Stopped here because we didn't know where else to go and we were tired of driving around hitting dead ends on the island. Lol. Food was just average (cheeseburgers, pretzel sticks, chicken tenders), but the prices were reasonable and they give you a huge glass for the drinks. Our server was hard to find after we ordered. He seemed overwhelmed with just a few tables. Forgot our fries, sauce, etc. By that time we got them we were almost done with our meals. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was clean but 80% of the tables were filled with parties with kids (most of them screaming and/out out of control). Must be on a "good for kids" list.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We left and all of us said, phew, that was an exhausting meal. :-/

I walked into the restaurant on a Friday night around seven. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I liked that the place had a fun college feel to it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The front section was full of people, although there were still some tables available.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The waitress asked if we wanted to sit in that area or more towards the back where it was quieter. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We chose a table in the back, behind the bar. It was much quieter there, so my daughter and I could actually have a conversation.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was great and the food was served at a good temperature. I ordered the Impossible burger with everything on it. I substituted a pretzel roll for the brioche and for an up-charge, it certainly wasn't worth it. The pretzel roll was tiny, especially for the size of the burger. The fries tasted great - reminded me of Broadway Fries from back in the day. I also appreciated that the soda came in a huge cup so I didn't need a refill.

Honestly, I had low expectations for this restaurant and expected it to be greasy and unappealing. It's got a 50s diner decor and layout and was immaculately clean and new (post storm renovation). The servers were all friendly and on top of things - no issues there. The food wasn't bad at all and I really enjoyed their nachos. The fish tacos and fish sandwich were a hit as well. I wouldn't hesitate to put this on my list of island stops for a quick lunch. Prices were fair too.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]What an eclectic combination of themes and great food here![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This restaurant has been on Sanibel for decades, and even survived Hurricane Ian (although major renovations were necessary). [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's got a 50s diner, old town vibe to it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Burgers, milkshakes, floats, and giant sodas. The food was delicious and plentiful, and the staff were quite friendly and each we talked to had been long-time employees. That says something about a business. If you ever find yourself on Sanibel Island this is a must stop for lunch or early dinner (this and most restaurants on the island close early, even on the weekends)

Wow!! Stopped here after our beach day on Captiva because we were drawn in by the name "cheeburger cheeburger." What does it mean? I still don't know! Anyways, [[HIGHLIGHT]]after parking in the spacious strip mall lot, we were greeted by clean retro decor, the kind you want to see in a place known for its burgers and shakes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waitress, Pamela, was very informative. She helped guide our decision making on sauces and what servings to get of the fries. A single is good for 2 people! I ordered a classic burger with American cheese, tomato, lettuce, and the signature burger sauce. I thought it was really good! I also had the brownie batter milkshake, also great. The sweet potato fries were even better, especially dipped in the signature burger sauce. The food came out quick, the portions were great, and the proved even better. Everyone was happy with the meal! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We even got some entertainment when some patrons nearby embarked on the cheeseburger challenge, but we did not stay long enough to see if they succeeded. But I was rooting for them![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

You know I've been coming to this island for years and never stopped by here. Finally had a chance . I sat at the bar just ordered a beer, a burger and some french fries and I was pleasantly surprised. Cheeseburger cheeseburger for the win !

Nice place to stop by to enjoy a burger and fries. The shakes looked amazing but didn't try one. The Blackened Grouper sandwich was tasty. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very cool decoration to look at.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was excellent and quick.

Was stuck in Marriott Sanibel. Was highly recommended to visit Cheeburger Cheeburger. Learned from my uber driver (only way to reach it) that it was based off an old SNL skit. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant was big but empty on a Tuesday evening.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decorations were new but retro. Their half cut ancient red car really popped.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Sat on the counter and ordered an island burger and cheesecake shake. The burger was basic. Didn't taste much flavor or any twist that wouldn't make it forgettable. The shake tasted more like a watered down Oreo. Overall average experience.

Too much of a factory line for me. Last time we ate at a Sunway it was also on an island. When you're stuck pretty much, need to grab a bite during a break from exploring and don't want to waste time with a seat down meal. We got 6 inches sub, my husband went for the Italian BMT, I tried the Rotisserie style chicken with garlic aioli. They didn't have anu sandwich with avocado at this location or avocados period. Communication between us and staff was very poor, language barrier (I am not a native English speaker either, but..), not listening, rushing you for not good reason. I was trying to get simple and be easy going, not overload anyone, not change the ingredients or add too many things. The sandwiches were just OK, bread was breaking on top of mine making it harder to eat. We also got some lemonades. They have no seating inside, small location. We were interested in an outdoor area, it is a small area with some stools in front. We were in a rush, so it worked. But Subway still didn't convince me. Next time we'll be on an island... maybe try something else.

The person behind the counter (not sure may be the Owner/Manager) was very friendly. Greeted all customers personally, some in foreign languages like Italian. Many seem to be locals that knew these folks. Anyway we ordered a couple of sandwiches. They made all of these with great love. There's not a lot of seating inside the subway but no worries. This is in a very nice parking lot with lots of trees and shade. So sitting in the car and having your lunch is just as good here! We will be back!!

We love…read morebreakfast, and after trying so many places over the years, it can start to feel like every menu offers the same dishes prepared the same way. Lighthouse Cafe managed to make a classic breakfast memorable. We ordered the French toast, and the portion was huge and easy to split. More importantly, it was absolutely delicious. The eggs we ordered were cooked exactly as needed, the bacon was perfectly crisp, and the cheese grits were rich, creamy, and full of flavor. We literally cleaned our plates and ate every bite despite our intentions to simple stop by for a taste. One of the biggest surprises was adding fish to breakfast. It's not something I would have ever thought to eat for breakfast, but it ended up being one of the highlights of the meal. The fish was incredibly tender and paired surprisingly well with the rest of the meal. It was such a unique addition that it changed the way I think about breakfast. We intentionally ordered some standard breakfast items because we believe that's the best way to judge a breakfast restaurant. If a place can make the classics exceptionally well, that's usually a great sign. Lighthouse Cafe exceeded our expectations across the board with their delicious plates and service. Not to mention it is nice to visit a locally owned restaurant whose owner is present and working alongside their staff. From the quality of the food to the generous portions, everything was excellent. If you're on Sanibel and want a breakfast that goes beyond the ordinary while still nailing all the classics, Lighthouse Cafe is a great place to visit.

Note the hours - we came around 3pm and it was closed! They close between lunch and dinner and reopen at 4:30. There are a few other Bubble Room businesses on the block - an emporium (gift shop) an ice cream shop, so we were able to check these places out while we waited for the restaurant to open. They also have a few fun photo ops outside the restaurant, which gives you a good taste of what you'll find inside. In one word, I would describe The Bubble Room as kitschy. There's nothing extraordinary to see here that makes this place a "must visit" - no need to go out of your way. It's Christmas year-round here, which makes it whimsical. The staff were upbeat and engaging, and they were able to jazz up their uniforms to show their personality. When I visited the women's restroom, I thought it was chuckily that they had lots of male photos on the walls. I imagine the men's restroom returns the favor. The restaurant was filled with aromas of their freshly baked bubble bread and cinnamon rolls. Having just eaten lunch, we came here for dessert only, but the delicious smells made us wish we had room to eat another meal. The Bubble Room has a fun drink menu - many other diners were imbibing. They brought out a dessert tray showcasing the different cake slices and to give you an eye for size. As a chocolate lover, I was tempted to get a chocolate slice (and even the Tropical Breeze which was a yellow fruitcake type looked good), but my research on Yelp told me that the Buttercrunch cake is not to miss! Yelp did not steer me wrong ~ I enjoyed my Buttercrunch cake! If you like butterfingers, chocolate, ice cream, and an Oreo crust, this is the slice for you. The cake slices are huge - great for sharing, so no need to be selfish and order a whole slice for yourself (if you do, you'll probably have leftovers). While I enjoyed my slice, I feel like The Bubble Room relies on its kitsch and quantity rather than quality. I recommend taking the time to get out of your seat and exploring the different rooms to look at all of the decor. Knowing what the Bubble Room was all about, we took the liberty of walking around and looking at the different rooms, and there are several floors - but I wish staff encouraged us to do it. Maybe because we only came for dessert, we got an abridged experience. I'd call The Bubble Room a one-and-done tourist attraction that serves food, quirk, and cake.
