Great food from scratch! Cheap for large portions. Chicken tenders are awesome. Had Monte Christo and rolls. Filled me up.

the waiter/waitresses are sweethearts, the food is decent, it's just the kitchen that needs to get their act together. It took almost 30 minutes for them to make a sundae, are you serious? You need to get better workers for the kitchen, not lazy ones. The manager apologized to us but it wasn't her fault, it was just the kitchen. read more

First time to a Cheddars the food was very good. I got the grilled talipia/shrimp on a bed of rice and I got steamed broccoli and Idaho mashed potatoes. The mango salsa on top of the fish was AMAZING!! read more

Where to begin... Before my rant, note that I understand it's New Years Day and a big call-in day for employees, but they were well staffed.... Walked in with a 25-30 min wait and about 20-30 people hanging in the lobby. Not too uncommon for a holiday and during dinner time. However, initially see 9 tables loaded with dirty dishes from previous patrons. Watch MULTIPLE staff walk by empty handed, several times, and flat out ignore the tables. This goes on for the ENTIRE time waiting and not ONE of the 9 tables were cleaned off. A few only needed a wipe down.... Finally, we get called for our sitting and they take us back into the far side where there are an ADDITIONAL 10 empty CLEAN tables.. So they have a ton of people waiting for seats with at least 19 open tables. My wife and I sit back there and 15 minutes go by before I had to ask someone if we could even get a dang drink order put in. Finally get someone to come take our order and I ask a simple question about a dish. The server had no idea and instead of going to ask, just stood there looking at me like I was stupid. We put in our order and he comes back with our salads and tells us the croissants will "be awhile". Wife got the salmon: very dry and over cooked... I got the New Orleans Pasta: shrimp and pasta was cold.... Finished our waters about 1/2 through the meal and never got refills... The staff are all unfamiliar with the menu, don't know common server etiquette for clearing tables (even if they aren't your own), and flat out lazy!! Watched my entire meal while they all just ignored tables.... To top the whole thing off, as we were leaving this group of 7 elderly folks were getting seated at the small round table in the corner WAY too small for them to fit at. One of the lady's asked if they can have the MUCH larger table next to it and they wouldn't accommodate them because "that server just got sat". So they forced them into this table. Wish I could have stayed just to see how all their plates were going to fit at once..... Will not come here again!!! Oh, and we never got our croissants.... read more

The food at Cheddar's nothing great but it's good. The service is fast and friendly. It's packed every time I go there. I am giving it four stars because of the prices. Cheddar's is an amazing value. It's not fancy and not fine dining. It's just good. On my last visit I got a portion of Shepherds Pie easily big enough for two adults for just $8 after tax and tip. I love picking up the check at Cheddar's. And it's a nice place. It's clean and well managed. I live in Old Town near some pretty good spots but I am more than happy to drive way out of my way to go to Cheddar's. read more

Good comfort food. Was not overly impressed by the service. Had to wait on the waitress many times. But i like the scenery.

We received our appetizer at the same time as the entree. We were never checked on to see if our drinks needed a refill. The steak that I ordered was medium and it came out well done. The worst of it was that this is the only meal that my family shared together on 4-28-16 and we all have diarrhea, vomitting and upset stomach. read more

Went to Cheddar's a few days ago and all I can say is WOW! After finally getting our order taken, our food arrived in less than 6 minutes. My burger was RAW. My wife's chicken fried steak was so RAW that you could see the wet flow in the breading. My caesar salad looked and tasted like it had been sitting out for 5 or 6 hours. Cheddar's is a pretty nice place to have dinner. A sit-down-and-enjoy-your-meal place with reasonable prices and a comfortable atmosphere. I have been a couple of times and I can tell you that their chicken fried steaks are large and delicious and the salmon is great as well. I haven't been there in a while. Very fast service and attended us pretty quick. Food did not take too long to come out. However I did come from 1-3 pm. It normally doesn't come out this fast in the evening when it's busier. Typical issue these days in this part of KS due to the lack of health dept. checks. It was a very cold day. Tortilla soup was only spicy hot, no heat to it. Had decaf coffee and it was barely hot. They obviously do not pre-heat your cups with hot water. A good waiter will. My meal was so so but I was already disappointed. Kept quiet about it all and left still chilled. Oh and man were they rushing everyone with the need to order, eat, pay and leave. They were not even busy. read more

I've been coming here twice a month with my family since they opened. Unfortunately, tonight was the last time I will ever be back. I just spent 2 hours there and have not yet ate anything. It was a 30 minute wait which was fine we were seated after 30 mins, ordered the food right away because we have the menu memorized. After 45 minutes we received plates with food so cold it felt like they had it sitting in the refrigerator. I told our waitress to please take it back but to bring us fresh food back. She was apologetic stated she would let her manager know this was unacceptable and he would be over to talk to us. She came back to let me know she placed the new order but the manager advised her he didn't have time to make the situation right. The waitress knew this wasn't good customer service so she said she would ask him again. 45 minutes later not only had the manager not even come to acknowledge the situation but my child is still sitting here hungry. We came in for my husbands birthday last Saturday around 2 and unfortunately our server seemed to be in a huge rush. She literally threw our food and anything we asked for onto our table while she walked by. At first I was sympathetic because i thought if she was doing this she must be insanity busy....I was a server at PF Chang's for a few years so I understand it can get crazy. I mean no server at this type of establishment would treat guests like this if they didn't REALLY have to. But then I saw her sit down and hang out with a man at one of the tables. One time, I get it...but she sat down with him multiple times for 5-10 mins at a time. We seemed to be bothering her if I stopped her to ask for anything (because she never really checked on us) while she was walking by. She brought our check before we were even half way through our meal so we felt rushed to leave. It was very disappointing because I promised my husband that Cheddar's was really good but she really ruined the experience for us all. read more

Don't ever order the croissant for carry out. It either get smashed or doesn't live up to its size at the restaurant.

Very reasonably priced, excellent tasting food and good portions. Only bad thing is that because of this it gets too busy on the weekend it's more than a hour wait for 2 people. I even went there on a Sunday at 3 pm and still ended up waiting for a half hour to be seated. This is not the restaurants fault tho. One of my favorite places to eat. read more

We just moved to Wichita and were excited to find a Cheddar's here. We went out with some friends for my husband's birthday. I am a low carb eater and explained this to the server. I asked if a dish could be altered because of this and he was very accommodating. I got exactly what I asked for with GREAT service. I'll be back :) read more

One of my favorite restaurants in Wichita. They have great food and service. For the quality of food, the pricing is very fair.

The last time that I dined at Cheddars the service was spotty but the food quality was good. Our next experience was much worse. We called mid week to check if we could make reservations for our family, about 10 people, for supper on a Saturday night. I spoke with a hostess, let her know our party size, and she stated that they could not make reservations but out do call-ahead seating on Saturdays. So we called back on Saturday an hour or so ahead of our desired dining time. We spoke with the manager and she all but about hung up on us during our conversation. She would not allow us to arrange the call-ahead seating, and then she told us that we could not have a party of more than 8 people. We asked to more tables to accommodate and she stated that they couldn't do this, but would set us in booths next to each other, she was extremely rude and disrespectful. I will not be back to cheddars in Wichita. The level of customer service from the MANAGER was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. read more

Not too long ago, my uncle had passed away from Dementia and we all went to his funeral. We all decided to go to Cheddar's for some lunch and to help cheer us all up, and it did a very good job at doing so. The outside area was absolutely beautiful to look at, and some birds and crows were even walking around, not flying off when we walked by! Really amped up the aesthetic. We got in, took a seat on the far right side of the restaurant, got our drinks(w/ one free refill), and our appetizers, chips and onion rings. They tasted pretty good, although the batter from the onion rings fell off quite easily, and I usually don't like eating onion without its batter. The server was just her typical way, but she was nice, especially towards my uncle's wife. I got a bacon cheeseburger w/ the side of off the cob buttered corn. The wait time was a bit slow, however. Some of my family who ordered after us even got their food, which was a bit annoying. But, we got our orders eventually. The veggies and stuff were on the side, which I ignored. The burger tasted very good, although keeping the bacon in the burger was a tough deal. The corn had a bit more butter than I'm used to, but it was still good anyways. We all complimented about our tasty food. Our bill came, and we gave the server a 20% tip before all of us left. We all talked before parting ways, with more birds and crows walking around us. My wife and I frequent Cheddar's. Sadly, I will not eat there again after tonight. The food was great, I always get the smokehouse burger and would've recommended it to anyone. At the end of our dinner, a giant roach crawled on to my glass right before I picked it up for a drink. It startled me and disgusted my wife. She had to run to the bathroom to throw up while I was waiting for our waiter to get the "manager". The manager seemed very young and untrained as to how to handle any customer service situation. The waiter provided great service and they didn't make us pay for the meal. I was most upset that the "manager" couldn't tell me how they handle this type of situation other than giving the customer a free meal and crossing their fingers that it doesn't happen again. I will just call the health department on Monday because she didn't see an issue with a large cockroach crawling on our table by our plates while we eat! I am very disappointed in the restaurant and will no longer give them my service or refer friends and family there. read more
