There was two of us and we ordered food we had eaten before and liked. The onion rings was the best thing we got this time. Our server was good but the food wasn't. This establishment is a great stop for the hungry traveler. We were able to walk in and be seated quickly.
