Have been to this location about ten times since they've opened. Some visits great some not, but overall gotten better as they ironed out some of the issues new restaurants experience. Prices are very reasonable for this level ambiance and food quality. They can have wait times, although this has improved as more restaurants open around the area. The bar area is first come-first serve and offers a nice wide open area with high-tops, booth seating and the regular bar front seating; all with the ability to watch your favorite sports on the numerous TVs. In the dining room the wait staff are generally attentive, although sometimes the drinks go dry. Ambiance is good and accoustics not too loud for conversations. A couple visits we have had issues with lengthy delays until we received our food, but management has always been attentive to straightening things out. The food quality and temperature is overall above average. Everything from burgers, chicken to salmon have been consistently nicely prepared. Overall this started at 3.5 stars; moving to a 4 star rating on more recent visits. read more

Took the kids here tonight after the girl one got done with band practice. We sat down a little after 8 which is a bit late for dinner for the kids, but at least I fed them, right? Anyway, it was a 20 minute wait which was not bad for a Friday night. Especially given that there were people lined up outside to get into the other restaurants next door. The waitstaff was a little slow which kind of stunk given that we were starving and were eating so late but that could be overlooked. And it's certainly not worthy of a one star review. Here's the reason for the one star review. When we sat down, the table was still pretty dirty from the previous guests. It looked like whoever wiped it down just pushed everything next the the condiments. So, there was rice stuck to the salt shaker and dried up sauce next to the ketchup. Etc. Kind of gross. Next, I broke out my utensils and my knife was dirty so I ended up swapping with the boy one who didn't need a knife for his grilled cheese. But even that's not totally worthy of one star. The last straw was when we got our meals and I was just about done. I had a plain baked potato with nothing on it and when I moved it out of the way, there was something really gross and orange underneath. It looked like maybe old cheese or something that was never quite washed off the plate. It was dark orange. I didn't get anything that was dark orange. Neither did the kids. And if they did, there certainly shouldn't have been a big chunk of it hiding under my baked potato. Every step of the way it was dirty. And I get really skeeved out by stuff like that. Especially if it's someone else's dinner. I don't like sharing a meal with my wife let alone someone I don't know. To top it all off, we ended the night with the Monster Cookie which was really lame. It's supposed to be this made to order chocolate chip cookie on a pan with ice cream and stuff. But it wasn't monster at all. It took up about 3/4 of the pan. It was more of a medium sized cookie than a monster cookie. Maybe that was someone else's also and they took a big bite out of it before giving it to us! read more

First time at Cheddar's here. The folks are down from Jax, so we swung by the outlet mall to kill some time. Needless to say, we got hungry, so decided to pop over to Cheddar's to give it a try. HOLY SHAMOLY were they busy. Wait time was quoted as 30-45 minutes, but amazingly only took about 5. Our poor server had to come back about 3 times, because everything looked so good, we couldn't decide. We finally settled on ribs, chicken and shrimp, and the vegetable plate. So now that we've eaten, I've got to give Cheddar's a 4 out of 5. Everyone was full and satiated by the end, and the serving sizes were large, so no issues there. The ribs were the one star under five, only due to the fact that the two halves tasted like they were made by two different people. The first half rack was WOW. The second had a fatty, almost old taste, which threw everything off kilter. The buttered corn was good (very sweet), and the fries were seasoned, so good news there. The chicken and shrimp were great, and all the veggies were deelish. This could have been a 5 star, tell everyone about it, write home to mama visit, but the ribs shot it in the foot. We stopped here on our way into the outlet mall. A bit hungry, we figure we could get a quick small lunch. We walked in on a Sunday afternoon around 2pm and had no wait when we asked for a table. Once seated our server came right over and introduced herself. She was very nice and made sure everything was brought over to our table fairly quickly. Honey got a salad and I just got some kickin' tenders off the appetizer menu. I decided to get some of my strips regular and the other half coated in their buffalo sauce with a side of honey mustard sauce for dipping. While I was not that hungry and was unable to finish all my chicken strips I did think they were good. Honey enjoyed his salad which came with a delicious bread biscuit that I almost completely devoured on my own. It was sweet and delicious! All in all this place was good for a quick bite. read more

We went here with a toddler and 3 adults. We were pleased to see the children's menu had things he would like and we put in his order before the server took our order. That way he would not have to wait to get his food. The server was very helpful getting a high chair for him and making sure he was happy. His meal came first of course and the chicken tenders were huge but easy to cut up for him. He loved his dinner. Next was their famous complimentary croissants fresh from the oven which were absolutely delicious while we waited for our meals. I had the grilled chicken salad and was so absorbed in enjoying that; I cannot tell you how my friends meals looked as they were also dining in enjoyment. Mine was one of the freshest salads and the grilled chickn breast was cooked just right with a wonderful flavor. Making it the best grilled chicken salad I have had in ages. My two friends also agreed Cheddars Scratch Kitchen of Lutz was a delicious meal and our server was top notch. The ambiance was semi light, not real bright, but light enough to easily see, the seating was comfortable and the noise level was pretty low. All in all a great experience. read more

Service was good. Crispy Chicken Pecan Salad okay. Coleslaw was very good. Broccoli Casserole was served warm, dry and stale like it had been in the refrigerator for days. Meatloaf seemed like a breadcrumb loaf with some meat. It had burnt crust concealed by a warm, watered-down gravy with little flavor. If, you enjoy dining out at a Ponderosa or Golden Coral, this is the place for you! Otherwise, do not bother wasting your time or money. My daughter ordered the fried chicken breast platter. The filet was obviously previously frozen and brined in a salt bath stronger than the Dead Sea. It was inedible and the server took it off the bill. My salmon was dry and also previously frozen. The only redeeming factor of the meal was their signature warmed croissants. Seriously, just don't go. read more

The restaurant was clean and excellent. The outside was well maintained and didn't see any trash and the canisters were empty. This manager here is on his game and knows how to run a restaurant. My daughter and I often come to Cheddar's as our mother daughter lunch date place. Food is always tasty and service is always good! The only issue I had last time was people not wearing masks up walking around and no one saying a word to them. This was during phase 2 when masks were mandatory and customers were instructed to wear them when walking around. An entire group was observed doing this. Perhaps the young kids working were unsure how to handle. Despite this food is tasty and the bread is always yummy, warm, and fresh. read more

The only Cheddar's that I have dined in at was in Brandon. It was dirty, smelly, and old. My expectations were set low when my group decided to eat here. We arrived at 230pm on a Sunday and the wait waa just 15 minutes. The place is clean, no carpet, and all I could smell was the delicious food being prepared. Our waiter was Paul and he was very attentive and kind. I ordered the 6oz sirloin with two sides. My friends ordered a Monte Cristo, and a grilled chicken salad. When the plates came out the food was arranged very nicely. Plates were clean. The food was wonderful. The Monte Cristo was made to perfection being not overly bready. The salad and steak were delicious as well. Needless to say, we will be back. I will share my experience with everyone I know. The Mrs. and I like to sit at the bar when we go out to eat. It usually lends for interesting conversation and an entertaining time. Sal was behind the bar last night and he made the experience a good one. First, Cheddars does not have a happy hour. What the what?!?!? Sal explained why and I get it but come on now. !!! The food is very good and at an incredible price. I mean a 20oz bone in ribeye for $19.99?!?!? We had the spin dip app, New Orleans seafood pasta and glazed pork chop. All were very good. Had all this with 4 cocktails and it ran us $90 including the tip. We tipped 25%, so you can see every thing is very reasonably priced. The from scratch kitchen concept works for sure. They have plenty of items if you're trying to keep it low calorie and they list the calorie count on the menu which we love. Go see Sal and enjoy a very good, well priced dinner but don't order the drink with the coconut on the rim. He hates making those. read more

Cold, flavorless food. Dirty from every viewpoint. Sadly, they appear to have a staffing problem. We could not wait at the bar, because although empty, it was dirty with plates and drinks emptied on the bar. The lobby was dripping black water from the ceiling. Now- there is a fly at our table. I miss Cheddar's in Brandon - this one in Wesley Chapel is pretty good though and not TOO Far away. The burgers are excellent and I LOVE their croissants. Staff is usually pretty friendly as well. We love this place...but we miss Mike the manager who isn't there anymore. We dined in and the food was great and so were the drinks. Our server was Hannah who's been there for 3 years. Mike (former Mgr) use to help the employees with everything from busting/cleaning tables to helping serve the food and working the kitchen. Loni/Cody the managers don't do anything to help their employees. They walk around and you don't see them helping like Mike was always in the dining area helping or in the kitchen bringing food out. It's sad they have great employees and could use the help especially during Covid. read more

I don't normally write reviews for mediocre restaurants like this which I compare to Chili's, Applebee's or Ruby Tuesday's. However, I ate here over a $20 a plate eatery down the street to save a few bucks. Queso with salsa and chips is an easy $4.99 appetizer with free beef mixed in the queso and the chips and salsa are free if you desire more. As an entree, I ordered the Redfish with crabsauce which comes blackened. I was pleasantly surprised I received a full filet of fish underneath multi grain rice w/ two sides for $14.99. A second plate of food was ordered which was a rare six ounce sirloin with two sides which was received medium-well. Our food took about 20 minutes to receive delivered by the manager who apologized for the wait time. I wasn't mad nor inconvenienced because I expect things like this from restaurants in this category. I would return here for a cheap meal but definitely would avoid this place on serious date night or special occasion due to the atmosphere (loud and noisy) and the food descriptions include hand-cut instead of aged, wild, hormone free. Although the food was good (hot, large portion, colorful, arranged nicely) although not entirely what we desired (rare vs medium well) it was consumed quickly as I was hungry and got a lot for my money and in this sitaution that was I focused on. read more

Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen is a menu made of primarily home style food. From burgers to chicken pot pies to fish and chips. Everything on the menu is made from scratch, so it is very fresh and tasty. The facilities ( including the kitchen) are clean, so the food may be made from scratch but when it comes to the chefs, there's no scratching involved. The best item on their menu is the buffalo chicken wraps. They have a nice nip, and are cooled off with a fresh dip in a ranch dressing. These can be good for about two people, depending on the size of your appetite. I might also recommend their club sandwich- stacked high and capitally done, with crispy bacon, this is excellence on a plate. For appetizers, I would recommend their potato soup or their nachos. If you are in the mood for dessert, get the monster cookie sundae- you might have to split this with someone. It is great with a cup of coffee. This Cheddar's service is honestly the best. I came in with my husband on a date and the place was clean, calm and everyone seemed in a great mood. The croissants are of course amazing every time. I did order the chicken tender platter with double fries for the first time and the chicken unfortunately did not taste good, very bland and oily (I get they are fried but it was excessive) and when I told the server she was VERY cool about it. Manager came over and asked if I wanted anything else also very sweet. When I denied anything else (because I ate tons of fries) they we're accommodating in whatever I needed. Tipped our server 45% because that's how people should be treated. WILL be back 10/10 read more

I've read the other reviews and I'm kind of surprised. As far as chain restaurants go, I really like Cheddar's. Food is consistent, serving sizes are generous and at least at the WC location, I've always only had good service. I really don't get the complaints - It's a step above a Chilis or Fridays in terms of quality and range of selections, and there's something for everyone! Anyway, went for lunch with a colleague yesterday and came in toting our laptops. Obviously we were there to work while eating, so I appreciated the hostess putting us off to the side and outside of the main dining room. Our spinach dip with chips and salsa was good ... could have stood to be a little more hot, but had great flavor. I like that the chips and salsa are bottomless and our server was kind enough to remind us of that. My colleague had the Fried Chicken Tender Salad and enjoyed it. Bonus points that it comes with a yummy croissant! I had the Dijon Chicken and Mushrooms with broccoli rice casserole and corn as sides. Love the broccoli rice casserole and seriously could eat it with a shovel. The Dijon sauce on my chicken was creamy and flavorful. I had never been to a cheddars before, but was told good things. It was my first and last time. The food was awful! However, our server was very nice and attentive. I ordered a beer, and it came out barely cold. I couldn't really find anything that looked good for I figured the bacon burger was an easy bet. It came deconstructed and I had to put it together which I really didn't like. The bacon was half burnt, but also somehow half soggy. My patty was so over done and dry it was in barely edible. I ate two bites and picked at my fries until I the waiter came. Back to ask for the check. Would not recommend! So many other restaurants near by that are sooooo much better. read more

I've only been to Cheddar's twice including this last visit. I ordered a sirloin, and wow, it was the best sirloin in my life. It was perfectly seared, and browned. I ordered it medium, which is hard to do on such a thin piece of meat, and it came out perfect, and juicy. My sides were also delicious, and the croissants that you get for free were in point. They serve Coke products. Service staff was wonderful so I definitely recommend this location. read more

I went last after shopping at the outlet. Usually I have a great dining in experience. Ordered the 6oz steak with bake potatoes and corn. My steak was delicious. Well seasoned. I had to return my bake potatoes two times! The potatoes were not cooked. The. The server got me mash potatoes and that was cold. He eventually got me more corn. Seem like they had problems in the kitchen last night. The sever was nice. My friend ordered the salmon it was over rice. It look like they had a tablespoon of rice on her plate.
