Often, pictures are worth a thousand words, not this time. My sister and myself decided to eat lunch here based on some food pictures. That was a mistake. We arrived and entered the restaurant, the first thing we notice was the "aromatic" scent of egg. This permeated the restaurant. The restaurant was set up in a functional manner. It was rather dark even though it was about noon. The servers and other staff were very friendly. My sister and I started with water and cocktails. The cocktails were well presented and pleasing to our taste buds. We had the cheese fries as an appetizer. Unfortunately, they were not as tasty as they appeared. I ordered the lunch combo with the "homemade" baked potato soup and buffalo chicken wrap. The soup resembled flavors and texture of a number of creamy canned soups. The temperature, let's just say that my Nana would have sent it back to the kitchen to finish heating. The wrap, maybe they meant something other than what I interpreted as "buffalo sauce." Also, it was a bit overloaded with shredded cheddar cheese. I requested the dressing to be on the side and instead of ranch, I requested bleu cheese. My dressing was served on the side, but it was ranch. As soon as I was able to gain the attention of my waitress, I once again , requested a side of bleu cheese dressing. My sister ordered the strawberry salmon salad without the strawberry vinaigrette; instead, she requested balsamic vinegar; she also ordered a side of southern green beans. The salad arrived with the strawberry vinaigrette and NO Strawberries. She didn't receive the southern green beans until after she mentioned they missing to the server, along with the strawberries for her salad. Both were delivered a short time later. Sadly, the southern green beans were not green beans, they were a type of broad bean and she reported the salad was quite bland. Upon arrival, I was anticipating dessert. Once our food arrived and we sampled our meals, I/we decided against dessert as we anticipated disappointment. Also, appears plate clearing as each dish or glass is no longer needed it not an important task at this establishment. When eating here remember, this is chain food. We have eaten at the ones in Georgia and love them. This one is in need of great improvement. The waiter was nice, however, the service was scattered and unorganized. The salads before the apps. My burger was flattened so much it stuck way outside the bun. It was greasy and had no taste. My husband's pasta had next to none on the sauce. We drove 40 minutes to get there, but never again, especially to this one. read more

Me and my boyfriend are regulars here once a week and hands down best comfort food in the area and I've lived in land o lakes for over 20 years. They always have amazing portions and quality for an amazing price. The waiters and waitresses are always so nice and have never had a problem with any of them. It was chilly raining and a storm was coming, but we had to eat and no one (Including me) wanted to cook or mess with carry out So I suggested CheddRs and once in a while even I hit a home run. There was 7 in our party and I knew to call ahead for that many people. When we arrived the place was packed but we only had a 8 min Wait our server (Brook) took our drink Orders and we ordered onion rings and spinish dip both where very delicious my wife ordered the chicken tender salad with pecans her mom ordered country fried steak same as my son and his wife. All with mashed potatoes and gravy and carrots I ordered chicken pot pie, I'm still chilly from the rain the food started arriving. My pot pie so good, piping hot flavorful not dry just bone warming delicious. From the hostess to the wait staff to the manager, everyone gave us awesome service.  They repeatedly made mention of this being our first time here.  The waiters, Ollie & Tamara, (pictured above) were absolutely awesome.  We were seated in the bar area so the Bartender (Ollie) was our actual server.  However, Tamara came by to help out with taking our drink orders.  She was super friendly.  Ollie came by and knelt down and patiently waited as I stumbled through making my order.   The shift manager, Tara, came by to check on us a couple of times.  She even said she'd go back and see about getting our order out to us.  It indeed came out shortly there after.  It was a delicious meal made even better by Tara giving us made from scratch chocolate chip cookies.  She even went so far as to check to verify that they weren't made with nuts.   I had seen Cheddar's in Indiana and here in Florida on many occasions but had never had any intentions of stopping by.  However, after this visit, I will definitely be making this our next family dinner out destination. read more

Yuck. Skip this place at least until we go back to normal after Coronavirus. Both wine glasses I received were obviously dirty. First one had dried lettuce and soap film on it. Second one had a mysterious sticky substance on the inside of the glass. The ribs were old, dried out, and had a reheated taste. The croissants, chicken tenders, and spinach dip were all great. Still, for restaurants to just be allowed to open for dining in, there is no excuse for dishes THAT obviously dirty to be served to guests. read more

Fresh ingredients restaurant located right by the Tampa outlet mall. A bit expensive for what you get in my opinion. I had the grilled salmon which was very good. Staff was friendly. They are usually pretty busy but I was here at lunch time so didn't need to wait for a table. It's a great location right off the highway at the outlet mall. It does have to compete with all the other restaurants in that location so that can be a challenge but they always seem to be busy. There's plenty of parking at the mall so that's a plus. You can stop in here during your black Friday shopping trip. read more

I have eaten at Cheddar's three times in the last couple months. Each time the food was good and service was excellent. The chicken pot pie is delicious. Before this, when I went it was overall average but they have improved and I'm impressed with the service during these times when it's hard to find people. The thing that I think i love most about this place is that this can be a great date spot for a reasonable price. Its like semi-fancy meets reasonably priced. I got my meal which cost about $10 and they were not stingy about the portions! I love that I can get a full course meal. Including appetizers for less then $15 here. Delicious meal and great price. Kids had burgers and they look good. My husband and I shared the whole rack of bbq ribs. Ribs were huge and tender enough but the disappointment was the meat was flavorless. I'm pretty sure they didn't marinate the ribs and only brushed on bbq sauce at the end. This restaurant is famous for southern dishes, it's a shame to say my homemade bbq ribs are much better. Food was great but they have changed some of the ways some of the items were made before. My granddaughter was not happy about the Mac and cheese change. First time enjoying this establishment and certainly not our last. Taylor was our server, she had patience with us as we were far from a rush to eat. She made recommendations, let us take our time and was just a perfect server. Wisconsin cheese bites and sampler started us off. Food was amazing and huge portion sizes. We had the Texas iced tea and watermelon vodkarita, both tasted great, serving size to cost was impressive. Ribeye and the Salmon dinners looked perfect. We did end up taking our entrees home because we were completely stuffed from the appetizers. The atmosphere was a bit loud but nothing to complain about. We just moved here from Charleston, SC and were automatically drawn in by the implication that the food was made from scratch. Sadly, that was not the case. While the service was good and the food was editable -- it was NOT made from scratch. I ordered a bacon burger that was clearly made from a frozen patty. My husband did enjoy the croissants and coconut shrimp. He said the sauce was good. But his chicken Alfredo sauce - which I tasted - was watered down. Took my girls to the Tampa Outlet mall today to do some last minute school clothes shopping. We decided to go eat a late lunch at Cheddars. I have never been to a Cheddar's before so was excited to try it. We got seated immediately which was nice. We ordered the Santa Fe spinach dip as an appetizer. It was pretty good, not my favorite spinach dip. The chips were very good- thin and crispy. I got the chicken tender platter- buffalo style with fries. It was not good at all. The fries were very soft, and the chicken was extremely chewy. On the plus side- my daughter got the Monte Cristo sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese. They were both excellent choices. Very yummy! My other daughter got the Penne pasta marinara kids meal and she really enjoyed it. My favorite part of the meal was my Coke! read more

Ah Cheddars. The one in Brandon we've been to a million times. The service rocks, the food is awesome and the place is clean. This new location, in Lutz, hits the mark on 2 of those 3 things--food and atmosphere---definitely not service . We walked in, and were told there's a 20-25 minute wait. No problem. We know how good it is, no worry about the wait. Decorated with great brick and stone with contemporary lighting. Loved it. We were seated in 15 minutes. Fantastic! We got seated at 3:13. That's important because the time from when we sat in the booth to the time we left robbed us from time we will never get back. Time which dragged while our waitress forgot about us. She took our drink orders, 3 in our group, and we ordered the appetizer. Drinks came promptly, in 7 minutes, but the appetizer got sidetracked apparently and didn't arrive for another 14 minutes. It was only chips and queso. It wasn't a big elaborate order--just chips and queso! Our orders were placed right before the the appetizer arrived. That's when the next wait began. One waiter brought meals to our table only to find out he had he wrong table. Rats!! Meals arrived after another 32 minute wait. No, I'm not joking. Granted, when it finally arrived, it was hot and fresh. Chicken strips and shrimp, chicken strips and steak, and tilapia with a few sides. All was fabulous!! What was annoying though is that through this, we'd see families come in after us, eat and leave full before we even received our meals. Our daughter was with us and she ordered chocolate cake for dessert. Start your stop watches! 22 minutes later, it arrived. The excuse was that it was delivered and eaten at another table. While we waited for our delays of food being served to us, our waitress was nowhere in sight. This meal from seating to exit lasted 75 minutes. If they would be on top of their serving game, this could have been reduced by 30 minutes easily. She did manage to be extra present and attentive when it was time to pay the bill--tip time. She's lucky my husband paid the bill, I would have been more honest with the amount she deserved. Stars based on food and price, definitely not service. read more

This scratch kitchen restaurant never disappoints! I have had the pleasure of eating here on at least 4 occasions. Starting off your meal with the complimentary warm light flakey crescent rolls drizzled with that honey butter glaze , mmmhmmm ! Can we talk about the salmon blackened or tilapia dinner served up with shrimp atop of it all . These dishes are delicious with all them sides . I've tried several side dishes , the broccoli cheese bake in its own little ramekin or the sweet glazed baby carrots , a loaded baked potato, green beans and there's even more , too many to mention them all . I can say I truly enjoy them all very much . It's always been cooked to perfection and overflowing with flavor. kudos to the cooks . The appreciation that I have towards their take on a Monte Cristo is sky high . It's Ham , cheese turkey wrapped up in a light fluffy breading and then fried . Drizzle the absolute most magnificent raspberry sauce all over that and top it with some powdered sugar , boy do your taste buds dance after you bite into this . Yes please & thank you . As far as the entrees, I got the monte cristo...and although it was okay, I'm not really a fan of the sweet mixed with savory. It's a meat and cheese sandwich inside of (practically) a donut. I was more impressed with my mother's plate...half rack of ribs and chicken fingers. That was actually really good. Overall, wasn't too thrilled. But glad I tried it. It's a must try, but hopefully other people's experience with the waiting staff will be much better than ours. read more

So much unnecessary waste. People do not need that much food. Really!! Obesity is a problem in the USA!!! The salads could have fed a family of four. The pot pie two people and the fried steak was enormous. On our way out not one of the four hosts said goodnight or thank you for spending your hard earned money here. Just top down terrible. She finally made it to us so we told her it was our first time there was not a welcome etc., and we ordered our drinks I ordered a margarita with no salt on the brim which I found odd more Ice than drink it literally took almost 15 minutes for my drink to arrive. We proceeded to order our appetizers which was good and nothing out of this world I didn't get the sour cream plop on the spinach dip at all the first time seeing that. The server brought out some croissants drenched in some kind of butter flavor sauce way too much for 2 croissants. Our dinner finally arrived well I asked for my steak medium well came out overcooked had to send it back which took a bit for a second the server was about to debate how I ordered my steak when she looked at the little book she had she kinda corrected herself and said oh yes you did order medium well had to reorder my food once again. My daughter's burger tasted like the buns were dipped in pickles I'm guessing they put pickles on it and then removed off bun it was supposed to be just cheese and ketchup she wasn't happy either. After that, we decided not to get dessert we were done and not satisfied one bit. *We only went there because I got a gift card for Christmas only good thing that came out of that visit was that I didn't have to pay for any of it. We eat here with my in laws. The manager was amazing. She greeted my son and myself with a huge smile. She was more than happy to answer all of my son's questions even bringing him a pencil with paper after he asked about coloring on the kids' menu. She politely explained they did not have that and brought him resources to use. He just loves to draw. The food (mine/daughter- ribeye with loaded potato and broccoli, inlaws- pot pie, hubby- Monte Cristo, son- cheeseburger with fries) and service from our waitress was fantastic. We decided to try Cheddars when we were out at the Wiregrass Mall area. It was a mistake. The restaurant is beautiful and when we arrived we had a 25 minute wait. We went to the bar and ordered the special watermelon drink they advertised. It was huge in size but had only 1 shot of vodka in it and a lot of juices. It was very sweet, but tasty. We ordered the chips and queso and before it arrived out table was ready. We moved to a booth. We had a comfortable seat. We ordered our meals I had shrimp and steak with mushrooms on the side. It was good. The bowl of mushrooms was the tiniest I've ever seen. The shrimp was spicy. My husbands meal of chicken and shrimp came out cold and had to be returned. They made a hot dish and he ate it but it wasn't very good. They brought soup while he waited for his meal to be hot. Once the bill came my husband paid in cash and the waiter shorted us $4. He had to talk to him about it which was awkward. The experience wasn't great and we wouldn't go back to this restaurant. read more

I love me some cheddars! Georgia was the first time I had ever visited a Cheddar's so I was excited to find out there was a cheddars by our place in Tampa! This location is perfect! There is an outlet mall right behind this location! So it's perfect for a fun outing! The food was incredible, I ordered the key west chicken and shrimp and my husband ordered the buffalo chicken wrap! It was all good!! The service was great we had an awesome server who wasn't annoying and always came at the right time. Did I mention we also had the monster cookie? To die for as always! All in all we will definitely return it felt like home away from home! The Montecristo sandwich was the best I've ever had perfectly cooked with a great crust and gooey inside, The french fries had a nice crusty seasoning.
