WORST MEAL EVER! I typically avoid chain restaurants, however we tried this Cheddars because we were given a gift card. In fact this was the first time we've ever eaten at a Cheddars & I guarantee it was our last. I ordered the salmon dinner because the menu said it came blackened or with a Bourbon glaze. The waitress forgot to ask me how I wanted it so it was served without any seasoning (not even salt or pepper) or glaze & was completely bland & void of ANY flavor. The real issue with my salmon was that it was barely cooked. My piece of salmon was approximately 4" x 3" and was almost completely raw starting 1/2" away from the edge of the fillet - in other words, practically the entire piece was raw - I mean completely raw (it even jiggled). After making eye contact with our waitress, who decided to completely ignore us & remain at the bar & flirt with other waiters, I found the hostess & asked her to send the manager to our table. About 10 min later, a cook came to our table (not a manager) & when I showed him my uncooked salmon, proceeded to make all sort of excuses & offered to cook me something else. Of course, a simple apology would have been nice & I never got one from the cook. I didn't need to hear about how the line cooks did cook my salmon correctly (really? it was raw). I declined having them cook anything else for me, since raw fish is the way the cooks are "supposed" to cook things at this restaurant. After the waitress realized my meal was bad, she then started giving us some service (probably trying to save her tip). She never once looked or acknowledged that my husband was even at the table, which was really odd behavior. My husband ordered a sandwich, which was just ok. We will never eat at this restaurant or any Cheddars again. In fact, I joined Yelp, just so I could right this review. read more

It is a hit and miss at each location but this happened to be one of the worst. An exact example of chain restaurants they can care less about service because they'll get customers regardless. Per arrival we got sat about 5 minutes later but no server arrived for almost 10 minutes. We ordered right away because we didn't want to keep waiting for service or make it a worst wait. Food arrived in about 30 minutes before our drinks. Being a scratch kitchen I believe things are already pre-made which was not so much wait considered they were packed. We ordered a second drink and arrived 10 minutes after dishes were picked up. Server was MIA and didn't check in our table only to ask if we wanted the check. Sadly places like this kill the local restaurants which serve better quality of food and make sure your experience is up par. read more

We had an absolutely fantastic experience here, largely because of a super terrific server (Jordan), who's worked at this restaurant since it opened. He was very knowledgeable about the menu, and attentive and friendly. I visited Cheddar's with my elderly dad - he'd never been before so we gave it a try. The menu was very reasonable. I had the ribs and they were melt-off-the-bone tender and delicious (one of Jordan's suggestions). Dad had a steak that he liked very much - and he eats it rare so it's got to be good. Every entree offers a variety of sides, and we appreciated the variety. One thing to note is that the restaurant is very noisy - we were seated in the section to the left, which helped. If a manager is reading this, give Jordan a raise! read more

My husband had the New Orleans Pasta and it was DELICIOUS. So many different spices. I had the Spasgna (baked spaghetti). Wasn't bad, but not something I'd get again. Their garlic bread was very good! Afterward, we ordered the mini key lime pie. Very tart! But I like it that way, so I was satisfied. Will definitely be back to try something new. Came all the way from Riverview and we were slightly disappointed our baked potatoes were cold. Also ordered a salmon salad minus the salmon bc my daughter is vegetarian and they didnt take any money off the price of the salad even though we didnt have salmon. It was good. We went with a big party last night. We went at 4:00 to make sure we got a table and to avoid the rush. The Pain Killers we so syrupy . Wouldn't get them again. Not into writing negative reviews, ever but if the shoe fits. We called Monday to make reservations for a large party on Tuesday, to be told they do not take reservations, but not to worry, it's a Tuesday. We arrived 30min early to let the restaurant know our large party would be there in approx 30min. After waiting for 15min the hostess informs us her manager says it will be more than an hour wait to accommodate us. Needless to say we left. The food here was comparable to applebees.. The "Loaded baked potato" we ordered was a potato with sour cream and cheese at the top. Pretty disappointing potato. My boyfriend ordered his steak medium, and it came out rare. We asked the waiter to have them put the steak back on the grill and when it was brought back his sad potato he hadn't touched yet had been thrown away. My steak was ok, again, not the best but not the worst I've ever had. The waiter we had was pleasant, but seemed rushed and frazzled. Why all the negative reviews? I have eaten here 5 times and every meal has been good to excellent. They have a tremendous ribeye steak dinner that I can't seem to get away from, the sides are excellent and the wait staff is tremendous. I think they could have a beef type gravy for their mashed potatoes when serving with ribeye and they don't have Heinz 57 sauce, only A1. Only reasons I give it 4 instead of 5 stars. read more

Cheddars is probably my favorite chain Restaurant in the area. Their menu may not be the biggest, or the most creative. But what they do, they do right! Their sides like broccoli casserole, and Mac and cheese are just like grandma makes it! They offer a lot of country cooking staples like pot pie, chicken fried steak and their Monte cristo is a must try, reminding me of the now defunct Bennigans version. Yum! My favorite thing on the menu for lunch is their Buffalo chicken wrap. They give you 4 mini wraps of Buffalo chicken goodness with cheddar jack cheese, cabbage and pickles tucked inside and a side if ranch or Bleu cheese to dip it in. It's a good time! The little mini crossoints they give with salads (you can order them as an app too) are hot and delicious and come with a sugar butter glaze drizzled on top! Seriously addicting! The prices are very good for the food you get and I've yet to have a bad meal here. Service has always been prompt and friendly on all my visits and I've always left more than satisfied. I hope this restaurant doesn't go the route of the one in Largo and stays open. It's truly a gem in a sea of mediocrity. read more

I placed an order on the phone for pickup because I was having issues with the online app. I was told to be there at 4:10 to pick up dinner (approximately 30 minutes later). When I arrived at 4:10, I tried to check in on the link that they text me, however the link didn't work and I needed to call the restaurant to let them know I was there. I called in and sat in my car for ~30 minutes until a young girl brought out my order. I proceeded to explain to her in a matter of fact way -- no raising of my voice-- to tell management about the issue I had and if they can't fulfill their pickup on time they should call the customer and let them know they are running late. She practically broke into tears even though I again explained to her that the complaint was not against her but against the management of the company. While she was inside processing my credit card, I opened the bag to make sure everything was there. Someone did not properly put the lid on a melted butter container and it spilled all over the containers in the bag and in the car. A different girl brought out my receipt ~10 minutes later. I explained the issue again to this girl and told her about the melted butter, she said they got very busy and were running behind and they can't predict when they will get busy. No apologies... No "can I send a manager out to talk to you" ... No nothing from either girl ... just excuses. I totally understand that these situation can happen but if they do, management needs to step up and have someone contact the customer and tell them they are running behind and not let the customer sit in the parking lot wondering when their meal will appear. By the time I got home, butter was everywhere in the bag and the meal was cold. What a terrible experience. I doubt I will ever order from them again. read more

No stars deserved but given 1 cause I had no choice. , it took over an hour to get a burger, which came out hella undercooked which doesn't make sense. It was busy but not that busy. And a piece of cake that was so gross I couldn't believe it, also took about 15-20 minutes to show up. Server was nowhere to be found for more than half the time I was there. She was nice but service was bad. Called 2 times to talk to management and both the times when asked if I can wait for the manager and I said yes the first time, the hostess (which is also horrific at her job ) hung up on me. Then the second time 2 minutes later I said if needed, put me on hold, but do t hang up on me, the hostess did exactly what I asked her not to do. RESTAURANT IS HORRIBLE I WISH I NEVER WENT THERE. That was my first and last time ever. If you want cheep food with the same service go to a circle K. Let me finalize this by saying every plate I had, burger the starter croissant and the cake, all had hair of wild lengths and not my hair color on the plate or on the food. Keep driving to the one on Roosevelt! I love Cheddars. The food is great and affordable. This one is new and I gave it two visits before reviewing. On my first visit I ordered shepard's pie. I had whole chunks of potato in the mashed potatoes and something that myself, my wife, and the waitress and manager could not identify in the pie itself. On my second visit we had two servers trying to serve us, and fighting right by us about who is supposed to be. After that, while we're still looking at the menu a server tried to bring us someone else's food, then he tried give it to two more wrong tables before going back to find out where it was going. Then they brought my wife the wrong meal, she ordered chicken and she brought fish. When the correct meal came, they forgot the dressing. Like I said at the beginning, I love Cheddars. This location is new and needs a to get more organized. For the near future I will drive a little further to the Roosevelt location. read more

The wait staff was nice, but... The queso with beef wasn't hot enough for the cheese to really be melty. Then got the New Orleans Cajun pasta, which is usually a favorite, but this time it was horrible. The pasta was undercooked and the shrimp tasted like they had been cooked in a dirty pan (and they were overcooked), which gave the whole dish an off/bad taste. Where you slow Thursday ask the waiter for a beer refill. 10 minutes later no beer. Only two people at the bar the restaurant was half-full in my section. I explained to the waiter that I was a veteran with stage 4 head and neck cancer with no saliva glands that I need fluid to eat my food. He ordered it and I waited and waited and waited. I explained to the bartender which was not busy my circumstances and he said so what! I got angry and he said no need to cuss at me. They have the best fried Catfish! Just the one on Park Blvd. Cole slaw is awesome. So are the onion rings ( only if you use salt) they are too salty for me albeit I love them. Going now for my catfish What a disappointment! I went after my catfish dinner, got home with it and it was not catfish they switched a not very good white fish for the usual catfish. I had this done at the one in Clearwater so I never go there. I do plan to call them tomorrow and tell them about it. I took a picture and it is not cat fish. We were excited to get invited to celebrate my Sister's Birthday today at this restaurant, we even looked up the menu ahead of time so we could familiarize ourselves with it (as we often do) when we arrived, we were greeted and led to the table where my family was, The waitress started out great and asked us for drink orders while we waited for the rest of our party. But it sorta went downhill after that. In all fairness the manager did pass by our table and asked us if everything was good and we said yes it was, but at that point we had not encountered a real problem. The food was great for the prices, portions were very large which was a great deal. However, my brother had to wait and wait for a salad he never got until well after we were all done with ours, when the salad finally arrived he was able to scarf it down before his dinner arrived, he then asked for sour cream and it took so long to get it that he just ate his steak with out it. The waitress seemed like nothing was very urgent and sorta fluffed it off, we also mentioned it was my sisters birthday when she asked if we wanted desserts we were like well it's my sisters birthday and we thought at that point she was going to suggest desserts or give us a menu to look at desserts she never did she just walked away and came back and gave my sister some thing like a cookie or some thing and that's how our meal ended we weren't offered any coffee to order and never were we asked about check splitting or anything we had to have her take back the check to split. It was great food for the money but the service is what led to the 2 star review. I'm sure she meant well, but she lacked communication with us and it seemed like she had too many tables.
