Do not give this business your money. Jun and her business associates are unprofessional. They yelled at me and hung up on me. They screamed at my elderly parents when they showed up for their appointment after I had used their online booking feature to reschedule an appointment and received confirmation emails of the rebooking. Jun proceeded to tell me that's not a tool her business utilized however, when you get their voicemail the same tool is mentioned to book appointments! I had a gift card I purchased from the previous owner that Cheeva refuses to honor because "the previous owner did not give them those funds." She took the time to make sure I was getting exactly the right pressure throughout the massage and focused on areas that was were tight or seemed stressed. Well...a little self-care can go a long way. Sitting a lot for work really made my upper back, neck, and shoulder uncomfortable and tight. So I decided to try a Thai session over the "traditional" massage. I do not regret my choice. June was my masseuse. She did a tremendous job softening my shoulders and back, and the stretching towards the end could've been enough alone. June was very nice and attentive to my pressure needs. I went to Cheeva Thai Massage with a few girlfriends for a GNO. Overall, the massage was good, nothing so special. Cons: They are inconsistent with their massages. The lady will do one type of massage on the arm and not the same on the other. She will spend 2 minutes extra on one arm and shorten the time on the other arm. Very inconsistent movement. I hoped both my arms will get the same treatment. I've experienced better. The lady I had was the also the front desk manager. It was not relaxing as I hoped it would be. The lady had her phone out next to my face with a bright screen in a dark room. (mmm not so relaxing) On top of that, her phone would not stop buzzing, she would be checking appointments and her calendar during the massage. She was too pre-occupied with other things rather than focusing on the client. It was a waste of my time, she would be in and out of the room, manage the phone, do other things. I came here last minute to book a massage sesh for my hubby and friend and myself. When u walk in, you're greeted by an Asian lady, who is very sweet. They have u take off ur shoes and give u slippers to wear right off the bat. The hubster and friend got a Thai massage which they were raving about at the end and I got a prenatal massage. This was my first prenatal massage and let me tell u... it was SOOOOOO relaxing, therapeutic, and just zen. The lady who did my prenatal was Thani. She was pressing on certain points in my back that released pressure and tension and it literally knocked me out (in a good way lol). I got a 1 hr massage and I didn't want to leave. It went by sooo quickly! I'm for sure coming back to her. This place is everything a massage spot should be. They are pretty pricey but it's sooooo worth it! I came out of this massage feeling revitalized and and relaxed. I go to so many massage spots and it's not often that you come out of it feeling refreshed. 5/5 - clean, professional, and soooo calming. I originally found this place via Groupon and messaged them through Yelp to double check openings. Luckily, they did have openings this weekend, which was lucky for me and my boyfriend since we were doing a staycation in San Mateo. The place is in the back of a Thai restaurant and Mr. Pickle's sandwich. It's nestled by McDonald's as well, so it really isn't hard to find. I ended up not buying the Groupon for couple's massage and just paid $109 at the place instead. I would actually recommend doing that since Groupon takes a big portion of the amount. The employees are great, so I would want my full payment to go to them. The massages were so calming that my boyfriend knocked out and started snoring hahaha. He only does that when he's completely relaxed and comfortable. They did a great job with the stretching, the deep tissue massaging with the elbows, and stepping on your back. Both of my boyfriend and I have incredibly tough knots in our shoulders and backs, but we came out feeling like a million bucks. They really take good care of you. I was looking to surprise my wife with a couples massage and found this place on Yelp. I connected through Yelp with Rena and then called to finalize. They recently opened and I will admit that the directions of it being behind a Thai restaurant and to park at the McDonalds left me worried I had found a sketchy place. We decided to give it a go and were so very glad we did. It was amazing and both women did an excellent job. They found a ton of tension in my left shoulder and in my quads. It really hurt, but I now feel amazing. My wife had similar tension in her left shoulder and also in her lower back. She also had an amazing experience. I purchased a package two years ago for five massages. At the time when I went to pay, she had offered me the package, saying hey, you can use one today, and then come back and use it four more times and it doesn't expire. I opted to buy the five package deal. Again, this was in August 2021. Well today I showed up for my appointment and tried to use one of my three that are left over on my package, and the woman refused to accept it, saying that package expires in one year. That might be what their policy is today, but it definitely was not the policy when I purchased this two years ago. I am so frustrated that they think it's acceptable to take $385 upfront, provide no service for the three extra items, and they get to walk away with the money. When my card clearly says there is no expiration date. I'm so frustrated with this company, because when I did go, the massages were great, but this practice of taking money and providing nothing for it is shady to me. read more

If it weren't for the cleanliness and prompt service I'd give this place one star. We came here on Valentine's evening for a couple's Thai massage and I left in more pain than when I got there. They had us fill out forms asking what kind of massage we wanted, the pressure, if we wanted them to step on us, etc. I said no to stepping on me- I'm small (100lb & 5'3 to be exact). However, they somehow switched mine and my boyfriend's forms because 2 minutes into my massage I was getting stepped on and crushed. She started with my back and at first I let it happen because I assumed that's just how they crack your back. But then she began stepping on my leg and I was like okay hold up... I think you guys switched our forms because I didn't hear my boyfriend's masseuse stepping on him. That one leg was very sore the next day. My person apologized, but throughout the rest of the massage she didn't ask me if I was okay / if the pressure was okay like most do. I had to tell her she was going too hard multiple times, mostly when she was pulling various parts of my body (I'm assuming to "crack" that part) basically bending me like a pretzel even when my body was naturally resisting. She only used oil on my back and arms, so when she was on my legs and feet she was tugging at my skin which really hurt. The whole experience just wasn't relaxing at all. 4 days later my body is still sore and recovering. read more
