They weren't too busy for lunch but our server seemed completely overwhelmed by 6 of us at one table. I had the chicken tenders with mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was just ok. Arrived at the restaurant. Waited to be seated. Server came over. Immediately started talking and welcoming us to the restaurant. Took drink order. Brought out drinks along with extra napkins. Ordered food. She then brought out a tray with a bowl of water and some wet napkins to wash my hands. Also extra sauces were brought out without even asking. Amen my glass was empty she immediately filled it. Even brought out a cup to go. Checked on us regularly. She was an excellent server. By the way her name was Valerie(SUG). I really like this Cheddar's here in Okolona it is somewhere that I like the visit when going to my grandma's house that is about a half a mile from here. The atmosphere is very nice they have an elegant feel about it but still a traditional country home feel as well. This is a nice little date establishment. I like to get their chicken tenders and Fries I think that is a good meal for around $10 can't go wrong here so I do recommend this Cheddar's so nice place you can take your spouse or take your kids 4 out of 5 stars read more

This is a chain and when I think of chains I think of Fleetwood Mac and you said you'd never break the chain. This place isn't BAD it's just that Louisville has so much to offer in the way of local and independent restaurants that I just don't think to come here. The food is okay, the service is good, and the prices are a bit high (I think) for what they're serving but they're not too high. As far as generic places with pretty generic food you could do worse, a lot worse. This your basic fare: burgers, chicken fingers*, steaks, pasta, seafood, and salads. It all tastes good but it isn't going to blow you away. Cheddars earned five stars today undoubtedly! We've been here numerous other times and I would have rated them between 3-4 stars but after today I was quite impressed. It may have had something to do with the fact we had an early dinner, arriving at 4pm. Our service was friendly, fast, and made an overall pleasurable experience for the kiddos and us. The food was very photogenic, Cheddars could've used any of it to showcase their menu items. Unfortunately, we were so hungry and it was so tasty, that we devoured it before I even thought of taking a picture of it. The menu has undergone some changes since we were last here. It seemed to have possibly been downsized but some new items added as well. Cheddars remains easy on the wallet for a nice causal dining experience with good food. They have items that kids love on the menu as well as a giant aquarium. They also have a full bar with a plethora of mixed drinks at good prices. The restrooms have always been clean and orderly when we've used them which easily earns a bonus star in my opinion. Hope they continue a 5 star trend for our future visits! read more

We used to come eat here a lot because it was affordable and open when I got off late at work. They have been consistently mediocre and continue to be on par of my expectations. They got my salad wrong and brought bread and croutons on my husbands salad when he specifically asked it to be gluten free. They fixed the food and then didn't discount anything. Not the case here. Sure, selecting the food I wanted was no biggie, but then you get to the payment screen. Hey BEFORE you can select payment, lets make you work for google and fill out 15 different captcha surveys. Ok you made it past that, now fill in your payment info. Oh we forgot to mention we don't take any of the easy mobile pay options, you have fill everything out. Will your device auto populate your card info? Not with us. Now that you did all that here's five more google surveys that they need done asap. Talk about jumping through hoops just to order food. Furthermore with all the popups and redirects, Cheddars ordering process actually makes me feel like its a online phishing attempt. I love being asked if I am a robot from and actual robot It gets even better. When you arrive, tell us which spot you parked in and we will bring it out to you. I'm in spot 11. I went to Chedders with 3 other people with a wonderful atmosphere where you could enjoy a full variety of food. This is not my first time at Cheddar's, but it is also not going to be my last. Each time I've been there we've had a relatively expedient waiter and a majority of the dishes we've decided to try have been appetizing as well as flavorful. We had the triple treat sampler as our appetizer and I don't recommend it unless you have a penchant for breaded foods. I like breaded food just as much as the next guy, but they did not do it any justice. The chicken tenders were about what you'd expect one to taste like. The mozzarella / cheese curds mix they had going on was awful. However, the potato skins were amazing. I'm a burger guy and I've never had a burger at this place before so I thought I'd try it. They did something I thought was relatively weird when I ordered the cheeseburger and loaded back potato as a combo: they put all of the toppings to the side and you had to assemble your burger condiments and all before you ate it. This is not something I've ever seen before in all my years on this earth at a restaurant. I can't say that it was a bad thing, just that it was weird. However, it simplified a lot of things because I never asked what was on the burger. So, anything I didn't like I did not put on. The burger overall filled me up. It tasted about what a burger I think would taste like, but it did not pack much flavor. I don't think there was enough seasoning to it because it felt like two meat paddies with melted cheese on it and that was where they stopped. That being said, I still enjoyed it more than most gourmet burgers I've had. When I tried to also eat the loaded baked potato, my hunger was renewed as I continued to eat it. There was a perfect amount of sour cream, butter, cheese and bacon deliciously melted together in a potato that fell apart as you forked it. The service was good this time around and the waitress was friendly and helpful. It was entirely too hot in the area we were dining in and she had the manager adjust the thermostat for us. She also came by to check on us to make sure we had water in our cups and etcetera. I would recommend this place to anyone who is in this part of the town for a place to eat for lunch. Seated quickly. Friendly waitress. Immediately asked what we would like to drink and put our order in for our appetizer. The Cheddar Trio Sampler was good. The tenders were fine enough, definitely not the best I've ever had though. 3/5. The spinach dip was great, as always. 5/5. And the Queso was too cheesy for my mother. 2/5. Salsa was fine. 3/5. My mom got the chicken and mushrooms, which she said was was flavorful and moist. They gave her corn in a bowl rather corn on the cob. Not a big deal. 4/5. I got the ribs and 8oz sirloin. The steak was top tier, and among my favorite steaks, and the ribs were flavorful, but the meat at some points was not tender. The fries were under seasoned and not too good. 4/5. I have visited this establishment before and service had been okay on those visits. I have been here twice to pick up food and both times have been nothing short of awful. The service is beyond slow. I was rushed when ordering so I didn't tell them how I wanted my meat cooked. I was told the wait would be 25 minutes and it was well over 45 minutes before my food was given to me. I was so excited to go to cheddars i havent been in so long. When i walked in it smelled like old carpet so already i am rethinking to go in there. Well i went to the table. Me and my brother sat there for a solid 20 mins before anyone arised to our table. Finally he brings out croissants ask what we want to drink. First we had the queso. Mediocre. I got a cheeseburger and fries added the broccoli casserole to it. Got the food. The food was disgusting. The burger was thicker then a snicker and just tasted like charcoal and i even think it was fully cooked. The fries tasted like old grease and the casserole was probably from a day before because it was dry and gross. The server we barely seen and no manager present i will never go back there. I have visited this Cheddar's location a few times in the last year and each time the experience is a little different. The menu has a nice selection, the wait staff is usually friendly and fast, but where you sit in the restaurant can make or break your overall experience. The Good: The restaurant is pretty large with the option of a table or booth and the menu has a great selection of appetizers, entrees and drinks. The prices cannot be beat-I mean $9.99 for a 6 oz. sirloin AND 2 sides?!?! What a deal! The Iffy: Because of the great price and variety of menu options, there are A LOT of families that dine here. When I'm dining with family (which has been 2 of the 3 times I've been to Cheddar's) this doesn't bother me. But, when I went on a date with my husband, I wasn't in the mood to listen to screaming children and "Baby Shark" on the iPad at the table next to us. This was not the restaurant's fault, just a side effect of being an affordable and tasty restaurant. Doesn't look like much because it isn't! I ordered lunch to go today since I have a busy day. The drink I purchased was a simple sweet tea for $3 and is tiny! It's like a child size drink and when I asked about the size since there wasn't a size option online and I have ordered before and gotten larger sizes, I was told this is the only size they have right now! A little crazy for just a cookie. But we said ok. Drove down the street 25 mins later and waited ...... another 25 mins and finally got Oh it's coming we are busy! When it comes out - we ordered just the cookie nothing else - it's covered in melted ice cream and chocolate sauce. Wtf puts ice cream on a hot cookie in a to go box? This restaurant was dirty. Terribly dirty. The grounds had litter everywhere. The entrance was cluttered and dark. The hostess was not friendly-I think it would've killed her to smile. Our table wasn't wiped off before we were seated. When our food arrived, my plate was dirty with old food stuck to it. I had my plate returned and the second time was much better. We hit the bathroom on our way out and both men and womens were dirty and gross. The best part is while we were seated, then ordered, waited for our food, served, returned a plate, got my second plate, paid and used the bathrooms, two tables directly beside us were not bussed at all. At least the same 10 staffers walked by the tables and didn't stop to clean it. If it weren't for the friendly server, I would give this place no stars. read more

Cheddars always hits the spot. My go to at cheddars is the club sandwich. Very good filling in one of a kind. All the meals that you get a cheddars or over accommodating and honestly enough to split with another person. I can't remember the name of the cookie with ice cream dessert but it is a must if you're going to go. The atmosphere the restaurant is very nice and warm. I highly recommend cheddars if you've never been before. Especially if you're rolling down I 65 and looking for something a little different. Other good recommendations are there chicken strips with ribs, the buffalo chicken wrap, Monte Christo, and last but not least they have a chicken and shrimp grill dinner call the key west chicken and shrimp that is really good. read more

He kept checking in on is, refilled our drinks as needed, and was able to make food accommodations since my sister is allergic to cheese (not the best place for her to be at) Appetizer: queso and chips Main course: cheeseburger and fries. On Tuesday, September 13, 2022, five of us were having lunch at the Outer Loop Cheddar's. Our lunch was delicious and our server was very efficient. But the most amazing thing about this restaurant was when a man in our party became ill. The server rushed to get the manager and call 911. The manager immediately jumped into action assisting us until EMS arrived. He didn't just stand by, he was hands on helping us. Our thanks go out to this team of employees and especially the manager. I don't know what's happened to Cheddars in the past year other than the pandemic, which might explain why they have gone downhill a bit. This place is just not what it use to be. At all. Service was great and that's why I kept it at 2 stars, but the food is why we aren't fans any longer. Croissants served were "visibly" over cooked and very dark and hard...yet they made it to our table. No server should have put in front of us what we saw. My husbands meal was so-so. My coconut shrimp were again "visibly" over cooked (fried) and very dark, but served anyway. The fact I paid $13.99 for some extra extra crunchy shrimp, fries and bland coleslaw is frustrating. Anyway...just be aware that what use to be a go to lunch spot will no longer get our business. The price point and food quality aren't what they use to be. read more

I liked it alot it was a pastry soft bread a good mix of melted yummy cheese and warm lunch meat. I really liked it alot. I don't recommend the broccoli casserole it was not so good and I mean that with all due respect but it wasn't good. The Honey butter crossiant was soft and warm and very good. This review is based strictly re:customer service, and how we were treated for almost an hour waiting for them to seat 12 ppl! If I could give zero stars I would. We came in at 7pm, checked in and we're advised that they were waiting for one of two parties to leave before they could seat us! There were plenty of options of where and how to seat a party of 12 without having to wait for another large party to leave in order to seat us! The obviously inexperienced manager put us at two tables that we couldn't even interact as a group from... To have someone tell you "I have three options for you now" all the while seating everyone who else who came in after us..only to be told we have two booths for you when we already asked for tables so we could sit as a group. We were having a group dinner to discuss an event, kind of hard to discuss things as a group from two separate booths! What happens in the restaurant with other patrons has nothing to do with us and our reservation. You are in the business of making things work... And us being seated really shouldn't be contingent on waiting for other guests to leave! Having to wait for an hour, having this manager explain her table dilemma like we were stupid.. Was both frustrating and ridiculous! If it weren't for the storm and how large our party was... We would have left! It's nice to get free appetizers and all that... Can you just do something different so this doesn't happen to someone else? It really was a horrible experience! Me and my fiancé love cheddars and tonight we went to Cheddar's and got a to go order and spent well over $40.00 and we get home and the steak is bloody and it was supposed to be well done and we were missing other items. We call in to inform them and they get our information to send a gift card .I don't even know if we will even eat there anymore. The manager was nice and it's not her fault she is not the cook. After years of avoiding this place bc honestly nothing seemed interesting about it & the menu is super basic in terms of its stuff we should all know how to make - I finally tried a full meal & fell so deeply in love with how homemade everything tastes. I honestly can't believe I avoided it for all these years. The wait is always insane for a table - but I guess that's why! I've been back 1-3x weekly for about a month, & about 4 times before then. The service is always decent or great, the wait isn't fun, it's kind of noisy but it's huge busy place - & honestly the food is so delicious. The broccoli casserole you can't go wrong with, the country fried steak is delicious & HUGE, the croissants are FRESH & melt in your mouth! No matter what you do - you HAVE to order those, they completely stole my heart. Like I ordered 6 as soon as I tried one off my friend's plate lol. Their peach tea is sooooo good also, & their mashed potatoes are the bomb, & should definitely be tried with bourbon glaze. The macaroni is always over cooked but good, but you can't ever have perfectly cooked mac n cheese in a restaurant since they have to keep it on hand ALL day, so it's understandable.
